I just completed my third month at CrossFit Tigard, and I absolutely love this place. PJ and the crew of coaches are incredibly well-versed in body mechanics and movement, ensuring we get the right stimulus to increase strength and longevity for CrossFit movements but also our other physical pursuits.
I love feeling challenged each class, and building friendships with the amazing people that work out here. We have a lot of fun while being in the pain-cave togetherβ¦thatβs how you know ;)

I joined CrossFit Tigard last month and I am so happy I took the leap! I'm older and not as fit as I used to be so I was a bit apprehensive. This place has a place for everyone. There are plenty of members who do the most amazing level of fitness I've seen, members like me that modify with the help of great coaching and newbies who have never exercised. Since graduating college, it's been difficult to find motivation, routine, a good atmosphere, and group of people to help me stay in shape. I've tried all sorts of group fitness classes, individual workout plans, etc. and, while fun, I struggled to be consistent and didn't feel like I was improving.
Getting the courage to try out Tigard CrossFit was one of my best decisions. I was hesitant, as I have never tried CrossFit, but I quickly realized that the gym was welcoming to people of all abilities. The coaching staff is extremely knowledgeable and have a tremendous amount of options for those of us who need to scale, as we learn and ramp up. Most of all, I've noticed the coaching staff care deeply about the progression of each athlete. They spend time drilling movements and observe every class member to ensure they are lifting with proper technique. They walk around the class during the WOD - providing feedback at all times on technique, and to provide motivation when we need it. They will push you, but they will also encourage listening to your body and scale if needed.
The gym, coaching staff, and fellow athletes are incredible, and have given me the motivation to get into the best shape of my life. I highly recommend CrossFit Tigard!

They're very friendly and adamant when it came to signing me up. I paid the $100 for the intro class and unfortunately I got into a car accident. I called and notified them about this and tried to work out a deal of some kind to get a refund. Maybe even just a gift card or some shirts than boom all the calls and text stop they just ghosted me. Not asking for much but professional courtesy would be nice. Even just a call or text to inform me that I'm not getting a refund. $100 is not a whole lot of money but it's more about the principle. If you have time to text me and call me 20 times a day to get me to sign up surly you have 5 minutes to return a call about my account.

Only place that I would wake up to attend a 5am class. I love the community here everyone is very friendly supportive and helpful. I had never done CrossFit before and just had a baby 3months prior to joining so of course I was nervous but the coaches walk you through each movement to ensure your set up for success. I used to be in great shape, then I got a high stress job where I sat all day at my desk. So I really needed something to get myself in shape again. I started coming to Tigard cross fit about 4 weeks ago, and I love it! I have seen such a difference in not only my body but in my mood. The trainers are amazing the owner is amazing, and all the members make every work out enjoyable. The workouts are different every day and I'm learn things I never knew I could do. The best part is you always have the coach there to make sure you are doing it right and he is always encouraging me to do better or more. I love it!!! I have been attending P.A.W regularly now for 16 months, 3-4 times a week.
I chose to incorporate this activity into my schedule after attending an βOn-Rampβ program they call the β6-week challengeβ which enabled me to get to know the staff, the establishment, and other attendees. I didnβt find anything wrong with any of it, so I stuck around.
I find the programming diverse but not confusing, the instructions thorough but not boring. I attended other gyms that assume everyone knows what to do, and the beginner reverts to learning by looking around and imitating mistakes made by others. Not here!
People talk about the special βCommunityβ, and I guess they are right. A person might find a great, diverse group of like-minded professional adults who decided to make their physical and mental health a priority in their lives. If you choose to stay in your own lane, thatβs OK too.

It's a great gym for CrossFit, the coaches are attentive and knowledgeable. They are great about emphasizing form over weight as well as longevity both in and out of the sport. If you have an injury that prevents you from doing a movement and are still trying to get a sweat in the coaches are great about suggesting alternative movements. They also provide scaled options for each workout in case you don't quite have the movement down. They offer different classes for certain techniques (Olympic lifting, Gymnastic movements). They also have Fit Fundies classes that are great for anyone. The events that they host always have good vendors. Everyone at the gym has great energy and works hard to make it very welcoming. Overall CrossFit Tigard Paw is just a fun community to be a part of.

