I cannot say enough positive things about EKC. Welcoming, inclusive, and a great place to go if you have anxiety about group exercise. Like I had! The couches are helpful and will assist with exercise modifications when asked. They support important causes and the community and host fun social events/fundraisers.

I’ve never been a person who enjoys working out until now, and it’s in large part because of EKC. This place is so welcoming, positive, and encouraging. Everyone comes as they are and are met where they’re at without judgement. I’ve never felt better in my body than I do now and I can’t wait to keep working with the amazing people at EKC.

Working out here has been the best thing I have ever done for my physical and mental wellbeing. The classes are so invigorating and I always leave with a smile on my face and feeling ready to take on the rest of the day. The format gives me just the right amount of autonomy, guidance, accountability and flexibility to get the results I want. Everyone I have encountered has been kind, uplifting and brings great energy to the space and the instructors all give helpful, tailored feedback in ways that help me avoid injury and genuinely improve. I love it here.

This gym is an absolute pillar to the queer fitness community. Coach Kristen is the realest instructor around for offering the muscle mommies classes and sharing their knowledge to people of all skill levels. Very inclusive and welcoming space. This place deserves all the support it can get!

This gym will kick your butt, leave you feeling stronger mentally and physically, connect you with amazing people, and help you feel stronger in your life, no matter your fitness level, hardcore level, etc. I have always been active but was always intimidated by weightlifting, and finally took the plunge in my late 30's. Felecia and Eloise and Amy and everyone here create the most supportive environment where you can be a beginner, you can be an expert, you can be learning, you can be training for something or just wanting to get stronger, and no matter what you are welcomed and encouraged. It is so hard but so rewarding. Thank you EKC!

It’s more than a great than a great gym. EKC’s owners created a supportive community that is unique in the fitness industry. I hadn’t touched a weight in years before stumbling upon this gem over a year ago and now I’m hooked. Try it. You won’t regret it.

My first class was Election Day 2024 (therapeutic to say the least). I’ve been hooked ever since. Eloise & Felicia created a caring, non judgmental, body positive community that has transformed not only my perception of gyms, but my own body! I am stronger and healthier and I love that feeling. Diverse classes for all levels & Zumba on Sundays will leave you smiling all day. The big open doors for fresh air is lovely too. Grateful for this space. 💪🏽

I am OBSESSED with this gym and this community. Local, neighborhood gyms are so hard to find, and this gym is also women owned and so inclusive! I’m constantly inspired by the coaches, members, and the effort/consistency that everyone brings here. And I haven’t even talked about the workouts, equipment, or offerings that are here! I love love love this gym and I’m so grateful I’ve found Eloise and Felecia and the space they’ve created. I’ve been a member for 8 months.

What would you do to get a better body? If you can make a little time in your schedule, this is the place to feel healthier, with more energy, and no problem getting replies to your Tinder messages.
Eastside kettlebell collective is the best studio gym experience in Portland, it offers a wide variety of workouts from flexibility to cardio to strength, in groups small enough that there’s always personal attention available if you need help with your form.
The space has good ventilation and effective heating and cooling, so you should be pretty comfortable while working out.
As a woman this is the gym to go to feel comfortable, men are welcome at the gym but the distinctly feminine energy of the space and the staff means that dudes are on their best behavior.

EKC has been welcoming, supportive, and flexible within my needs. I never could have imagined the growth I have experienced within these walls.
When I began my personal recovery journey, I was broken, insecure, and full of self-doubt. Eloise, the EKC Team, and the programs that have been created, helped me gain the belief that I am capable of showing up for myself. I have been given the opportunity to rebuild, strengthen, and move forward. I am extremely grateful to Eloise and EKC for being part of my journey.
This magical place brings together a community willing and open to grow together. Not only do we build our own personal strengths, but we can also help our neighbor. I feel safe while exploring something new and encouraged to embrace my own challenges.
I still don't know if I am doing it right, but I keep trying! I remain curious and patient with myself. I have learned so many new workouts, stretches, and lifts. I have been able to grow at my own pace and remain motivated. I look forward to my next class, without judgment and full acceptance.
- Great variety of classes/times
- Easy to book & stay up to date on events
- Clean
- Great location
- AMAZING PEOPLE!

I've been coming for seven weeks now, and love it. Eloise, Felecia, and Estella have all been great across the classes I've taken (Conditioning, Seven, and HIIT/Kick). In every class the instructors have had time to work with me on the specific movement at a station after the group explanation, and helped modify when it's challenging. I leave drenched, and sore for a couple days. Perfect.

10/10 would recommend. Eloise & Felecia keep classes fun, challenging and thoughtful. Also, in November 2018 Eloise wrote a speed class when it was suppose to be TGU class. Never going to let that down. <3

I started going to EKC in November knowing nothing about kettlebells and it has been an amazing experience. The time + attention the instructors give to ensure proper form and technique has been so valuable, it's the next best thing to one-on-one coaching (which is also an option if you need it!).
They offer a wide range of classes (with AND without kettlebells), seven days a week, starting early (6:30am) and going late (7:30pm) on most days- I love the flexibility and it gives me so many options to fit my workout in with my busy schedule. For advanced folks unstructured, open gym time slots are also available.
On a personal note, I have very much appreciated the accessible, welcoming and encouraging environment that EKC provides. Gyms can be SO intimidating, but I've always felt supported + celebrated by the other EKC gym goers and welcome to ask the instructors for additional directions or modifications (since much of this is new to me) when I need it. I have never been pressured to do more than I feel comfortable with, and I have always come away feeling stronger and more confident than when I started. Thanks so much, y'all!

