Geoff was a great trainer for me. I work out at home and had almost given up after repeatedly injuring myself. His knowledge and guidance made a huge difference. He taught me proper form, helped me modify exercises, and built a workout plan I can continue on my own at home. In just a few months I am lifting heavier than before and staying injury free. His playlists are great and his prices are very reasonable to boot.

If anyone had told me that I would be doing ZOOM boot camp in my kitchen for 3 and 1/2 years, I would have thought they were really crazy. So here I am still doing it thanks to Geoff of Living room fitness. He keeps this senior citizen still moving and not giving up. He is a positive influence for my health and well being. I won't be able to move as well as he does but I can do my best to try. When I hear that high planks are next on the agenda or push-ups, my brain hears "floor, bench, or wall" . Good modifications for many of the routines if a person isn't in the mood for the floor

Geoff’s living room fitness classes are fabulous. I have been attending for about a year, and they have definitely improved my fitness and strength. The classes are different each day, each with strength, balance and cardio components. He constantly reminds us to be safe and gives several ways to do each exercise. I love not having to drive to a gym!

Geoff is the actual best; he’s a great trainer and a stellar person. I came to him last year barely able to walk due to pain, and he helped me pinpoint what I needed to strengthen and moves to avoid, when to rest to support my recovery, and he provided much-needed encouragement throughout the process. Geoff actively works to create a supportive and safe environment, and he’s great at adapting my workouts based on how my body is feeling and what my current goals are. Although I’ve been pretty active my whole life, I had never really lifted weights before I worked with Geoff and now it’s a part of my week I look forward to! Under his guidance, I’m now training for a half marathon and feeling so much stronger, in a sustainable way. 10/10 recommend for anyone, from very experienced athletes to folks brand new to fitness.

Geoff is a gifted teacher. I am so glad I heard about his classes through a friend who has been following him for several years. I have a difficult time remaining consistent with exercise on my own so having a class to attend works best for me. Geoff is cognizant of age differences and always suggests modifications for each movement. I have found I am feeling better than I have in a very long time. Another bonus with his zoom classes is not having to go anywhere except your own home. Thanks, Geoff!

I love working with Geoff. He is incredibly thoughtful and tailors each session plan to balance progress with where you are at. He is very open to feedback and in fact seeks it proactively. I worked with him 4 years ago but then moved abroad. I recently moved back and started working with him again. I can already see results after only 4 weeks!

Above all Geoff is a pleasure to talk to. He is friendly and approachable. He creates an environment where you never feel intimidated by the process, no matter how out of shape you are (I know I was!). I recommend Geoff to anyone seeking to get stronger and healthier and have a pleasant time along the way.

Geoff almost feels like a family member now, as he shows up in my living room every M/W/F morning for over 2 years now. I am noticeably stronger and more stable now thanks to his workouts. I can see improved balance and strength for gardening, paddleboarding. etc. I welcome lifting heavy and challenging my core. I feel like this practice will only continue to provide great health benefits for years to come. LOVE the convenience of working out from home. Makes it enjoyable and logistically doable.

Even before Covid, Geoff has been a constant for me with his exercise programs. His directions are easy to follow and he often offers "modifications" - options for creaky bone types like myself - which allow me to maintain the flow for the entire period.

I met Geoff ages ago at Mt Scott Community Center-- fast forward to now-- Geoff and I have been working together for several months at his private gym/studio working on strength & mobility. I've appreciated having someone help me be consistent and accountable, someone to show me what my body can do safely. I let him know what my physical limitations are and we worked that. My strength has surprised me! He has always been open to collaboration & feedback. I also appreciate him respecting boundaries when I said I didn't really want to get in to nutrition at this time (but you readers out there, he can help you with that!). Geoff and I have been working on injury recovery based conditioning for the last 6 months. Living Room Fitness has been the perfect bridge between physical therapy, and eventually resuming independent athletic activities.

What I have loved about personal training sessions with Geoff are the improvements to my overall health, strength, and positive changes to my mindset about health and fitness.

After some injuries in my early 20s, I struggled to move my body with any consistency. I had a “just rub some dirt in it” attitude about my pain, and that led to a lot of starting and stopping when it came to my health and fitness. When I realized I was pushing too hard and needed to slow down and start over from the basics, I decided to seek personal training.

Geoff has been amazing in helping me stay consistent without reinjuring myself. When my injuries were still an active problem, Geoff constructed workouts that avoided exacerbating my injuries but remained balanced. Whenever I have flare-ups, I let him know and we make adjustments as necessary. Beyond helping me slow down and better pay attention to my body, Geoff has helped me reach fitness goals I thought were impossible a few years ago!

Fitness used to be something that brought me a deep amount of anxiety, but these days my workouts are some of the highlights of my week. Having workouts tailored to my goals and needs makes me feel excited to move my body rather than dreading it. I've been able to find fun and laughter in movement, which is something I never thought I'd get in strength training. But how couldn't you have fun when you're doing force kicks, pushing rocks, and mastering your Jedi balance skills?

Geoff is an amazing teacher, a great listener, and one of the most kind, thoughtful, and fun-to-be-around people I know. I couldn’t recommend anyone higher!

