Starting over at 61 years old was daunting but I’m happy to say one month is “in the books!” I’ve appreciate all the encouragement I’ve received, not just when I walk in the door but throughout the week. I honestly didn’t think, that with my hectic work day and travel schedule, that I’d be able to be this consistent, but we’ve worked together to make it work. There are lots of places to exercise and opportunities in the area but I truly believe that the people who work here and now “teammates” make the difference and they all work together as a team to set themelves apart from all the rest..

Ok. I was so worried to start. I’m a big girl and I was scared to be judged and not accepted because of my size. But from the first moment I stepped in the door this place felt different than I thought. Danielle, helped sign me up and promised no judgement (I was still wary). I started and immediately other people in the class came up and introduced themselves and encouraged me. Like seriously from the first second I started the kindness was so upfront. And these people who didn’t know me told me I was going to do great and just showing up is amazing. I learned to be more comfortable and the coaches, Derek and Brandon, (the only two I have met), encouraged me and greeted me with warm smiles every day I went to a class. Throughout the class you will be pushed to do better but it feels so good to it! No judgement, new friends, and a gym that will truly make you sweat and do better every time, its a guarantee! Don’t talk yourself out of it just do it. The only regrets you will have is you didn’t do it sooner. I am down 26 pounds and counting! But numbers mean nothing compared to how good I feel because I have more energy, more flexibility, more mobility, and I’m stronger. I no longer feel sluggish and tired for no reason. I am happier and better off now than I have been in years. Thanks Solid Rock Fam!

Solid Rock Training is an amazing gym where you are not only training but you feel like a member of an extended family. I’m usually not the type of person who enjoys group classes but the classes here are so rewarding and the support that you get from your fellow workout buddies pushes you to want to get better. The instruction is awesome and I've been pushed to do things that I wouldn't have done on my own. The range of different exercises and movements is already starting to help me physically. After my total knee replacement, I was nervous to get back in the gym. (Petrified to be honest) Coach Brandon realized I needed to rebuild my confidence in the gym setting. I chose Solid Rock because their program methods aligned with my goals: consistency. Before joining SRT, I was working out inconsistently alone or with small groups, so I had a rocky start to their larger group workout program. It took some time to feel comfortable with the pace and communication of workouts, but it has been more than worth it. Coaches Brandon and Derek are patient and kind, and have an uncanny ability to make you feel capable and confident even when it’s an exercise you’ve never heard of before. The workouts they plan are solid - with month long cycles that build up so you have time to improve.
Before I started I didn’t think I could handle the level of intensity needed for these workouts, but the trainers easily adapt to your level while still challenging you to get stronger over time. Derek runs a tight ship and ensures you get the workout benefits as intended - sustained heart rate, quality form, all the while encouraging everyone to always give their best. Joining SRT has helped my consistency, my confidence, and has given me a rock’in community of support 💪🏽

I’m a 65-year-old male who has been running most of my life. However, a recent heart-related health concern made it clear that running alone wasn’t enough. I realized I needed to incorporate mobility, strength, and cardio into my routine.
Because of my health concerns and a shoulder injury, I wasn’t comfortable joining a group workout. I wanted a personal trainer who could tailor a plan specifically for me. Solid Rock came highly recommended, and I began working one-on-one with Brandon—a genuinely great guy.
He took the time to understand my background and eased me into training. Brandon always keeps my health in mind, never pushing too hard, but just enough to give me that satisfying workout feeling. He also pays close attention to form, which has been key for my progress and injury prevention.
After just four weeks, I’ve already noticed a significant improvement and feel great. The long-term goal is to eventually join one of their group workout sessions—but for now, the personalized approach has been exactly what I needed.

