I love playing soccer, but some of the referees there make the experience terrible. Some referees let players get away with fowl play, like pushing and elbowing players. Then other referees call fowls every 30 seconds and call overplay way too often, seemingly more so towards people of color. The referee, Ben, felt the need to βmansplanβ a rule to me in front of everyone for several minutes, causing time to be lost and players from both teams to yell at him to stop so we could keep playing. In several cases, he told me that I caused fowls (for example, a player passed the ball and we both moved to run and he plowed through my knee, causing him to fall over) and that I βneed to be able to predict the other players movements.β So I guess if youβre a woman, youβre expected to predict the future and get out of the way so the men can play, according to referee Ben. If a referee is getting yelled at by both teams, that referee sucks at their job. Iβve been playing for over a year now, and itβs always a problem especially with this one referee. Apparently you can file a complaint, but other players that have filed complaints said that nothing ends up happening because they are too desperate for referees. Guess desperate doesnβt equal good quality so that makes senseβ¦

Referees donβt follow the rules/guidelines given at the start of the season and even tell you that whatever they say goes. Was told by different refs that advantage doesnβt exist as players can get injured from it, then while playing and getting fouled I was expecting a foul to be called by one of the refs just to be told, that I was good enough to play through the foul. Consistency is nonexistent between all the refs at this establishment.

If you can make friends with the owners or have social connections to them, you will be treated well. Otherwise, people are leaving in droves due to discrimination and bias leading to an unsafe environment. This is why the prices keep rising despite no improvements. Great places to play in Albany, Salem and Eugene (other than kick city) but unfortunately this place currently enjoys, brags about, and abuses a monopoly over indoor soccer in Corvallis.

The burgers and wings are by far the best in town. If you are new and you like wings, I would try that first. There are also big screen TVs and indoor soccer games. I believe every Wednesday and Friday there is Trivia night.

The facilities themselves lend towards fun indoor soccer but the management is some of the worst of any business I've ever given my money to.
They play by their own rules and when you call them out on it they disregard and belittle you.
An example of this is them posting rules/guidelines for play, but officiating with an alternative set of rules which are only available if a hard copy is requested, claiming that they are not obligated to honor the rules that are posted online.
I might also be bitter from when the management threatened to ban myself and my entire team from the sports park for life when I was 16 years old, years ago. The only way they know to handle disagreement is by escalating conflicts and ruling with an iron fist.

We love this place! Our whole family has played soccer here and my youngest son has been attending Little Kickers and other youth soccer programs since he was 18 months old! Blake Leamy is a great coach and an asset to our community. Plus they have beer and broadcast live international soccer games...what's not to like? Support the Corvallis Sports Park.

I originally submitted a 5 star review several years ago, but wanted to update it to reflect my current opinion of the business.
They've made some nice improvements to the pub. They've expanded their food menu, and they easily have one of the best tap lists in Corvallis.
There has been a serious change in quality since the departure of some specific employees. They used to have tasting nights with breweries all over Oregon, and I can't remember the last time that happened.
The womens competitive and co-ed competitive leagues have been a staple in the past, and if there was a possibility either of those leagues didn't have enough teams to run, an employee would personally find people to make a new team to ensure the league ran. That is no longer the case. The simply don't run the leagues if not enough teams signup.
I enjoyed playing co-ed competitive, but watching my wife play womens competitive every Tuesday was the highlight of my week. I worry that those leagues might never run again. With such a large university in town, it seems like finding students to play wouldn't be hard. I've never seen any kind of promotions to bring students in. Seems like the management is content with what they have because they don't have any immediate competition.
Most recently, when my wife signed her team up for a league that didn't end up running, CSP didn't contact her to refund the $150 deposit she put down. It wasn't until she approached them 4 weeks into the new season (that they weren't participating in), that she was refunded. Had she never done that, they would have simply pocketed the money (whether it was intentional or not).

I used to love playing at the Corvallis Sports Park. I have experience on all levels of teams and leagues. However, it has gone down hill particularly in their intermediate and rec leagues. I would have given a 2 but because they have done better to offer more at the facility (sports pub) I give them a three. It seems they have put more time and money into the pub rather than the actual indoor field and all that goes with it. You can visually see that the turf needs updating and maintenance. I have seen many injuries on this field and I think it is due to poor refereeing, and the lack of maintenance on their turf. Also, with young and inexperienced referees, their games tend to be more aggressive, with high volume of injuries and altercations...not including poor calls and lack of judgement on the young and inexperienced referees. Overall as a local kid to this area, I would love to see changes before I rate it higher.

This is a great indoor soccer arena. I played here for years. Most of the referees are good and fair, I recommend giving feedback on those that aren't. There is a good amount of seating in the ground floor, the balcony gets full ot later games and the weekends. There is a small selection of food. The tater tots are always a hit. Bathrooms with showers make changing at the park easy. Game start time has typically gotten later as the evening or day drags on. Overall a great place to play.

Refereeing is the worst I've seen in 6 different states. They play favorites and even admit they call it biased based on who they like. They don't keep it safe and games get out of hand. A local orthopedic surgeon told me the sports park keeps them in business.

This place is fun for those who like to watch and play soccer. They have a great selection of beer in their pub but their food is mostly all fried. They are current remodelling the bar area and have added an outside patio. There are all sorts of people that play here families and college kids. They hold beer tasting events and screen timbers games. Playing soccer here can provide a wide range of experiences, some good, some not so good...

I played on a rec women's team for a couple of years. There are teams for all skill levels and you can join house teams if you don't have enough people to start a team. It's also really fun to get beer and watch other teams play and maybe get a cheap bite to eat. Standard bar food only, though.
