Ok, I donβt golf, however my husband and son do. My youngest and I love to join by getting our own golf cart. Itβs a great way to get out, enjoy family time and the outdoors. The owner and employees are all super nice. I personally think there needs to be a bathroom on the front 9. Thereβs only 1 bathroom on the back 9. But definitely recommend heading out to the course!

Place is run down, range balls look like they should be in the ICU, decent price, but it's not worth your $$. Bandon Crossings is far better than this course if you are looking to play outside the resort 20 mins down the road. If you want to practice, go to the resort and support the BCF

Good, challenging course with greens that make you work at it. Late summer, so the fairways were dried out, common for many Coastal courses.
Nice driving range and practice green. Good carts, gas not electric, capable out getting you around the steeper paths.
Friendly staff!

Apparently, the sprinklers only work around the greens. The rest of the course is dead. Not a little dead, but all the way dead. I bet this was a nice course in its day, but is certainly not the case anymore. You can hit a drive directly in the middle of the fairway, and still lose it in the rough. Over and over again. They get prime $ for this. Go somewhere, anywhere else.

Pretty scenery but the course needs a lot of love. The fairways (I use term lightly) are dry and scorched and hard. The bunkers are laden with weeds and more dirt than sand. On a
positive note the greens were in good shape. Very disappointing for the price point.

Beautiful corse and challenging. It would be a lot better with some maintenance. Greens were nice. Fairways are mowed unevenly. Center shot and the grass is ragged and is more of second rough cut. The bunkers were last raked when Bobby Jones was playing. I enjoyed playing it, but finding reasonable lies on the fairways was challenging

Wonderful course. Challenging, challenging and well kept, especially the greens. Most courses have 2 or 3 featured holes, Coos Golf Club has 10-12.Very friendly staff with a hidden jewel of a golf course.

One of the nicest courses I've ever played. Grass is always perfect, well maintained. Can get a little wet in the winter. Bring extra balls, fairways are tight. This course makes me want to be a better golfer and is a great challenge.

The golf course is absolutely gorgeous, but the staff is horrible, we went today to golf and after being pushed aside and rudely told to wait, we were harassed and accused of stealing, the man working there followed me back to my car and forcefully opened my car door, it was a very unsettling experience, we did NOT steal anything, nor even had the pockets or bags large enough to steal anything, unless maybe he thought I stole a ball? None the less, he forced himself on my car and said rudely βgive me my stuff backβ he said this a few times, when I asked what was stolen he wasnβt able to answer, meaning he fully profiled us, without checking if anything was missing or the cameras, but assumed we had stolen and harassed us, this is not somewhere I suggest going if you are a women, it is not a safe course due to their employees. He wanted us to come back to the office with him so he could apologize, and we were not willing to go and he tried to force us to. Ladies, stay safe, and stay away. I suggest sunset instead.

Excellent little golf course tucked away in a quiet valley surrounded by farms. I was in town and teed off at 7 am for a quick nine holes. I soon found out this is a very challenging course, tiered tees, low rolling hills that hid the pin, soft greens and well-maintained fairways. I didn't have the time for a full 18 holes, but I will definitely make the time when I roll thru next year. You should make the time too!

Played 24th April, and enjoyed the experience. The range has top tracer, and the course plays a long 18. Some challenging par threes, and then the 12th.
Corby was so helpful, and look forward to another round.
As the weather pours on less rain will be more of a roll. No complaints 4 bogies and a birdie off tips.

Five stars for an excellent experience - from the time we were greeted by Andre to the starter who accompanied us to the tee box to explain the lay of the land and suggestions to how to play some holes. Each hole offered its own challenges and how best to approach the green. We got lost several times trying to figure out where some of the holes were and everyone was so helpful in redirecting us to the right hole. The facility is dated - a diamond in the rough, one that I can easily overlook while improvements are being made. I'm sure in its hey day it was an awesome club. Reasonable green fees, challenging course and superior staff. You guys are doing it right.

