If you are looking for an alternative to the everyday gym experience you can look no further as I can't recommend Conerstone Calisthetics enough. When it comes to exercise, my main problem has always been consistency - I was always able to find a reason NOT to work out. Since I've found Conerstone Calisthetics, I've never been so motivated to wake up at 5:30am, drive 20 mins and get into a program that leaves me sweating, satisfied, and feeling strong. Bret and Meg are an inspiration - attentive to every body in the gym, careful to prevent or exacerbate an injury, flexible in scheduling, and relentless in encouragement and keeping one accountable to continue to show up and give consistent progess. They meet you where you're at in your journey and encourage you to discover skills you didn't think you could ever do. And they don't just coach their program, they live it!

The trainers at CCG are excellent! I'm a 74 yr. old woman just returning to training. They adjust my training to my specific needs and coach me through the correct movements. They do this for every individual who is training with them. I use the Zoom option which fits my needs perfectly. I would recommend this gym to anyone at any stage of fitness and at any age. I have tried (and failed) at every exercise program since the Jane Fonda Workout. I’ve tried running, jumping rope, kickboxing, Nautilus machines – you get the idea. But, I have never found a program that makes as much sense as progressive calisthenics; or one that could actually get me to commit. Meg and Bret Hamilton have built the most effective and fulfilling strength and balance program I have ever seen. They offer a personal training workout that is designed specifically for where you are in your fitness journey – even if you’re at the very beginning. During class they are right there with you and available for support, instruction, revision, guidance – whatever you need. Their wealth of knowledge about exercise, the body, and smart nutrition is staggering. I have been working out regularly (3x a week) for almost two years; I feel great (mentally and physically,) my clothes fit better, and I am STRONG. There are small classes all day long – and you will find people of all ages striving for the same thing. Bret and Meg have an individual relationship with each client and they care very much about your success; it’s personal for real. And on a side note… Cornerstone is the most cost effective fitness coaching you will ever find. Whether reflected in the enthusiasm for improving the program, remembering each individual's particular quirks, or making frequent check-in with clients, they do an excellent job of meeting people where they are and helping them grow from there. It may seem like a slow process at first, but their goal is to gradually and safely help their clients to gain (or re-gain) strength, stability, and balance. They have a gentle, supportive approach (and the fellow clients are good company as well!).

I initially joined so that I could keep up with my kids. Then I saw the benefits begin to add up. My husband got involved, and it's the most consistent he has ever been at working out in the 25+ years I've known him. Our teenager has even trained here and has remarked about their improved track times.

Bret and Megan run a very unique and customizable program for Calisthenics that allows you to focus on pre-existing injuries, improve strength, and meet your health and fitness goals along the way.

Not only are they super accommodating and help you improve but they have great contacts that they refer to if something is outside of their scope.

They have never disappointed with a referral or when recommending a new way to look at an exercise because of the drive they have to help people improve.

Alright... After 10 years of working out at Cornerstone Calisthenics Gym (CCG), and 5 years since my last review, it's probably time for an update to my review 😅

While I've been here, I have struggled with my own fitness journey. I have struggled through with various mental, circumstantial, and physical issues, but every single time I come, Bret and Megan are more than willing to accommodate my body for how I feel that day.

Sometimes, I might be willing to push hard and conquer my workout. Other days, I could barely pull myself through the front door. Their programs allow for you to be able to meet yourself as you are the moment that you walk in through the door with no shame or judgment. They are legitimately just happy that you've showed up and that you're investing in yourself.

The other members that come are also amazing. CCG has a wonderful community of people from various walks of life. You're bound to find others that are just as warm and welcoming as Bret and Megan.

If you're curious about joining a gym community, I highly suggest it. I haven't seen another gym like CCG where they put in so much effort to have customized programs for each individual.

If you show up consistently and continually invest in yourself, Bret and Megan will help guide you through your fitness journey and you'll definitely be stronger for it.

After doing research on calisthenics, I knew I wanted to find a location to try it. My search lead me to Cornerstone Calisthenics where I was a member for 5 months. It’s a family run business, which you can really feel in the friendly and low-pressure vibe. One thing that stood out is their self paced learning model. When you join, you’re taught the foundational movements and then follow a structured program from an iPad (virtual training also an option). You’re in a small group setting of no more than 8 ppl, but everyone works at their own level, and the coach monitors the room to provide corrections and guidance.

It’s a good setup for those who like to learn independently but still want some feedback. Personally, I realized I respond better to 1:1 coaching, especially for something technique heavy mainly because I’d rather catch form issues immediately than incorrectly completing a few sets. My goal was more targeted performance improvement than recovery/maintaining basic function. So that part was a bit of a miss for me.

Also worth noting: the location is in Wilsonville, and since I don’t live or work nearby, making it to a class after my standard M-F workday & fighting traffic felt a little rushed with the last class starting at 6:30p. Weekend classes are only offered every other Saturday, but those fill up pretty quickly, so scheduling can be tight.

That said, if you’re someone who thrives in a structured, self driven environment, this setup could be a perfect match, especially if you’re local or like virtual instruction and looking for something that gradually builds strength through intentional movement or rehabilitating from an injury, I recommend checking out the program.

