-You can trust in his knowledge and experience–he knows what to do! I've stopped second guessing and I just go for it, I'm not going to get hurt and I know I'll be glad I did it.
I was a dance/cardio gal and never lifted anything above 3 lbs in my workouts. Now I'm older and my body needs diff type of workout. Enter weight lifting. I had a chronic muscle imbalance issue and wanted to start building some strength for later in life so I was looking for someone to help me address both those things. He is a great coach, will cheer you on and you'll do things you never thought you would be strong enough to do. I never feel any pressure, I feel inspired and driven. Whenever something doesn't jive, he has an adjustment that makes it possible. Highly recommend Alberto and Level up Strength Society!

For the past few years, I’ve been exploring different fitness approaches like group fitness, cardio workouts, Pilates, and some strength-based home workouts. While these routines gave me a sense of accomplishment immediately after, I wasn’t seeing any real progress with lifting or physical improvement over time. On top of that, my energy levels throughout the day often felt drained. That's when I decided to seek out a personal trainer who could provide proper guidance in both workout programming and nutrition.
Working with Alberto has been a game-changer. He’s not only corrected my form but also dispelled a lot of fitness myths I previously believed in. I now have a clear and structured path forward and feel much more confident about my fitness journey. Over the years I’ve haven’t received success from personal trainers that were assigned to me at large gyms where I was a member. From a recommendation I tried out Level Up Strength Society and I’m so thankful I did. Amelia has an anatomy and physiology professional’s knowledge of the human body and a nutritionist’s knowledge of holistic wellness. On top of her wealth of knowledge she is an outstanding personal trainer! Prior to meeting her I had never stuck to a fitness plan and ended up going back to old bad habits, but she has kept me on track for over 9 months. The workouts are so fulfilling. I have not felt this great in years. I look forward to every session with Level Up!

I've been working with Alberto for about 6 months now and am super stoked with the results! His passion and knowledge for fitness is top notch. Spring 2023 Edit:
After almost another year (!!) with Alberto, I'm still extremely stoked on the results. Building strength and feeling good. I'm also wrapping up the 90 Day Sugar Reset Nutrition Program led by Amelia.
Being pretty new to strength training and macros (and tbh just general nutrition) - I learned a ton from this program. Amelia is a fantastic coach, with a ton of knowledge related to nutrition and performance. The program never felt too restrictive or "punishing" like other diets I've tried, which I really appreciated. Amelia was super helpful and has a lot of practical advice on how to form healthy habits beyond the program.
Short version: Gained some good habits, picked up some new recipes, built muscle, lost 20lbs, would recommend :)

My wife and I started the Sugar Reset program to promote insulin sensitivity, better eating habits, and followed the diet pretty closely. Over the past 10-12 weeks, we’ve learned new eating guidelines, recipes, a couple of fasts, and somehow continued exercising with more energy and needing less calories! I was pretty surprised when I stepped on the scale the other day to see a drop in my weight of over 15 pounds. I didn’t come into this diet thinking I would see a dramatic and healthy weight loss. I am happy about the habits I’m learning and to know that I can experience less inflammation by changing my relationship with food. Thank you Amelia for this opportunity.

I've had a fantastic experience with Level Up Strength Society, I've been working with Alberto for about half a year now and he's been amazing to train with!
Starting as a complete beginner and being out of shape made me nervous to work with a trainer, but Alberto was non-judgmental and very supportive! He adjusted everything to be custom to what I needed and was very patient with my growth, and I've been enjoying the process! At this point I'm stronger and more fit than I've ever been and am still going thanks to his help and motivation.
Not only does he give me fitness routines but he also takes the time to check in with me and help me understand how everything works. By understanding the process, how mobility ties into strength, nutrition, and the right mental space to succeed I feel like I now have the foundations to build healthy habits that I will keep for the rest of my life! I'm very excited to keep working with him to stay on track and keep building these habits to make a true lifestyle change instead of just doing a routine for a month then stopping.

