Blue House Fitness has been life-changing for me. it is more than just a gym, it is a community with supportive coaches, nutritional guidance, food offerings, a recovery room, and a personal programming option to help meet your goals. In just a year, I've gained over 10 pounds of muscle and lost 4% body fat, which is unreal! I'm feeling better in my 40s than I ever did in my 30s. I can't recommend Blue House Fitness enough.

UPDATE: I’ve been with BH since January and it’s now late spring. The love I have for this place grows exponentially each day.
The workouts make me feel powerful and capable. I’m also so impressed with the amount of help and support I’ve received during classes from the coaches. The members and the coaches are truly starting to feel like family. My mental health is at its best when I’m spending time at BH. I feel so lucky to have found this community 💛
INITIAL REVIEW: I hope this review speaks to a postpartum mom who is feeling lost in her body and low on self esteem. Maybe that's too much to put out on the internet, but honestly the mental and physical support I've gained in the short time I've been a member of Blue House Fitness is life changing.
A friend of mine, who does CrossFit in Port Angeles helped me find Blue House based on their reviews, proximity to my house, and their fitness methodology. I was 20 months postpartum and feeling pulled to get back to an active lifestyle. I also wanted to pursue a fitness journey that focused more on heavy weight lifting over cardio related fitness, which is what I focused on pre baby (and honestly for my entire young adult life.)
I would be lying if I said I wasn't intimated by the idea of this style of work out, but my coach Marina was so welcoming and kind on my first day of on boarding. She not only made me feel supported, but like I could do anything as she cheered me on and encouraged me to push myself. I also really appreciated her strong focus on body mechanics. She breaks down movements that might feel intimidating and makes them approachable. Not only does this feel empowering but as the wife of Physical Therapist, I appreciate someone looking out for me so that I don't get injured. I already feel like I have a friend that really cares about me!
I also have noticed how humble people are in this gym. People aren't there to bro out and put off competitive vibes. People are there to work on themselves and to lift others up. The joy and the support in the gym is contagious and I always leave smiling, feeling like I can start my day on a positive note and come home to my almost 2 year old as better version of myself.
You can't put a monetary value on this place. It's worth all the money and more :) I just love these guys and feel so lucky to be a member at this gym!

I can't say enough good things about Blue House Mitness! From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and supported. I love this place! I needed some accountability, more motivation, and different movement in my workout routine. I found this hidden gem from google and have been going ever since. This establishment is different from everything I've heard about crossfit. The staff is amazingly supportive, patient, and encouraging. The other members are very welcoming. Anton is incredibly skilled and takes the time to tailor the workouts and movements we do so they help me meet my fitness goals. I never thought I’d be writing a love letter to a CrossFit gym, yet here I go. Despite being recommended by a good friend, I was sooo so nervous to step into a CrossFit space (cue dramatic sweating before even working out-haha), but from day one, this place has been nothing but welcoming, inclusive, and encouraging. They took the time to understand my previous injuries, concerns, and goals BEFORE getting started. They actually listened, made me feel heard, and tailored everything to set me up for success. That level of care made getting started so exciting rather than intimidating.
I was lucky to be one of the first (I THINK?) to try their personal programming, and let me tell you—10/10. I did my onboarding with Marina (who is amazing!!) and have continued with her, learning more about my body, muscles (yes, I do have them!), and mental health than I ever thought possible. It’s not just about lifting heavy things and sweating buckets. It’s about a WHOLE-istic approach to movement, mindset, and feeling strong in every way.
So if you’re even thinking about checking them out—do it! I personally guarantee you'll be glad you did. And if you see me, say hi… or just give me a nod while we both try to catch our breath. 😆

Recently joined Blue House Fitness to take my weight lifting goals to the next level and I was immediately blown away with how amazing Blue House is. I just completed my onramp with Coach Marina and it was amazing to work with someone so positive and showed me how strong I am. She walked me through the basics of crossfit to set a base level for myself and set me up to keep going up from there. She's always willing to answer the million questions I have and knows how to pump me up to do my best. I'm excited to continue my weight lifting journey here and see the progress I will make with assistance of all the coaches and amazing community here. Everyone has been super welcoming and supportive since I've been going. The amenities here are also amazing and have everything that I need to be on my fitness and nutrition journey.

Incredible gym I was lucky to be a part of when I spent 3 months in PDX.
I travel a lot and have dropped many CrossFit gyms. Blue House is the cleanest and most thoughtfully laid out gym I have been a part of.
Most importantly the coaches really do care about making sure each member is being challenged no matter what level you are.
Recovery room features sauna, cold plunge and recovery boots and was my happy places pre/post work out.
Only gym I will be going to when I am back.

