Gym definitely isn’t open 24 hours as it claims. I went out today at 5 pm to look for a gym to sign up with and at the door I was greeted by a kind gym goer who explained that the staff went home, and that they were closed.

When I mentioned the 24 hour thing, he said it was only open 24 hours for members, even though I was fully willing to become one right then.

I then proceeded to drive half a mile to planet fitness and got signed up in 10 minutes, I had a great workout!!

I used to have a membership here before I moved to Texas. Every time I come back to visit, I get a week long membership here. They technically don’t have a week long membership, but for $20 a month, it’s perfect. It’s clean. Weights are fantastic. Staff is super friendly. There is a reason I always go back to either the Courthouse or Athletic Edge! Also, I grew up with one of the owner’s daughters and they’re a great family!

Fantastic gym all around. Only thing to consider is that the wifi sucks most of the time. I recommend downloading whatever your going to listen to or just use cell service.

Solid equipment, good community, and the front desk staff are cool. The only real issue, though not a big one—more of a pet peeve—is with some of the trainers. Most of them are friendly and personable, but a few act like your training is an inconvenience, even when they’re not with clients. Doing lunges? Too bad, they have to stretch exactly in your line. Going to the bathroom or getting water? Too bad, they’ve claimed your rack or DBs.

Overall, it’s a great gym—probably the best in the valley for the price and atmosphere. Going to continue to recommend it to others.

You'll find everything you need for a fine workout at Athletic Edge. They have tons of different kinds of machines as well as a fine selection of free weights and multiple stations for power lifting. There are a variety of choices for cardio, plus a boxing/mma, area, an open area for cross fitness and lots of cable machines. It's a great place for those who are serious about training. I give it 4 stars because it could be cleaner, it is a bit worn in spots, and the locker spaces is quite limited.

I love this place! Cheaper than the purple judgement zone and open 24/7. If you’re afraid of anything like really sweating or a real place to workout instead of a peacock strut farm, might not be the place. I’ve been going to Athletic Edge for about 8 years and I have very mixed feelings on it now.
I miss the good ol days when half of the gym was just batting cages and a rack of free weights lol.
Equipment wise, this gym is great for anyone starting weight lifting or casual gym goers. If you’re more advanced in the gym, I can only say that Athletic Edge is a good fit for you if you’re needing something that’s 24/7. In that case, this is perfect for you. Otherwise, be prepared to deal with rack-hogging teenagers and an overpopulated space. There’s other gyms out there but thankfully Athletic Edge is my go-to when my main gym is closed (forever grateful).
Unfortunately, the size of this gym can no longer hold the amount of people that workout here.
I’ve also noticed that it seems like owners care a bit more about the courthouse. I can understand that, but the fact that it took this long to invest a bit more in small and necessary equipment (such as new rope attachments when the old ones were hanging on by literal threads) for AE bums me out.
Most of my interactions with staff have been amazing. Although, the crew that was on when Nick was managing was much better in MY personal experience. Seems like there’s a couple bland young kids there that might not seem approachable to new people. I’m also not there much during staffed hours, so take that with a grain of salt.
At the end of the day, I do really love Athletic Edge. I think it’s a bit harder for me to love it as much as others only because I’m used to being able to workout in a fairly open gym that was only investing in AE and not the courthouse as well.
For the price, it’s hard to beat. I recommend AE to anyone that asks me about getting into lifting.
I do hope to see more love and genuine care being put into this gym again. It seems more like quantity over quality now.
Rant over lol. There’s pros and cons- do your due diligence.

I briefly had a membership with the Athletic Edge. It's really basic there are much better gyms in the area with a lower monthly fee plus On multiple occasions the staff were rude and then after a couple of months covid started and my ex and i cancelled our memberships. we filled the form out online as asked and apparently they never cancelled my membership and continued to charge me for months and months. When I realized this they refused to give me any sort of a refund at all.

Clean place. Everyone that goes there keeps to themselves, and I really love that upstairs is a pretty quiet place to work out, doesn't get really crowded.

I go early in the morning so there's not alot of people, which makes your workout more enjoyable and there's more machines for one to use. I just really wished they would open back up at 2am, as it's more of a convenience for some of us to go at that time.

Althletic edge is great for a diverse group of gym goers. Open 24/7 & only $20 a month, it's a hard deal to beat. A cardio section with ellipticals, treadmills, & bikes & several TVs for entertainment. Upstairs has changed a bit through the years, it used to be the "womans section" but is now an open "studio" type of area with the same machines. Plenty of powerlifting equipment & variations made available to members. If you are wanting a gym with basketball courts, sauna, & day care, a membership upgrade is available for their other location "the courthouse".

Apparently I was being rude and ppl. Were complaining about me . Yet never had any thing like this happen to me before and when I asked to see what I did wrong ...was told it wasnt for me to see that they would decide if I could stay or not....after the fifth time having her "warn" me I told her i didnt didn't have time for her games...i told them to keep the 20 dollars. Athletic Edge is a great gym with lots of equipment and free weights. The recent remodel with a separate upstairs is nice. The only con is that the floor could use more vacuuming and machines could be cleaned a little more often. That's very minor, though. Can't beat it for the great low monthly membership fee.

It is a good gym but it has its downsides. My issues are based on the size of the gym. The facility is too small and they waste a lot of decent space with their indoor soccer area. There seems to be a ton of machines but a lack of benches. Whenever I went to the gym ( I mean every time) all the benches were occupied and nearly every piece of equipment was in use. I have picked up a membership with them three times for various reasons. However it wasn't until returning to Medford and picking up a second membership that I realized they were just too full. I cancelled and tried a few months later, no surprise still full. No use in having a membership when you can't work out freely.

I used to go to athletic edge, and chose to leave for a facility with "better equipment, and a slightly better price". When I told the staff I was leaving, they all said the same thing. "You'll be back!". And damned if they weren't right. I miss athletic edge so much. The facility is cleaned regularly. The people are kind to eachother (for the most part), and the staff are excellent and willing to help. When I left, my new gym immediately took advantage of me and my gym partner, getting us to commit for 2 years, cash up front, under completely false pretenses. At this point I am stuck for another year and a half. But at a.e. I was charged a flat 20 a month, and signing up was easy, as well as cancelling being a breeze. Don't get caught up by the sparkle of the bigger gyms. This place has heart, and it's worth every penny.

this gym is perfect for all your needs. membership is only $20 a month with no contract and no sign up fee. only an extra $10 to activate your keyfob on first visit. they have great helpful staff members and the other gym members are also helpful. they do have 2 showers and 24 hour access to gym so you can fit your work out in on a schedule that works for you. thanks to Athletic Edge i was able to kick start my weight loss journey and i'm closer to my fitness goals.
