I’m new in town and just dropped in to see if this was a gym I wanted to go. The rep I spoke to was super nice and professional, but the gym’s contract is confusing and has too many loop holes. And it looks like canceling the membership is going to be a pain if I sign up. Anyways it kinda scared me away and I’ll be looking elsewhere. It’s a shame because it looks like a good gym to go to.

I visited here today with some friends as a drop-in from out of town. I googled gyms in the area and this one looked like the best so we gave it a shot. The staff was super nice! Brett gave us a tour, and he and the other woman were helpful during the whole visit. There was a good selection of equipment - free weights, machines, variety of cardio equipment, and even a separate area with turf and functional training equipment. I met a few other locals that were really nice, and the gym had an overall good vibe. I finished my workout by hitting up the sauna which was awesome. Overall 5 stars. Will visit again next time im in town.

I’ve never dealt with a more disingenuous establishment in my entire life. I’ve never made a review for any business online but this one warrants a one. I tried this gym for a 7 day free trial several years ago and that was the best I can say as far as what they offer. When I went to sign up for a membership I was only offered a biweekly payment plan of 25$ for AT LEAST AN entire year. That was the plan I was offered and that was initially available. I was only In town for the summer so I didn’t want to commit for a whole year. I said this to the person working the front desk, and with enough questioning they eventually said they could offer me a 3 month pass for 75$ a month. I fully understand that they offer better deals with longer commitments like many businesses would so I agreed to the terms and payed the 3 months up front. I never got charged for any future fees. The real problem arose when I spoke to my partner. She signed up for the initial agreement of a one year commitment and eventually wanted to cancel her subscription after 1.5 years. They claim that they don’t deal with payments through their business directly so they referred her to their organization that processes the payments. This was 4 years before I met my partner. Just a few weeks ago she told me that she still gets charged 50$ a month from this gym that she has not been to in almost 4 years amounting to around 2500$ in what is essentially donations. I was incredibly confused. She told me that every time she tried the cancel they referred her to a phone number to cancel. The number consisted of an automated robot that said they couldn’t find her account information. And like the non-confrontation person she is, she just accepted it. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. I asked her why she didn’t cancel the debit card they charged and she told me that they send people to collections if payments are not met, which happened to several of her peers. Nevertheless, with enough determination (And pain in the ass phone calls) we were able to cancel her subscription. I know this is a long review but I’ve never dealt with a business that needed one until now. Like the fool I Am, 1 year after my summer plan, I came back to the gym and wanted the same plan I had gotten the year before (Only because my workout partner insisted on this gym because he lives right next to it). I immediately asked for this at the front desk and wanted to pay for the three months in cash so they didn’t need my card on file. They said they only needed a card on file for the yearly maintenance fee which was 35$. I still have no idea what this means because a gym membership should include maintenance fees in the monthly payments. As I talked to the person at the front desk about paying for this yearly fee they ensured to me that i would only be charged that one time. I didn’t believe them but put my signature on the forms anyway because at the card reader machine they only have a line for a signature and not the document itself. Exactly one month later I was charged another 35$ and now I am writing this review. DO NOT GO TO THIS GYM. They will scam you. Like I said at the start, I’ve never written a review before but they are seriously scammers. Unless you have no problem with a lifetime agreement and mediocre equipment, then by all means signup at this gym

Please find a way to fix how hot this gym gets. This has been an issue for at least a few years. A gym should be between 65°-68°, and ours is never that cool. The number of times that the thermostats read 75 or higher is way too often. It is almost 1am right now, and the women's reads 78, men's reads 80, and the main gym reads 75. For all of us spending $50 plus a month a piece, this should be the next priority. It sucks when I can't finish a regular workout because it's too hot.
This place deserves 5 stars if the temperatures get fixed.

