This location has the 2nd best hot tub... for now. I wish they had the day use lockers. You need to bring a lock which sucks. The showers ok pressure but the stalls are small.

Keizer Courthouse member for nearly 30 years. Club Dance is fantastic - energetic, skilled instructors who create a workout that incorporates cardio, balance, coordination and more. Friendly social interactions that encourage participation.
VERY disappointed that the weekly yoga class was discontinued, but remain hopeful that it will be revived. Maintaining flexibility and strength are key components to overall fitness and health.

It's costly but worth it to me. I'm a senior and I'm trying to strengthen my body after being sedentary for awhile. The classes and instructors are great. Willing, knowledgeable, and encouraging to show you how to use the machines and provide alternate exercises if needed. I don't like the chlorine but I take a thorough shower after swimming. The staff is great. Makes for a nice atmosphere.

After reading all the other reviews about use of the lap pool at the Keiser Courthouse club gym, I am absolutely in agreement with the lack of professionalism by staff. I joined Courthouse club for use of lap pools for Exercise and I take this extremely seriously.
However, twice now I have gone to this Keiser gym, and itβs been absolutely unacceptable due to the lack of supervision of children in the lab pools. I went a month ago during lap swim, and there were children playing in two of the lanes with balls and jumping around. Another lane had a dad and his children playing with kids. This is happened now three or four different times that Iβve gone to this pool. I will never return!
Awful! That pools are there for Exercise, and not for playing games. Unfortunately, I thought I would try one more time. A big, white woman came walking over to me and asked me how long I wanted to swim in the lap pool. Really? It was 4:30 PM. She said there was childrenβs practice at 5 oβclock. She was really rude about it! Then, about 4:50 PM, she started walking along the lane. She was in yelling at me to get my attention. I had earplugs in! She told me that they were already children in the pool and I had to get out. What the hell!
I will never go back to this gym!

2025 Update: I've been a courthouse member for over a decade now, and current management seems to not care at all about what their customers want. They have now removed the sweat/cleaning towels. All the perks of paying the higher price for membership here compared to other gyms are being systematically removed over time. First the high quality weigh scales get removed from the locker room, and now this. I will likely be taking my business elsewhere in the near future. Cutting corners seems to be the trend here, and it's going to start costing them more and more business, as it should.

I am a new member. I swim laps. I noticed the water clarity was bad and I brought it to the attention of staff. Now it seems to have been fixed. Cloudy water is not good. I thought I would do strength training on the machines, but I have a painful knee and those stairs look daunting! So I just swim.

The most expensive gym in town and the WORST courthouse location. I've been a courthouse member for 3+ years., and this location made me cancel my membership. Outdated equipment (cardio and weight room). Even most drinking fountains aren't equipped to refill your water bottle. You would think they would have newer equipment, but nope. Lancaster and West Salem locations put this place to shame. This place only makes sense if you use every single service offered, because you're going to be paying $70++ plus fees everytime you use it. Want to bring a guest? $10. I already put in my membership cancelation, that won't take affect for 58 days. They require a whole calendar month notice. Unless you need to use the pool, look elsewhere. You'll find better equipment at a cheaper price. A lot of folks come in here and just walk on the treadmill, they don't realize they're being robbed blind. This location was a HUGE letdown. It's the worst courthouse, even according to the reviews. Waiting my 58 days....

Gym is ok. Been going for over a year, price has increased twice since. Nice basketball court which hardly seems accessible because thereβs always some volleyball game or pickleball or something going on besides basketball which is super annoying. Have a separate room for that at least. Gym set up was good and then they rearranged it horribly. Overall itβs meh, nothing special.

I paid $85 a month for a membership. And twice now, at this location, people who look like they are there for the swimming lessons for their children are coming through the pool area into the locker room with about five more children who are running all over the adult locker room and they are bathing the children and washing their street clothes in the sinks where you wash your hands!!! I had to wait to get into the shower and I don't think all of the people were even members. I've never seen anything like this before inside of a gym it was like a third world country.