Being an younger older person and working a desk job for years I wanted help to improve mobility, over all strength, and eventually lower my body fat to a healthier level. I found that help with Alberto. He listened to what I want to accomplish and is helping me get there. He has been straight with me about what is needed on my end and he has more than kept my work outs effective, different, and challenging. From dead lifts and squats to boxing (which I really enjoy), Alberto keeps things interesting. He focuses on instruction, supervision, and form. He asks for feed back and makes adjustments as necessary - even when the adjustment is providing encouragement. I feel safe training with him. I worked with Amilia to jump start getting back into working out. Growing up I did Soccer, Football, and Fencing. Over the years struggled to find a gym/trainer that would work with me at my pace, and re-entering the gym in my 30’s after converting to remote seemed like an impossible challenge. Amilia works closely to help me understand what I’m working on and why, but also gives me the tools to continue outside of our training sessions. Gym time has become my zen place and training sessions where I test myself and push my limits. Starting back up with a trainer has been the best choice I made.

I've worked with Alberto for the last 6 months and he's fantastic. This is my first time doing weight training and he's made everything approachable but also kept it challenging. I can tell I'm significantly stronger and he does a great job keeping each routine balanced between upper and lower body work. I have been working out with Amelia for about a year. The first three months I learned how to adjust my workouts if I had a minor injury and to avoid unnecessary downtown. An injury use to be 'time off.' Over the last year I developed a base strength that helps my daily activities. Amelia focuses on legs and back strength that helps support my core and has significantly improved my health. I no longer experience shoulder or back pain. She anchors my week every week with a workout that is challenging and consistent with my goals. She advances my workouts without overdoing it. She has taught me more about my body, how to maintain it. stretching to overcome injuries, and how to work through my own mental fatigue by encouraging new and productive goals. I plan on continuing my training and can only say that you will never regret investing in your health in the long term. This should be mandatory for all of us. Health should be a number one priority and Amelia and Robert are living examples who can help you get on the right path.

Had a few sessions with Alberto he listened to my goals and where my problem areas were and where I had weakness from prior surgeries and injuries. I was going in thinking that my first session was going to kill me and end up almost throwing up in a trash can like I did years ago went I go a training session. It wasn’t anything like that it was challenging yet not so stressful on my body so it left me looking forward to the next session and built my confidence. This review is so long over due!! Alberto is one of the best trainers there is, hands down. He helped me understand the basics of lifting and really pushed me in each session. He got me on such a good routine and I still continue to use a lot of what he has taught me 3 years later! Totally worth all the money for the knowledge and skill he has. :)
The online program him and his wife Amelia have is also a wonderful tool to have! Especially if you can’t get to a gym and have some equipment at home. That program took me out of my lull after the shut down happened. I can’t recommend them enough.

I've been training off and on with Alberto for over a year, working on boxing and fitness. When I'm in a fitness rut or a place where my bad choices resulted in me feeling like my body is not functioning at its best I know it's time to call Alberto. He pushes me to do my best and tailors his approach to my goals. It's easy to coast by under the radar in group fitness classes or even with some less hands-on coaches, not with Alberto, you're going to leave each training session feeling like you got every dollar's worth (an more) and pushed yourself to places you didn't think you could. My boxing has improved exponentially due to his attention to detail and ability to see my strengths and weakness and create a very specific training regimen. I've been able to push through mental and physical barriers I previously felt were not within reach for me. Some coaches might do the exact same thing with all of their clients, but with Alberto you know he's paying close attention to you and your physical abilities and crafting the ideal training plan for you to meet and exceed whatever your goals happen to be.

I've been working with both Amelia and Alberto since April of this year. I am a long -time gym member and have lifted weights before, but when I create my own programs it seems I never reach my goals! I have been active and eating well for a while, but my body doesn't really show it. As the pandemic started I decided to get healthy instead of drinking more and eating freely (which is what I started with).
Alberto gave me a home program with the equipment I had to work with, and Amelia gently started guiding me to eating less calories per day. I am actually so happy that I hired BOTH of them, because I am losing weight but also feeling stronger and seeing my muscles develop at the same time. It's pretty great. And I actually am working out less than I was before! Alberto gives me some unique moves that hit multiple muscle groups and have really helped me get over some injuries and the resulting weak areas those have caused. Amelia has been SO supportive and checking in with me multiple times through out this process. I have definitely learned a lot and now have some tools that I can continue to use for the rest of my life. Worth the money!

Amelia and Alberto are fantastic personal trainers to work with in portland. With decades of experience between them, they have the knowledge and expertise to keep you motivated about your strength goals no matter where you are starting from.
The most important aspect of training for me is to know "why" you are doing the exercises you've been given. Both Amelia and Alberto are able to provided digestible accurate information so that you learn and grow awareness of your body along the way. You are never following workouts blindly with these two trainers.