Very unprofessional. Every time I call nobody answers and I'm told by a robot that the voice mailbox is full. Plus when I paid for a membership a few years ago they told me I wasn't allowed to cancel it unless I moved over 25 miles away from their location, (keep in mind Cannon Beach is 23 miles from their location) and I was not informed of this clause when I signed up. I am a mentally disabled person on disability income I informed them that I would not be able to pay the membership (I signed up through a promotion that promised a $50 membership was not informed that the $50 membership was a weekly fee I had to pay not monthly like my income) they said too bad they're going to keep charging my card and then if they can't do that they're going to send it to collections. And I said good luck with that because I'm on disability income they can not get a single dime through collections.

My current gym, small town gym but you know what i have no complaints other than i wish they had a lying hamstring curl machine and just grease the cable machines. Other than that its very clean well staffed with plenty of weights and equipment. Has a lovely few of the river and you can access the walking trail. The staff is also always very friendly and attentive to patrons and regularly clean the facilities. 🤘🏼💪🏼 will continue to be a happy patron.

I recently completed the seven-day trial, and I must say, the employees are exceptional. Each one brings a unique approach to their work. The cleaning staff deserves special mention; they maintain, even after hours still fills clean, which is impressive given that the gym operates 24/7. Furthermore, I have observed that the gym members are courteous and respectful, consistently putting away weights after use and being considerate of others during their workouts. If you're seeking a gym that delivers results and a solo workout experience, I highly recommend considering this facility.

We tried calling several times with no answer during business hours and got a voicemail that said it's full. We came in to use the gym for the first time, after signing up for a 7 day trail, drove 40 minutes to check it out only to be greeted by a staff member who told us they already shut off their computer 15 minutes ago and had no way to turn it back on because it would be too much for them to do in ten minutes. We arrived at 350, they apparently have staff available until four. But the amount of time it took for them to tell us they didn't have time to get us signed up took at least 15 minutes, why not just do the work? Rolling towels was more important apparently. Not impressed. We asked why they weren't answering their phone all day, they had no idea. Maybe getting off your personal cell phone would have made time management easier. We probably won't return. We were looking to be members and will find another gym.

This place is nice cuz its 24/7 but they tend to not care about the morning people. Ppl come at 4 and 5am *earlier obviously as well however they don't even have the sauna warm by 530am! (*edit half the year we get the sauna early cuz time changes, the other half theyre to lazy to fix the timer like they used to) They also don't leave towels for the morning customers. It's as if they think we don't pay for the services if it's early. I've messaged them on Facebook and called but they just don't seem to care. The girls in the morning are all frustrated cuz now the one thing that people could turn the sauna on with at the early hours is locked. We've been discussing moving to the gym in astoria, cheaper, more glute machines and hey, the sauna is on. Doesnt seem like we are asking much from the gym. Towels for sweat and a warm sauna.

For about a month they had a great guy cleaning in the morning doing these things and he was a breath of fresh air. Welcoming and very respectful. They apparently got rid of him, now we've got a lady who basically vacumes under your feet and about 3-4 ppl sitting on their phones during the day doing nothing.

I would give zero stars if possible. The contract I signed states that if I move more than 25 miles from the gym, I am only responsibile for 50% of the remaining payments. However, when I reached out to cancel, I was told I owed the full amount. In addition, I was advised they would also be collecting a $50 cancellation fee. The cancellation fee is not listed in the contract. They were unable to show me where it was listed.
Ultimately, I paid the fees because I do not want this reported against my credit. But I would NEVER join a gym associated with this company again.

The gym is adequate for the area, with plenty of equipment. However, the staff has gone downhill very rapidly. After the recent change in management (which now seems nonexistent) the desk is filled with a young crowd, most of which spend the entire time talking or on their phone instead of working. I was literally told by a worker that "towels are no longer being washed or provided" and then 20 minutes later watched another employee take a load out of the dryer to fold. If you are too interested in your phone to get up and grab towels, just say so not lie about it. Rude customer service will force many patrons to other gyms.