I found Solid Rock through a google search and I am so glad I did. I do not live in Norman, but spend a good amount of time there to be with my aging father and was looking for both a good workout as well as a community. I didn't expect to find both in one place, but I did with Solid Rock. Coming from New England, I was not used to the type of enviornment in a gym that Solid Rock has created - a challenging and competitive workout balanced perfectly with caring and motivating instructors and ethusiastic, supportive classmates. I have been on a fitness journey for years that has had it's highs and lows, and I can say with certainty that Solid Rock will help me stay solidly in a positive and healthy headspace. The classes are challenging and fun; I've looked forward to each one I have signed up for and have left sore, tired, and looking forward to the next. Brandon immediately made me feel welcome and excited and as someone who has the tendency to feel judged, it was such a relief to never feel any of that - just support and excitement to be with me on my fitness journey. I have taken Brandon and Brock's classes and loved them both. I also felt very welcome by Derrick and Danielle. Overall a great place!

I love my gym! Solid Rock is a special place. I came into SRT three years ago not not having exercised for many years. Derek and coaches were very patient , and helped with modifications as I tried to gain strength. It’s been three years and SRT has changed my life. Not only is the coaching exceptional, the members are as well. I look forward to seeing all my 5AM friends in the morning. It is a welcoming, encouraging and positive place. I don’t know that my words will do justice to the gym/culture Derek has created. I started there to lose some weight and get back in shape. Almost 2 years later and this place and these people have transformed me in so many ways. I am down almost 40 pounds since I started, down almost 50% from my initial body fat percentage, and I feel so much better. That is just from the workout side. At the beginning of my journey, I was barely able to do a lunge, maybe only 15 seconds on a plank, my cardio was horrible, and my mobility really limited my movements.
At SRT, Brandon has been the biggest help I have ever witnessed at a gym. I am about a month in at this gym and I can easily do lunges (I do weighted lunges now), I am almost at a minute on a plank, and the workouts are designed to improve mobility, strength, and endurance. Not only this, but my blood pressure levels have been much better - this was a huge goal for me. The coaches here are all about motivating you to crush your goals - and it really has been helpful. Not only are the coaches GREAT at Solid Rock, but the group of people attending and working out there are so motivational and really encourage me to do my best. Truly, this experience has been life changing. I HIGHLY recommend giving the team at Solid Rock Training a chance, I’m glad I did!
Edit: A month later - I still cannot say enough positive things about the coaching staff at this gym! I am motivated every single day to go and feel so accomplished after every workout! Give it a try!

I recently joined Solid Rock and have absolutely loved the support and encouragement from each trainer and coach. During sessions, Derek and Brock have directed me how to improve my form and created modifications to work with me no matter my strength level. I’ve been attending Solid Rock classes for 9 months now and can say without a doubt that Solid Rock is unlike any other gym. As a local physical therapist, I was previously skeptical about group lifting classes as I’ve treated many CrossFit athletes who have hurt themselves while training. Proper form and safety are of the utmost importance to Derek and the coaches. The programs are well thought out and focus on truly functional movements. Solid Rock is the perfect place to start if fitness feels overwhelming to you. I walked into SR with zero gym experience outside of cardio machines, and the coaches and community here showed me that anyone can make fitness a part of your life. My physical and mental health improved so much and I actually started enjoying working out (which previously didn't seem possible).
The coaches are professional and experienced, and they are intentional about modeling each workout, correcting your form, and modifying things you can't do yet so you can build up to it. SR has something for every age and fitness level, and everyone (coaches and other members) are always so encouraging, inclusive, and kind! That kind of culture doesn't happen on accident. You will feel challenged to do better, but never feel pressured to work out until you feel awful or hurt yourself.

I have only been attending this gym for 6 weeks, but I already know that Solid Rock going to be a part of my life’s journey from now on. I cannot believe how fantastic I already feel after just this short time! I have more energy, I already have better posture during my daily activities, and I just feel overall happier. I really didn’t expect this huge difference in how I feel—I am totally amazed.
The coaches are all so encouraging, helpful and knowledgeable. I have tried weightlifting before, but never really liked it, but at Solid Rock, the exercises are varied and interesting, and the coaches are continually tweaking our form to protect our joints and to target the right muscles. They are so encouraging, and this encouraging attitude flows to the other participants, such that everyone is incredibly supportive of one another, and that makes it just that much more of a positive experience. Many of the folks there have been going for years, and say that it is truly life-changing. After my 6 weeks of feeling so much better, I’m now looking forward to my physical state years from now, instead of being scared of “what might be” as I get a bit older.

