I can’t say enough good things about K Fit. It’s an incredibly supportive, women-only space that truly fosters a sense of safety, inclusion, and community—no matter your age, fitness level, or body type. Even though I didn’t know anyone when I joined, I always felt welcomed and never out of place.

I started working out here while recovering from an injury that had left me anxious and fearful about exercise. The personal training I received was compassionate and empowering—it helped me build strength and confidence at my own pace. Over time, I felt strong enough to join group classes, and now I feel like I’m finally working out at my full potential.

This gym isn’t just about fitness; it’s about healing, empowerment, and belonging. I very, very highly recommend it for any woman looking for community and a place to feel strong, supported, and safe!

Have been attending classes 3 days a week for over a year now, pretty much addicted. Classes are fun, challenging, and different everytime, with a great buncha gals and excellent instructors. Couldn’t ask for more to keep the muscles, core, balance, and happiness while doing all in top shape.

I started with KFit for the Wednesday 5:30am Tabor run in March 2024, it was so fun that I gave the gym a try and wow, it’s the best! I love the supportive environment, knowledgeable trainers who focus on women’s fitness needs, and circuit training in creative ways. I continue to get stronger. Recently, I had zero soreness after loading a dumpster to the tune of 20,000 steps to help downsize my aging mom. KFit works, 100% recommend trying a class!

I have worked out with K Fit Studio for a while now. However, I recently broke my foot and needed surgery and have been on one leg for the past month. It is a crazy hassle to not be able to bear weight on one of your feet, but the main thing that has saved me is the strength and functional movement fitness I have gained at K Fit Studio. The frequency that I have needed to perform single leg dead-lifts and squats on a daily basis to just function shocked me. Core and arm strength have enabled me to use the crutches and knee scooter. Surprisingly (to me!) you need core strength on that knee scooter... I feel grateful that I have been able to do these things. It has allowed me to be at work, cook in my kitchen, do daily life stuff, and take care of myself on one leg, sometimes with the other wrapped in a garbage bag and elevated. All of the strength and core work that the trainers at K Fit have us do to keep us moving safely and strong has never been more evident to me as in this past month. Many thanks to Mary, Tammy, Sophie, Janet, Melissa, Genevieve, Katie and all the excellent trainers at K Fit for keeping us strong, healthy, and well equipped to handle whatever life throws our way. I can’t wait to get back in there!

Like so many of the other women who have posted here, I pretty much hated gyms until I started at KFit-- first working individually with Janet Hall and then joining one of her small-group classes. I sought Janet's help initially because my physical therapist told me she was great for clients with osteopenia, and I do feel that the work we've done has strengthened my bones. But it's so much more than that-- I've gained all-over strength, flexibility, dexterity, and endurance. It seems that everyday, I notice some way in which my body is more capable than it was before. The classes are friendly and fun, while being a great workout. And Janet and the other trainers are so savvy about the body that I don't worry that something they'll suggest will hurt me-- certainly not the case in other gyms.

All women gym with exceptional group classes and outstanding personal training. I stopped going to my physical therapy because the work I do with the trainer Melissa helped me ten fold to anything else I've tried for my spine pain. She somehow knows how to push me hard to get a wonderful workout all while NOT aggravating my very sensitive nervous system/pain. Cannot say enough good things! You just have to give it a try.

What I love is that even with the virtual classes during the pandemic that I get great exercise AND feel like I'm part of a community of women all trying to keep healthy. The instructors are funny, fun and always give alternatives and encouragement for doing what's right for my body that day. I look forward to getting back to the gym when the pandemic calms down. Until then, I'll keep doing the virtual workouts because I always feel better after!

Kfit is simply amazing! It has a welcoming atmosphere with supportive coaching. After having children and not taking care of myself for a few years, Kfit was the perfect fit. I’ve been attending three classes per week for a year and am still often sore, in all the good ways! The workouts are varied, challenging, and full body, with a perfect mix of strength and cardio training. My favorite class is Tammy’s The Blast! It makes working out fun!

K Fit Studio is a community of women motivated to move our bodies and stay healthy more than it is a gym.
This place had changed my life in such positive ways. I’ve gone from being someone who said I disliked gyms and never working out, to absolutely loving waking up before 7am to go move my body and sweat it out before I start my day!
I love all of the variety - we do something different every time, all surprise and novelty, no boredom here!
Mary’s positivity is infectious and she does an amazing job supporting us to have accurate body mechanics so as to avoid injuries.
Tammy is awesome too and you are sure to sweat up a storm in her classes.
Conscientious warm-ups, circuit training, TRX, TABATA, group workouts, high intensity interval training, strength and cardio, we get it all.
I come 3-4 days a week and really miss it when I am away.
I am so grateful for K Fit and hope it sticks around for many many years to come!

I can't say enough about how wonderful K Fit Studio is. Knowing that I need a "class situation" for a work out, K Fit helps to keep me accountable to moving my body. The circuit-type work-outs are always changing, so there is never any boredom and this group of instructors really know how to modify things so that they work for all variety of limited mobility issues that we face as we age or when injured. They also make everyone that attends classes feel welcome and like they are part of a community!