I joined a "6-Week Challenge" in April 2018 to see if I could improve my strength routine and nutrition which had languished while being a Ironman athlete (can eat anything, sport-specific strength training). I was amazed at the challenge, impressed by my 6-week progress, and loved the positive energy of the people. Joined CrossFit classes after that intro and have been happy and impressed with the support from each coach I have met. The members are super supportive and inclusive, as well and encourage me every workout. I have only been to two other CF gyms, but I feel this is a welcoming CrossFit community with quality programming and caring approach.

I love going to CrossFit Tigard! My husband and I workout together so we both find the exercise classes challenging and fun. The trainers push us to do better and try harder. When I can't get my body to do the exercise correctly the trainers are right there to help me with suggestions and modifications. The people who workout there are great, friendly, encouraging, and supportive. I can't say enough good things about the box, I really do feel very comfortable and safe here. No matter your fitness level this place will be supportive and help you on your journey. I only wish they had towels for workout sweat and a water bottle fill station available

By far THE best gym experience. I have been attending since Oct. 2017. I was not fit at all. Through my journey I have received so much support from PJ, the coaches, fellow "New You" members and the long term members as well.
I have lost a total of 21.5 lbs & gained self confidence and a great support group. I have shown the next generation that you are stronger then you think. My daughters know that mom is strong & so are they. My older daughter is my best work out partner.

After years at Bally's (LA Fitness) and Crunch, I was looking for more results from the 5-10 hours a week that I would spend in the gym. Over time I became convinced that CrossFit offered the challenge and the programming variety to not only achieve greater fitness but also develop new skills. I walked into PAW last August and never looked back. PJ and the other coaches know what they're doing. Great coaching, programming, very challenging but fun workouts every day, and a welcoming, diverse, community that inspires and encourages you to do your best, regardless of age, weight, current fitness level etc,. If you've been going to LA Fitness, Crunch or any of the other "globo gyms" in the area, but really want to get the highest possible return for your gym time investment, this is the place for you.

Okay, full disclosure, my last name is the same last name as the gym owner. That being said, I started here at age 61 and did not have the strength to put the clips on the bar bell by myself. It has been a wonderful work in progress for the last 6 years. I do the hybrid program that in addition to all the classes, includes a one on one training session each month and a one on one nutrition counseling /goal setting session each month. If you need that extra accountability this is the way to go!

I am not an athlete, and I have struggled with my relationship with health and exercise for years. It got worse, however, after I retired from the military and at age 46, didn't have incentive to at least stay in some kind of shape. I began receiving targeted Facebook ads for a 6 week challenge at Crossfit Tigard Paw which is located fairly close to my home in SW Portland. I decided to go check it out, but was slightly apprehensive based on how difficult I had heard Crossfit is.
It turned out to be one of my best decisions, ever! The staff and coaches at the gym are just outstanding, and everything is scaled to meet your individual needs and abilities. Rather than focus on one specific aspect of your being, the PAW (Person, Athlete, Warrior) concept takes a more holistic approach to your individual needs. Since October, I have noticed a huge difference in my strength and conditioning levels.
The gym offers two types of classes, "Crossfit" and "Fitness Fundamentals" and members can interchange between as needed. After the 6 week challenge was over, I started in Crossfit, but switched to the fundamentals, as I'm more interested in conditioning than strength. I feel comfortable, however, going back and forth.
Finally, I'd like to say that Phil (the owner) makes a real effort to connect with the gym members at a personal level. I am a total introvert who suffers from horrible shyness with new people, and Phil and his team have made me feel nothing but welcome, assisting me with my self-imposed obstacles of feeling comfortable in the group setting.
Oh yea...the gym is extremely clean, with great equipment (and lots of it!), pro shop, changing rooms, child play room, and a wide variety of class times. They also have a military discount, which I appreciate.
I can't recommend this place highly enough. It's changed my life.

