My partner and I started attending this studio for dance lessons a couple months ago and have had the most wonderful experience. All the instructors and staff are so kind and welcoming - they've fostered a wonderful environment for newbs like us to learn and progress! Excited to continuing coming for the foreseeable future!

I cannot stop raving about Jack and Rachel and the amazing, beautiful work they do. My fiance and I took Rachel's classes through PSU, and after graduating kept in touch with more of her classes and Argentine Tango dance nights.

We reached out on a whim to see if she and her husband would be willing to come and teach an intro dance lesson at our wedding reception, and it is possibly one of the best decisions we made while wedding planning.

Not only are they wonderful, incredible people, but they are amazing dancers and even better teachers. Having them there to teach dances and lead during our reception was a game changer. It wouldn't have been nearly as fun, lively, or involved without the two of them. They went 100% above and beyond. I am so grateful for the incredible work they did, and our guests all raved about them!

I really love this dance studio. I've been coming here for a long time and I think it's the perfect place to learn to dance, or to enjoy dancing. This is such a positive, happy place and there's a lot of special people here that make it so amazing-- especially the owners/teachers Rachel and Jack! If you're interested in dancing, even if you don't have a partner (you don't need one, you'll meet new people!), or even if you're totally new (they love newbies!), I think you should come here. I'm glad this place exists!

If you are planning your wedding and looking for dance lessons, I cannot recommend this studio enough. We nailed our first dance in front of 80+ guests, and had so much fun. Rachel is a fantastic teacher, and so kind, positive and patient. We took several private dance lessons with her and her husband Jack (also a wonderful teacher) in the months leading up to our wedding, and the lessons quickly became the best part of wedding planning. We had never really danced much before this, but we had the basics of a routine down after our very first lesson. Highly recommend!

We worked with Rachel for our wedding first dance and could not recommend her enough. She was so welcoming and made us immediately comfortable. It's very evident she is VERY experienced and knowledgeable about dance. We love the dance routine she choreographed for us. We opted for 6 lessons. We probably could've done it in fewer but it was so much fun we wanted to keep coming back to finesse the routine.

My wife and I had our first dance lesson with Rachel & Jack, and we had a fantastic time! They are positive, encouraging, patient, and wonderful teachers! Talking with them and working with them felt as if we had known them for years. Honestly, the only thing I would change if I could would have been starting lessons years ago rather than just starting now.

If you have been looking for dance lessons, I highly recommend Dance With Joy Studios. We had so much fun, and felt so great after our lesson, that my wife and I began to discuss our next lessons before we even got back to the car. We cannot wait to go back!

Rachel taught my husband and I a dance for our wedding. My husband has no dance experience (like, can't even find a down beat) and she was wonderful about teaching him the basics, and teaching us beautiful choreography that he had mastered after our 5 classes. The dance was so beautiful it made our wedding DJ cry (she said it was the most beautifully phrased dance she'd ever seen), and was a huge hit with the guests! Working with Rachel was amazing, and she is extremely talented. I highly recommend her for your wedding dance needs.

This is the best workout I have ever done! And I cannot wait to go back after finishing a class. I am overweight and a little uncoordinated and Kris (the instructor) makes me feel perfectly comfortable and accepted. Kris has so much energy and is fun and positive. She is by far the best instructor I have ever had. Don't miss out on your chance to exercise and have fun at the same time.

I first came to Dance with Joy Studios before they expanded and was welcomed and mentored by Rachel. She gives her business all her love and is one of the best dance teachers I know. She has spent decades teaching her art and connects with each and every student with so much care. All her instructors and hopefully me too (I am lucky to be one of her teachers) are all mentored by Rachel to make sure the experience of taking class at Dance with Joy Studios is the optimal learning experience. This studio has many classes to choose from, a host for many years to world renowned instructors that teach workshops, a great place for socials, and also events in beautiful Sellwood! One of the best, most clear, most enjoyable lessons I have been to in months! Rachel is knowledgeable, energetic, warm and very helpful! We showed up the Saturday night social with a lesson in Country Two Step, something we had not tried before, and walked away feeling very comfortable dancing a whole song. She made the rhythm, feel and technique of the dance very accessible and showed us the ropes in just an hour!

Rachel would be a great teacher for dancers at any level! Totally new or looking to refine technique, I can't recommend Dancing with Joy enough!!

I got a month unlimited pass here and have been taking all the classes I can the past several weeks. I have been so amazed by the caliber of each instructor, the breadth of dances the studios teaches, and the warmth and welcome of the owners. I highly recommend the studio as a place to develop skilled dance technique in a comfortable, fun space. It's very welcoming to beginners while giving all level dancers a lot to work on and develop. There's always ample parking on the street just outside too.

I spend three hours here each week dancing NIA with Andrea Bell. This space is filled with such a lovely, warm-hearted group of people. With so many choices on the schedule I often dip my toe into other classes but always come back to NIA. My favorite.