Eastside Kettlebell Club isn't just a gym, it's a community. Felecia, Eloise and crew are incredibly kind, knowledgeable and passionate about training, and they take the time to ensure you're using proper form to maximize your workout and avoid injury. I started training here twice a week, and I've seen a huge improvement in my strength and stamina. I end each workout feeling energized, accomplished, and happy with my body.
If you're looking for a challenging and rewarding workout experience, I highly recommend Eastside Kettlebell Club!

This place has the best local neighborhood gym vibe. The instructors are fun, encouraging and knowledgeable. Heavy weights can be intimidating but this place does a really good job of making you feel like you belong and that you’re capable. And the workouts will kick your butt! I love how strong I’ve gotten since attending this gym.

Sheer luck that we moved to a place that's a short walk from EKC. Didn't really know much about kettlebells but decided to check it out. I'm a building contractor and a 30-plus-year tradesman with lots of wear and tear on my body, and working out here has been incredibly good for me, far beyond what I expected going in. It's perfect for core strength, balance, flexibility and evening out muscle development. I have a lot less back pain than I did before starting here. The instructors are excellent, you can easily tailor the workouts to your level, the schedule is easy and convenient online, the monthly passes are a great deal, and the vibe in the gym is very comfortable. Can't recommend this enough.

Since COVID, it's been so hard to find a place that feels warm, welcoming, fun, and offers a sense of community. I finally found that at EKC. Everyone, from the instructors to the gym members, are so accepting of all body types, people, and ability. There are so many types of classes, from strength to HIIT to kickboxing to Zumba. I am so happy I finally found a gym where I can show up as myself and hang out with cool people!

So... For those of us who worked out at home during the pandemic because we were "saving money" and could simultaneously watch SNL clips while doing HIIT YouTube workouts, but maybe skipped 3-7 days a week, this gym may be something of a wakeup call. But, like an awesome Rosalia anthem of a wakeup call. Something you can't help but dance to.
Felecia and Eloise will show you the way to proper body mechanics and to strength and conditioning -- whatever that might look like for the body you inhabit (for me, it was slow and steady and success still looks like not hurting myself). I don't mind that I learned I wasn't as strong as I thought I was, or that I forget how to do complicated routines by the end of each class. It's enough to show up, to try something new, to work hard at those things I can do and laugh and feel comfortable being a learner.
I am loving not having the fear of not knowing a move, or doing it wrong, of not being hardcore, of not wearing the right clothes, etc, etc. (I will do many moves wrong, I am trading in all my spandex for Russels gym shorts because they ARE the superior workout attire.)
And, there is something magical about the people who attend this gym -- such humanity, grace and humor -- I never feel like I am in the way, or that there's ever a conflict with space or equipment (even in weekend morning classes which are usually the busiest). I love that there are all kinds of people who attend this gym. I love that there are all body sizes and all different approaches. I love that Felecia and Eloise organize collective actions and gym events. I see their care and love in this special community.
Quick note about COVID safety: I think EKC has a really measured approach. They require vaccinations and recommend but don't require masks (in a given class about half the room will wear masks). Folks are diligent about cleaning and spacing out. I think this is a best case scenario for what working out in a group can look like.

As a runner with a history of 3 femoral neck stress fractures (and more in other places) I used to have the assumption that my body was frail and weak and powerless. I started going to this gym in grad school when it was @bleedingheartskc and it was the first time i started to change the story about my body and what it could accomplish.
Last year when they re opened from Covid and I re committed to strength training I’ve found myself actually pushing the boundaries of the weights I choose way more than when I only focused on running. And while on overhead press literally has NO bearing to your physical running ability, this has meant EVERYTHING to my mental ability of my own strength, health, and how I talk to myself about my body.
In class last week we were challenged to do one strict overhead press, and for a girl that used to never reach for anything more than 15lbs, pushing 35 over head felt like a huge achievement.
So thankful for this space and the trainers that always feel so welcoming and safe, meet you were you’re at, but also challenge you to push your boundaries. Broken hip, on crutches, fragile Rachel is literally crying with joy at the process and the progress.❤️

EKC is an inclusive space that honors the diversity of people who walk through its doors. Workouts are hard but fun, modifications are always available, and safety is the number one priority. This place is about community, too, so you can expect to make friends and give back to local charities/fundraisers. If you're new to kettlebells or exercise in general, don't be afraid to try it out.
ALL* people are welcome here! (*except for toxic gym bros and bigots, you can go elsewhere)

This is the best gym I’ve ever been a part of - it truly feels like a community space that also just happens to be a gym. Eloise and Felicia push me to challenge myself and are so good about giving pointers on form. It’s been so fun and empowering to see my form improve and my strength increase. The workouts are always killer and my time at EKC is always a bright spot in my day!

EKC provides a unique workout space with an intentional focus to be inclusive of all bodies and genders (with a centering of femme & gender diverse folx). Class-based workouts (with open gym options at specific times) are challenging & always different. The coaching is excellent--great attention to technique, relayed in an encouraging teaching style, with an aim of building strength safely. New classes and types of workouts are being added on the regular--Zumba, powerlifting, mobility for athletes. The community at EKC is one of mutual aid and support--there is an expectation of community, so you shouldn't expect to remain anonymous.

First time using kettlebells to workout and loved it! Both my husband and I liked the intensity of the workouts. Instructors are fun, friendly and just awesome. They are always making sure everyone's form is correct, something very important imho. Highly recommend if you're looking into kettlebell workouts.