Have had patella tendenopothy for over 2 years. Had double knee surgery to try and repair my tendons but wasn’t completely successful. I have been coming to Cornerstone Calisthenics Gym for about 6 years and I have seen such an improvement in my strength and flexibility.
I was in a bad rear end accident 3.5 years ago and Bret and Megan did such an amazing job helping me assess what I could and couldn't do, which was anything that had to do with flexion was a no go for me. I felt like I had to regress in those flexion areas and yet it was all part of the healing process that I had to go through. Now I've made so much head way to pre accident that I'm so close to my hanging leg raises again. Woohoo!
Bret and Megan are very knowledge trainers that are constantly evolving in the Calisthenics arena to help us stay injury free, watching us closely so we do our exercises correctly and achieve our goals.

I've been a part of this gym for well over 5 years. When I started attending I was fairly strong but had a good number of balance and flexibility issues along with chronic sciatica. The training and techniques that I've learned have made significant improvements and have helped me to avoid further surgeries and other complications. Not only have I received excellent training, I've also gained a good number of friends due to the family atmosphere. I have also been given excellent referrals to physical therapists through this gym that have been very helpful. Bret is a "bodyworks" genius. If you have an issue with your body, he likely has a solution and a progression to help you move away from pain and restore function. I highly recommend this gym.

Best place ever. They go at your pace, emphasize correct form to avoid injury, and I have gotten 10x stronger as a result of these work outs.
CrossFit and Orange theory are great, but the risk of injury to potential muscle gain ratio is not as balanced as Cornerstone’s curriculum. I’m a former collegiate athlete, so I’ve tried every workout under the sun.

I was a little skeptical at first when I contacted Brett. The way he pitched his program and philosophy for physical change was unique compared to anything I had ever learned. I committed to a two workout plan and nutrition guidance. I hadn’t been very physical outside of work in a long time by that point. That didn’t matter though. Through his coaching we started easy and made simple changes. Before long I felt better than ever and started pushing hard enough he actually had to get me to slow down. Seeing and feeling the changes in my body just excited me.

We started with learning the movements in the exercises and small changes in behavior like tracking my steps and water intake. Before long I was using tools to fine tune my weight loss and see with data my gradual changes. Brett is an amazing coach. He knows his craft and really cares about his clients.

Through Brett’s coaching and with his support I went from 337lbs to 250lbs, I started doing working on more and difficult versions of movements. He gave me the tools I needed to change my body. In the process he changed my life.

I cannot guarantee the same drastic changes in you, but I can guarantee if you put in the work with Brett he will support you the whole way and even after. I highly recommend if you want to see real changes in yourself or just learn to do cool stuff like handstand push-ups, spend time with Brett’s guidance.

I've tried to exercise on my own multiple times. I did it alone for many years, then I tried several gyms and even personal trainers. I ended up over/under training and frustrating myself. I found Bret 10-15 years ago. He found exercises that met my current health status and goals.Over the years I've been in good health, poor health, major surgery and CoVid. He has always managed to adjust my workouts to meet my current health. This is not a gym full of over muscular patrons, vast array of treadmills and stair steppers. The gym is a friendly, supportive atmosphere with individual work stations. There are options to exercise via Zoom if you are traveling or ill (Flu, Covid). I can't recommend Cornerstone Gym highly enough.

I started working with Bret at CCG in May of 2023. I had hit a point of frustration with my diet and exercise and wanted a change. Over the past few months, Bret has worked with me to rebuild my metabolism, track my macros, and heal my mental health surrounding my attitude towards fitness and my body. I’ve been able to increase my calories from 1200-1600 a day while not gaining weight. I’ve learned to not be scared of the scale or freak out whenever the number is higher than I want. He has taught me so much about nutrition, exercise, and stretching. Bret and Megan are some of the most approachable people (let alone personal trainers) you’ll ever meet. Their training program is adaptable to pretty much any body type or condition. Before going to Corner Calisthenics Gym, my husband and I couldn’t stick to a regular workout routine and had multiple previous injuries. After meeting with Bret and Megan I knew this was the place I needed to be.

I've been working out with Bret and Megan Hamilton as my trainers since 2020. In-person training was shutting down because of the pandemic. I had been working out for a few years at a local gym in Medford, Oregon, but that closed. Cornerstone Calisthenics Gym was beginning on-line, Zoom training at the perfect time. Bret created a personal program that included a warm up, strength & mobility training, cardio and a cool down. In 2020, I also had spine surgery and have continued to workout with them. I now come in person to Cornerstone and am impressed with their knowledge, expertise and personal attention they pay to each person in the gym as well as those on-line working out at the same time.
I can honestly say I'm much stronger and have better mobility now more than ever before. Bret and Megan build more than strength. I have been coming to Cornerstone Calisthenics since prior to the Covid breakout a couple years ago . I needed to find a place that felt good attending a
Ibeing in my 60’s , without the stress of embarrassment of age, shape and performance.
During Covid, I stayed on Zoom with the gym and then is when I knew it was right for me. The classes were great on line and Brett and Mehgan made sure we were staying on track working on strength, ability and guiding us to a healthy place with effective workouts tailored to our needs.