I participated in a workout class run by the instructor Mick. He did a fantastic job. I haven’t been to the gym in awhile and to be honest, I was a bit worried going to a CrossFit class. But he structured it so I got a great workout and was able to keep up with the group at my own pace. Awesome staff, super modern and nice facility, would recommend.

I love the idea of this gym but I unfortunately did not have a great experience. I came in new to training after all the isolation from Covid, got started with trainers who pushed me too hard and was injured by the second session. I spoke with the manager before the second month started about my injury and they still charged me for the second month. Sorry to Blue House for the not great review, I understand contracts but this felt ridiculous considering how expensive this membership is.

I started going to Blue House about 5 months ago to get more active because I wasn't really into exercise before. I wasn't sure about trying CrossFit because it sounded a bit intimidating to me. But I quickly found out that CrossFit isn't just for super fit people, and Blue House is really good at welcoming everyone, no matter their fitness level. The coaches and everyone in the community are super friendly and supportive. Even though I'm still learning and building myself up, I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to get started with their fitness journey!

What makes Blue House the best gym in Portland are the staff and the community. Super supportive folks who all work as hard at lifting each other up as they do on their own fitness goals. The various programs ensure they have options for everyone looking to get healthier through fitness and nutrition. This gym is my favorite place. In just 6 months of being a member I’ve found a loving community while increasing my fitness, resilience, and self-love. CrossFit is hard! If you are like me and need workout accountability partners who will encourage you no matter where you are in your fitness journey, then Blue House Fitness is the place to go. As someone who has not taken my health seriously enough over the years, I am so happy that I took the plunge and joined my first class here at Blue House. I was intimidated at first, but those anxieties dissipated over just a few classes because there were so many people there willing to help me and encourage me. Anton and Courtney (the founders) do a wonderful job welcoming people, and this openness is exuded by their staff as well (shoutout to Miguel who is one of the best trainers of anything, not just fitness, whom I have ever worked with). I can say so many nice things about this place, but you should just come by and check it out yourself…it’s pretty amazing (and the facility is top-tier to match the community)!

Fantastic CrossFit-style gym - and a lot more. Big beautiful space. Recovery room with cold plunge tub, sauna, percussive massage guns. Co-working space. Full kitchen (where they offer cooking classes). But the best thing about Blue House is the people. The coaches are excellent at meeting you wherever you’re at in your fitness journey and helping you progress at a pace that is both challenging and comfortable. The community is supportive of one another and inclusive, welcoming people of all fitness levels, races, orientations, gender identities, etc. I was a member before the 2020 pandemic, took some time off, then started up again about a year ago. I’m so glad I did. The workouts and the community have unquestionably had a positive impact on my life.

Blue House is such a great gym! There are members with all levels of fitness, from those that don't know how to lift a barbell to elite athletes. What's best is that the coaches do an excellent job of scaling the workout to where you, personally, are on in your fitness journey. So while it may be intimidating - it's not! Anyone can do these workouts, and the community will celebrate every win with you.
They've added a recovery space, mobility and cooking classes, and different workshops and intensives. There's a lot going on and likely more to come. Can't recommend enough!

Yes, it is a crossfit gym, but really, it is so much more. It is a community of support. I love going to Blue House because they have lots of class times, an easy to use app to reserve spots, track progress, and communicate to coaches and individuals, and they are constantly improving and adding fun options, e.g. cooking classes, open work space, etc.

Blue House met me where I was at and has helped me achieve things I never thought possible in my fitness. BH had a special brand of crossfit that is rooted in great people from diverse backgrounds. You are encouraged to work at your pace with friendly and gentle encouragement. Those who want to be pushed can find that here, but those who just want to work out and get a good sweat going are also well supported. A very special place. I have been on and off exercising for years and I have always resisted enrolling in a gym. Blue House helped me to change my mind and get me into a routine. I am a 72 year old woman who wants to be active. The Blue House provides me with all I need: great coaches, great facility, and a fantastic community. In addition, all the exercises I do are appropriate to my skill level and help me to improve my strength and to keep my mobility. I joined around July 2022. I was looking for a push to level up my at-home workouts and a friend recommended Blue House. I joined the gym thinking short-term training tips but have stayed for the inclusive, come-as-you-are community that continues to push me to be a stronger version of myself both physically and mentally (shout out to Coach Al who puts up with my occasional complaining). Added benefit, my achy knees no longer ache, and I can move furniture and put my suitcase in the overhead compartment without asking for help. These may be small things, but I feel like a friggin badass. Highly recommend to anyone who wants a change for the better.