Iβm never one to complain but my experience here was not good. I attempted 2 times in person at the front desk with staff to cancel my membership because the gym was not a good fit for me. Both times my membership didnβt get cancelled without my knowledge and I was charged an additional month twice($180). They finally cancelled my membership after charging me an additional $75 cancellation fee and then would not refund me for the other 2 months of membership as there was βno proof that I attempted to cancel my accountβ.

Company is super money hungry gym is not even good itβs average and when trying to cancel they charge for leaving and if you donβt do it before the first they charge you the whole month even tho bill doesnβt come out until the 15th!
Bad service overall for the price

Iβve been coming here to this location off and on since October 2022 and the only reason Iβm sad to say this past year has just been disappointing is that the steam room doesnβt let out steam as often and as strong anymore and sometimes sauna heats up enough to work out most of the time. ( these facilities are what makes courthouse fitness my fav and worth it but when itβs hardly working I am sad because it would make a better place for me to keep coming to this location )
Also Iβve noticed the basketballs available arenβt as bouncy..
I think thereβs been a management change because a few months ago I was able to walk out of the gym 5-10 min out til 11 without an employee telling me the locker room is closed ( not that I made it a habit- it only happened once but maybe it because I was showering so they didnβt want to bother me )
Itβs good to know now rather than later that I canβt use the facilities in the locker room past 10:45pm in the case I wanted to come in for at least 30min before 11pm.
The hot tub is longer than the other gyms and heavily chlorinated than the Lancaster one but those power jets def work great!
The outdoor pool is really nice- it was my first time actually swimming out there tonight.
What motivates me to come here is if I want to work out privately in the separate rooms and like how peaceful it is to workout upstairs as well.
Overall itβs a good time to relax alone- I was just a little disturbed when I was notified that there is a new locker room curfew.

These folks have an awesome facility and a great team supporting their many clients. I'm retired and over 65, and Courthouse provides numerous fitness and training options. (Try the Gravity Recovery chair.)
I'm a big fan of Age2OH water aerobics. Mo taught us this morning, and her upbeat attitude and strong fitness background means I can get in a workout that feels great and helps me to maintain strength and flexibility.
Also, it's wonderful to see all the families here playing together. I wish I had Courthouse Athletic when my kids were little.

We love this gym. I take the kids here very often to do my physical therapy while they swim. The only thing that I wish they would invest in is a REAL family locker room or dressing room. It's just a bathroom. You cannot call it a family room. It's false advertising. There's no way to shower with your kids, there is no changing table. Especially with all the swim lessons. It's a bench with some hooks to hang your stuff and a toilet. There is plenty of opportunity to create one and it would minimize a lot of traffic. It was great when my kids were young enough to go in the locker room with me, but now it's really inconvenient and we bring extra towels to lay on the floor and bench when we all get dressed. Shouldn't be that way (:

This place is nice and all but the fees and prices are ridiculous. $65 +$5 processing fee every month. $70 dollars in total every month which is a very premium price to pay for a gym membership. The fees are what got me most angry, there was a sign up fee of $75 on top of the standard membership price so just getting a membership was about $145. Just recently I decided to cancel my membership because I had my schooling startup again and couldn't make it anymore but I was planning to go back after my school year was complete but never again. Their so called "No Commitment" also comes with a $75 cancelation fee. They said you can waive the fee if you take some of their lifestyle training classes. Sorry not everyone has time to enroll in such courses, some of us just want to head to the gym and do a workout and not be forced to take a course to waive a fee and at $70 a month you should have the option to do so and not worry about fees. Why don't yall offer a plan where you pay a steady subscription and don't have to worry about signing up for some unnecessary courses?

Looks very fancy when you walk in. It looks like they take care of it very well. Yeah they donβt. Iβm not gonna lie their massage chairs and massage room is nice and all. And their massage chairs are high quality. But If you want to go swimming. Donβt just donβt. The hot tub water almost looks brown. The pool is filled with dirt and grime they pay 0 attention to pool cleaning. The dividers for the section of the pool are dirty. Like so dirty you can visibly see the grossness.

