Evan has been amazing at helping me strengthen my back and shoulder after an injury a couple years ago. His training has improved my form, helped my posture, and strengthened my core. He doesn’t push past any limits, but definitely knows how to challenge his clients and get them a good workout without them feeling so sore the next day they think they were hit by a bus. He knows the human body well and how it’s all connected, and is passionate about the work he does. Always a great attitude, and really flexible to work with when it comes to scheduling snafus. I can definitely recommend Evan and verify his work.

Evan helped me get in the best shape of my life before my wedding. He customizes every workout to target focal areas, constantly challenge and adapt to your body. Working with him, I was able to get to my leanest and strongest self. Evan is constantly full of energy, creativity, and encouragement. He’s curious and wanted to learn about the workouts I did outside of our sessions to complement and adapt our programming. He pushes you passed your own limits while also being responsive to your body. Evan really takes the time to get to know you, works on short-term & long-term goals, and educates you so much. It’s not only about the investment of the actual workout or physical part. What I’ve taken from this is so much knowledge and experience on how to use proper form, do’s and don’ts, etc.

I trained with Evan for a few months to focus on losing weight and creating healthy habits. I was at a loss on how to begin this journey and could not have done so without Evan’s help. He is super knowledgeable and passionate about helping his clients. He always had time to answers my questions about my diet or specific exercises. About halfway through our training I started experiencing lower back and sciatic nerve pain. He worked with me to ensure I wasn’t aggravating it during my workouts and how to minimize flare ups in the future. After I was done with my scheduled sessions with him, he helped me set up my own weekly workout routines so I could stay on track and continue seeing progress. l highly recommend Evan! He is a great communicator and his personal training style is very customized, dynamic, and personable. After the first workout, I felt confident Evan would be a good fit and booked 10 sessions. I knew he was exactly what I wanted in a strength training coach. I've seen a lot of improvement in my strength and form after meeting 1-2x/week for 1:1 trainings over the last 2 months.
For background, I've been recovering from two herniated discs in my lower back, so I was anxious about finding a trainer equipped to handle my unique needs for rebuilding strength, but Evan easily met me where I was at and even shared that he had recovered from a similar type of injury to the low back and was more than equipped to help me fully recover and meet my strength goals. He tailors dynamic workouts specifically to my needs, helping me build strength and stability without the fear of re-injury. I also appreciate that he adds our workout routines to an app, allowing me to repeat them on my own time and stay consistent with my progress.
Also important to mention, he has proven to be incredibly reliable and professional. If I need to make a change to the schedule or I have a question he is very adaptable and quick to respond. I highly recommend Evan for anyone wanting to improve their strength and fitness safely and effectively!

I have worked out with Evan in several classes. He is always energetic, enthusiastic and encouraging. He does a great job explaining how to perform each maneuver/exercise and provides non-critical feedback on ways to improve. You’ll never find another trainer who cares more about your fitness, goes the extra mile to customize workouts to meet your goals, and gets you to have fun working out even if you don’t think it’s in your nature! True, it’s me that does the heavy lifting (so to speak), but Evan’s the man with the plan. In the first year I lost nearly 50 lbs working with him. In the second year, I’ve kept it off. Now entering year 3 in the best shape of my life with a bag full of new habits that I only wish I’d developed decades earlier. For me, 43 is the new 21 and Evan’s been a big part of it.

I highly recommend working with Evan. He loves what he is doing and it shows. His workouts are based on the results you are looking to see. If you want something intense he can make it that way. If you are just starting out like me, he gauges where you're at and designs your workout based on your fitness level. I am nearly 30 years of age and have worked out only a handful of times since my early teens. I am naturally thin, but have recently realized that I am out of shape and weak. I wanted to start living a more active lifestyle and that entails being strong; so I decided I needed someone to teach me how to incorporate exercise into my daily life.
Even is a great trainer! He customizes a workout session that is challenging but safe for my body. He listens to my goals and is motivated to help me achieve them. I think Even likes to make working out fun and exciting so that it can fit into anyone's lifestyle.

My sister and I had the opportunity to work with Evan for a little over a month and we were so pleased with our training/workouts. His knowledge in fitness and health was immeasurable and we really enjoyed the circuit style training that never left us feeling complacent or that our workouts were repetitive. I have been a client with Evan for the last 2 months and I have been more than happy with him and his expertise. I came in after a being out of the gym for over a year due to a bike injury. I had some injuries from my accident and Evan worked with me to get me back into shape! He worked with me to understand my limitations, and knew what my body needed to have a fulfilling workout. He has provided me with the support and motivation to do more.
He is the best at switching things up and never making anything boring. Every time we meet he is always smiling, joking, and always the happiest person in the room. He pushes my boundaries and shows me that I can do more and that I actually want to!
Not only has he gotten me to work out in the gym he has invited me to work on my nutrition with cooking classes at his house, and run the stairs at Mt Tabor. This shows me he is not just a gym head, he knows his stuff!
If you are looking for a trainer who is not only knowledgeable with the body and fitness, but also understands nutrition, and who has a great sense of humor than he is the trainer for you! You will leave feeling soar but wanting to come back for more! I have not regretted any moment working out with Evan!

