If I could give zero stars, I would.
We joined Dynamite this season after my daughter had taken private lessons with one of the coaches, who encouraged us to try out. My daughter was excited; she thought this would be the chance to grow, improve, and maybe finally make her middle school team. Instead, this season was one of the most disappointing, frustrating, and frankly toxic experiences we’ve ever had in youth sports.
The problems started right away. Right before the first tournament, they brought in a new coach, and things immediately went downhill. This coach made baffling, unfair, and downright harmful decisions all season long. The team didn’t win more than a single set the entire season; not because the girls weren’t capable, but because of the way they were coached.
For example, a 9-year-old who was clearly not ready was made the Libero (later I learned she happened to be taking private lessons with the coach). A genuinely good setter was replaced by an awful one, who, unsurprisingly, had family ties to the club director. That setter stayed on the court even while crying during the last tournament, while other kids who made one mistake were berated or benched.
The favoritism was obvious, and the mistreatment of certain players was appalling. My daughter told me that some players were even threatened with not making their school team if they didn’t “listen” to the coaches. Practices were almost entirely running, with little real volleyball instruction. Meanwhile, one girl was yelled at after nearly every point, sometimes to the point of tears. My daughter came home discouraged more often than not, and it was heartbreaking to watch her excitement for volleyball turn into dread.
Parents put their trust (and a lot of money) into club programs expecting development, encouragement, and fair treatment. Dynamite gave us the opposite: politics, favoritism, and emotional abuse. If you value your child’s confidence, growth, or even just a season of healthy team sports, stay far away.

- [ ] My daughter has been with Dynamite Club for 4 Years. She started out on the 12’s team which was a little rough and had some ups and downs. She had only previously played a very short amount of time before that.
- [ ] She was very eager to learn and started joining the Summer Clinics. Desiree was very involved each summer and always said positive things with how she was improving.
- [ ] She was blessed with Coach Vida’s Family for 2 years. / Coach Will / Coach Diana / Coach Kylie. It is amazing to be around their love of Volleyball. It takes a village of support and you can definitely feel it from them.
- [ ] She is now on Coach Ector’s/Kelsie’s Team. She has grown tremendously. Last season He made a brand new team and the one difference I saw was the whole team improved throughout the year. He pushed them in a positive way and the team has high potential moving forward. We are so glad we have been Loyal to Dynamite cause we truly feel like family. Boom goes the Dynamite 🧨

Be careful if you sign up with Dynamite. They condone bullying. That was enough for me to pull out my daughter asap. 3 girls quit in one week!!
