There was a homeless man in the hot tub accompanied by his dog, who was also in the hot tub. So unclean I need to have a second shower once I get home to feel clean after touching any of the equipment or using the locker room.

We canceled our memberships in February and are still being billed in May. The employee at the gym seemed clueless how to cancel and said we probably had to go to the website. The website was unclear but had a contact form that we used to request the cancellation. After continuing to be billed we found a phone number and was told we had to submit the request to a specific email. OMG... And still being billed. It’s like Hotel California, you can never leave... super unprofessional!!!

They lack customer service. They take your name and number and tell you that they will forward to some mystery person who can help you who never calls you back. Management, integrity, responsibility, all missing. Once there’s a customer service issue there is no one around to help. Buyer beware.

I enjoy the size of this facility and how much of a variety of things you can do here. There is a soccer field, many machines(some in more secluded areas for more private working out), also they have many classes through out the week. I have been greeted by only friendly staff each time I visit as well!

Wish I could rate lower than one star. I have been trying to cancel for over six months because the gym was bad. Broken equipment rude staff. Each time I was completely screwed by whoever was "helping" me. This gym successfully stole hundreds of dollars from me while I tried time and again to cancel. The hidden fees and cooperate policies intentionally mislead you and make it difficult for anyone trying to leave the gym and not pay them. Even down to the point of employees not being trained on how to cancel people's membership. Managers are given no power to help customers and coorperate headquarters intentionally mislead you. If you work for International fitness have some self respect and get another job. If you go to the gym, quit now and triple check you actually have. And if you don't go to International Fitness STAY AWAY. I pray consumers do there job and boycott this terrible company until it no longer exists.

Very disappointed with this facility. I signed up for a certain monthly fee and they ended up taking $10 more a month. I have called several times trying to get this resolved. Each time I have called and requested to talk to a supervisor they just happen to be busy. I am very disappointed with the customer service. It is poor at best. Be prepared to have more money taken out of your account than you signed up for.

When signing up I asked the women if I didn't auto pay if I would still be billed. She said no. I got in an accident and couldn't go to the gym. I didn't pay and 6 months later got a bill for $200. Be really clear and call, they won't send you warning or monthly bills. Even if you don't set it on auto pay and don't go, they are still charging you. I got a letter saying they were closing the account and still got the bill.

This is a hard one. I love the gym. I can't rate it high because too many things are just wrong. Here is my opinion for what it's worth:

Awesome:
Lots of equipment. You can find things to do in this gym you never knew had a machine or area to perform. They have boxing, soccer, swimming pool, basketball court, core fusion, mma area, and probably a thousand of machines and weights.

People - employees and patrons are awesome and friendly. It makes workouts fun and enjoyable even on bad days:)

Price is reasonable and affordable.

Bad:
Locker room is stinky as hell. I think that there was a flood from the sauna. Now it just stinks.

Very few fans inside the gym. On hot days it's just bad. No air movent. It's beyond me why the gym owner does not buy three or four industrial fans and move air around. On a hot day it can be miserable inside.

Broken equipment does not get attention. Usually the most desired and used equipment breaks and stays such for a very long time. Some never gets fixed period. This one is not a biggie because there are always hundreds of other stations available.

Not enough weights. The entire gym probably had 6 10 pound plates while there are at least 10 or more bench press benches. It is very hard to get the wieghts you want on a busy day.

The equipment is old, many items are "out of order" and then never repaired. The staff doesn't seem to care, they just sit behind the desk and read or chit-chat. If you try to cancel your membership, they will just keep billing you forever and giving you excuses. I was finally given the number of their accounts person and when she said "Yes, your final bill date was this, and you shouldn't have been charged. I'll send this up to senior management to get you a refund, but it will take up to two weeks," I lost all faith in their management system. Sending every cancellation request to senior management is not a way to run a business. Trapping a person into a membership is not a way to run a business. You should have people excited to come to your gym. Instead, you have a locker room that stinks, a gym full of blasting music and broken-down equipment, an "artificial turf" field that falls apart when you try to walk on it, and a passel of uninterested employees who don't even react when someone makes a major safety violation (like lifting up a bar full of weights and tilting it, then getting upset when all the weights fall off). Don't give them your account number, or you'll be charged in perpetuity, perhaps even after death.

I like this gym for what it is. I really do. What makes this a two star gym is the staff and maintenance (so, staff). The staff just doesn't care. They don't care about the gym, they don't care about their jobs, they don't care about you. Worst customer service, you're basically told to just deal with it, whatever your problem is. The only reason I go to this gym is that this is the only gym I can afford and they bank on that.

Angel, if you're reading this, please find a new job, one you like. You're there to provide a service for your members. You are not providing that service. We should not have to pay for your apathetic attitude.

Dirty with broken equipment all the time. Nothing is ever in the place it should be. They don't care about their patrons. They find any way to nickel and dime you. Will charge hidden fees. Basketball was good, but open gym is pretty much non existent now. They wanted to charge members 5 dollars to use the basketball open gym time and their over priced basketball league is the worst league in town.

The price of membership is great at international fitness but that's about where it ends especially concerning this west 11th location. Read other reviews because they are accurate. Big facility full of equipment that is either broken or on its last leg. Little to no maintenance done until it's actually broke and even then it doesn't get fixed - at least in a timely manner. The facility is large enough for hundreds of people but the men's changing room is only large enough for 6 guys to be changing at once before things get completely uncomfortable. Seriously, three bays that are maybe 5x6ft. Many of the lackers are broke They seemingly do not use rags for members to wipe equipment down but instead provide paper towels and water if the paper towels are not out. I would not want to do a swab test on any of the equipment since I still have half a year membership. Staff is at the desk if you need them (or want them for that matter). I was just there the other night and decided to use the upstairs weight machines for the first time only to learn that a couple are completely broke and half are missing the pin used to select the weight. So if your 10 years old and you want to lift, press, push and pull the bar great. Otherwise, this section is useless. Much more to say including but will end with - I won't be renewing my year membership. If you dare, only sign up for a month to see for yourself.

