I have been working with Colt for almost four years. He has tailored my workouts to match with my fitness levels, my physical limitations, and my goals. I am constantly amazed by the variety of the routines: there is always something new or some new way to approach an exercise. I have been pleased with his encouragement and with the progress I have made and continue to make.

Working with Colt has been a game changer for me. I initially sought out a personal trainer to learn strength training since it’s something I’ve never done before. Colt has delivered on all fronts. He’s very reliable and always introduces me to new and effective routines that challenge me in just the right way. I’ve experienced such a positive transformation - I’m in excellent physical condition, my chronic bad problems are now a rare occurrence, and I have an incredible amount of energy throughout the day. It’s truly amazing how much better I feel in my own skin, and I owe a huge part of that to Colt’s expertise and guidance.

I’ve made so much progress since joining 40 Plus Personal Training 7 months ago. When I joined, I was having autoimmune flares that left me bed ridden for days at a time. Now I am working out up to 4 times a week and my symptoms have greatly improved!

Colt goes out of his way to personalize everyone's training process and not repeat exercise routines. He is personable and engaging - even at 5am!

I started working out with Colt about two months after my 40th birthday. A friend had been working out with him for a while with great success and I honestly couldn't wait to try 40 Plus Personal Training after his reviews.
I tend to prefer workouts that focus on my legs, since they are the strongest part of my body. What I love about working out with Colt is that every session alternates back and forth between upper body and lower body in the four sets and I know I wouldn't do this for myself by myself. His twice weekly weight training workouts paired with a mobility session each week are helping make my whole body stronger and I have more fun working out than I ever have before. I also have more confidence for other fitness activities outside of the gym like paddling, fencing, and swimming.
I came to Colt almost two years ago to make sure I could keep up with my energetic, now 10 year old, son and I can say for sure that it's working!

Wow!! I started working with Colt in Dec 2021. After COVID & a year of “on-line” teaching I was in need of help! I had trouble doing a “sit-up” in bed to drink my coffee!
Since then I’ve thoroughly enjoyed two weight sessions & two mobility sessions a week with Colt. Since fall of ‘22 I’ve added some workouts at other gyms, some swimming, some road races, volunteering for the US Forest Service with trail maintenance AND backpacking adventures with fit people half my age! Colt has supported all of my “extra” adventures with a healthy mix of cautionary wisdom & encouragement!
Now in the summer of 2024, I could not be happier with my ability to embrace the life I want to enjoy!
Thanks Colt!! 40+ Physical Fitness is just what I need to age well! ❤️❤️ I’m the one in the Eugene Marathon hat!

I'm in my mid-40s and have been working with Colt for about 4 months now. I had knee surgery about a year and a half before finding him. Pre-surgery I had always kept in shape through walking, biking, yard work, dancing, etc. Post surgery I had put on weight and I often needed a walking stick for balance.
I had never gone to a gym. They're intimidating, crowded, and smell weird. After struggling to exercise at home with no results, I finally conceded that I had no idea how to exercise post-surgery, especially without injuring myself. I needed help.
Colt is very welcoming and met with me initially to learn my history and find out what my goals were. He explains things clearly and concisely. Colt helped me ramp up slowly, building my muscles and improving my mobility and balance over time. We started with personal 1 on 1 sessions and now he guides me through weight-lifting, mobility exercises, and conditioning. Need to let off some steam? Conditioning is definitely the way to go!
This woman who was scared of gyms is now going 4 days a week voluntarily. I no longer need a walking stick at all and the pain in my knee has reduced significantly. The doctor has been really impressed with my progress in just 4 months. I'm cleared to go hiking/caving next month. Colt knows his stuff and I can't recommend him highly enough. Plus the gym doesn't smell weird!

Excellent direction and assistance. After just a month I am stronger, more energetic, and losing the weight I wanted to. I look forward to each new session. A life changer! Colt considers each individual’s capabilities, limitations and goals when assisting them. His workout videos in private gyms for stretching and weight workouts are excellent too. I highly recommend him!

I’ve been working out at Colt’s gym for almost three years and I just love it! It’s hard to decide what I like better - his tailored workouts or him as a person. Both are absolutely first rate! He’s more than a coach, he has also become a friend.

40plus is a great spot, very nice private gym. And Colt is a very good personal trainer!! I had never been a gym going person, i went to him with an injury, and am still working out and lifting weights 3 years later. I’m 60 and never been stronger or felt in better shape, thanks to Colt, and his good work

I have had the pleasure of working with Colt for seven years. I do not use the word "pleasure" lightly, as working out in a gym was never something I enjoyed. But Colt's approach to personal training was perfect for what I needed. He provides accountability, a supportive learning environment, and an adaptive approach to the individual's needs. My health has improved and whenever I miss a week or workouts, my body tells me!

Colt is a great trainer! He provides clear direction, safe equipment, and a diverse set of exercises that are effective and not boring. He encourages without being pushy, and he can modify any exercise to accommodate injuries or older bodies. I highly recommend 40+ Personal Training.

I have been working out with Colt for 3 years. I feel like the workouts have saved me. The work has helped improve my cycling, hiking and other activities as a result of the strength training and mobility he offers. Colt is able to individualize work outs to adjust for injuries. He is always helpful and has offered flexibility on the schedule when I've needed it. I am a 65 yo woman.

I stumbled across 40+ a few months ago, and it was the best thing I have ever done for myself. I love the personal attention and the friendliness of the owner. The gym is well equipped and geared towards those of us over 40’s. I have gained both strength and flexibility. 40+ offers mobility, weights and conditioning opportunities. What I appreciate most, is working out by myself rather than a group setting. This is confidence-building. Thanks Colt!