I started out with a personal trainer early last year but I was needing to add cardio to my strength training so I found Solid Rock! I was getting stronger and then I had to miss a couple of months because I had hurt my back. I was so frustrated but I have been back at it for a month now and I absolutely love the atmosphere and the coaches are awesome!
I have never been very coordinated or athletic, so any type of regular exercising is a challenge for me, but the coach’s work with me and they suggest modifications when I need them. I appreciate all of the encouragement!
I have never been a morning person, but I have found that I love starting my day with the 7:00 am workout! I am 58 and I should have started this years ago, but I’m doing my best to stick with it and I wouldn’t want to do it anywhere else!!

Solid Rock is hands down the best gym I’ve ever been apart of. I’ve been coming to solid rock consistently over the past 5 years and it truly has made me stronger not only physically but mentally. From the coaches to the other gym members it’s such a healthy community of friends and I actually look forward to going every day. They not only take the guess work out of a workout but the coaches take the time to check in on you and make sure you’re doing ok, they encourage you and praise you when they see you working hard, and they keep you accountable and are constantly telling us “you can’t out train a bad diet”-a phrase that is burned in my brain. They go around the room during each class and check on your form to make sure you are doing the exercise correctly! They let you go at your own pace but push you to new heights each class. I've been a member of Solid Rock for four months as of today and I have a lot to say. Buckle up!
First, the facility is immaculate. I've never been to a cleaner, more taken care of gym/workout facility in my life. There's a lot of pride in that space and it shows by the level of care that the owner, coaches and members provide in the orderliness of the infrastructure space.
Second, the workouts give me exactly what I need, daily. I've been a part of the "let's go insane and grunt and run all over the place and push our heart rates to level 3,000 GO GO GO" and that may work for some but not for me. I need methodical, safe, and deliberate strength movement that pushes me daily. I get that here without leaving like I'm about to have a brain aneurism and am no longer in control of my body movements. They are HARD workouts but tailored to you so you're pushing yourself always- sometimes to the point of failure- and that's okay. Because you'll get a little closer to your goals each and every time. I promise!
Third, they have the best coaches. All different in their own ways but similar in the ways that matter most: encouraging, educated about movements/form/safety, POSITIVE. I show up knowing my body and brain are going to be fed with the type of blessings that will get me to the next day- 90% of that has to do with the coaches and the reminders they give to us in class- "Give someone next to you some encouragement; help someone feel seen today; don't give up and train your mind to work until the last second" and my personal favorite "Be a blessing to someone today." They are also constantly walking around watching you and making sure your form is on point. PTL!
Fourth, the culture and mission of SRT are second to none. They use the platform of working out/training/health to build community and relationships. As someone who has a career in public service- this really is all that life is about. My second week at SRT, they had a food drive for a friend's non-profit. I mean, how cool is that for a "gym" to do? A place that gives back to the community and facilitates relationships- SOLD!
Fifth, the sense of community that I feel in my 6am class is amazing. Working out with a small group of folks that you see day after day is awesome. I know that one friend is going to be there to give me knuckles when I complete one assisted chin up because he saw me struggle the day before. I know another friend is there to tell me "good job" when I run that first 400 meters because running is the worst and shows all over my face. I know the group of folks that will all be in the depths of mental struggle together when we're pushing sleds down and back. You never feel alone in the struggle to achieving your goals.
Lastly, and most importantly to me, this place is what I need for my mental health. Muscles are cool- don't get me wrong. And I know being physically healthy is an investment I will for sure cash out on later. BUT you have nothing- and I mean truly nothing- if your mental health isn't well. The difference between a day of movement and not, is night and day. I started working out several years ago for muscles but I kept going because it is the ONLY space that my mind goes quiet- I lock in- I prove to myself that I can do something really hard- endorphins and dopamine kick in- and I can tackle the rest of the day being the best version of myself for my baby girl, the love of my life/husband, my parents, my teams at work and anyone else I encounter that day. The first thing I always tell anyone who is struggling mentally and is at the bottom of the well is to just start moving. Just commit to a 10 minute daily walk. Now I'll add "and when you feel ready- join me at Solid Rock".