Pros:

Cheap
Plenty of equipment (besides squat racks)
Very large
Indoor soccer and boxing area
Not many rules (ex. banging weights)

Cons:

No AC or heating (very hot summers)
Not well maintained equipment
Locker rooms are small are dirty

Overall it's perfect for me. I only use the barbells, so I don't need clean or fancy equipment. If you're only coming in to workout and not for comfort or cleanliness then it's a great gym.

After years working out from the finest weight rooms , to make do home gyms in the Middle East and West Africa, I can say this gym struggles to contend with any of them.

For a building and location with so much potential the management and standards undermine any opportunity it has at establishing itself as a quality fitness center. Cleanliness while having slightly improved over the last 6 months is still atrocious. The same blood splatters were on the floor under the cable machine for weeks. Speaking of the cable machine, it's been broken for at least two weeks now with no effort to complete the simple repairs necessary to have it back up and running. It breaks often, probably due to the complete inability of any lifter to find two matching free weights, as they are spread across the entire gym due to absolutely no enforcement of gym etiquette ( which also results in most over 75 lbs being nearly taco'd or completely broken thanks to being thrown around. )

There is nearly no staff interaction outside of the lobby desk. As a result gym goers run wild across the entire complex working out bare foot, bringing in their dogs, or otherwise making a complete joke out of the place. If you are seeking exposure to new strains of germs, the weird, the unusual, or an example of how not to manage your own gym - International W11th is a great place to go!

I'll start with the good first. International Fitness on Commerce St is a very large facility that has plenty of room to do a variety of workouts. Now for the bad. The facility is poorly maintained and most of the staff have poor attitudes. My fiance ran into membership payment issues with them and they were ruthless. No attempts to appease her or work the issue out just pay or else thug mentality. I tried talking to Chris the general manger and that became comical. I told him the situation and he simply told me I'd have to talk to the collection and dues manager, the guy we were having issues with in the first place. I asked to talk to his boss(Skye). He told me she worked at the facility on Q St. I called them only to discover that Skye worked at IF on Commerce St. and they seemed confused he would say that. The guy would try over talking me too several times while trying to speak. I literally had to tell him to stop trying to over talk me. Who in their right mind thought this guy would be a good G.M.? I hope the owner Tony learns about his employees because they're going to lose him future customers.

Ive been a member here over two years. I was previously a member at court sports. I switched to IF because I was tired of paying $140 for the court sports monthly family pass considering that my kids only used the pool once a month. I think that this IF location could be awesome. it has so much potential, but it seems to lack direction and attention to cleanliness. I am still a member here and I don't plan on leaving anytime soon so that has to be weighed in(no pun intended). The good; Hot tub, dry sauna, lots of parking, plenty of equipment, huge facility, friendly staff, day care, spacious locker room, outdoor pool, indoor turf soccer field, and towel service. The bad; when something breaks(hot tub, shower, exercise equipment) it takes long time for repairs to be made. The landscaping is in very poor shape. It doesn't appear that any effort has been made to weed or cut the grass. This isn't a huge issue, but it's an indication of the overall cleanliness..... including inside the facility. There are a lot of very nice and respectable people who consistently work out here, but there are also quite a few undesirable people that look like they just got out of prison..... most likely due to the low monthly membership fees.

This was the worst gym ever. I've belonged to half a dozen gyms over the last 15 years prior to this, all of which had their pluses and minuses. Most of them were well worth the money. This is the first time I've been so thoroughly and consistently disgusted I had to write a review. From the beginning I've been lied to and given different stories about why and when the equipment, that is so often broken, will be fixed. I joined with the expectation that the hot tub would be functioning. Two months in and its been working all of three days. At one point it was apparently fixed but nobody bothered to move the 'out of order signed' plastered to a bench that was blocking it. This is just one of many indicators of the total lack of professionalism behind the running of this gym. At one point I asked the manager when the upstairs equipment that was broken would be fixed (I'd been told month ago that parts were 'on order.') Instead of listening and taking my concerns seriously, he argued with me, asking me why I'd want to use the upstairs area anyway? I answered that I like the quieter, calmer, warmer upstairs area,. which was apparently an unacceptable answer. He made me take him upstairs and show me that there was broken equipment. When I pointed out at least 8 broken pieces of equipment, he told me I should just use the downstairs area. I know I'm not the only one who preferred the upstairs as its routinely used by many clients. Yesterday, I looked at my bank account and realized they'd upped my charges by $10 a month without asking or notifying me. Finally, tonight I looked up the gym to see what it's working hours were. 24 hours according to on-line. I drove the 15 minutes to the gym only to find that that was a mistake that nobody had bothered to fix. For once, there was someone behind the desk who gave a s-it and he seemed very frustrated that several people had walked in that night on the same wrong information. He sent me away with suggestion that I use the club on Green Acres, an extra 15 minutes from my house (no thanks). Don't join this gym. Further, you'll find just about everything in this gym is neglected, from grafitti in the sauna to broken lockers, to broken showers, to lazy staff and management.Do yourself a favor, save yourself the stress and frustration.

Sure would have been nice if my trainer spent as much attention to me as he did texting on his cell phone. I feel very cheated. Plus you better read the fine print. Once your training contract ends, it automatically rolls over and renews again unless you mail a certified letter to member services specifically stating that you don't want the automatic rollover. Exercisers be ware!
