I've been a student at Daya for several years now, and I love it! Every class is an opportunity to learn something new. Sarahjoy is a warm and knowledgeable teacher, well-versed in both anatomy and yoga principles. I always leave feeling calm, refreshed, and centered. I highly recommend her classes to anyone seeking a peaceful and welcoming space to practice yoga.

The yoga classes and yoga teacher training programs here are ALL amazing! They offer 200 and 300 hour yoga teacher training that are truly transformative and life-changing, and an 800 hour yoga therapy training that dives even deeper. Their teachers are all well trained in trauma-informed language and dedicated to the traditional and authentic lineage of yoga. I cannot recommend this studio highly enough!

SarahJoy, her team and community have been both inspiring and deeply supportive. I am blown away with how naturally the teachings flow from SarahJoy, mentors and ambassadors. I am deeply grateful and highly recommend SarahJoy’s trainings for anyone looking to deepen their understanding of yoga philosophy and yoga therapy practices.

I was disappointed with my experience at this studio a while back. It felt like a cookie cutter example of white appropriation of other cultures and made me feel uncomfortable. To add to it, the leader of the class seemed to have a god complex that made me not want to come back. I had heard good things, but I had an overwhelmingly negative experience here.

The very first time I walked in the doors, I knew I would be back. Everything about the studio says welcome home to me.
I feel like I would need to write 100 reviews to say all the great things I want to say about thus organization, from the work the founder does to bring yoga to people in prison, to the adaptive yoga classes, to the teacher trainings, there's a lot to love. But what has kept me coming back is the teachers. Start with an Amrita class with Sarahjoy, a Bo Yoga class with Nate, and a restorative class with Heather Smith. Your body, heart, mind, and soul will thank you!
(Full disclosure: I'm a brand new teacher here, but I've been coming for years as a student, so I feel I can speak with authority on this wonderful place with these wonderful people!)

Daya is a wonderful center full of wonderful people. Sure, it is a bit expensive, but unfortunately that is the case for all Yoga studios in the Portland area and Daya is actually less expensive for monthly passes than other studios in the area that I’ve looked at. Daya has great classes, wonderful instructors, excellent assistive devices, and an atmosphere that welcomes all people from all walks of life with all abilities. I would highly recommend checking it out if you’re interested in either starting or continuing a yoga practice. I’m so glad I found this place, it is exactly what my mind and body needed.

I have been a student here for a little over 5 years. It's my favorite studio to practice yoga in. The yoga classes are wonderful and the dharma talks and teacher trainings are also offerings that I enjoy and highly recommend. This studio is also a welcoming and comfortable place for people of all genders, backgrounds, medical histories, body types, and abilities.

Highly unsafe, unwelcoming place to practice yoga. The organization claims to be social justice oriented, yet 2 of the 3 teachers running the “trauma-informed” yoga teacher training are extremely racist and bigoted. To make a long story short, I found this out because one of the teachers has "Make America Great Again" tattooed on them in Sanskrit. For obvious reasons, I would not recommend to POC, queer, trans, and/or disabled folks.

I was looking for a nice place to do yoga and heard good things about this place, but that was not my experience. Prices are too high, staff was rude, and it was a headache interacting with them. I have now taken my business elsewhere.
