I have been working out at Fluid Strength for about 2 years now - my body moves better, I am strong and a number of "aches and pains" have disappeared. I work with both Tash and Rivers and they are excellent coaches who really know their stuff! Classes are small in size and the workouts can always be customized/modified as your needs change. I cannot recommend this company enough.

Fluid Strength offers something no one else in Central Oregon does. There are plenty of gyms who can program strength and conditioning workouts in group settings, but the coaches' approach here is personalized, backed by a deep knowledge of movement science, and above all else, safe. After 10 years of going to other group strength classes, this is the first time I have had the opportunity to communicate at length with my coaches about what safe and proper movement should feel like and how to achieve that given my current fitness level. I have moved out of repetitive cycles of injury, am stronger than I have ever been, and am no longer holding onto some idea that my body wasn't made for heavy strength work. And I have learned SO MUCH that had never been explained or shown to me at numerous other gyms! These coaches care SO MUCH about the progress of each member and celebrate our wins just as much as we do. I am so grateful to their commitment to helping us all achieve our goals. It has helped me be a better, and stronger, human!

Fluid Strength has truly been a game-changer for me. The progress I've made is incredible, and I owe it all to the expertise and guidance of Tash, the owner. She’s incredibly knowledgeable, always providing personalized advice and making sure I’m on the right track. Her staff is equally impressive—professional, supportive, and always willing to go the extra mile. If you're looking for a place that combines top-tier training with a welcoming atmosphere, Fluid Strength is the place to be. I’m stronger and more confident than I’ve been in years, and I can't recommend it enough!

As a physical therapist and someone navigating my own journey with chronic pain and injuries due to hypermobility, finding a gym with sound programming has always been a challenge. I’m very picky about the gyms I choose for myself and the ones I trust to refer people to, and Fluid Strength has absolutely earned that trust.

The Strength for Longevity classes are incredible—I’ve been pushed in my form in ways that feel both challenging and safe, and I love the emphasis on focused breathing. The small class sizes and individualized attention make a huge difference, allowing for real progress while still keeping things adaptable. The training blocks strike the perfect balance—consistent enough to build skills and see real improvement, but with enough variety to keep things engaging.

Beyond the workouts, the community is what makes this place truly special. The diversity of ages and backgrounds creates an inclusive, welcoming environment where everyone feels supported. Tash and Rivers bring such great energy, and I’m so excited to keep learning and growing with them. If you're looking for a gym that prioritizes smart, thoughtful programming in a fun and inclusive space, Fluid Strength is it!

This is the only "exercise" thing I've stuck with for any significant length of time and it's because it's not just exercise. It's functional strength training and safe lifting and self-confidence creating and body care-ing.

If you're looking to throw weights around and grunt loudly and slam (drop) barbells on the ground for the sound effects, this isn't the place for you. But if you're looking for a place where you can train safely, in community, with coaches who adore what they do, you should come join us.

Tash has a great gym. Very effective program. Tanner and Rivers are also great coaches. It's just a very inviting community that they have developed. I have met with Tash in the gym and she has helped me a lot when I switched to the online training.

Love everything about this gym! The group classes are my favorite! If you are looking for a new and challenging workout program, you need to check out Fluid Strength! The group classes only allow up to 8 people which allows for the instructor to give personalized feedback throughout the class! And all the instructors are amazing! Environment is incredibly welcoming... all sizes, shapes, and ages here! Give it a try, you will not regret it!

My 14 year old is taking their ‘strength training 101 for teens’. This is his first time working out in an official gym space, and so far after two classes it is a success! Tanner is engaging, energetic, and whatever he’s doing… it’s working! :) My other kid wants to join now too.
I also love that they train barefoot to build foot strength. Such a benefit. Glad I found Fluid Strength!

Updating my review:
Another year has passed and I continue to make steady progress under the guidance of these amazing coaches. My left shoulder continues to improve, I feel stronger than I’ve ever felt in my upper body and hips. And when I’ve needed to travel for an extended period, I was able to continue my weekly training via their online coaching program. Still the best strength coaches in town hands down!

Past review:
I can’t say enough good things about the training and support I have received from Tash and Tanner at Fluid Strength. I started a regular consistent program with them last summer and in less than a year I have experienced so much progress! I have received help rehabilitating an old shoulder injury and can now press 10 kg over head - wild! I’ve also learned a ton of new functional movement patterns that have helped me strengthen my entire body. I am grateful for this team and all the support they have given me! Do yourself a favor and book a session with them today.