After just three months, I can say with certainty that Blue House is a special place. The facility is fantastic, spacious, stocked with great equipment. The extras are a great bonus, with cooking and nutrition classes, a lifesaving recovery room, and a coworking space. The workouts are varied, challenging, and adaptable to ensure you’re getting the most out of the attentive, motivating coaches. Fitness-wise, I already have seen incredible results. Blue House puts on the BEST events and the slack channel is popping, should you want to participate. Classes are affordable and super high quality, with coaching baked in throughout each class. They welcome people from all walks of life and all sizes, and truly 'walk the talk' when it comes to inclusion. You could be a new mom hoping to do something for yourself that helps you feel strong, or a 75-year-old badass wanting to keep learning and growing - there is something for everyone. I joined Blue House a couple weeks ago and I've loved my experience. This is first time joining a CrossFit gym and I don't think I'll ever go back to 24 Hour Fitness. I love Blue House because the community is so fun and welcoming to all kinds of people. I'm no athlete, but I do want to age well and I just won't strength train on my own. The coaches are friendly, super knowledgable and encouraging regardless of your fitness level. I'm really glad I followed my intuition to check this place out. Well worth the investment!

I recently was looking for a new gym to call home and was overwhelmed by how welcoming the Blue House Fitness community is! I had followed them a bit on Instagram so had a feeling they were awesome and that was made real from the moment I booked my 1 on 1 intro session!
Never has a gym been so welcoming up front and also diligent in making sure my onboarding is smooth - checking in to make sure I got set up with Wodify for signing up for classes and tracking workouts, on the Slack channel for staying in touch with the community, etc.
They also have all sorts of events! A low back workshop, an open mic night, a concert, etc. all on the agenda in the next few weeks. I'm hooked and am looking forward to their giant new state of the art space opening early 2022!

Blue House is amazing. An experience in itself, and I was only part of their remote program. They are building something special there in Portland and I wish I could be a part of their in person community, but I am plugged in digitally from across the country. Would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a community approach to health and fitness, and Anton, Courtney, and the crew are sure to get you there. This isn't just a gym, it's a destination, it's a community, and it's fantastic. The world needs more Blue House.

I discovered blue house fitness in early 2021 and I'm so happy that I did! This community is so supportive of all levels of fitness. It is a great place to meet and exceed your fitness goals no matter where you are and have a great time doing it. The coaches are outstanding, cannot stress this enough! Don’t be afraid that it’s “CrossFit”. Workouts are all tailored to the individual with great instruction. The classes are periodized well moving toward goals each month. It’s a great, warm community!

This is adult PE class at its most fun! Supportive staff, positive environment, even fellow gym goers who cheer you on. You show up, do your best, and feel like a million bucks. They also do personal training sessions, you can see a nutritionist and more. What an incredible asset to our community.

Blue House has been amazing for me, mentally and physically. I love running, biking and swimming but I rarely lifted weights for a workout. I have been going to Blue House for about 6 months now and I already feel a lot stronger and my form is getting better! I never saw myself as a gym rat before because I much rather be outside exercising than being inside a gym, but after doing strength training, I have noticed that I am running faster and I have more endurance.
Before coming, I thought I would be super embarrassed that I could not lift as much as everyone else. However, the coaches are very good at meeting your individual needs as an athlete and everyone is super supportive and no one makes you feel bad if you come in last or can't lift as heavy as them.
The Blue House community is so positive and supportive. I never really worked out in the mornings, but it has been the best way to start my day- spending it with my Blue House fam. The mornings that I choose not to workout, I feel sluggish all day.
I also started doing personal training sessions with Coach Brian. This has helped me tremendously, especially with my form!
If you live or work in the St. John's area, I cannot recommend this gym enough!

I love this place. I've never been but they are my neighbors. Today they all got together with their yard tools and cleaned up the neighborhood. They brought their kids and were smiling the whole time. No fundraising. No sales, tips, or requests; and they politely refused when I offered them water or tea. But they mowed our entire yard, swept the sidewalk and walk, and brought amazing energy in to the neighborhood. They cleaned up and mowed every single yard in a 2 block radius.
Please, even if you don't patronize them... Stop by and tell them they are awesome. Because they are a wonderful addition to the community. I hope this place is here forever. If you ever want lemonade or something on a hot marathon day or coffee or hot tea on a cold one.... please let me know and I will try to help you out. 💕💕💕

Small Crossfit Box with super friendly coaches. Perfect for all levels of fitness from age 3 - 75. I thought all CF was a bunch of dudes throwing big olympic weights around. It is for literally everyone. I have learned so much here and my body has changed for the better with the functional movement. Highly recommend!

I've never been athletic or played sports. I'd heard of CrossFit but it intimidated me, I thought it was all hardcore bros... Until I walked into here. I went because it was the closest gym to my house. I stay because I love it. I exercise more and harder than I ever have before in my life. I feel healthy, I've lost weight. I have more energy throughout my days, and the people are the most friendly and welcoming strangers I've ever met. It's kept the winter blues at bay better than anything I've ever tried.
Don't be intimidated by the word "CrossFit"--if I can do it (and love it) with my utter lack of coordination and athleticism, you can too.