Evan has helped me tremendously in the gym. I came there wanting to learn the basics of weight lifting, and he has really helped me enhance my knowledge, and work on my form, so I can ultimately do it on my own at the gym.
I have a tendency to get bored with the workouts I do on my own, and he always manages to keep me engaged and the workouts fresh. I told him I wanted to target a few other areas, and he tailored workouts specifically for those desired focus areas. He is always very positive and upbeat during our sessions, and clearly has a passion for what he does. Best of all, he emails you the workouts to motivate you to do them outside of our sessions which I love to have on hand whenever I am at the gym. I am already seeing results and looking forward to continuing my training!

I've had problems with my knees and lower back since high school. Its kept me from pursuing running and other activities that involve a lot of leg work. I worked with Evan for 6 months before I moved to San Fransisco in June for work. I made leaps and bounds of improvement while working with him. Since then I've implemented what he's taught me and the improvement continues. From school and years of sitting I had devolved an anterior pelvic tilt, tight hip flexors and dominant quads with weak hamstrings/glutes. This had been the cause of my knee/back pain. Through corrective exercises the problem was nearly fixed. Only after long days of sitting does my back sometime hurt (nothing like did before) and I've been running regularly and it hasn't been an issue! Evan's a great trainer! I don't know where I would be without him! I love you Evan!

Evan has been helping me get a solid workout routine which has been extremely helpful! I've been working out for a couple years now but my workouts have gotten a bit boring and I stopped progressing a long time ago. It's giving me a lot of motivation and my workouts are definitely much better!

Evan has helped me a ton recover from a wrist surgery. Evan was a perfect fit for me as it is much more affordable than a physical therapist and I am much more diligent to my routine as I am able to train with him more often. Very knowledgeable and fun to work out with. Also the Gym we work out in is very clean and not busy.

Very knowledgeable and helpful. I've been dealing with back pain for about 9 months. When I told him what was going on he immediately offered to help. Evan has given me a lot of insight on what's going on. He's emailed me some workouts and stretches that have been helping. I've never been in for an actual session but can tell he is dedicated and cares about helping people.

I've been working with Evan for a few months now, and it's been great. He keeps me motivated to stay active between workouts, and pushes me hard in our sessions together - though he's super communicative, and goes out of his way to make sure I'm not overdoing it.
He's also been super flexible with my awful work schedule, his rates are great, he's super friendly to chat with during sessions (though he doesn't let it get in the way if you finishing your workout), and he just seems like a genuinely cool, good guy.
The point is, if you're looking for a personal trainer in Portland, you should give Evan a call. It couldn't hurt, right?

Evan is one of the most dedicated personal trainers I have ever met. After working with him I was truly inspired to change the way I think about working out. Working out and getting trained by someone who is leading by example in the fitness field is motivating to say the least. Evan is not only extremely fit and motivating, he is also educated. I have been training with Evan for a little over two years now. I had trained with other people over the years and was in ok shape when we started. The change in my body and strength has been amazing! Evan designs each workout for my particular goal whether that be "beach muscles" and a tight core for the summer or overall strength and endurance training to balance everything out.
I can't imagine training with anyone else. He keeps me motivated and I really look forward to each workout.

My 16 year old son has been working with Evan for about 3 months now and we have seen great improvements. My son's goals are to play baseball in college and Evan has tailored his workout program to this goal.
When we started, my son would need modifications on a lot of the exercises but as of now those are few and far between. But more than that, my son really looks forward to working out with him, which is something that had been missing in his training.

I've been working with Evan for 4 months and am seeing great results from his guidance. My core strength has improved a lot and each month, my lift weight increases. He is creative with the exercises he gives me and pushes me to the limit. I gave him my goals when I first started with him and he created a workout program for us to do in the gym, as well as, work outs I can do out of the gym. We've also met outside of the gym a couple of times to run stairs....a lot of stairs.
He is flexible with his appointments for whenever I need to change due to work and/or other obligations.
There isn't a lack of motivation from Evan either. He texts and calls me to check up on my progress and to ask whether or not I've had a Dr. Pepper that day (I'm still working on that).
