At this fabulously no-frills studio there are regulars who's practicing for 5, 10, and 20+ years(this is my 8th year). At previous yoga studios I've been to, I had never seen both male and female elders who are so dedicated, flexible and strong. The full body stretch exercise has fixed my frozen shoulders, ancient ankle problems, sciatica, post-delivery problem, etc, etc. I try to go there before my work and feel ready for the day. Thanks to the amazingly stable heating system, the practice seems not to fail without good sweating. I occasionally think of the words, "Being comfortable being uncomfortable (to embrace difficult situations)". Thanks, Elizabeth❤️

Very traditional bare bones yoga place, none of the candles/music/ decorations/ flavored water you see in many places.
I think traditional is best and am giving 5 stars, but not for everyone

Their new studio is beautiful. The lights on the ceiling are well thought out- they don’t glare when in poses that require looking at the ceiling. The instructors are so warm and caring. There is a lot of heart in this Heart of the Valley hot yoga studio

I found this studio at a very low point in my early 20’s and I believe this studio helped save my life! Though I haven’t been able to attend much the past couple years Because I moved out of the area, I’m back! I’m so excited to join this studio again! Ive never felt anything besides love from the hot room, the owner Elizabeth & the other yogis. Thankful for the space this studio holds for everyone.

I've been practicing Bikram Yoga since 2014. It's changed my life. Here's what I've gotten from this studio. 1-My health back. Health issues disappeared (bad back and knee problems) and I dropped 20 pounds. 2-Focus. Something happens to you on a deeper level when you show up day-after-day. The benefits from the focus have spilled into many areas of my life. 3-Community. Each of the instructors has a unique teaching style and they care about the students. I think it's important to judge a studio by the moral fiber of the people. Just as you cannot judge an entire family by one member. The type of yoga, "Bikram" has nothing to do with one bad actor. The yoga practice isn't easy but the rewards are huge.

This Hatha yoga in a hot room has healed my body and heart. The poses are therapy for mind, heart and body and this is backed by science. The teachers are kind, motivating and inspirational. You can't afford not too invest in this type of authentic yoga practice!

I love this studio. This studio has actually been a huge part of my life, even though I haven't always had the time to attend, I can not talk enough about how much better I feel when I'm attending these classes. The instructors are so helpful and encouraging and inclusive for each individual that attends. It is a tough work out, but it is literally life changing for both physical and mental health. I saw someone wrote a bad review because of smell, I have been attending the classes on and off for years and have never encountered the smell shes describing. I actually know for a fact the carpets get cleaned regularly because one of my friends used to do it.

Best Bikram Yoga place I have been so far!
The teachers are really friendly and their instructions are easy to follow, also for new people. The studio is very clean and inviting, and the yoga atmosphere was great.

The Yoga itself is a great workout, and was inspiring for my body and soul. I felt great after i left the place.

I love this studio! It's truly a great community of people. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. The yoga room has been remodeled with new carpet, additional lights, and a new air flow system that circulates fresh air during class. Their heater rocks, but it's not "dragon fire" hot like some places. It's just hot enough to get your attention, which is perfect in my opinion.

I've been practicing Bikram Yoga for 10 years, and have tried out a lot of studios. The Corvallis studio stands out because of their commitment to teaching PURE Bikram Yoga. (You won't find any watered down, shortened, or altered classes here!) This studio is great for beginners. If you're new to yoga, or have injuries or issues, this is the place to come. A regular Bikram Yoga practice WILL help to fix whatever is ailing you. Don't believe me? Try it for 60 days. You'll feel amazing!

p.s. There is "method to the madness" when it comes to the teaching style of Bikram Yoga. It's different from any other yoga class on the planet. And that's exactly why it works. So stick with it!

The studio is now back in the hands of the original owner. I don’t expect things will change much as the studio and the community remained the same; encouraging and supportive. However, Hot Room Yoga or Bikram Yoga isn’t for everyone; the heat makes the practice sweaty and intense. And, it’s a consistent series; the same postures and verbal instructions (the dialogue) EVERY time. There’s an expected adherence to doing the same posture as everyone else, you don’t do other versions of poses in this studio.

This doesn’t work for a lot of people.

But, this studio and group of teachers are amazing. There’s push and commitment to the series as intended; the same 26 postures bookended by breathing exercises and the consistent instruction via the Bikram dialogue. What makes this Bikram studio unique from other Bikram studios is that the founder is a great story teller, and her senior teachers are too. They are good at offering their insights into poses and life while honoring the intention of the series. They are very much sticklers for doing poses as instructed.

This, also, is where some take umbrage with the method.

What this form of Yoga has done for me is create this incredible, healing structure and format where I can wring myself out and achieve peace and stillness. The repetition builds competency in poses I’ve simply not achieved in other forms or classes. To do this practice, you simply must surrender. That ability to surrender has translated into weathering the uncertainty of life with so much more grace than I had before. Because of this practice, I became a certified Yoga Instructor, and I now teach Yoga. I do not teach Bikram, but I return to this practice and this studio, again and again.

Bikram yoga Corvallis is a wonderful place to develop strength, flexibility and most importantly breath control. By controlling the breath, you are able to control the movements of the body and the mind. Show up as much as you can to that (yes carpeted room so that students do not slip on sweat and cause injury) hot room and you will quickly see the benefits to body and mind.

Instructors are knowledgable, encouraging, humorous and ruthless in a loving way. They want to see students succeed. Yes, you are here to work hard and defeat everything that you have told yourself that you are incapable of. Become a productive, competent, confident and HAPPY human being by exploring your perceived limitations and realizing that they were only a deception in a false reality.

There is no easy way, no quick fix. The right way is most often the long and difficult way...but worth it.

Reality: the room is hot, people are sweaty, the smell of people working hard is present yet bearable, teachers will tell you the truth and you will absolutely have to face yourself, literally and figuratively. If self realization and truth are what you are after, come and work. Forget the personalities that you can't tolerate and the carpet that you may not like and focus only on one thing. The most important thing. You. Look at yourself in the mirror, every inch of yourself. Look deeper each time you wish to look away. You will find beauty rather than flaw and strength rather than weakness. Don't give up on your own mind. Ths is all that we have to thrive on. Your volition, if you so choose is there to push you beyond what you thought possible.

After 8 years in that room I can honestly say that without yoga, I would not have survived myself. Please come with an open mind and try to learn as much as you can. A weak mind is easily disturbed or distracted. This is the precise reason why everyone should at the very least give a 100 % honest effort. I can and have come up with a list of excuses to not attend class pages long. But absolutely NOTHING supercedes my want/ need to fully understand the truth and reality of my being.

YIKES!!

I am a seasoned yoga practitioner, a certified Flow instructor, and a general health and fitness enthusiast.

This place was SMELLY. I have practiced Bikram before, but I have never EVER encountered such a disturbing smell.

That is the smell of sweat, which contains bacteria. Hundreds of hours of sweating from dozens of individuals accumulating in carpet over time.

I walked in. I walked out. How in the world is someone supposed to "leave everything behind" and tune in to their practice when the smell of the room is like a dirty gym bag?
