Solid gym. Not too corporatey like other places.
They have dumb bells, free weights, lifting machines, a theatre room with cardio machines, a punching bag, sauna, and aerobics room. Their treadmills could probably be updated but nothing worth crying about. I get what needs to be done DONE.
Note: Grace is the staff member that did my tour and she’s a super dope chick. Polite, and very well organized. Would give her an A plus as far as setting the tone for my first impression of the place.

Horrific.

They have a 30 day cancellation notice policy. If you want to cancel, they forcibly, and unjustifiably take your payment for an additional month. Had the employee on the phone been a bit less brazen I certainly wouldn’t be as upset as I am now.

There are no services rendered prior to payment, and nothing that needs to be prepared for your individual membership. An absolute money grab. Disgusting.

I have been attending Fitness 1440 Gym for over a year now and I have been very impressed by all that it has to offer. The staff is friendly and caring, the gym offers so many individual muscle workout machines and their training staff is very good. I also want to give a couple of shout-outs.

First, to Travis and Jen, the owners of the gym. They do a great job in making sure the gym is a safe and fulfilling gym experience. Travis is around most days, not only speaking and getting to know the gym members, but also working out as well. He is a great workout example to emulate!

The second shout-out is to my trainer, Jonathan Griffen. During my year of working with him, he took a 62 year old person that was not in good shape and slowly got me to a place of strength and confidence in my abilities to become physically healthy. Jonathan knows how the body works so he could provide knowledgeable insight in to which exercises would be best for me. I still have some work to do, but thanks to Jonathan and Fitness 1440 Gym, I am well on my way to being a healthy and fit person.

Update: When I returned to the gym my membership was "terminated" despite paying the full past due balance & the current month. It was resolved quickly but it is another example of their payment & membership systems issues.

This is a good gym and there's good people that work out & work here. But...

A warning about their policy. I think because the brand is small themselves that it is easy to forget this is a franchise just like Planet Fitness or 24h fitness and have similarly bad policies around payment.

Long story short, I had some life & medical issues come up & fell back to an at home gym setup. Also at the same time I got a new card after some fraud. I did not update the card on my account and assumed that since no payment went through that my account would be frozen until that month is paid & I reactivate my account.

Instead I was surprised by a bill for multiple months of membership that they charged me for despite already removing access to the gym. So now in order to reactivate my membership I needed to pay the full amount for membership I did not have access to.

I understand being charged even if I don't use the membership but to be charged every month for a membership that was past due & I did not have access to is unreasonable. The membership should have been frozen until payment was made like every other subscription service. I would even be okay paying a singular late fee on top of the past due month's fee, that is reasonable.

I looked back to see notices sent and found that they were using robo calls & automated emails under a different name than Fitness 1440 that made it appear to be phishing scams, so I ignored them.

I do like this gym & a lot of the people in it but I do not agree with their payment policies. Despite my disagreement I will continue to go to this gym because it is still a good gym overall & the alternatives aren't really comparable.

I hope moving forward their payment policies & escalation systems improve to be less like the gyms myself & many others are trying to get away from.

I love to take SWEAT class with Kris Ellich, she is the BEST instructor. She had helped me with my selfteem, confidence and to achieve my goals. I recommend her to anyone who is struggling with getting to where they want to be physically or just needs that push to achieve their fitness goals. Forever thankful for her guidance!!!

The staff is very kind and greets you as you enter and wishes you well on your way out. They are very helpful and make sure you have what you need. They don't harass you to purchase additional things, you actually need to approach them about that. The only reason I don't give 5 stars is because they are extremely busy and at times you are waiting for someone to finish up but they are just playing on their phone or just hanging out with friends at the machine. I know this is likely due to the fact this is the closest gym in our small town.

I feel so happy that there is this gym close to my home! The facility is clean! Staff are always welcome; machines are in a good shape, the staff provides at the entry clean towels and spray products to clean the machines that we are using, there are good TVs; also, the Zumba lady Stacy is amazing 💖 she does another good training class after her Zumba classes , always keeping an eye on how we are doing the movement to make sure we are doing it right! She is friendly, we love her! Please keep the good job! Your guys ROCK!

The only thing that could make this gym more perfect is if it had a pool. The atmosphere is chill, a ton of class options and it's a lot bigger inside than I initially thought. People of all ages and fitness levels with secured access 24/7. I love it when the late night gal works because the disinfectant spray and towels are always fully stocked and she's so welcoming.

I was having such a bad day, and then I met the sweetest employee Hannah at the front desk. She bent over backwards to make sure I had a good experience. She answered all of my questions and was super patient. We bought at training package with Tommie and she is so knowledgeable and specializes in the things my daughter needs for her dance career. I like that it’s 24 hr access and the crowd is mellow and friendly. Customer service today was lacking: there was no one at the desk and had to call the business number to get someone to help me find a machine they had moved. When I couldn't initially find asked the staff a couple times to please show me, they didn’t want to, just kept trying to explain me the location. I did find the equipment but was left feeling like I was less important than whatever they were doing.

Will not recommend. They will send you to collections without a written notice and state that they tried reaching out with phone calls and texts. The phone calls are robo calls that ask if you want to become a member. My husband and I work graveyard so we arent awake during business hours to see what the calls were all about, just seemed like scam calls.

