Absolutely in love with this studio. The space is industrial but ethereal and filled with plants and sunlight/ moonlight depending on the time. Currently I'm taking the Yin Restorative Yoga and it has been a truly healing experience. Ghost is the kind of person who can make a space feel safe and inviting, which is such a contrast to the world at large. She is a fabulous teacher and the class itself is something my soul and body ached for. This studio feels like coming home to your body. Thank you lovely humans for allowing me to be a member and to enjoy the magical space you've created and curated 💕✨️
EDITET TO ADD: They are BIPOC, industry, and disability inclusive in really important ways! I'm looking forward to attending both the BIPOC and Disability Pole Jams as both seem to provide a really fantastic chance for community 💕

Ghost's restorative yin class at fig combines the perfect amount of easeful gentle movements with a soft spoken guided meditation. I was able to work through and release stress and tension held in my body with the mindful color therapy and clear spoken instructions. Ghost has a memerizing and tranquil quality that is perfect for this type of practice. I always leave Ghost's class with a deep sense of serenity and contentment. I highly recommend Restorative Yin to those seeking to ground and find home within their mind and body.

I took my first pole class in years today and wow what a wonderful experience. Everyone was so sweet and welcoming, making me feel right at home. This space is truly a sanctuary where community can gather, learn, and grow together. As a sex worker I feel so grateful such an inclusive, safe, and supportive space exists. Thank you Fig Tree Studio! I can’t wait to explore the many different classes/workshops that are offered.

I had so much fun taking Bethany’s Flex & Flow class! I went on a rainy day and really enjoyed the cozy, comfortable environment. There was also hot tea which elevated the comfy vibes. Can’t wait to take another class!

I’ve done classes at a handful of studios over the years. Some are better than others. As a professional spicy dancer I have never felt so welcomed or enjoyed classes more than at this studio. Mel in particular is a great instructor and I super appreciate her. The space is also very beautiful and inviting.

A lovely and warm studio that I got to visit while on a trip to Portland. I live outside of OR, but have been following fig tree on IG for a bit, and knew that I really wanted to attend Mayte's classes. It was their last weekend teaching before a sabbatical, and it was a wonderful way to reconnect with my body. The studio has so much natural light, and a really grounding aura. I'd really like to return for a week or two and be able to take more of their class offerings. Always happy to support a sw owned space.

I absolutely love Fig Tree Studio! The space is cozy, warm, and welcoming from the moment you walk in. It has such a strong sense of community that you can feel through both the instructors and students. Mel and Margot have truly put a piece of themselves into this place, and it shows in every detail. They’ve created a supportive, inclusive environment where everyone can feel comfortable expressing themselves and growing. I look forward to every class and always leave feeling inspired and empowered. Couldn’t recommend this place more!

Fig has been an absolutely magical experience for me. With each class I've taken, I leave feeling nourished and enriched in a way that I haven't experience in any other type of class. It's allowed me the tenderness and space to come home to myself and my body. I have always felt so cared for by the instructors in a way that is unlike any other studio I've been to and it's the instructors and community that keeps me coming back.

I’m so happy Fig Tree is in North Portland! Gorgeous space, fabulous instructors, and super cozy setting. I felt safe to share my movement and share in the movement of others, and I can see how much work they’ve put into cultivating a safe and caring dance environment :) I also really appreciate that they’ve been open about their support for Palestinian liberation, as I want to spend my money at local businesses that share in liberation on a global scale.

My first class was with Morgan and I really got a feel for what this place is all about. The class was inclusive to all skill levels and body types, while giving some seriously good tips that I still think about today! I cannot recommend this place enough! what a joy! Thanks again Morgan :)!

I’ve had nothing but positive experiences at Fig Tree. I’ve taken a multiple different classes and it’s been an honor to meet and learn from these very talented instructors! In my experience fig tree has been a very safe & inclusive space. I have a dynamic disability so abilities change day to day and it’s hard to plan for these kinds of classes. At this studio thou, every instructor has made it a point to find any modifications I needed and include me in the process! I also feel seen in my genderqueer identity and feel safe to show up feeling like me! I’ll continue supporting and learning from this incredible studio!

This space is absolutely gorgeous and the energy of the studio is incredibly supportive. I did a foundations class after taking some time off pole for a few months and I could not have asked for a better class to reset my pole journey. My instructor created a safe space by explaining all movement step by step and was clear and encouraging. As someone with experience, it was wonderful to return to basics. Plus, an incredible workout even as a beginner class. I will definitely be back!

What a GEM of a studio! I dropped in for a slow flow class with Sarah (who is sunshine in human form), and was totally enchanted by this cozy & intimate studio. Plush couches and seating, so many herbal teas, beautiful skylights, and flattering lighting. An unexpected delight was having individual mirrors. I'm used to full walls of mirrors at dance studios, and these breaks in the space made me feel less inhibited and more focused on my own process. That said, I could absolutely check out any angle of the combos, and also got to be face to face with the instructor (instead of always looking at their reflection). Also, did I mention the poles? I think the shortest height was 14', with this uber tall pole that you could easily fit three people on. Can't wait to play on those! The sound system worked nicely in the space, and I could still easily hear the instructor. The vibe is truly artist loft + spa + pole / movement studio + bestie's living room. Cheers to Fig Tree for creating such a lovely space!

I love this studio! I’ve taken two fundamentals of pole classes here and they have both been amazing. The instructor, Mel, is kind, patient and knowledgeable. The space itself is ethereal. It’s an amazing full body workout and a perfectly paced introduction to pole, and the cooldown at the end leaves me feeling so serene and in tune with my body. I would recommend these classes to anyone!

What a beautiful studio space! I took a beginners class and let me tell you, I am. Not Fit. The last exercise I did was multiple years ago when I failed out of my yoga class. The instructor, Mel, was so patient and kind. I never felt condescended to, or patronized. When I made progress (small as it was), it was noticed and remarked upon in a way that was uplifting and encouraging. The space was carefully staged, with everything any newbie could hope for, and really encouraged comfort in what could have been an uncomfortable situation. 10/10, my new year's resolution is to go weekly 🖤💕

Such a beautiful studio! I came for the grand opening and took a yin yoga class here. The yoga class was amazing!! It was a very calming experience and really helped me connect to my body. I already knew I would like fig tree after the grand opening, but the class itself went above my expectations. The space had candles, essential oil scents, pillows and blankets during our practice. It was so cozy. I’m really excited to try out the pole classes!

Went to my first class and knew I immediately found my pole studio. As a sw I felt right at home with being able to converse with others openly about our industry in a friendly environment. It was so fun, and I’ll definitely be booking classes weekly! Also it’s stripper owned so it’s obviously the place to go :)