I’ve been at Solid Rock for a little over a year now and I couldn’t recommend it more. To speak to my experience, the coaches have helped me build discipline, form and keep a healthy diet, and improve my body’s health. I had struggled with my weight a lot throughout my life and growing up, and after completing their 6-week challenge when I joined I felt like I had unlocked the keys and secrets to never facing that struggle again. They didn’t just encourage me to do the hard work, they taught me how to do it and do it the right way all the time. If you’re new to dieting or (effective) regular exercise like I was, then this is a great way to get started. Having someone there that cares about your progress is very motivating, and the progress itself is very motivating.
On a more personal note, I’ve been working on doing things to get out of my shell more and being less socially anxious and the coaches and other members at SRT have been a really positive, easy source of social interaction for me. It’s helped a lot with my mental health.

My husband and I have been on a weight loss journey for several years now. Originally I started at Orange theory and I did like it but I dreaded most days going to workout because I do not love Cardio.
A little over a year ago my husband ventured across an add for Solid Rock Personal Training and little did we know how much it would change our lives for the better! So glad Derek Geiges convinced us to buy in!
When we joined the gym. We were far from in shape and far from making healthy eating choices. Over the past year, I am now doing double unders, pull-ups on a bar (with bands of course), and dips. I still can’t run lol but idk if that will ever be a thing for me. I have lost around 26 pounds, lost 7% body fat, and gained about 5 lbs of muscle. Overall since starting our journey I have lost nearly 50 pounds and I’m sure a lot of body fat! (I did not have in body at that time)
Jobie has drastically toned and gained 4 pounds of muscle and lost 40 pounds since starting to focus on weight loss. He looks like a whole different person.
Solid Rock has now become a second home for us. When we get off work, it’s a normal routine anymore to go to the gym. We actually look forward to going!! When we don’t go to the gym, it just feels strange. By taking time for ourselves to go to the gym each day, We thought we were doing a disservice to our children, but in reality it has done nothing but improve our household. We can now keep up and are overall more happy with life. Our kids see us making healthier choices and bettering our bodies and it continues to set a good example for them. They still get to do all of the things as well! 😊
While all of those are all great. The biggest thing for me has been the mental clarity that comes with working out consistently throughout the week. Having 45 minutes to yourself to not think about work or money or seven different sports that your kids need to be going to has made a world of difference. I now have a place I can go that takes my mind off of everything and is a positive way to work off the every day stresses. Less sadness, emotional eating, and feeling bad about myself with more achievement and pride in the hard work I put in.
Lastly and probably most importantly are the people! I used to be the person that went to the gym with my head down and a “get in and get out attitude”. We now have people we truly see as friends and want to talk to every day. Everyone is so kind and easy to get along with (even when we are all exhausted)!!
The coaches and staff are all amazing and genuinely want to see you succeed in the gym and in life. Brock Bossert and Brandon Clay I can’t say enough about you both, thanks for always being willing to push us to get better! You are both amazing humans!!

I love going to Solid Rock Training. The improvement in my overall health and muscle mass gain has been incredible in the 12 weeks since I started going as the picture below shows. I was skeptical about how it would engage me versus going to a traditional gym every day. I have gained friends, and the uplifting nature of the gym pushes me to go harder every day. The coaches work on form with each person. The functional-based training is very similar to what I did at the gym, but the group aspect helps you push forward. If you are looking for an enjoyable close to personal training experience or group training in Norman, this is the place.
Solid Rock Management has a smart system in place to alter classes properly to your schedule on their app, the color-coded system divides groups in a smart way, not to get overcrowded in each section and have a dedicated coach to help you while in your group sessions.
One of the benefits that I enjoy is that, I get to use InBody machine and program for free, this machine helps calculate the results of your exercises, the amount of muscle mass you gained and body fat you lost during your membership and you get to use it as many times you want!
I got to work with coach Brandon who always encourages me to do better and always let me know if I’m improving.
In general, Solid Rock is convenient, efficient, affordable with respectful coaches and encouraging team members to help you reach your goals.

