The best OTF studio I have ever been to! I have been a member of Orange Theory since 2018 and have spent a considerable amount of time at the studios in DC, NY, Arizona, and Southern California. Hands down, Midtown Tulsa is my favorite. It is not just that every coach is approachable, but also the fact that they are personally invested in your success (shoutout to Rachel & Lauren). This is the first time I have truly felt like I am a part of an Orange Theory community and it comes across in the little things like, but not limited to: (1) the staff remembering the days I frequent the studio, (2) the coaches noting when I am not there for my usual class and checking in the next time they see me, (3) being invited to join the various community events, and (4) engagement in conversations outside of the context of OTF. An example of this exceptional community feeling: this is the first year I have ever participated in the Dri Tri event not because I could not do it before, but because I never truly felt a part of an OTF community before. I cannot say enough good things about Orange Theory and this location specifically.
I started my journey with OTF about a year and a half ago and it has been a fun one! From the different challenges and benchmarks to just all around relationships you make while at the gym⦠this is why I feel comfortable giving it five stars.
Those reasons as well as I have traveled to other locations around the US and the coaches and front desk attendants are the friendliest and are super helpful.
I certainly have my favorite coaches, but I cannot choose just one. All are amazing! The current roster there is:

Update: the owner called me over the weekend but his tone was much different than the comment below. Also, 3 weight benches broke this morning while people were using them. Can you please add this to the list of items that need fixed Ryan?
Hoping by putting this here things will get fixed! The membership is too much $$ to have fans not working in a small room with 20+ people. Please fix OT! Itβs been almost 2 weeks. I assumed broken fans, treads, etc would be top priority to fix for members but that hasnβt really been the case over the last 3 years. Great coaches and staff! Ownership is just lacking.

Update: it's been a year and a half now and I feel like I can't live without Orange Theory. Worth it.
I highly recommend it. They make it very efficient for you to get an excellent workout. Having a coach feels like small-group personal training, which makes it very worth the price. The added strength classes are excellent, as I'm very interested in lifting in addition to cardiovascular fitness. Orange Theory makes it easy and fun to workout. Easy, because all the equipment is there at your station and you don't have to run all over a gym and wait for someone to be done with the equipment you need. (You don't even have to worry about germs as much because you have your own station. And it's fun because they gamify the experience by encouraging you with "splat points" to compete against your own best. And everyone, at any level of fitness can get their own splat points by being at 80% of their own maximum heart.

I went for a free intro class, but I'm not going back. There wasn't really any differentiation for various levels of ability, and I also didn't feel a sense of community or inclusivity.
Also, the scale in the bathroom and the BMI chart on the wall of the lobby are not good signs... Please review your standards for "fitness" and inclusivity.
Edit: the poster in the lobby was situated over some machine and had calculations of height:weight ratio, with percentages of body fat. It said something like, "know the composition of your body!"
I don't like to dis small businesses, but this one gave me the ick.

Sadly a little too corporate for my likingβ¦lf you need to cancel a class within 8 hours of its start time you are out the class. If you are running 5 minutes late your spot in the class can be given to someone on waitlist. If you need to freeze your membership you continue paying a monthly fee. Tulsa has so many local choices for fitness that will work with you better than a chain. Support local folks.

I joined having not stepped foot in a gym in over 10 years and very overweight. Since joining, I have not once felt deemed or out of place. The coaches and office staff go out of their way to welcome and encourage me, even checking in during work-outs to be sure I'm feeling good. The coaches are knowledgable and accommodating of any limitation you might have. The technology used is incredible and makes it so easy to see your progress and daily success. The coaches at the Midtown location are amazing, and very accommodating and helpful if you need to modify. They are also great about making sure your form is good. Itβs different everyday! Having the coaches there to cheer me on and give suggestions is like having my own personal trainer.
I love that Iβm completely done with a TOTAL workout in an hour. My body transformation was amazing. I heard βYou look so healthy!β all the time. I didnβt loose a lot of weight but my body was transformed.

Hard to know how to feel. The staff is usually great, but the OTF "fine print" forces you to pay for another month of membership if you are within 30 days of your next auto pay. So I went in today to cancel, November 25th 2019, and my bill day is the 17th, so I have to pay for my membership through Jan 17th. BE WARNED!
Also, I feel the workouts are trying too hard to be different everyday. I understand they (OTF corporate) want to keep it fresh, but after awhile it feels like it's too scattered, and not enough foundational strength focused. If you are looking for any easy no-brainer workout, do it. But if want to focus on any specific goals you are going to feel like it misses the mark.

Love the guided group fitness! Been going for a couple months now and love the knowledgeable coaches. Particularly, their ability to give different options for the exercises, and to help demonstrate the motion and correct my form. An example would be the other day when doing the deadlift (or some variety of it) Trey recommended that instead of going all the way down, but to stop when the hams get tight and then come back up. I Feel like this really made the move easier on my back.

I don't have to think, just push myself. I never pushed myself this hard when working out alone. The music is great. The trainers certainly keep you motivated by calling out your name, letting the group know if they need to tweak what they are doing, etc. I like the instant feedback as well with the heart monitor. I also love the convenience of the app for setting up sessions. Kinda an OTF addict at this point.

I love that it makes running on the treadmill something I don't hate- more like a spin class with combos, good music and coach inspiration! With the combination of weights and rowing for the best whole body workout I have ever done. I seriously can see results in places I haven't in a decade. So glad a friend asked me to try it out with her. I highly recommend for anyone to try, I know I was intimated but since it's off your own heart rate anyone can do it. Allison and Trey really motivate me. Thanks OTF.

My favorite part of OTF is that everyday the workouts are different. Itβs nice to have variation so that a workout never seems repetitive or boring. I really love having an instructor leading the class to motivate you to keep pushing through a workout. Itβs a challenging workout, but doable for every skill or physical level. I love being able to see my heart rate and the calorie count increase every minute is motivation to keep going. Plus, the people and staff are great!

Extremely shady business practices. I've been through this with large name gyms in the past (looking at you, LA Fitness). Short version is that it's nearly impossible to cancel and even more impossible to recoup any unfair charges you accrued. I ran out of energy to continue fighting for my money after being drug through the grass over several weeks. As far as the workout - I went to one apparently $85 class and it was fine. Too much cardio for me but I'm sure it's up some peoples' alleys.

Working out side-by-side with people, the music, & the trainersβ energy is so motivating! Itβs nice that not only do all the trainers know my name, but they also know my capabilities and limits and push me to do my best during workouts and not just take it easy.
The germaphobe in me also appreciates the wiping down of equipment with each set shift as well as the deep clean the staff conducts once per month.
