Great dojo. The instructors are very knowledgeable, not just in judo but also aikido, taekwondo, and weapons.
Currently, there are usually two or so women around my size to work out with. But even if they're not around, all the guys are happy to work with me. Lots of fun learning how to apply techniques across a range of different heights, weights and physical abilities.
There are certified coaches and referees around to help train you if you want to compete, but the emphasis is more in "traditional" judo, including all the leg grabs, joint locks, stikes, etc, that have been removed by the Olympics committee.
Prices are reasonable. $50/month individual, $80/month for a family. Tuition includes all classes offered by members of Sooner Judo Club. There are other groups that make use of the dojo space, but their tuition is separate.
The facility is a bit worn down (it's an old building), but the owners/club members are working on repairs and upgrades as funding allows.
P.S. I saw a bunch of nasty reviews for this place dated to May-June of 2025. Apparently they're from a smear campaign left by members of a bjj group that was asked to leave by the building owner. Said bjj group took their anger out on SoonerJudo Club (a fellow renter) even though they weren't directly involved.

This is the best dojo I've trained at, and the instructors are some of the best I've had the chance to train with. This dojo is a nonprofit, so the instructors make nothing from teaching. It's all for the love of the art. Those are the people you want to learn from because it's not about money; it's about spreading the art they love and teaching you!

They teach excellent self-defense techniques here. As a woman, I believe this increased my self-confidence and self-control I donβt feel afraid at night in a parking lot anymore. Learning judo here really made me a better person. The instructors are very professional.

Probably the best Braziliam jiujitsu and judo gym for the money, most gyms charge 100 to 150 dollars a month while sooner judo club/ Ricardo Cavalcanti Okahoma bJJ is only 30 bucks a month with a insurance fee annually. Hard training, and high level training partners.
