I began classes here when i was 32y/o with no formal martial arts prior. Being in the Marines over a decade ago i started looking for an instructor who would show skill, dicipline, and structure in the lessons. Mr Bennet went well beyond my expectations. Learning TKD through Mr Bennet has been an inspiring experience to say the least. He is someone i look up to greatly and i strive to perform my best for him as he does for me, and the rest of his students.

I started at Hi Yah as an adult with my children. I'm going on three years now, and it's been great the entire time. The workouts are substantial yet enjoyable. I'm more flexible and I'm in better shape, than I have been in a long time. We learn all the fundamentals and discipline of martial arts as well as self defense in a way that well paced for your development.

Hi Yah Taekwondo is the best martial arts school in Southern Oregon hands down. Mr Bennett and his teachers are fantastic. They make learning Taekwondo fun while instilling discipline and self worth into every lesson. Mr Bennett strives to make a meaningful connection with every student. They do not rush through the training like some other schools might. The teachers want to make sure the students have a good understanding of a movement or technique before moving on.

When my now 11 yr old son was around 6 we had a two week trial at a local karate place and I was very intimidated by how serious the environment was. That made me hesitant to check out other places. My 9-year old son has been going to Hi-Yah! for about 2 years now. I must say, Mr. Bennett is an amazing instructor for the kids and he's developed a team of assistants who follow his lead. He's very patient but very firm with his students. It's obvious that he loves teaching TKD and you can see his excitement when the kids do well. When they don't, well, he's not giving them a trophy just for showing up which I appreciate.