I started with Cornerstone Calisthenics during the pandemic when my gym had to shut down. The zoom workouts were a great way to keep in shape during the lockdown and are useful on days when the weather is too bad to drive. I know there are many clients who still workout from home because it's convenient or they're not in the Wilsonville area. During the months of workouts at home, I found that my strength and endurance were better than before I had started with Cornerstone. The exercise program Bret had designed for me was superior to what I had been doing, so when things opened back up, I transitioned to in-gym workouts instead of returning to my previous gym. Each client has a workout designed specifically for them. The workouts are challenging, yet doable, and formatted so that, over time, you can see your growth. Attention is paid not only to what exercise is right for you but is closely monitored to make sure you're doing each exercise correctly. Bret and Megan have created a friendly atmosphere where everyone, regardless of age or physical condition can acquire and maintain strength, greater range of motion, agility, and endurance. I never thought I would say this about exercising, but since I switched to Cornerstone Calisthenics, I actually look forward to my workouts.

I have been a member of Cornerstone Calisthenics Gym since 2015. I was recovering from shoulder surgery from a bike crash and doing PT twice a week. Both the trainer I was working with, and my wife suggested that I join CCG in order to continue my rehab after my PT ended. Once I joined and experienced working with Bret and Megan, seeing the improvements to my shoulder as well as the rest of my body, I decided to make this a lifelong habit. As a result, my body developed into what I would classify as "the best shape of my life". Now, years later, I continue to attend in order to maintain my strength and fitness. As I get older, I want to prevent the onset of decline in my aging body so I will continue with this program as long as I am able.
Their approach is unique to any other program I've seen. They are very welcoming and encouraging, this is an all inclusive gym. The program can be adjusted to adapt to whatever I have going on in my life: time off, new injuries from sports, fitness goal changes, or anything else that's going on in my life. They make it easy and fun because it's obviously fun for the coaches, they really seem to enjoy what they do for their clientele. It's not just about running a business to them, from the very beginning, they made it very obvious that they care about me and my success!

I've been working with Bret & Megan for 9 months now after I was diagnosed with scoliosis. My initial goal was to alleviate some of the chronic back pain, if only that. Bret & Megan developed a fitness plan that met me where I was at and was very mindful of my physical limitations. They start off by correcting any everyday moving routine developed to avoid pain and create a strong and proper movement foundation.
During these 9 months, I have felt myself getting stronger in subtle ways. I've noticed that my chronic back pain greatly reduce and everyday activities have gotten easier such as picking things up from the ground, carrying groceries, and walking up the stairs. Additionally, due to unrelated events, I have been very sick for most of the 9 months that have left me bedridden too many times to count. Bret & Megan have been so supportive during my time of sickness. They encouraged me to rest when needed and to visit the gym when I was better. They altered my fitness plan to accommodate my reduced energy level. And although there have been times where I made little progress, I've been able to maintain my overall progress. While there were many times I felt like my body was failing me, it has actually been getting much stronger with Bret & Megan's help. They have truly helped me through those difficult times, both mentally and physically. This gym is more than a place to workout, it's a place of community and support, not only with the trainers but with the peers as well. I look forward to continue working with Bret & Megan.

I joined Cornerstone Calisthenics Gym because my mom has been working with Bret for something like 8 years or so and she wanted me to check it out. I was a little skeptical because I have been working out and playing sports for more than 30 years at this point, so I thought it wouldn't be too challenging. Well, I was wrong about that - it's challenging for all levels because it is progressive. Everyone works out at their personal level, although we all do the essentially the same workout (I workout in the small group).
The reason I'm writing this review is because the other day I was playing indoor soccer and I had the most fantastical experience! I have always been slower than I wanted to be (running), although I've prided myself on my endurance capabilities (I've run a few 1/2 marathons and one full marathon). Anyway, at soccer the other night, someone said "dang, you're fast!" after the game and for the first time in my life I could agree with her. I could FEEL myself being able to accelerate past other players in a way I had only dreamt about in the past!! I attribute this ability to improvements in my body's proper alignment and movements that I have been working on at Cornerstone Calisthenics under Bret and Meghan's guidance. I've always been a hard worker in the gym - I can get myself pretty strong on my own with decent stamina and some increased speed - but I'd always hit a ceiling and plateau there, not being able to improve further. Well, I think Bret and Meghan are helping me to fix my body so that it functions more efficiently and effectively, thus, allowing me to improve beyond that ceiling/plateau. I am incredibly grateful for their hard work and guidance!

Anyway, you can go to other big corporate gyms that have a ton of equipment and locations - I've done that and I still see the value in that, especially when you travel - but if you really want to improve your body's functional movements so you can workout more smoothly, avoid injury, and break any ceilings or bust past any plateaus you have hit, well then I highly recommend Cornerstone Calisthenics Gym. Plus, we're a family, a community. We like each other. We'd probably like you if you joined the gym. ;)