I've been a member for 10 months now. I've always just gone to a normal gym such as 24 hour fitness. I had stopped going to the gym for a few years and decided to get back in shape. CrossFit seemed interesting and different so I decided to give Tigard Paw a try. I was really impressed with the gym, equipment, coach, and the workout my very first free hour class. I signed up for a year immediately, and am still extremely impressed. My body, mind, and spirit has changed all for the better, and continues to grow. I take extra classes dedicated to specific movements/lifts as often as I can. The other members, coaches, and atmosphere is so much better for me than a normal gym. I could go on and on about the place, but overall I don't have a single complaint. If you've thought about trying CrossFit or getting fit, you have to schedule a free class with Tigard Paw and see if it's right for you!

I'm only 28 years old. Have had two spine surgerys and multiple doctors tell me I could not do "crossfit" type workouts. My wife introduced me and pushed me to try PAW for over a year before I stepped foot in the door. I was pleasantly surprised by the warm welcomes and family type environment that PAW offers. The on-ramp program set me up for success and was the perfect amount of hard work along with making sure I was being introduced to these new movements safely. "Leave your ego at the door" My on-ramp coach (shout out to Mike) opened conversation with me by saying the above statement. So often you hear of people getting injured due to pushing themselfs to hard to fast or doing an exercise incorrectly because others "lift heavier" or "run faster" PAW is all about making sure you stay healthy and can continue to train consistently and safely because everyone that coachs and attends this gym truely cares for one another. I'm a member for life and I dont know where I would be today physically and mentally without Crossfit Tigard PAW.

This gym is everything I want out of my workout routine. The workouts are challenging but accessible and the coaches explain in detail how to scale movements to make them effective for ANY level. That said, if you are already really fit they encourage you to push yourself. They focus 100% on safety and form before bumping weight, so when you make gains they are HUGE at first. The coaches are all fabulous, not a single person I'm not happy to see teach my class. My schedule is a little wild, so I also love the range of classes time-wise. I don't consider myself a gym rat at all, but I look forward to coming every day and feel SO good about my body.

I had a hard time finding a new CF box when I moved to Portland. I joined one for an entire year that wasn't a good fit and started thinking that maybe CF wasn't for me anymore. Then, I visited CF Tigard PAW and it changed everything. This is an amazing facility with a variety of classes, great coaches, and accessories, proteins, etc. for purchase at a great price. The coaches here are amazing, they explain technique so well and really care about the safety of their members. I recently got a wrist injury and the coaches have been nothing but helpful with modifying basically every single workout for me, I am super grateful for them. I workout in the evenings so I mainly have Ben and PJ as coaches and I must say they are truly amazing. The energy and expertise they bring to every class is top notch. The community here is awesome - there's always some event happening and everyone is super supportive and welcoming. It's family friendly too with a space for kids to play while their parents workout.
Not only has this been a great place to continue my love of CF and achieve my fitness goals, but the owner PJ has also been amazing with my nutrition. I signed up for his 13 week nutrition program and was not disappointed. I thought I knew everything I needed about nutrition, but I was wrong. PJ is a true expert and helped me reach weight goals that I didn't even know were possible. I managed to shake off those last few pounds that never want to leave. It came with hard work, but was so much easier with PJs programming and support.
This is all around a fantastic and gym with so much to offer. I absolutely recommend it to anyone in their CF journey whether you're experienced or brand new to it.

I drop into Crossfit Tigard PAW regularly, including attending their special events. It's an awesome place to work out! The overall atmosphere is extremely positive and supportive. They welcome people of all levels of fitness. The coaches are friendly and attentive which is important since Crossfit involves some technical lifts. If you're new to Crossfit (or not) they will be there to help you perform the movements correctly to avoid injury.
Their website claims to be the best equipped Crossfit box in Portland and I believe it. The place is huge with two main workout rooms. There is tons of space to work out and plenty of equipment and different weights for everyone. There's also a play room so people can bring their kids which is great.
If I lived closer I would totally make Crossfit Tigard PAW my main box. However, I'll still be visiting whenever I can because I really enjoy spending time there!

