I have been working with the Elevate team now for just under 6-weeks and have had a wonderful experience. The space feels very inclusive (people of all ages, sizes, fitness levels), the team is incredibly knowledgeable and fun to work with, and the actual strength training/workouts have been great. I have been working out twice a week with the staff at Elevate Performance and Health for just over 4 years. It has been the most consistent exercise program I have ever had, and I am in my 70s. The staff (Alex, Sam, and Nate) are ALL very knowledgeable with excellent teaching / coaching skills. I especially appreciate that the program is different each of the days and it changes every six weeks. So, no boredom! The personal attention given with semi-private training is just what I need and well worth the price charged. With a set time clients get to know each other and are supportive of each other. I actually look forward to going each time.

I am very impressed with my trainer Sam . I have worked with several personal trainers over the years. Elevate Performance is on another level! Their expertise working with clients who have chronic aches and pain is excellent. Sam advised me to see an orthopedic surgeon for my left hip. After the diagnosis, Sam has created a program specifically for me to build muscle and strength in that area. Since I have been working out at elevate, I haven’t been to a chiropractor for a back adjustment . Sam also helped me get back on my feet after two knee replacements. I have arthritis in my ankle and wrists but I still get a good workout, working around with different weights and positions.

Elevate health and fitness has had a great impact on my fitness and health journey. I picked the program with a customized workout plan and two classes per week. When I go in one or all of the coaches or team members work with clients all on their own plan. I never feel like I am competing for attention from the coaches. I had never lifted a weight before and had no idea what I was doing at a gym besides using a treadmill but Elevate Fitness made it so easy to get started. I needed guidance, support, and accountability, and they delivered all of that and more. The trainers are super encouraging, flexible, and great to talk to! Alex, Sam, and Nate at Elevate have been an essential part of my healing journey from chronic pain and flare-ups. If you’re stuck in the chronic pain catch-22—wanting to work out because you think exercise might help manage the pain, but finding that workouts only worsen the pain—Elevate training might be exactly what you need.
Because of my chronic pain, I thought I was very good at listening to my body, but I still had a “work through the pain” mentality when it came to working out. The team at Elevate is exceptionally skilled at identifying movements that cause pain, finding ways to make them better, or even recommending scaling back completely until a solution is found.
I’m now able to do exercises and movements I never thought I could do without pain, and I’m excited to continue training and progressing. The more the team learns about me and how my body responds, the more specific my training becomes. The Elevate team’s attention to detail, passion for human behavior, sense of humor, and compassion make coming to the gym enjoyable and have helped me rebuild my relationship with working out.
The intro session is truly free, come prepared to talk about your goals, do a movement assessment with Alex, and prepare for next steps. The team is ready to accommodate a wide range of objectives, from reducing knee pain to preparing for competitions. Memberships are highly customizable, and the small groups are filled with kind and friendly people. Plus, the app—if you choose to use it—is very convenient for coordinating your schedule.

I've been an at-home exerciser for years but the past five months with Elevate have changed my mind about working out in a gym.
I had hit a wall with my exercise routine. My body was hurting and it felt like some part of me was always injured. Whatever I had been doing all these years just wasn't cutting it anymore. I needed a change, I needed help.
So after much internal debate, I joined a gym. But Elevate isn't just any gym. Since starting my personal training journey I feel so much better. Been coming to Elevate for about 18 months now. When I first started I was 2 months postpartum and felt the weakest I’ve ever been. This gym has been great for accountability—I love that you have a specific time slot but it’s also super flexible if you need to reschedule. I also love the semi-private format where I can get all the help I need or all the independence I want. This gym has really helped me achieve and continue to reach my fitness goals. I had a hard time at large conventional gyms knowing what to do or even doing the exercises correctly. I struggled seeing progress before coming to this gym and now after 5 months I've already seen improvement in muscle mass, movement, and energy levels. Here the trainers create a completely judgement free zone and offer lots of knowledge about correct stretches and exercises that help rehab your body and reach your fitness goals whether that be strength, weight loss, or just helping relieve chronic pain. This place is worth every penny!! Alex does a great job of the initial assessment of movement and talking in depth about your fitness goals to help set up a plan specific for your body's needs. I came to Salem as a travel nurse for 3 months. I also was coming from working with a private trainer 1:1 for over a year, so I wasn’t sure what to expect with small training classes. From day 1 Alex, Sam and Nate have been welcoming and incredibly knowledgeable, and have really helped my form and strength. I can be stubborn and want to push myself to injury, but they educated me on things I was doing that could cause more harm. I’ve had multiple injuries In the past from rotator cuff tears, to bicep tendon inflammation to hip impingement, tendon tears, etc. The trainers all have helped to correct my form so I’m not lifting in pain. This gym has folks of all ages and fitness levels and it’s a welcoming community of people. It’s one of my favorite hours in the week. The schedule is flexible which helps since I’m a nurse and my work days change weekly. My goal with lifting is to get stronger, but doing so safely. And even though I’m going to be leaving them soon, I truly feel like they have given me tools to take with me that I would not have learned without them. If you’re looking for a gym, whether you’re a beginner or experienced, this is definitely the place to come. I’m going to really miss this gym and all the trainers.