Are you tired of living in chronic pain? Time to go to Fluid Strength! After several years of horrific back pain from snowboarding I had accepted the fact that my body would never feel the same and I would have to learn to "live with the pain." Working with Tash and Tanner has been an absolute game changer. I now feel like I am finally able to get back to doing the things I love and living my life again. Fluid Strength has an amazing camaraderie within the gym and I look forward to going every week. I can't recommend this place enough!

I really don’t know where to start! Tash and Tanner created an amazing, fun and safe gym space with intentional movement that leaves you feeing confident, energized and strong AF! I am 9 months postpartum with my second child and have been strength training with the Fluid Strength coaches since I was 3 months postpartum. I had pretty bad abdominal separation and my PT gave me the green light to train with Tash because she is so educated and will cater the training to your needs so you never leave in pain! There are a million positive things I could say about FS and the community that is there! But I will leave it at I have never committed to a gym that I can truly say I look forward to going each week! 🥰💪🏽

I can’t recommend Fluid Strength enough! I've always been scared of strength training due to previous injuries and general back pain. Working with Fluid Strength has made me more self-assured in my ability, and as a result I feel so much stronger and confident moving through my life! The coaches have truly created a welcoming space that meets people where they’re at. Not only that, but the gym has become such an empowering and meaningful community for me. It’s a bright spot in my day/week!

Fluid Strength is more than a gym. It is an incredible place to train one’s body, discipline one’s mind, set new goals, learn new skills, and play!

Tash Anderson, the owner of Fluid Strength, is well-organized, clean, timely, responsive to inquiries, forward-thinking, innovative, and utilizes her small space well. Her programming for progressive strength gains is second-to-none! She programs each group session into purposeful blocks. In her Strength for Longevity (SFL) classes, she first programs a prime and mobilize section with a warm-up that targets the actual muscles we will be using and skills we will be practicing. It feels nothing like gyms that have clients just move around mindlessly and randomly to warm up; there is a reason “why” we practice every movement. We continuously learn new skills while playing in PE fashion with floor ladders, obstacle courses, plastic steps, Kali sticks, maces, gymnastic rings, Indian clubs, bands, Yoga blocks, medicine balls, sandbags, gliders, sleds, orange cones, dice… We balance, activate muscle groups, and practice Original Strength movements such as head nodding, rocking, rolling, crawling, and diaphragmatic breathing. The movements are woven with physical therapy elements but are so much more fun in this setting. The activities are restorative and help us become more supple. During section two of Tash’s programming for SFL classes, we build strength and learn with Kettlebells and Barbells in the style of the StrongFirst methodology. Between every strength exercise, we perform intentional resets. We finish in training segment three of SFL with a burst of conditioning or fun Kettlebell sequences.

Tanner Brown, my primary trainer, is phenomenal! I’ve never met a more intuitive trainer who has the energy, care, knowledge, and perception to help people progress and master movements. He is so skilled at customizing movements that every small group class still feels personalized to meet the needs of every individual in the room. He quickly analyzes what would help a person improve during each movement, whether it is timing, speed (“Slow is smooth, smooth is fast”), sequencing, body positioning, muscle engagement, form, hand grip, and breathwork (timing and length of inhales and exhales). He conveys his insights and information in a clear and logical way, coaching us with lively, hands-on demonstrations we can imitate. Tanner is incredibly thorough and breaks down every step of complex movements (such as Turkish get-ups) until each portion becomes attainable, and the mind-body patterning becomes instilled in us. Tanner knows just when to push a person to dig in and work harder and when to instruct someone to go lighter, slower, take a rest, reset, or take a few slow deep nasal breaths. Tanner’s wealth of knowledge, understanding of movement, continuous quest to better himself and others, and dedication to this field ensures we learn something new every class. He patiently answers every question (and I’ve asked him about 975 of them). As an adult out of the school classroom setting, it is difficult to find people who make me better and give constructive criticism; Tanner does both well. And even though we work hard mentally and physically while dripping sweat, through his sense of humor, playful approach and fun spirit, Tanner ensures we always enjoy the work we are doing at Fluid Strength. As he says, “If we aren’t having fun, what are we doing?!”

Every facet of Tash and Tanner’s conscious training approach transfers into everyday living and hobbies. We vary movements as we pull, push/ press, carry, hinge, squat, lunge, and crawl. Gripping heavy grocery bags, carrying garden bulk potting mixes, putting overhead luggage into airplane bins, mountain biking, skiing, backpacking, climbing, scrambling up rocks, paddle boarding, moving heavy pieces of furniture, carrying kids, and nearly all daily movements have a correlation to what we practice at Fluid Strength. I am so grateful to my favorite coaches, Tash and Tanner, for this extraordinary experience they crafted!

