About the Club

Hi, I'm Mitch Hoveke owner of Ignite Fitness.
I am a fitness trainer, boxing instructor, and massage therapist in Portland, Oregon. I work with a wide variety of clients from the general population, high school athletes, families, and anyone motivated to get their body moving.

My goal is to help people be the best versions of themselves. My passion is to build community and bring people to higher levels of physical achievement, confidence, and longevity.
I will be offering morning and evening group circuit classes, personalized training, boxing classes, recovery sessions in a safe and fun environment.

I’ve been coming to Ignite Fitness for several months and Mitch is the best! His energy is unbounded and his motivation for everyone to have a great time while working out is infectious. He is an expert instructor and deeply knowledgeable about proper form through all of the movements. His circuit style training is fun and fast paced, which makes the time go by quickly. I highly recommend Mitch and Ignite to anyone interested in getting in great shape!

Great little gym! Stoped in for a class. Very clean and has a good assortment of well maintained equipment. Best part was the instructor leading the class who kept things moving and offered guidance as needed. I’m planning to purchase a multi class pass.

Ignite Fitness is my go-to gym for fun, functional fitness and the best boxing workouts in town. I have loved working out at Ignite because every workout is different but effective - never boring! I've seen major gains in my muscle and tone since working out here, and I always have a good time doing it. The owner has a background in martial arts as well and his boxing mitt work is unmatched! I've worked out at many boxing gyms in Portland and nowhere comes close to Ignite Fitness. The owner is super qualified and knows his stuff in terms of fitness, building muscle, and exercise, but more than that he is a thoughtful and kind human who puts his members' overall health first. He is never not smiling and always ready to challenge us with a new fun workout. Ignite is a community gym where members know each other and care about each and cheer each other on while we work hard. The best kind of community! So grateful for this happy gym that gives real results.

I've been a member of Ignite Fitness for 5 months now, and I absolutely love it! The boxing classes are both fun and physically challenging, pushing me mentally and helping me grow. Mitch is an incredible coach—he knows how to motivate and push you while maintaining a positive and fun atmosphere. I also tried the strength class, which was equally challenging and enjoyable. What I love most is that I actually look forward to attending the classes, which has been key to sticking with my fitness routine. Highly recommend!

Mitch is the most enthusiastic, motivating, and involved instructor you can imagine. Even when he’s tired or overworked, he will still show up like there’s no place he’d rather be. He designs the most creative workouts that will inevitably leave you DEMOLISHED. I drive 25-minutes in rush hour each way just because of how special Mitch and his classes are.

Mitch has created a fantastic space, program and community at Ignite. Both classes and personal training are great experiences. Mitch (the owner) is a wonderful trainer! I liked him so much I've followed him from another gym. The workout is always fun, creative and challenging.