I am a 70 year old woman who joined the Keizer Courthouse last fall. I first started to attended the water exercise classes and use the circuit machines, then in November I decided to challenge myself and started taking the Performance Training classes twice a week. I have never done anything like this before, and am quite proud of myself for the progress I have made. The trainers have really encouraged me and made adjustments for things that my old knees just couldn't do! Everyone there is always very friendly and helpful. I love it!

Nice Facility,
So-So experience with staff...
The one star review is for the refusal to reimburse me for the membership fee I was charged after the contract ended with the local client who offered us the discount rate to attend the gym initially...
Upon reaching out for support, I explained my attempt to cancel the membership, via the app, prior to the charge, but obviously failed to do so, due to the technical difficulties I was having within the app, which is the truth.
I do a lot of traveling as a contractor and in the rare instances something like this happens, I receive the courtesy and the benefit of the doubt, because I'm not out here trying to rip anybody off...
I understand that they don't owe me the same courtesy, but if the money grab means that much to em, it's coming with a price, so is it worth it?
Running a successful business includes leaving customers and visitors with a pleasant experience as much as it is in our power to do so...
Again, the month that I was charged, I was no longer in the area and didn't use the facility at all so I don't think I'm asking for too much...
Moving forward, I will be more than glad to change this review based upon gym's response.
Shalom

I came here for a birthday party with the staff was super friendly and it was very, very clean. The only negative thing I would have is that the lifeguards were not attentive at all and it was a young kid's birthday party, and they weren't even near the pool, they stayed back and we're just chatting amongst each other at a table. Two times in a row Yoga was canceled via a sign at the desk. No prior notification, so that people could plan not to rush and be at the courthouse for Yoga on time. One feels like a fool going there and then finding out that there is no insturctor, twice in a row!
Service has gone down compared to what it had been before Covid. I am thinking of leaving the Courthouse after having been a member for 15 years. Too many of you good instructors have left and desk service is constantly changing.

My kids, who are PAYING gym members, were DENIED entrance to the gym today. We started going a few months ago and as a responsible adult, I or my spouse were supervising the kids during water activities ( sitting in the chair and watching them). Well, today, on possibly hottest day in Oregon when kids really wanted to cool down in the pool, all of a sudden, we were told we cannot supervise our kids because we (the adults) are not members. Since when it's a rule? First time I hear about it. If it's a thing, why does the club then sell memberships to kids without mentioning anything about parents being mandatory members and allow us to go since new year till today. What changed today????? We are cancelling membership and will be sure to tell everyone we know in Keizer and Salem that your club and business model is discriminatory to families and is promoting unsafe environment for minors!

Recently refurbished locker rooms, with good amenities (sauna, steam room, hot pool, showers, lockers, towel service). Machines in good repair & operation, though there a couple of machines I'd like that they don't have. Good free weight selection & auxiliary items (balls, bags, bungees, sleds, etc.). Indoor & seasonal outdoor pools. Helpful staff, though can be inexperienced. Nice group activity & basketball courts. Staff trainers are good, but can be expensive. Independent masseuse available on-site (appt. needed).
Members can visit any of several CourtHouse Fitness location in Salem metro area. (This one, Keizer, is my "home" location.) Rotating renovations in progress at various sites. Check location for features available; example: some locations have handball courts, some don't.

Update: I received a call from the director this afternoon after I wrote my experience and review here. She solved my issue quickly and my daughter can start the lessons tomorrow. Very poor communication! Especially between corporate and customers. I called in to ask how much a membership would cost, etc. They said to go to the website and find out. All I wanted was to sign my kiddos up so they could use the pool. I called again and asked flat out if I could be there right next to my kids to ensure no splashing/running/drowning... you know, the usual. They said yes it was fine. So I signed them up for 25 a month EACH for 6 months. Went twice without an issue. However, the 3rd time, they said I needed an adult membership or pay 10 dollars EACH TIME MY KIDS want to use the pool!!! I have chronic health problems, so all I would be able to use that membership for is to supervise my kids in the pool. 100 dollars every month just for my 2 kids to use the pool (and even more if I decided to forgo the membership and just spend the 10 dollars each time).
My daughter was crushed and cried all of the way home. I will be telling both of my friends that thought about joining for their kids not to bother with this place.
And just to add: "AGE POLICIES
While in the club, children under the age of 14 must be involved in a structured club activity, or directly supervised by their parent or staff member.
Ages 8 and under:
β’ Club use is limited to a maximum of two hours per day.
β’ May use basketball courts, racquetball courts, and the pools with direct adult supervision.
β’ May participate in Kid60 sessions (ages 6-10).
β’ May participate in Kidβs Court (ages 2 months through 10 years).
β’ Are not allowed to use the cardio or weight equipment.
β’ Are not allowed to attend Group Training classes.
Subject to all indoor/outdoor pool policies."
Even in the waiver, I found nothing about having to buy a membership just to supervise your children.

