The instructors are all excellent with kids (and adults). They treat everyone with absolute respect, regardless of talent. Aurora is a wonderfully encouraging and supportive environment that still challenges you to be better than you were yesterday. Can't recommend it enough!

If you or your kids are interested in martial arts you should be here. These folks are fantastic! They are the real deal when it comes to karate, but it's about so much more than that for them. They use karate to teach self discipline, confidence and respect. They have had a HUGE impact on my kids and me. They are definitely people who I'm thankful to have as part of my village.

My daughter has been attending for 2 months now. Itβs the most incredible place in corvallis to learn karate. The owner is amazing. His son and daughter who run the desk and all the classes are phenomenal. Donβt look any further or try any place else. This is the place to be. My daughter would go every single day if they offered it. Teaches discipline, hard work, and integrity in volumes. Amazing parking and facility as well

We have had such a great experience at Aurora! The instructors are exceptional with the kids. I've been impressed with how they teach and demonstrate self-control and mindfulness. I've noticed positive growth in my son since starting karate here. Also, the schedule works great for us after school twice a week.

All my kiddos love the little gym of Corvallis. They have classes for all ages of kiddos; even a waiting area where you can watch your kiddo work on skills and succeed with some serious fun. Watching their faces light up when they learn a new skill or make a friend is best. Siblings are always welcome in the waiting area where they have some coloring and other ways to keep siblings entertained with some fun.

I started training martial arts here 2 months ago and have been enjoying it. Everyone is really friendly, patient, and trying to help you. I was interested in learning about philosophy of martial arts and have been consistently learning through teaching of instructors here. There were people from all sort of background and age groups. I am an adult of age around 30 and feel very easy to blend in. Overall, I have had great experience and will continue to work on improving my skills and my belt.

My two children started at Aurora about 2 months ago. My oldest had been wanting to do martial arts but my youngest only wanted gymnastics. After doing a 10 week program of gymnastics my youngest was willing to give Aurora a try. I found online the trial program of 2 weeks and called to sign my kids up. From the first phone call the staff was super helpful. We came to the first semi private lesson and Ms. Jaime did a fantastic job of explaining everything to my girls. Second class they joined the white belts and my youngest announced she was willing to come back but not participate, only observe. At check in we told Ms. Jaime this and she said no problem. My oldest jumped in and my youngest watched. After a bit Ms. Jaime came and sat next to my youngest, "Why do you just want to watch today?" My youngset replied, "Because I like gymnastics more than Karate". "Did you know that there are gymnastic moves in Karate? Watch, I can do the splits!" Which Ms. Jaime went on to do which made my daughter laugh. "Come with me over to the mat and I can show you other gymnastic moves that we use in karate." My daughter followed Ms. Jaime over to the mat and was very excited to learn these moves. At home she announced that she was willing to go back if Ms.Jaime was the teacher. Since that time my youngest has really enjoyed coming and loves learning from each of the instructors. What I appreciated most right away was how Ms. Jaime and the other teachers did not force my children or other kids to participate. They seem to really pause and look at how to connect. That was the perfect approach with my youngest because she is the type that is the type that wants to observe and have it be their decision to participate. Also the process of paying for classes was explained really well to me.

I started about a month ago as a white belt. There's a lot of good to say about this place. The atmosphere is energetic and focused and the program is well worth the cost for the attention they give to technique and the physical benefits. The level of discipline is not as high as I'm used to coming from a military background and different martial art (briefly as a teenager), but I'm also hard on myself. Which has not gone unnoticed. If you show the effort, they'll give you the attention you need to succeed I think and for most people I their encouragement of self-discipline would be beneficial.
I'd say that the pace is a bit too quick for my liking, but I'm a 40 year old guy who labors for work so I'm a little biased about how much I can handle. I think the idea is that at the start (for white belts) it's simply a matter of learning basic movements as oppose to honing in on power and accuracy. I personally want it all at once, but it's a family oriented business and as I mentioned I'm the type who's hard on myself.
If you want to get in shape and need something disciplined to focus on this would be your place! There's not much to lose with the intro deal (it's like 20 bucks and you get a t-shirt).

Great to have the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu going again now that COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted. I love the 10th Planet system that they teach, and the instructor Louie keeps the classes fun and interesting.