40 Plus Personal Training has change my fitness level and transformed my body for the better. Over the past 2 years, I have seen such positive changes of my muscles, core and balance. Colt works around my various ailments. The best part is that every work out is different, seriously—I have never done the same work out twice. Colt works hard to keep exercise interesting and fun. Everyone should do this!!

40 Plus Personal Training provides a variety of ways to ensure that you won’t get old, you’ll just get better! I started with just the strength training and slowly began to see the benefits. I soon added the mobility training and no longer needed to see a physical therapist for a longstanding shoulder injury. When I eventually added the conditioning training I no longer became winded when playing with my son. Colt will give you all the tools you need to get healthy and enjoy the best years of your life. Start now, your future self will thank you!

Colt's style of training is exactly what I needed to get headed back down the path to fitness. I am easily bored with the same ol' workouts and equipment. That's not going to happen with 40+. Colt changes up the workouts every time and is frequently upgrading his equipment and finding new ways to challenge his clients. He knows not all bodies are created equal and many of his clients, me included, have previous injuries and limitations. He is always willing to offer suggestions for substituting moves when body parts are hurting or because of body mechanic limitations. I appreciate the one-on-one training style as I'm not a fan of group classes. Colt keeps the gym and equipment clean and organized, which makes it an inviting environment to workout.

Cannot recommend 40 Plus Personal Training enough. I started working with Colt following a back surgery and was quite debilitated. He has helped me regain all strength and mobility and I'm able to do more than I have in years. His routines are always fun, safe, effective and never boring. Thank you Colt!

Colt has been great in helping me to rehabilitate my shoulder from a past motorcycle accident and my hip from recent replacement. He will focus on injured areas, but also include a total body workout in the process. His workouts never get old, as he mixes things up and often changes the routines which is refreshing after past repetitive experiences in other gyms. Colt is also very flexible and will work with your schedule and and try to fit you in if unexpected issues arise. My wife also has started working with Colt recently too. He's a good guy and fun to work with. We highly recommend Colt if you are looking for longterm total fitness help and overall improvement of your 40+ lifestyle.

Colt continues to show great patience with me as he teaches me new resistance moves to strengthen my body. He is encouraging and positive.
When I have a puzzled look, he immediately demonstrates the exercise. He is always prepared for class. He sanitizes the weights and mats after each use.

Being over 70 years old I'm very concerned about safety. Colt always takes the time to demonstrate the correct way of doing exercises and makes modifications if you have issues with specific body parts (arthritic shoulder). He continuously does his research finding new exercises and equipment to strengthen muscles, making each session fresh and non repetitive. Over the past two and a half years I feel my strength, balance and flexibility have improved considerably thanks to Colt.

Getting in shape over 40 isn't much fun. I've found gyms to be intimidating, and generally uncomfortable. At 40 Plus Personal Training, it's pretty much just me. I can work at my own pace, for the most part. There is some push to the training along with a few corny jokes. It's all in good fun and the result is that I keep going back. I highly recommend 40 Plus Personal Training.

So very thankful I found this personal trainer! He took the time to understand my goals, then helped me achieve them. I’m 60, petite and had begun losing muscle mass. Since training with Colt, I’ve gained muscle and feel so much stronger and healthier. My husband loves that when he hugs me, I no longer feel fragile. The workouts grow tougher gradually, so you don’t get injured. But, they are still TOUGH! Every workout is a bit different and the exercises are in a particular order to fatigue certain muscle groups, very important for my goal. This is something that has worked so well for me that I’ve committed to it for as many years as I can. Thanks, Colt!

I've been working with Colt for over five years now and have seen significant benefits in strength, coordination, flexibility and balance. His ability to group exercises together to focus on specific areas, while allowing for physical limitations is a key factor in my individual path to better fitness. I highly recommend!

I found Colt after a knee surgery. I had been doing physical therapy and felt that moving into personal training would best suit my needs. I rehabbed my knee and enjoyed working with him enough that I have continued to work with him. He has adapted my workouts over a few years to fit my current needs. Colt is easy to recommend as I enjoy his low key approach with positive results.

I hate to work out and knew that I should but did not. We met colt about a year ago and he inspired us to work out 3 days a week and it really has changed my life. I move better, feel better, and I'm healthier. I thought about joining a gym but knew that I would pay a fee and never go. I have recommended him to numerous clients. Thanks

My job requires me to be physically fit, but as I grow older, this was becoming more difficult. I've been training with Colt for over 3 years now. I consider it a part of my health plan. He takes the time and effort to learn your limitations. He has helped me change my eating habits, get strong and I end up with much fewer injuries from my daily physical job. Thanks Colt, you ROCK

I've been training with Colt about a year. We both consider my first ten months a "warm up" because I didn't put my full heart, my full effort into it. Something "clicked" for me in November last year. My son visited and taught me a few things about eating healthy. (Thanks, Wid!) And I committed myself to digging in and putting my all into getting healthier, becoming more physically fit and increasing my endurance, stamina and daily energy. I've only had one fibromyalgia day since that time, too. It was much more frequent than that before this. I haven't missed a training (I did have to postpone to the following day 2 or 3 times since November, but I didn't miss) and I've been attending early morning boot camp. I do it because I'm committed. When you're retired (early) it would be VERY easy not to get up to be at a gut wrenching training at 6:30 in the morning. (That's gut wrenching for a 59 year old who's out of shape We laugh (when I can catch my breath...ha, ha!) and he encourages. He pushes, but not beyond my capabilities. I can't say enough good about Colt and 40+ Personal Training.
