The sooner seemed nice and clean and was pretty large the prices from what we could tell looked really well and it's very similar to a YMCA YMCA setup. We went for the Halloween event there and I'm happy that they hosted it because it did kind of on and off rain while we attended we don't live in Norman but we will go back just to see and use the facility which I will then write accordingly

Very clean and well maintained! The facility has a ton of courts, which makes it easy to get games in without waiting. The layout is organized, the staff keeps everything running smoothly, and there’s plenty of space for both players and spectators. It’s one of the best spots in the area for tournaments or casual play.”

My son Myles and I visited the Young Family Life Center in June and had a wonderful experience. There were plenty of courts available for us to train on, and everything was clean and well-maintained. The staff at the front desk was very welcoming, making us feel comfortable as soon as we arrived. We appreciated how affordable the facility was, and it was nice not having to worry about waiting for a court, since there were so many open for use. We both had a great time, and I wouldn’t hesitate to bring Myles back again in the future. The Young Family Life Center is truly a hidden gem—affordable, accessible, and perfect for families looking for quality time together.

This pool is too small. 25 yards leaves no room for spectators on deck. We were told there was overflow seating to watch our child swim but there was not. People were sitting on the stairs and crowded into the halls. The overflow room was the basketball gym and six games were being played at once.
It is a nice facility but there is very little seating. It is definitely too small to be running seven sporting events at once. Parking was difficult and the general vibe was tense. No one was having a good time.
If considering this facility for your meet look elsewhere. They don’t have the capacity to accommodate a major meet (and six basketball games).

This is NOT a venue for ANY championship swim meet, with or without a concurrent basketball tourney. No parking. No seating. No sufficient overflow options. Temperature and tempers are HOT.

I was hoping it would get better before writing this but sadly it hasn’t, this is my second time in the basketball league at yfac as a coach. Every game we faced different challenges. From the score table not having the right score, showing they don’t care by their attitudes. Every game the officiating was different. It’s hard to keep the team engaged when they feel defeated with the no calls. Most of the games the refs thought it was a joke and at times were asking the coaches what the rules were. When I tried to find a coordinator to speak with no one could be found. The head coordinator rarely responded to emails. Also having to pay for basketball practice at a facility with zero air conditioning is insane. Not the yfac facility but at another older facility in Norman. I tried calling other rec facilities but was always directed to the NOC.

It’s a sports complex. It was clean and we strived for a weekend AAU Tournament. Plenty of Norman Police were walking around. There’s a concession stand. The facility was clean and it wasn’t overcrowded. I do not have any complaints besides the refs that allow violence during the games 🥴. The seating area has tvs with live sports playing

Here for a basketball tournament start off by saying the officiating is terrible. If i am paying 35 dollars for gate fee you would think they can get some decent officials. Not to mention you have a small place for everyone to sit. You have so many games going on at once right next to each other and you don't know if they are blowing the whistle for your game or the one beside you and the kids get so confused and stop playing in the middle of the game. The game next to us the coach and a parent started having word with one another next thing you know a whole group of people are moving on to our court where my son's team is playing putting our kids in harms ways, we had to move off the court and couldn't even warm up for our game that we paid for. There were kids crying because you got grown people that don't know how to act. That coach should have been kicked out the game, but he was still there for the next game and that's problem no consequences to their action they will continue to act that way. If something isn't done about the hobble officiating someone is going to get hurt, we came play basketball not FOOTBALL!!!! And the parking is crazy I will not take my son back here to play.

Terrible basketball facility . Terrible refs. Score keepers do not pay attention. Misses giving you the points you score and gave missed free throw points to the other team!
3 fights in 1 day on multiple courts. 1 “security” guard. $20/person is too expensive for the services provided and the environment allowed. Have watched numerous games during a 2 year period. No improvement. Huge disappointment.
Update after response from facility:
It is ultimately the facility’s responsibility for what is allowed during the event. This was not a “one weekend occurrence”. It has been the same for a 2 year period.

Here for a swim meet. Pool is nice, warm up is nice. Swimmers have a prettiest decent facility. The issues is for the spectators. No handicap seating, very little normal seating to where it's impossible to get a seat to watch your swimmer, who you try and support at every meet. Not our favorite place to attend meets. If you are lucky enough to sit in an area that works for handicap, you have a human wall in front of you and can't see.

Awful!! Do not waste your time or your kids opportunities to learn how to play basketball. Travis or anyone else associated with Directing the league, will not help you if you have issues. They will stare at you and reply "I am here to take complaints". The staff is rude and always seem to not care. The refs and teams that are "liked" by YFAC will always take care of each other. The scorer tables have no clue the time, possession, points, and sometimes yes which direction the teams are supposed to go. If you need a good laugh go watch there "league" play.... sometime. Its entertaining at best

No gym This is just several basketball courts, and they can put up volleyball or pickleball nets. But the courts are almost always occupied by sports events, which is great for those leagues/tournaments but limits other use. There are two pools, one is for swim meets and the other is open on the weekends.

I don't know. This was just not what we were expecting for volleyball and swimming. The way it is built up online, we were expecting something.....more. My daughter plays volleyball at Premier, and we were looking for a new place, with the hopes that the setup would make sense, but this was just not good. The bleachers were right next to the serving line. We had to back up to allow the girls enough space to serve. It made zero sense.
Next, this place was supposed to be the next generation of swimming with the goal of bringing in competitions from around the state, but it looked like a basic swim area with less setup than a local YMCA. Maybe I am missing something because nothing about this place seems innovative, new, or leading. It just seems basic and cramped for both swimming and volleyball.

I learned while loving life that I have experienced some good, bad and loving environments. I would have to stay the very moment I walked in this environment I could tell there is something greater and not just different…but a greater difference…seeing a center that focuses on the health of people who ensure our nation is maintained by standards that promotes greater freedom, happiness, and more than sense of belonging.
As an our country is founded on principles of integrity that is actually states as a Republic, which means mobs do not rule this country.
With all the stigmas of our American society regarding our democracy that was created to represent the people, the very people who come to environments such as this Athletic Center and others would all agree that getting to work on themselves is the greatest gift this country has to offer. And when Kelly McCoy got to address a possible issue today with myself I left knowing the American values that every Veteran including myself is honored to have still never given up the Oath we took.
It’s takes love like this man Kelly to drive his efforts daily and to still out preform all others with ease.
We all can agree the world is wrong something ain’t right!!! Well, sometimes you gotta rewrite the future!!! And with Kelly working in our community I don’t just feel but know America’s future will be brighter and our youth will be greater than all GOATs!!!
Like MLK, I have a dream!!! And Young Family Athletic Center has much to offer the city of Norman because of how it’s being operated and cared for by Kelly McCoy!!
Staff is great!!! Pool is amazing. Lifeguards are totally awesome!!! The basket ball hoops are really high class.
You see everyone there with a smile…if you’re not happy trust me you will meet a very kind man that will ensure your success!!!
It’s takes a community to raise productive peoples. Thank you alls for the love you give daily so your community may grow greater together.!!!