Speaking of community, the women in the K Fit community are welcoming, supportive, and frankly, hilarious at times! No matter how grumpy or tired I may feel when I walk in that door, I never leave still feeling that way!

Thanks Mary and Tammy and the K Fit Community! (And thanks as well to the other coaches I have occasionally taken classes with - Liane, Kayla, Abby, & Genevieve).

K Fit is the best studio with the greatest group of ladies. There is no other way that I would consistently make a 5:30am class 4x a week for almost 9 years! I am NOT a morning person, but this group (and Mary and Tammy) make it worth getting up for!

I am so deeply grateful for this gym and the amazing community that has formed around it. I have been going to K Fit for 3 years now and it would not be an exaggeration to say it has changed my life. I spent an embarrassing amount of time looking at different gyms in Portland online, trying to pump myself up to go try one out, trying to intuit from their website if it was a place I would feel comfortable. Thanks to a friend bringing me to a KFit class, I instantly felt welcomed, supported and encouraged by the awesome owners Tammy and Mary and all the folks working out there. I rediscovered my love of exercise and physically challenging myself at KFit - something I had lost touch with when I became a parent. I love how the classes here somehow always meet you at your level - whether you are just getting back into shape or already a workout pro - and they are always changing so I never get bored. Everything can always be modified to meet your level/ability and everyone is so supportive of one another no matter what. If you are looking for a supportive community of rad ladies to get strong with - this could be your new happy place!

Kfit offers much more than a fabulous, highly personalized workout. It's also a community of amazing women who support one another and offer a variety of resources. From an acupuncturist and Thai massage therapist to a real estate agent and loan officer, my life has been enriched by being a part of the Kfit family.

I started going to classes at KFit about 5 months ago. I had just returned back to Portland after over a month long tour of my one woman show in New York and I felt physically horrible.

Immediately upon my return to Portland, I dove into editing a film I had performed in. It was very noticeable that my shoulders were hunched over and there was a dramatic sway to my back. My posture was lacking to say the least.

My youngest child, at the time, was just under two years old and although I had mostly lost the baby weight from daily 5 mile walks, I didn’t feel strong and was often hunched over nursing and rocking my toddler. It was no wonder I was in pain. After seeing the footage of myself, I knew I needed to get into the gym.

I live a few blocks away from KFit, so I had seen the women at the gym working out and jogging around the block. I would glance in the window and see these super women slamming med balls and slamming ropes. It seemed like the most intimidating place I could have possibly chosen to work out. I knew if I showed up, I would fail but I didn’t want something easy. I wanted to challenge myself. So of course, I chose a 5:30AM workout as my first KFit experience. I threw myself in with the lionesses.

My form was non-existent. I didn’t know how to do a squat or lunge properly. My plank was swayed. And my body was like what the f—k are you doing to me? There were times I tried things and it I would just start laughing or crying and sweating. I just kept showing up . At first two times a week, then 3. Now I try to make it 4-5 times a week.

I finally have down planks and squats, although there are plenty of times I still need corrections and guidance towards finding my form and the instructors at KFit are always there to give those gentle corrections and guidance. KFit instructors and founders - Tammy and Mary - are fierce powerhouses of feminine strength that will make you believe in yourself and just what your body is truly capable of. It won’t be easy but when you make it through to the other side of the workout, it’s going to feel so good.

Going to K Fit is not only a part of my physical fitness routine but is a way I stay sane. It’s a way that I nourish my need for community connection. KFit is my time. When I get up early at 4:45 am there is a part of me that says “Go back to bed!” and then there is another part of me that says “ You are worth it. This is your time. Claim it”. When I go to K Fit, I’m claiming that time. I’m investing in myself. I’m pushing myself. I’m believing in myself and I’m surrounded by a room full of women that I believe in, and that believe in me.

Over this past 5 months, my body has morphed in ways that feel monumental to me. I’ve developed greater muscle tone and definition in my arms, back, shoulders and abs. My posture has changed a great deal. I stand up taller. But above all I feel stronger. My back pain that I used to experience went away after working out at Kfit for just a few weeks. And for the first time since moving to Portland I’ve discovered a sense of community.

KFit is a space for awesome women who make a commitment to each other and show up, for themselves and for their community and I’m honored in every way to be apart of it.

I have been working out at K Fit since they opened, and have recommended it to several friends who are now regulars too!

The workouts are challenging, but everyone is encouraged to do what's best for them, and alternatives to the moves are always given.

Instructors are stickler for form and give specific personal feedback.

It truly is a judgement free zone and welcoming atmosphere, with a wide variety of women participating, and as I leave I'm always feel better than when I arrived.

The BEST though...THE NEIGHBORHOOD CAT THAT VISITS DURING CLASS!

I've been going to KFit regularly for the past 7 months and I love it! I feel stronger and more functional since going, which I haven't felt in years! I had been in an accident several years ago that left me with some chronic injuries and pain, so I was nervous to get back into exercising, but I found SUCH a supportive community at KFit of trainers and members! I particularly love Suzy's classes--they're specifically geared towards folks with injuries so she's always got creative ways to modify workouts to accommodate our needs.

Can't recommend the community of women at KFit highly enough!