I've never really been a fan of exercise, and then my neighbor encouraged me to try out Geoff's classes. He is amazing and full of tough love. I've been doing the online "Live from My Living Room" classes for several years now. They are my lifeline! The convenience factor is huge - I don't need to get up early, drive anywhere, or look fancy. I just wake up, log in, and get my exercise in. I feel stronger and more fit since working out with Geoff. His classes are full of variety and never boring. Great playlists, too! I came to Geoff for help about five months ago because I just couldn’t gather momentum on my own. Every time I would try to get back into a fitness routine I would quickly burn out and end up feeling more discouraged. He has been exactly what I needed:

1. Geoff approaches health holistically— He recognizes how movement, nutrition, and even lifestyle all contribute to your physical wellbeing. And this is reflected in his customized approach.
2. He is a phenomenal teacher— not only do I feel confident about performing movements safely, but I’ve learned what it feels like to have a lower-intensity / more consistent routine in my life. This has contributed to positive long-term changes (instead of the two-week burnout cycle I was in before).
3. He brings a relaxed and supportive demeanor to each session— With Geoff I feel encouraged to push myself to try new things and see what I can do… and I don’t feel pushed to do something I’m not ready for, or to move faster than I’m comfortable with.

If you are intimidated by personal training or nervous about being judged, I cannot recommend Geoff highly enough—he is incredibly patient, informative, thorough, kind, and just plain fun to talk to.

Geoff helped transform my attitude to nutrition and fitness within a few short months and at 32, I feel stronger and more in control of my health for the first time. His sessions won't make you feel beat up, but empowered. It might sound corny, but the rest of my day feels brighter after leaving Geoff's garage gym (it's a smaller, more personal space, and a LOT more warm and inviting than a big box gym). Plus, you might catch a glimpse of his cute dog.

When I met Geoff, I was burned out after years of pandemic stress, eating erratically, and not exercising at all. He picked up on the best ways to motivate and communicate with me—for instance, I am often on text, so he checks in with me that way. I never thought I could be "into" fitness, and now I pick up heavy weights that would have made me laugh a few months ago.

The right support can change everything. I highly recommend advocating for your own health by giving Geoff's classes and/or personal training sessions a try. It's worth it.

I've been working out with Geoff since 2015. My stats: now age 48 and I work a desk job. These workouts keep the soreness and pain at bay: the shoulder, back, "mouse-clicking" arm, etc. Strength training is key and when i take a break from classes, I begin a cycle of bothersome discomfort. We strengthen our back, arms and abs which is paramount. I enjoy the class too! That amazes me. I believe in movement and health, but am not a hardcore exerciser, nor have I been an athlete, and the way the classes are taught is always fun and novel - playful even. Geoff makes a point to give multiple modification: easy (care to joints and safe form), then adds 2-3 ways to step up the specific exercise but always reinforcing form.
I am recuperating from cancer and need to gently reintroduce range of motion and muscle strength. THIS IS A GREAT PROGRAM!

I first met Geoff at Mt Scott Community Center about 4 years ago and having attended his boot camp classes in person, personal training sessions and Zoom classes online, I feel inspired and motivated every day. Geoff is an excellent and dedicated trainer. He brings a very thoughtful approach to his work with his clients. He tailors his approach to the needs of the individual, and is great at listening to help create a training plan. He acknowledges life's challenges when thinking about helping you on your own health journey. His work with me this past summer and fall helped me gain more flexibility than I had in many years. It also helped with some lower back pain I had been experiencing.

I first started attending Geoff's Boot Camp classes in person in Portland OR prior to the pandemic. When the classes went on line in 2020, I was glad because I had moved out of the area. Since September 2020, two or three times each week, I roll out of bed about 6:45 a.m., don my exercise gear, and log on for what I think of as "medicine" for the body and mind. I used to get up each day with a stiff back and painful lower back. With Geoff's guidance I learned how to move with proper form, my posture improved, the weights I use are heavier, and I have zero joint or back pain. He is extremely knowledgeable about the body and works all of the muscle groups. No two workouts are quite the same; they go by quickly and are never boring. We focus on balance and finish with dynamic stretching. I have recommended him to all of my family members and I can't recommend him highly enough. He is the best personal trainer out there.

Geoff is a great human being and a fantastic fitness instructor. He leads his online classes with compassion, expertise, humor and experience, and I feel inspired by the focus he puts into each movement. He crafts each one hour class with care and mindfulness, focusing on strength, balance, endurance, and confidence which are so key health and wellness. I greatly appreciate that Geoff provides and models modifications for each movement so that each participant can choose what feels right for them in that moment and on that particular day. He also does such a great job of explaining how each movement builds particular muscles and strengthens joints. I feel inspired and stronger at the end of each class.

Geoff has been my fitness instructor for the past four years. Within this time there has been tremendous improvement in my strength and endurance. I am in the best shape of my life, largely due to Geoff’s motivation, guidance, and fitness knowledge.

He presents modifications for each exercise to meet your level and needs, but also empowers you to connect with your own physical and emotional state to get the best workout possible.