I knew nothing about crossfit when I started three years ago. CrossFit Tigard PAW walked me through three, one hour sessions to orient me to the basics. Workouts are only sixty minutes. You work as hard as you want, lift only what you can and do more in that hour than most do all day. CrossFit Tigard PAW... Of curse it's hard... that's why it works!

I have been at P.A.W. for a few years now and there is no place I would rather work out. I truly appreciate each staff member and all that they offer to make my experience so great. It is very evident that every coach cares about my well-being and is invested in helping me reach my goals. I show up 4-6 days a week because I feel so supported. I feel motivated by the staff and fellow members to push through any obstacles that arise. I have not been to any other CrossFit gym, but I have heard from other members who have that our gym far surpasses anything that other gyms have to offer in the way of technical support, gym equipment, and professionalism. I highly recommend that any person serious about their fitness come check us out!

I've been going here consistently for 6 months.
I live in Portland but I go here after work because it's a great gym. A great place for people of all levels. Beginner classes if you're starting. Emphasis on good form. Welcoming and friendly atmosphere. The coaches are well-trained athletes in excellent condition, and also friendly people with a great sense of humor. HIGHLY recommend.

I tried out Crossfit Tigard for a week, and absolutely loved it! PJ, the owner, is brilliant. He taught my first class and was incredibly helpful and patient with my beginner status to Crossfit. Ben, one of the trainers, was also amazing, and he helped me achieve a proper squat position for the first time in my life! Stephanie and Mark are another two outstanding trainers that I worked with while taking the Elements (beginner) classes.

I've been training at P.A.W. for about a year and have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Head Coach P.J. and staff provide a great mix of high intensity intervals for metabolic conditioning, and down&dirty iron pumping for strength training. They provide the best programmed warmups I've ever experienced - which are designed to really prepare you for the movements to be performed that day - and are often a challenging little mini-WOD. For those who are not satisfied with the level of work during the normal workout, they provide plenty of programmed supplemental work for anyone wanting to take it to the next level, which I love. Great members, great coaches, great box!

Simply put, CrossFit PAW is the greatest. I have been working out there for about 6 months and can't say enough good things. The coaches are fantastic, motivating, and incredibly thorough about form and skills to prevent injury- they can modify the exercises to any level of athlete while still making you feel like you are getting the ultimate work out. The entire time I was at Crossfit P.A.W. I loved it. Crossfit is an amazing sport, but the people you train with make all the difference.
The coaches at P.A.W. are incredibly supportive and very knowledgeable, a top priority is safety and form. After moving out of Portland I realized how spoiled I had been at P.A.W. Not every Crossfit box is going to foster your growth the way that this one does. Plus the people are super fun! I barely recognized myself after 3 months of hard work, I'm hooked on Crossfit and am so thankful for all of the good habits I formed, and inspiring people I met wile training at P.A.W.

I have been going to CrossFit P.A.W for about 4 months now and I absolutely love the experience! The best part about the gym is the attention to detail that is given to your lifting form. PJ and Ben are excellent instructors and always emphasize form over weight.
Over the past 4 months, I have seen a significant increase in my lifts, improved my endurance and set a PR at the Portland Marathon.

The thing that I enjoy the most about Crossfit P.A.W. is that their coaches are extremely helpful and are willing to work with you as you progress. They aren't put out that they have to scale the various exercises. I also like that there is instruction during each class.
The thing that amazes me the most is that they are able to have such a diverse group of people working out simultaneously. Men and women. Beginners and experts. The weak and the strong.
I've attempted to do the whole Crossfit thing on my own and it just isn't the same. There's something about having PJ (the owner) or Ben encouraging you to keep going when you want to quit that just can't be replicated in your own little home gym.
I'm a results-oriented person so I'd be remiss to leave out the fact that I've experienced huge strides in the two and a half months I've been attending.
