Michael is a superb trainer, and probably the main reason I kept a level head during COVID lockdown. His 1 on 1 approach and ability to work with your existing injuries/weaknesses makes him an incredibly flexible and resourceful fitness trainer - one who's always keeping up with the latest medical and dietary research.

Michael works with clients of all ages, and tailors your sessions to help achieve your fitness goals in no time. If you have injuries or weak areas you tend to avoid, he can change your exercises to help those areas and avoid further pain and discomfort. Working with him put me in the best shape of my life - I only regret that I couldn't continue to see him after I moved out of state!

You will not be disappointed with your progress at Michael Haynes Fitness. The impactful work he's done for a myriad of people - including myself - sets the standard about what a personal trainer should help you obtain, and the path to realize it.

Michael is a very kind and compassionate trainer who deep dives into health questions and really studies the best science and medical practices for his patients. I've lost over 100 lbs (even before seeing Michael) and I explained to him where I struggle and what my goals are as someone who has some pretty specific needs. He listened to me and has been patient with me but he pushes me enough every session to where I feel stronger for the next. I really highly recommend him, especially for anyone struggling with health issues, weakness and weight loss.

It amazes me in this current environment that the core focus has been fear, panic,scare and control instead of empowering individuals to create, build and develop their strongest immunity so we can live our best "normal" life. That's what I decided target with the help of this incredible trainer. He was able to re-invent himself by creating a personal studio that would cater to 1on1 sessions. The studio is small but it is extremely functional w top notch equipment that is well laid out. I can do here what I can do in any gym. I love the privacy and not having to deal with other people's gym habits that sometimes can be annoying. Michael is till the best trainer out there and he gets better throughout the years. : Authorities have decided to shut down gyms and fitness centers where they have followed the strictest protocols but Walmart, Costco, Nail Salons etc where people come in the hundreds and touch everything without them being cleaned and wiped and sanitized remain open. Its time to change mindset and follow real science and logic that you can control. Your HEALTH!

I am extremely passionate about health and fitness so finding someone who shares the same if not more is exhilarating. The world needs to start being preventive and less reactive when it comes to health. We need more people like Michael and less of the medical doctors in this world. Finding the right personal trainer is like finding a hair stylist, a doctor and that perfect shade of lipstick rolled into one. You trust your health, body and beauty to this person and you are paying them with your hard earned money. I don't know about you but this person needs to meet strict standards.
If you see a PT who is not in shape, run!
If you talk to a PT who sounds more like a used car salesman and whose primary goal is to make $$$ than helping you achieve your goals, uber out of there!
If your PT does a lot of talking during a training session without moving with you or can't practice what they preach, fire them!
Most importantly, if your PT is more text book rather than practical and real life experience, I would think twice about them.

I realized that Health is not a trend, it is not a momentary goal, nor is it a fad that you get sucked into from some commercial gimmick, most importantly, it is not NEVER EASY. It is a lifestyle that you commit to. Im an extremely busy person and I don't have the time to work out every single day for long periods of time nor do I have the will power to motivate myself to get started but im willing to compromise so I can live a healthy lifestyle and feel good about myself and my body ...AS LONG AS I SEE RESULTS! I realized that I needed to find someone who lives and breathes health and fitness, who practices what they preach, looks the part and who has both the academic and practical knowledge about health and fitness. The search was long and arduous but it came to an end when I met Mike. He just checks all those boxes and more. His knowledge does not end with your personal training routine, he knows so much about food and nutrition which btw is an integral part of this equation. You can't see optimal results by just working out and then shoving your face with junk and processed food. Mike will not force you to do anything but he will explain clearly that the choices you make will lead to different results - Knowledge is power. His approach is very straightforward, precise and accurate. He tries to understand your goals and capabilities and creates a custom regimen that you can work with. For myself, Id rather have you work me to death for 45 mins 3x a week and get me to my maximum heart rate and achieve my results (I used to work out twice as much and maybe twice as hard while getting less results) I have been extremely happy with my results. I highly recommend Michael if you want more than just a physical trainer but a complete health coach. His rates are very reasonable based on comps and what this guy brings to the table. Totally worth the investment!!!

I trained with Michael Haynes for six months before he moved out of state. He is an outstanding fitness coach, and his techniques will get your results. Of course, it should go without saying that you have to help by eating healthy, getting enough sleep, cutting down on alcohol, etc., if you’re serious about your overall health and well-being.

Every session, Michael made me do compound exercises so I was multi-tasking my way to a stronger, trimmer body and a healthier me. I felt like he utilized the time to the max and cared very much about my improvement while also being aware of safety and a person’s limitations.

He is very knowledgeable, professional, and disciplined- he definitely practices what he preaches- but he is also understanding and perceptive. If something isn’t quite working, he can come up with another solution or strategy that best suits his client. I also found it very helpful when he made suggestions as to how to adjust my diet and nutrition to better achieve my goals.

I miss training with someone who really helped me feel stronger and healthier, so although he is far away I am actually considering asking him if he would do on-line training with me.

Mike has been my personal trainer for 6 months when I lived in Chicago. I enjoyed every single workout with him. He is very professional and targeted the workouts on my cycling objectives, analyzing my Garmin’s files to better know my level of fitness and my limits. He is also very fun to train with, which make workouts somehow easier. I was sad to quit Chicago but even more sad to quit working out with such a good personal trainer!

Michael is the best personal trainer in Portland, no contest. I've been working with him for nearly 3 months and I feel better, look better, and in general I have way more stamina. He pays a ton of attention to detail and I walk out of every session feeling good. He even helps me with my diet and gives feedback on every single meal throughout the day.