I worked out here for the week while visiting friends. Nice small gym with plenty of equipment. Not too crowded and they offer classes like every other gym. They have in inside pool mainly for exercising and pool classes and an outside pool for families and people wanting to escape the heat. $25 weekly pass and $10 daily pass. Pretty expensive considering the monthly pass is over $40. Womens restroom by the pool needs a remodel.

Love the facility and staff but it's pricey compared to other local gyms.
My husband uses the membership where his time of day usage is restricted so his monthly cost is less and that works well for him being retired. If you are wanting to check in at 5pm for an after work workout that won't be an option for you, but you could always go early before work. That's what I used to do before becoming an at home nana raising small people. I'm considering rejoining this summer just to get the kids into their swim program. (Okay, I'd love to swim too!). Amazing gym! We joined from our shut down gym in Silverton and love it so far. We appreciate the fact that they have stayed open and allow a clean and sanitary option for those of us that actually need a mental health release that a gym provides. This gym is one of the most cleanliest that I've been to. And they actually leave an appropriate amount of sanitary solution and towels out! Unfortunately some of us can't afford a new $8,000 in home gym. And we don't live in California so exercising outside every day isn't always feasible. Every patron I've seen, is very diligent about wearing a mask & cleaning all equipment, along with the staff themselves. For those who say "mental health matters" and then slam gyms for opening/staying open, you are nothing but hypocrites. Until I see ACTUAL DATA (which Kate Brown has none of) that can prove gyms and restaurants tribute to the spread of COVID I will attend and continue to put my health first, since I've had to apparently put everyone else's first for a majority of 2020. Keep up the good fight Courthouse! Some of us appreciate you for standing up to Dictator Brown.

My family has been long time courthouse membership holders. We are pleased that the courthouse has decided to stay open through current events. The courthouse has remained a cornerstone to the health and happiness of the Keizer community during the corona pandemic. Thank you Courthouse and staff.

I would disagree with courthouse members not following mask mandates. I think keizer courthouse and it's members are doing a fantastic job of keeping the club clean and sanitized! We love this gym and are very happy with our membership.

Wanted to cancel my membership and they require a 30 day notice, which you can find no mention of on their website. I donβt even live in Salem any longer. And unreal they are still charging people when they are shut down during their mandatory shutdown period. Props to you, Courthouse!

Careful of the contracts, seems to me they only care about money since they wonβt work with you when there are extenuating circumstances. They are not upfront about fees or policies even when asked specifically. Also, there is almost never any parking available at peak times.

I've been a member a few times. I always think, "wow I should go to a place that costs less". And every time I do I am so disappointed. I love the Courthouse! All the staff go out of their way to make me feel welcome. (I am an obese woman with anxiety in her 40's) I love the variety of classes they offer. The facility is always nice and clean and the people that go there are friendly. I guess what I'm saying is that yes, you can get a membership somewhere else for $30 a month and when you get tired of the same boring workout routine in a less than clean facility, we will all be waiting to welcome you to Courthouse.