I come early in the morning at 4:30 and when I'm done with my workout around 5:30 the suana is never on. I used to have to manually turn it on which is frustrating when i forget, but now the thing is locked so even though I pay for the suana I no longer get acsess to it. There was also no towel for anyone in the mornings. I shouldn't be paying so much for a gym that can't take care of its customers. I was never informed that these things that I pay for wouldn't be accsesable. They should have somthing stating that the suana and towels are only available with in a sertant time frame when you buy your package. People who don't go within that time should have the courtesy of knowing its not worth their money to be buying these "luxury's".

Gym is okay, the disconnection of the people running it absolutely terrible. I moved and wanted to cancel my membership only to find out it was almost impossible to do so. They basically trap you in and send you to an absurd customer service line that will only cancel your membership if you have a “health issue”. I thought gyms were about growth and community? Broken equipment, no air conditioning or airflow, they limited sauna use (so no sauna for the late gym goers) and no amenities. For $50.00 a month I don’t see much changes.

The staff needs to be more aware of all the cleaning they could do, i mean the lockers aren’t at all clean, and they should really try to manage their facility better.

For all its worth, if you can afford it and risk the injury, do it. But as a current member, it’s a membership of convenience. Should’ve signed up for Element26 instead.

This gym offers new and clean gym equipment, all of which is kept at a high standard by the staff. I have met Robin, Wyatt, and Haley (I'm hoping I spelled that right), each of whom are very friendly, reliable, and diligent workers. Fitness 1440 is the first gym I've ever been to where I found myself actually enjoying the smell; they maintain an impressively high standard here. Furthermore, the sauna is wonderful, and their assorted juices and shakes taste incredible.

By all means the best gym for the area.... but be aware they have a really sketchy/aggressive cancelation process should you need to i.e weird hoops to jump through and will money grab you during the process with more fees. I messaged about an inquiry for what the prices would be. Got a call back saying nothing about the prices, but an invitation to go to the gym. I figured it's not worth it. I have been getting repeated scam calls for over a month now from this gym. Nearly once or twice a week on either the same number or other phone numbers. I blocked these numbers, but they won't stop calling and texting me about coming in to visit the gym. One voicemail, told me to callback to get off the call list. I blocked them for them to get the clue.

Great facility, open 24 hours, nice locker rooms, however the management is below average in their capabilities, and no matter how many times I go into the gym to fix my billing information, I'm always getting spam calls and automated texts stating my information is wrong. Happened multiple times on multiple occasions, when I talked to the manager about it he simply stated, "That's not our problem." Works on a contract, so if you want a membership here make sure you're okay with commiting 12 months worth of membership to them, and if you want to cancel you have to pay the remaining fee. Looks like an amazing gym on the outside, but a lot of mess ups on the inside.

This fitness center has a large variety of exercise equipment, free weights, area for stretching, 24 hour access through an app on your phone, attendants are friendly and keep the place orderly and clean. Treadmills, exercise bikes, stair steppers, rowing machines, and universal weight machines are here. Dressing rooms, with lockers, tanning beds, and single user bathrooms are here. Parking is convenient and large windows and mirrors help create a nice room.

BEWARE! Customer service is through a GMAIL account to avoid accountability. Rampant with maintenance fees and missuse of personal credit card info. The man behind the counter is the same person that answers the emails.
I asked to suspend my account. Instead he waited until my month was over and a lovely 49$ maintenance fee was added. Just to find out my account was never suspended atol.

I travel between Astoria and Bend a lot. I chose 1440 because they have locations in both towns. The door at the Warrenton location won't unlock and I have no place to workout or shower. Overall, I'm pretty disappointed with the 1440 chain.

This gym is VERY run down. The equipment is old and doesn't work half the time. They don't take pride in the cleanliness or painting of this gym. It's like no money goes into upkeep at all. Lockers are just old cabinets. The keypad on the door for after hours doesn't work well and they don't seem to be in any big hurry to fix it(just like everything else!) Some of the instructors aren't very helpful in the classes. It's like because they are the only ones around right now they think it's okay to let things go. I'm looking forward to a new gym coming to this area with all this building going on because this gym has seen why too much use and not nearly enough upkeep. It's very sad.