I've been a member of Solid Rock for about 7 months now and I'm in better shape than I've been since I was much younger. I highly recommend SR because they have a team of highly qualified and professional personal trainers who take the time to get to know you and your name, encourage you to be and do your best, take into consideration any special needs you may have, and they do all the hard work building a workout routine that is balanced and targets your entire body while still focusing on specific muscle groups on different days. In addition to this, they also provide nutritional support, InBody scans, filtered water, a massage therapist by appointment, showers, many other amenities, and they also celebrate their members through appreciation events. SR is not just about getting in and getting out, it's like being in a large family where everyone is supportive and encouraging of others. I can't tell people enough good things about Solid Rock Training and the team there! As someone who was completely out of shape, overweight, and who has had surgery on my back, ankle and elbows, SRT staff has been able to work with me to make sure I am getting stronger, building endurance and toning all the while making sure I don’t injure myself. Not only are the coaches so encouraging but also all the others who work out there are too and always make you feel welcome! No one judges the level you are at but just makes sure you feel proud that you came to class. After just a couple months of classes, I feel like I am getting back in shape, getting stronger and just feel healthier. When I first started at Solid Rock, I thought I was in really good shape: five hours of Racketball a week plus an at home workout routine that includes 100 push-ups, several abdominal and lower back exercises, and weights. However, in my first six months at Solid Rock, I discovered muscles I had not felt before because I was sore in those areas almost continually for those first six months. Since starting Solid Rock almost a year ago, I have lost about 15 pounds, discovered an eight pack under these table muscles and have reduced knee pain and am able to run again. It’s also a healthy routine I can share with the family every morning before we go to work. The coaches are great, encouraging, uplifting, and are always perfecting your form. I would recommend Solid Rock to anyone.

I’ve been a member at SRT for over 3 years now, and trust me- you won’t find a better gym community and experience anywhere! Classes are small, and the workouts are always different. I would suggest Solid Rock to any person of any ability or age! Coaches are awesome and can help with modifications to any movement. After 2 years of isolating from COVID-19 due to the fact I was morbidly obese, had uncontrolled diabetes and was overall unhealthy I decided I needed to take actions to improve my health. I had watched my friend/former physician post about her incredible journey to health at Solid Rock Training. I was intrigued and decided to try the free week. My fears were quickly replaced with friendly, encouraging members, knowledgeable and caring coaches, and unmatched workouts. With a focus on strength, endurance and eating whole/clean foods I have been able to attain incredible results in my first 6 months. At 50 years old I’ve lost 31 pounds of body fat, my diabetes is controlled, I’ve been able to reduce medication, and my medical lab work is better than I can ever remember. I’m so excited to see what the next 6 months brings. SRT literally helped me gain my life back. My journey to complete health isn’t ending, rather it’s just starting! My best days are still ahead!!

Solid Rock is truly personal training. I have been to the big warehouse bootcamps and fitcamps and they are good. What makes Solid Rock stand out is that they realize bigger isn't better, more isn't better.... Better is Better! They are OCD about form and they sometimes slow movements down so that we can learn muscle memory and create good habits. They also will monitor during workouts to see when I need to modify or add heavier weight. I have been told more than once to go down in weight due to bad form. I personally love this because it shows me they are watching every detail and care. They actually look at who is booked in their classes the night before so they can think through who will need modifications and what type.
The InBody is also amazing and an important part that was missing for me before. It lends to the "personal training" aspect of Solid Rock. InBody scans me and gives me a read out so I can know my overall weight loss, muscle gain/loss, and fat gain/loss. It will also recommend marcos distribution and calories based on YOUR body, not some overall general plan given to everyone. It is built specifically for you. Then there is the coaches who help encourage you to eat and fuel your body well with whole foods. My trainer actually had me take pics every meal and send to him to help me create healthy habits! It worked!
These are some the things that have helped change me. I came in on Day one over 200 lbs, sick, tired and an overall health mess. 9 months in and I am working out 4-5 times per week, primarily eating whole foods, part of a great community and filled with hope for a healthy future. GRATEFUL for Solid Rock, the trainers and the community!