They did not mail us a single statement, they did not email us once using the name 1440 fitness (which makes me believe they use a different name to trick their customers when looking for these so-called email attempts to reach out) They did not try to send us a text message heads-up that they are taking us to collections, the text we received was stating our payment method did not go through and to call to update. We would have had NO problem paying for the sub $200 bill.

We had fraud happen to our bank account and had all of our cards canceled. Like any normal business, most monthly memberships come from your bank account #, not your card# so a gym membership was at the back of our mind (like any normal person in that situation)

The gym membership is heavily overpriced for a small gym. Because of the 24/7 access you will have to fight for equipment from kids who dont have memberships but get in because their buddies have an key card to access the gym.

The equipment is outdated. They keep buying "upgraded" equipment that never get used because they are cheap and not what members want. They never ask members what equipment they would like to see. Staff would vacuum and clean during busy times of the day which made it hard to navigate the equipment when trying to workout in a hotel-sized gym.

Their only "wow" factor (if you can call it that) is the tanning beds, but thats an extra monthly premium. Other than that, they charge the same price as commercial gyms that offer a plethora of more facilities and services.

1440 isnt a single owned one off gym, they are a franchise. And for a franchise they should accommodate their members better with a system in place to ensure their customers get a heads up for situations like this. Not push them away by sending them straight to collections without warning. We were considering restarting our membership (when we thought it was only canceled due to no payment and inactivity) but will no longer consider. Will also not recommend.

Unfortunately, I do not have a great review to leave. Cancelling my membership strictly due to the front desk staff minus Stacy she is great, Owner Travis is fantastic but I kid you not everyone else at that front desk is literally the rudest staff I have ever encountered on a daily basis and I do mean all of them and it seems to be a constant problem with this gym. The short dark haired girl (Tommie) terrible attitude and the blonde haired one equally as rude and its extremely off putting. The one man that is up there could due with some customer service training as well. I don't expect the staff to be my best friend every time I walk in but to have no interaction what so ever not even a have a good day or have a good workout is a bit ridiculous they could definitely do better. If your not a people person work somewere else

I love how clean it is.
I also love that it is open 24 hours.
They offer a wide variety of classes, red light therapy and a wonderful sauna.

The 1440 gym in Forest Grove is a premium facility if your looking to workout. Weights, cardio, specialty rooms, tanning for 5 bucks a month. For the price it's literally the best place. The staff hands down are the coolest bunch of college kids and amped up trainers and Travis/Jen the owners are people I have come to know and consider friends. It's a positive place with lots of tools to achieve your fitness goals, and although I'm on a 9-5 schedule, I'm just tickled I have a keycard to get in anytime. No I'm not a paid advertisement, just giving credit where credit is due.

The staff here is extremely accommodating and the gym is very well equipped. They make it a point to clean everything everyday and also provide towels and spray bottles to members to clean the equipment themselves. Overall this gym is pretty good untill today, so I got my membership last Saturday and I asked the young lady how much was it to add on a guest to my membership, and it was an additional 10 dollars , and I was fine with it .
$25 for me and $10 for my guest , $35 for each month but............when I came in today the gentleman at the front desk charged me $8 for a day pass for my guest
So I would like to know if there's any way to get a refund because there's no way I'm paying for a day pass everyday if I'm already getting charged an additional 10 dollars.

It you want to go to the gym in town you only have two choices. This place is a great choice. The cost is pretty reasonable and the crowd is pretty laid back. Lots of "normal" people trying to keep or get in shape. I have gone here for two years. Sometimes there is a wait for a machine or a bench, but most of the time there is enough space. I have been after work and it is pretty busy. My favorite part is going on a holiday at 9am and seeing the other wee hours of the morning folk there as well. We all like to sleep in.

I love this little gym. The atmosphere is relaxed, welcoming and doesn’t feel intimidating at all. It is a good place to get the job done without being too flashy, which is how I think the best workouts take place! My husband who does not enjoy the gym scene, enjoyed this gym. I really enjoyed the yoga classes taught by Tabor. He is a quality instructor who is knowledgeable and friendly. The classes are structured to meet the needs of a wide audience, give you a good workout, all while still enjoying the benefits of yoga. I would highly recommend a class with him at 1440!

I live in Forest Grove and it is conveniently located. I haven't had any issues with billing as some have suggested and have an active membership for almost 2 years now. The Gym is clean and everyone is friendly and helpful. Yes there are a lot of students there but that is because Forest Grove home to Pacific University. If you live in the area it would be worth your time to come check the place out. I assigned 4 stars because nobody is perfect! :)

If i could put 0 stars i would, this place lures you in, and charges your credit card once a month. Thats fine, but when you cancel your membership they continue to charge you. When you call and try to resolve it they conveniently "lost" the cancellation papers and try to make a deal with you to pay a little less, even though you havn't gone back since the cancellation. This place is nothing more than an oversized high school style gym & weight class. Don't waste your money here. I paid a start up cost, then three weeks later, got hit with their yearly gym maintenance fee. Week after that was my second month dues. They stick you with a contract, and send you to collections when you realize you are paying the same as you would for a better quality gym. (Most gyms are getting away from contracts) The only person I could see going to this place is a college student without a car. This gym is a part of a chain, not mom and pop, so you might as well pay to go to a chain that is a better value.

Great Gym. From the staff greeting to the professional, relaxed atmosphere. Personal trainers are available to demystify the free weights and learn the machines. I hired a personal trainer to help me learn how to help myself! Lots of variety from dance exercise classes, yoga and senior tone and stretch. Great way to start my New Year!