I had been doing crossfit for the last 8+ years and have a shoulder issue that kept me from doing quite a few movements. I am now in my second month here and not only is my shoulder pain and range of motion improving, but I am also building strength and stabilization in areas I never have before. Alex and Sam are phenomenal!! They take the time to truly get to know you and what your goals are and then make a custom plan to get you there! They are so kind and compassionate and show just how much they care through their work! They always greet me right away when I walk in and thanks to their system they have, the gym is never too full and it is always very clean and well ventilated! This is exactly what I needed and I am so thankful to have found them! They are friendly, personable, incredibly knowledgeable, and professional. They give you their full attention and fully listen to you no matter what. I never feel rushed, confused, or frustrated during my workouts and leave feeling empowered mentally and physically. They help me through any sore spots, injuries, or weak areas I may have and adjust to meet my needs! Not only are they true personal trainers (compared to “fitness coaches” nowadays) but they also act similarly to physical therapists when needed! They have given me deep tissue massages and good stretching exercises to help with my problem areas. I 11/10 highly recommend them! If you have been considering a personal trainer for a long time like I was, I definitely recommend that you schedule a free consultation with them, you won’t regret it!

I've enjoyed the small group workouts with an individualized workout plan. I'd come here way more often if my schedule allowed! The gym has everything I could think of ever using, it's always clean and the people are always so supportive and down-to-earth. I've enjoyed being challenged and encouraged for the last three months and would recommend checking them out to see if they are a good fit. The only downside is their availability. I'm a busy person who'd prefer the weekends be fully open for workouts, but we make it happen.

I’ve been training here for 4 weeks now. Working with Alex and D has been game changing for me. They are both so insightful when it comes to technique and form. They take the time to teach and explain the “whys” that help me to adjust. Alex holds me accountable in a way that is kind and makes me want to be better. Prior to working out at Elevate, I would workout through my shoulder/ankle/knee pain. In my time here, Alex has helped me address the problem areas and is able to work those kinks out. Over the years i have been in many gyms, had a few trainers and done countless hours of workouts. I have never had this kind of approach that Alex has to tailoring specific workouts to the person and analyzing their strengths and weaknesses. Elevate was recommended to me by a former employee of mine. She had nothing but praise for Alex and it didn't take long to see why.
My wife and I signed up for semi-private training. Alex interviewed us, took into account our age and any medical conditions, and designed a training plan taylor made for each of us. He encouraged us and challenged us, closely monitoring our progress, and increasing the degree of difficulty as we met the goals of each plan.
The gym is clean and the equipment is well maintained. And Alex is an amazing trainer. He's really attuned to the individual needs of his clients.

Elevate is a unique personal training gym. You don't compete for the weights with other members as you would in a big box gym and there are options to use the home facility as well as build programs that involve outside gyms or home equipment. Alex is a very knowledgable trainer who has helped me solve nerve weakness in my neck and shoulder and helped me to continue to workout while I got through an ACL repair surgery and the associated rehab. It is a commitment of time, effort and money in my body that has really paid off for me. The chiropractic office and the kettlebell training option in the same gym are also really unique and make this a very good place to invest in yourself.

I’ve been training at Elevate for 4 weeks now, and I love it! This is my first time working with a personal trainer, and I was a little worried about picking the right one. Alex is an amazing personal trainer — very professional, responsive to emails, takes the time to explain everything from nutrition to small details of the form to make sure the exercises are functional and safe. They really keep you accountable so that you can get the most out of your workouts! My body already feels so much lighter, and the normal aches and pains I used to feel are disappearing. I’m glad that safety is a top concern here, because if anything ever feels like it hurts or like something is off, Alex always takes the time to break down the movement or modify the exercise. I had a torn rotator cuff when I met Alex. After a thorough evaluation he thought he could help me avoid an operation ( recommended by Ortho MD). With focused training Alex got me back to where I was before my injury. I am able to do activities as before! I’ve experienced occasional knee pain with various excercies throughout my years of working out but at Elevate Training my workouts are modified to make sure that I stay pain free while still feeling as though I’m getting a good workout. I can always count on an explanation as to why I am feeling that pain and a few exercises I can use to help fix the potential problem. Met-Con (Metabolic Conditioning). Some people may find if offensive that they aren’t able to just sign up and pay for a class that seems interesting to them. After attending the sessions every week for over a year, I completely understand why the class is open to clients by invitation only. It’s for their own good. It’s fast paced and different each week. There is no time for instruction on how to do the exercises. One week the session will be a complex combined with a ladder and the next might be a swing challenge, or something that is seemingly as simple as a ladder of swings. I said simple, not easy. It’s never easy. The good news is. . . . . once you are invited to join it is because you have become proficient in the exercises that will be presented in the class. The best part is that Alex knows each of his clients so well that he will guide them on the appropriate Kettle-bell weight. Last Saturday we did a ladder of Kettle-bell swings from 1 – 20 every minute on the minute. At first, I thought he might have made a mistake. For the first few rounds that 20KG Kettle-bell felt very light. However, by the time I got to 20 swings in the last minute I was thankful Alex chose that weight for me. If I had used a heavier bell I know I wouldn’t have been able to complete the ladder. 210 swings in 20 minutes. Wow!
Joining Elevate is the best decision I’ve made in the last two years. I recently added another day to my program with exercises tailored to suit my needs in addition to Met-Con and the two-day a week Small Group weight training. Who goes anywhere fours days a week unless they love it?

I came to Alex to lose weight as I had failed so many times by myself. Not only have I lost weight but I got rid of a lot of pain that I thought was a part of getting older. I had back, knee, shoulder and plantar fasciitis. He showed me stretches and excersizes that have me almost pain free. He is kind, patient and motivating. I cannot give this man a higher recommendation!