Review update (6/20/2018). I decided to get my workout at courthouse Keizer last Friday as it was not affected by the water restriction and I also heard that they did some renovations and updated the equipments. I must say I like the layout upstairs and the new equipments. More racks and barbel weights, pulleys, a good circuit training section like they have in the South River Rd. Only thing missing now is bathroom upstairs. This is a better choice for me at night now as it's not as crowded as the West. Changing to 4 star.
Initial review: This place is so so for me. I get my workout done but their weight equipments are old and really lack the safety features that most of the machines in West, Battle Creek and even Lancaster have. Their smith machine doesn't have the safety stop so if you squat and your knees buckled, you have to turn the bar to get the hook engaged. Their leg press machine makes you susceptible to ACL injury because of the way it puts the stress on the knees. The leg extension machine lacks knee angle adjustability. The decline bench makes you susceptible to lumbar injury. Their cardio equipments are okay... same as with the other courthouse gyms. I usually go to the west gym if I have the time. Keizer gym is more of last resort. I don't know if the owner don't want to update the equipments because they don't have much people coming or maybe it's because their equipments are old that's why not a lot of people are coming, specially now that there is B-fit nearby.

Clean, friendly, so far, plenty of space during my workout.
After a conversation with hubby, he said that the shower area in the Men's area, is just an open, free for all, whereas the women's have individual stalls with curtain. Why don't the men have this? Seems creepy to openly, shower naked next to strangers.

I called this morning in to get a price for a day pass , they gave me a price of $10 for a day pass and for a week $30, when I arrived suddenly, Hannah tried to charge me the double price $ 20 for a 1 day pass and still for a week $30. I walked out , went to snap fitness where I had a very great workout and payed only 5 dollars.

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY! I am so glad to finally be out of my year contract with Courthouse!! When my husband and I first joined, we wanted some guidance on what a good workout routine would be, so we got signed up for the ($120/person) kickstarter program, which is really geared towards people wanting to lose weight. The nutritional part was worthless to us, as we had been on a whole foods diet for years. The fitness part essentially was signing us up for classes (which I feel confident that we could have read class descriptions and selected the few classes that worked with our schedule). We also tried the Spartan workout ($120/person/month), but at just 2 classes per week, $15 per class seemed a bit steep! We then dropped down to the $59/person/month which was good for a while. Once I found out that I was pregnant, the classes available to me were limited. I switched exclusively to lap swimming. I wish there was a single gym, no class option, but there's not. It wouldn't have helped anyways, because the pool at the gym close to my house was available to me on Mondays. So I kept the multi-gym, class membership so I could run around town after work to use an available pool (Mondays I'm Keizer, Tuesdays and Thursdays after 6 On Lancaster - which I would adjust my work schedule for, and Wednesday in West Salem - 25 minutes from home). It was like I was paying a premium for being inconvenienced. Membership prices went up around the first of the year. After baby was born, I called to drop to the single gym membership option, only to find out that it was no longer an option. So then I was paying for a gym membership that I physically couldn't use. Once I finally got to my last month of membership, I cancelled 4 days late, and got charged with a whole month (not prorated) and also an additional gym enhancement charge of $36 per person. You would think that with the cost of membership, the increase in pricing, and the loss of a lower cost membership that they would be making enough revenue to not have to have an additional gym enhancement fee. Also during my membership, I was denied access to the gym, where I learned that there was a glitch in there payments system (I was set up on autopay) and that I owed close to $1000 and had been sent to collections. There is a surcharge for using a credit card. And I tried calling the manager to try and get the gym enhancement charge reimbursed since I was no longer a member, and to no surprise, he said there was nothing he could do. Try your luck, but I wouldn't recommend this gym to anyone!!

Never will recommend the Keizer courthouse to anyone. I called way back in January for info about my account and was told when my contract was over in August it will be terminated and I wouldn't have to do anything and while dealing with a newborn I haven't noticed till 3 weeks ago they've been charging me in full each month after my contract was "terminated" and when I call to get this corrected I was told that everything was going to be cleaned up and would here back in 2-3 days. Being generous I waited 2 weeks no call no email or anything from them. So I called back today to finish it and they told me there's nothing they could do cause that's always been there "policy" to charge after your contracts over. Seriously?!? Worst customer service experience I've ever had at any type of business. Just absolutely terrible didn't even offer anything just kept saying there's nothing they could do because there employee gave me false information so I'm out of pocket now because you don't know how to train your employees? After being a member there (off and on) the last 6 years never again will I support the courthouse gym in Keizer feel so disrespectful!