Aurora Martial Arts is first class! The classes are excellent. I love that they teach challenging concepts and also break it up with fun activities (running, floor exercises) so the kids donβt lose their focus. The instructors are firm in giving directions and positive, a win-win. Our son is excited about going to classes and we see that his focus is building even more thanks to Aurora!

I trained in American Kenpo at Aurora Martial Arts for 5 years through middle and high school. This was both my second family and my safe space - I studied, made close friends, worked, volunteered and trained here. The owners and instructors are an amazing group of people that really understand how to help someone grow holistically through mutual respect, patience, physical activity and tight-knit support from everyone both on and off the mat. I moved away from Corvallis after college, and have investigated a few other schools in the Portland area, but always find myself comparing them to Aurora, which set the bar very, very high.

The character building skills incorporated during training is phenomenal. I am now 55 years old and still benefit from the skills I acquired 16 years ago. I have continued to develop myself in a positive manner and avoid anything that would reduce my physical health or mental growth because of the training I received. I am positive that anyone, child or adult, will benefit from training at Aurora Martial Arts.

I rarely review but this is a business and family well worthy of reviewing. A wonderful group of instructors that take the time to teach both young and old with integrity and purpose. A great place for kids (and adults) to learn Kenpo Karate. Our whole family takes classes there and I've personally been going for 2 1/2 years. The improvement in physical fitness and balance is a bonus. Can't recommend them enough.

My kids have been going to Aurora for a little over two years. I don't know if this review can really describe how happy I am that we made the decision to go here, but I'll give it a shot.
My kids (a girl and boy, currently 13 and 9, respectively) were not into competitive team sports. That did not fit their personality. My son asked to try karate (in the hopes of becoming a ninja, if I'm being honest) and I made my daughter tag along. They instantly fell in love with the Donadios. While it took a little longer for my daughter to commit to doing this long term, she is currently on her way to her goal of getting her black belt before she graduates high school. So is my son.
Karate isn't their life, but they love it and they love Aurora. The Donadios made us all feel like family there and I'm always so happy to see how my kids come alive while they are in class. They not only learn karate skills and get athletic training, they learn the skills to be a good person and member of the community. Most importantly, they have fun.
It isn't always easy, and it requires a lot of work from my kids, but they see their improvements and they want to keep working.
Aurora has fantastic instructors, a great program for kids (and adults), and offers the opportunity to learn a lot of skills while in a fun environment.

This is an awesome place for learning martial arts. All the instructors are very good and pay most attention to students learning. The best thing about this place is that it is run by the members of the whole family and there is so much personal touch involved. I would recommend this place to any one who plans on learning martial arts.

"Good afternoon! We're having a fantastic day at Aurora Martial Arts!" This is the greeting one hears when they call Aurora Martials arts and is reflective of the gregarious and friendly atmosphere within the school. Aurora Martial Arts is a family run and family focused school providing excellent instruction in American Kenpo, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Escrima, and Self-Defense. Exceptional instructors set high expectations while fostering a patient, enthusiastic, caring and supportive environment. Daily training is often energetic, intense, and fun. The Team-Work approach has everyone, instructors and students, working together to foster individual success developing awareness, fitness, confidence, discipline, respect, and courage. Our family has been training with Aurora Martial Arts since 2009 and have found them to be excellent with kids, teens, and adults, sensitive to different learning styles, and always welcoming. We are quite proud to be part of this outstanding school and honored to count them as friends and "Kenpo" family.

If you're looking for American Kenpo in the mid-Willamette Valley; this is the place to go. If you're looking for a good workout, where you'll be challenged both mentally and physically, look no further.
The Donadio family are the real deal. They have the skills that they teach, and lead by example.

Aurora has the best martial arts experience I can imagine!! The Donadio family are amazing instructors and administrators! They approach Kenpo with a positive attitude that results in fun, sweat, and practical self defense knowledge. While many schools cater only to kids, Aurora has separate classes for adults and I have seen three generations of a family attending various classes throughout the day and week. Because this is a full time school with a dedicated location almost any schedule can fit in a few classes a week. Jiu-Jitsu classes are also available and I can personally attest to its effectiveness! I took Kenpo here for around a decade and it is what I miss most about Corvallis. No matter how I arrived I always left in a good mood!

A local family run business worth supporting! They treat my kids like family and we love this place. The instructors are great with children of all ages and are genuinely concerned with your child's growth and success. Great role models for children, the adults as well as the other students in the school.