The American success story. First time playing here, from the person answering the phone to the guy behind the counter you felt welcomed. From what we were told this place used to be a dump. Not anymore! If I lived near here I would be playing here every day! They still have some improvements to make on the golf, bunkers need rebuilt, grass still needs work. They just bought a new mower. I belong to an old country club in Ohio. Met the owner when we were done and he told us how he had just bought the place and what's been done. All I can say is keep doing what you're doing and golfers will come. Enjoy

Been playing for 35 years...not a great player, but can get it on the dance floor here and there...this is possibly the best golf ever! Course doesn't back down...gonna make you work...but it's well maintained and the greens (day after fall maintenance) played fast and hard (so roll some on the practice greens before you go out)...but the best part of this course is the people. Will is an amazing host and the members (assumed) are gracious as well...played a nice 18 with my wife...no pressure...just a great afternoon...felt truly blessed to find and play this course! Will be back as soon as I can...Thanks Will!

Played here twice this past weekend (Aug 2021), great track with awesome greens. Both nines are equally challenging. You must keep it in play to score well from the back tees. If you want to exercise and a have a great walk, skip the cart. Let er rip on 10 and 11 for good scoring opportunities.

Four of us from Surrey, BC dropped in on our way to Bandon Dunes and were teated royally by Alden and Richard. The Golf Course was a little wet due to the torrential rains the previous day but talk about a great layout. We walked the entire 18 holes. Let me tell you now, if you want a good walk this will give you a tough walk. Probably should have taken a power cart. Great Course.

I take my kids here to play. Well they are learning the game of golf. The staff is very friendly and very welcoming. Met one of the owners on a tournament day and she was very friendly. The driving range is nice and the practice putting greens and chipping area are perfect to teach the kids on and warm up before a round. They played their first 9 yesterday and had a blast course is well kept and has some great scenery. We will be back for sure. On a side not I'm in a wheelchair and the course has a cart path all the way around which made it easy for me to follow the kids as they played

Hooked! (but not in a bad golf shot sort of way). This place is a must visit for any golf trip. Some of the friendliest staff and owners you'll ever meet. Play 18 holes in the morning and you most likely run into the owners kids with a much better score than you have. Everyone is welcoming, the course is fun and loaded with history. This course alone makes me want to move to Coos Bay. I will be back.

challenging and affordable course
the first 3 holes are straight, flat and easy to play but good for warming
up. starting with hole no. 4 the course turns into the hills and changes
dramatically. it gets really hilly (but walkable), winding, up and down with
lots of slopes, sometimes very narrow and with very nice *signature*-holes.
greens, fairways and bunkers were very good.
as hazards you will face trees, water and wetlands.
green fee is 30$ (50$ at WE) walking β and for that you get some real nice golf in pure nature.

Watson Ranch, formerly the Coos Bay Country Club, has all the potential in the world to be a great course. The track is beautiful. When the dust settles and the full staff is on board, Watson Ranch should be a golf destination. For my money, William, who runs the pro shop is the kind of representative I'd want assisting me. William is a true gentleman who loves his course.
The course is far enough off the coast and high enough in elevation to miss much of the fog that may plague other courses. There is real potential here.

I don't normally write reviews, but when the exceptional case comes along, good or bay, it's worth sharing. Unfortunately it's for the latter. I've played countless courses as far as New England and Florida, and played along side pros and never once have I encountered such despicable management. Hassling, arguing, accusing -beyond rude, and all of this in the midst of women and children during a fundraising event when the entire course was pre-paid for for the day! And this wasn't just my experience; other people I had talked to had similar encounters. This is no Bandon Dune's (or anywhere close to it), and in such a small town word will spread when you treat people like that. I will never personally go back and I would never recommend anyone to go either. We left with another 9 holes still to play. If you're looking for a nice place, don't go here.
