I'm sharing this experience to help other parents make informed decisions about childcare safety at this location.

On September 23, 2025, I checked my three children (ages 8 months, 4, and 6) into the Kids Club around 5:15 PM. When I returned approximately 15 minutes later, I observed my 8-month-old daughter sitting alone in a corner by the large play structure, approximately 15-20 feet from the two staff members who were seated at a table. During the 30 seconds I watched through the window, no adult approached her while several older children were running and playing actively in the same area.

The facility has a policy requiring staff to remain within 3 steps of infants at all times that parents read and sign before allowing their children to be at Kids Club. This policy was not being followed.

When I discussed this with the shift lead that evening (no managers were available on-site), we reviewed security footage which showed:

1. Staff placing my infant in the middle of the room alone, then walking away to sit down
2. My daughter crawling away from supervision toward the play equipment area
3. An older child stepping over her while carrying a toy bike overhead
4. A near-miss incident with another child on a riding toy
5. Staff taking approximately 30 seconds to retrieve her from the unsupervised area

IMPORTANT FOR PARENTS TO KNOW: Gym childcare facilities may be exempt from Oregon's childcare licensing requirements if parents remain on the premises. This means they may not be subject to the same supervision standards, staff training requirements, or safety regulations that apply to licensed childcare centers, which require staff to maintain sight and sound contact with children at all times and follow specific staff-to-child ratios.

I've notified management in writing about these supervision gaps. Parents of mobile infants should be aware that the posted safety policies may not be consistently followed during busy periods, and regulatory oversight may be limited.

The gym facilities themselves are good, but I cannot recommend the childcare services based on this experience.

When COVID first hit, I had filled out all the forms & paperwork for insurance coverage.., but then decided to just let CAC keep billing until I felt comfortable going back. I figured it could help in some small measure to keep the gym afloat as times were tight. Sadly, shortly thereafter I ended up in & out of the hospital with other issues. When I went back, they had dropped my membership without any notification! 🧐

So I filled out the paperwork AGAIN last year, then got busy with the Cardio Rehab at the hospital. (Was also cautious about indications that COVID might be reasserting itself.) When I went back ready to restart my workouts recently at CAC, was told I had to redo paperwork all over again before I could return! Arrgh 😣 Once again, NO notification!

Do they just not want customers?!?
Or more interested in running a bureaucracy than a business?

As for rude staff, most (especially the younger staff, and the ones teaching classes) are kind, attentive, and helpful. However, a number of what seems like middle management (perhaps ownership family?) seem to just be putting in time, putting up with customers, and generally cold if not outright rude. And definitely give off the vibe of not really wanting to be there. May I suggest if this is second generation just there because it’s ’the Family Business’, do yourself and everyone else a favor and go find a career you actually enjoy!

I absolutely love CAC! I value my health and fitness and always look forward to working out. I spend most of my time in group fitness but also enjoy free weights upstairs.

Nice full service club with a great staff. New remodel bathroom is much better. Normally clean and good working order. Bad news and good news, the club exercises area under remodeling. Most all the machines are in closed off area. No access for 2 1/2 months. I am 68 year olds and don't use free weights because of my age and no spotters. So my monthly fees are going to a club I can't use.

I love Cascade! They have all the equipment you may need plus amazing classes like TRIBE. What originally brought me to Cascade was their top notch childcare. When I had my son in 2022 I needed a gym that I could trust and Cascade was the only one I could find. Not only is the staff amazing, they treat you like family. Wanted to enjoy the outdoor pool, not knowing there were 5 groups of swim lessons going on. I was told that at 11 there would be a roped off section for lap swim, but that's when more and more kids came in, not lap swimming. Playing around and jumping in. There was really no room for me to just lap swim. I was told at front desk to come at 7am to 8:30 am, to lap swim outside. Really? And that e ery day is like this. When can a person just enjoy the outdoor pool?

I mostly love this club. My family went as a kid and now I bring my own kids. My husband uses the open gym hours to play basketball multiple times a week, which has been great. Recent improvements to the women's locker room have been great. My only complaint is that the sauna in the women's locker room is always too cool. Sometimes it doesn't feel on but people are in there? The steam room is great, but sometimes I want to be away from men. Haha. Also, family hours are not very accessible to working families during the school year. We make up for it in the summer.

Cascade Athletic Club is a first rate facility with a skilled, pleasant Staff. Their offerings include racquetball, tennis, pickleball, pools (lap and recreational), weight room, exercise classes, saunas, jacuzzis…

Love this club, which has all the amenities one could ask for! Great for tennis as they have 5 indoor courts and several outdoor courts. In addition, they have an indoor pool, sauna, weight room with all equipment one could ask for, basketball courts, outdoor pool with kids water park area with water slide, and great staff! Tennus courts are easy to book and in great condition, which is what I care about most!

Although a bit expensive, it's worth it imo. Especially given its great location to me.

I PAY A FEE OF OVER $500 A MONTH AND I STRONGLY FEEL THE KIDS CLUB NEEDS TO UPGRADED.

I LIVE IN CAMAS AND YOU GUYS ARE THE ONLY CLUB I AM CLOSEST TO THAT HAS KIDS ACTIVITIES AND WE LOVE IT. STAFF ARE FRIENDLY. THANK YOU!

Great Pickleball facility, both indoor and outdoor courts. A great group of players / members.
The work out center with all the machines , weights & cardio equipment has large windows over looking the Pickleball & tennis courts which can take your mind off the grind on tread mill or bike as you work.