Tash and Tanner are two of the best trainers I've ever known! Their level of knowledge, ability to communicate detailed instruction, and their correction of form is impeccable. The classes are the perfect size for individualized attention at any level, and the workout structure is carefully thought out. Fluid Strength is more than just a "gym", it is community with incredible people who motivate and support each other and THAT is the icing on the cake. Thank you Tash and Tanner (and the community of FS)! You've helped me to feel stronger, wiser, and more confident in my daily life. I look forward to both the work out and to see my "friends" there who keep me accountable!

The community, the coaches, and the workouts at Fluid Strength are truly life changing. I started taking classes when I lived in Bend and then moved to Redmond. I cancelled my membership, thinking I'd find something closer to home. After just a few months, I was back going to Fluid Strength at least twice a week. It's such a different environment than other gyms and the programming is so wonderfully planned. I feel myself getting stronger, more mobile, more confident, and having so much fun while working out.

I have been working out with Tash and Tanner at Fluid Strength for 6 months now and have absolutely loved it. I have enjoyed the personalized approach in the Strength for Longevity classes. And I have improved multiple strength movements, especially the ones that previously hurt my lower back after a herniated disc a couple of years ago. They really focus on correct movement patterns for long term strength and mobility, which is my goal. These classes complement my trail running, mountain biking, and snowboarding so I can enjoy all Bend has to offer.

Tash and Tanner are the real deal! If you want to improve strength, mobility and have fun, Fluid Strength rocks.

I started working out here because I was stuck in a cycle, that cycle was that the more I workout, the more my hips hurt.

As a lifelong fitness enthusiast, eventually, things like sciatica, psoas and etc muscles get shortened and tight, the pain is real and I'm some people reading this know what I mean!

Anyhow, after now more than a year, I'm very pain free and have improved my strength in many important movements, squats, cleans, dead lifts, turkish getups, sled drags, farmer carries etc. I can confidently (an d repeatedly) clean a 24kg kettle bell and can do clean doubles in the 16-20kg range, big improvements from where I was at.

Tash & Tanner brim with passion for fitness and know how to give useful feedback, the monthly sequenced programs feel like genius, you will grow, have fun and time will just pass, a textbook example of the "Flow" state.

My wife recently had a baby and has now started private session with Tash, needless to say I recommend Fluid Strength for anyone serious about strength and fun.

Sometimes smaller is better. I found Fluid Strength as I was searching for a trainer who would help my old, stiff body regain some mobility, as years of sedentary lifestyle had left me prone to injury. Coach Tash and Coach Tanner are exactly what I needed. The training is extremely personalized and tailored to your personal needs. They sincerely want you to be healthier and want to get you there without injury. Training with Tash and Tanner is like going to your physical therapist (except they’re much more encouraging), with very advanced mobility and strength training inspired by the Original Strength Institute and StrongFirst. The gym itself is quite small and group classes are often just a few people, so you get very in-depth coaching to make sure your form is correct (important with heavy kettlebells), you stay injury free, and are getting the most out of your workout. I’m already seeing progress after only a couple of months and look forward to improving my strength and exercise habits in the years to come.

As a retired collegiate athlete, the whole "no pain, no gain" approach has been drilled into me for as long as I can remember. Now as an adult and no longer a competitive athlete, I realize that certain "pains" from that type of training have stuck with my body. At Fluid Strength the whole mentality and coaching is focused on becoming "stronger, smarter". This is the type of training that EVERYONE should be doing! I feel stronger even after a few weeks of training. Overall, great studio gym atmosphere & the coaches are supa fun too!

Since Tash is a certified StrongFirst coach, she teaches with the goal of building foundational strength that you can use anywhere! The strength we build in the gym is something I feel not only when I am purposefully engaging in physical activity, but also with everyday movements - helping my family collect wood for the winter, lifting a mountain bike in and out of a truck bed, or even simply carrying groceries from my car to the house. This approach to training has made me stronger than I have ever been, shifted my beliefs on the strategies behind building strength, and has made me reconsider how I take care of my body for the long haul.

On top of her training techniques, Tash is warm and welcoming to everyone she coaches. As someone who never strength trained prior, it was so easy to learn from Tash and communicate my goals. She is excited to learn about what you need, try new things, and have fun in the process!
