Kim is fantastic as a personal trainer. She's got great people skills (important for someone like me who's relatively new to all things gym) and she does a wonderful job of calibrating workouts to challenge but not overwhelm. I'd definitely recommend working with her!

Update: still working out with Kim, increased to 2x/ week, and loving it. And I still think that MTN FIT might be one of the best kept secrets in Eugene--a small, clean gym with an amazing trainer who creates fun workouts. I've been training with Kim since March 2021, & her training has improved my fitness level 1000%. What I like about Kim & MTN Fit is that it's always encouraging & authentic--not fake. She always makes me believe I can do it, but has modifications if I can't :) I think her personal training is so great that my partner now joins me for weekly training sessions--which is actually a cool couples activity. When I leave after a workout, I'm tired, but I feel like I couldn't have gotten there without MTN fit and Kim.

It’s never too late to invest in yourself: your health, your fitness, and your spirit.
As I became more involved with hiking/climbing/running, I knew I’d benefit from working with a personal trainer. I was looking for something short term to boost myself back into a regular routine. Being new to Eugene, I started with a google search. I knew joining a standard gym wasn’t going to meet my need; I’ve had gym memberships that went unused. Instead, I looked for something on a smaller scale. Google pulled up a few different options and the one that jumped out at me was MTN Fit. 1. It’s not your standard drop-in gym. It’s small and independently owned, which to me means potential for personalized attention. And I’m all about supporting small local businesses. 2. It’s owned and operated by a woman. 3. The listed rates for personal training sessions and fitness classes were well below what others were charging. These reasons were enough to pull me in.
Within days I was set up with Kim for 12 personal training sessions. My goal was to build strength, endurance, and balance. During our weekly sessions, Kim worked me through the workout that I would then do on my own through the week. Little did I know when we started, that Kim’s personal training goes far beyond the 45-minute session once a week. Kim checked in with me through the week to see how I was doing; she was holding me accountable! The commitment she makes to her clients wasn’t lost on me. I knew I’d made the right choice with MTN Fit.
After my initial 12 training sessions, I began attending Kim’s Strong & Fit strength training classes. I’ve been attending 2-3 times a week for 6 months. There’s so much to love about these classes and MTN Fit. This isn’t your run of the mill gym or boot camp; these classes are small (often up to 8 people), fun, and always different. Did I mention hard? The workout you get in a 45-minute class in no joke. Kim challenges you to give more of yourself and test your limits as she takes you through a full body workout. Every workout can be adapted to fit individual levels – no one is held back or left behind. The best part, the part that keeps me going, is the dedication Kim has for each and every person she’s working with. Every class is welcoming and feels like a personalized training session.
Since working with Kim, I’ve run my first half-marathon with my second coming up, I’ve hiked more miles and climbed more mountains this summer that I thought possible. Not bad for getting back into this at 54. I can say without a doubt, being a part of MTN Fit has been the best investment, both physically and financially, I could have made for myself this year.

The University of Oregon CHAARG chapter had so much fun during our HIIT body workout put on by MTN Fit instructor Kim! She brought a lot of encouragement to this workout and was honestly amazing to work with. She constantly pushed us through tough workouts while correcting our form to provide the best workout possible:)

Personal training at Mtn fit has been one of the best decisions I have made this year! Kim is an excellent trainer. Im a complete beginner and sought training to reduce my chances of injury when im adventuring outdoors. Kim explains the exersizes in a way that I can easily understand, and is always ready with a modification if I need it. One of the most intimidating things about strength training on my own was worries about doing it correctly, injuring myself, and not knowing the correct pace to set. I’m so glad I can put those concerns safely in Kim’s hands. (I also hate being sweaty and she always make sure I have a fan on me!) The gym itself is clean, comfortable, and safe. Coming to the gym for the last several months has been a huge positive for my mental health!

Looking for a way to fit strenght training in? Mtn Fit is a great gym for small group <5-6, and personalized training. Averaging 1-2 classes per week over the past year helped me drop 20+ lbs., convert a lot of body fat to muscle, and drop 5 minutes off my half marthon time, at age 64... It is never too late! Kim is a knowlegable trainer and awesome motivator...check 🏔️ 💪 out.

Absolutely the best! I've tried many fitness programs and been to many gyms, MTN FIT has given me the best results by far. Trainers are super knowledgeable, and workouts are always challenging and fun. I love the small gym "family" vibe and the opportunity to do workouts at home via Zoom. Lastly, the nutritional counseling has also helped with my success. So thankful for MTN FIT!

I come here primarily because it feels safe. but It’s also a great place to get in shape. Kim is a first rate trainer. She has helped me with running specific strength training and one of my son’s with strength and conditioning. She is always prepared and full of positive energy. She designs unique work outs and they’re always challenging and never boring. If you’re serious about getting Mountain Fit this is the place to be.

Extremely welcoming gym with friendly, knowledgeable trainers.This is the first gym I've ever been excited to go to. The owner Kim is so easy to work with and does a great job of understanding your goals and current abilities. I've mostly attended Fit Camp, because of scheduling reasons. I started at the former FitnessLink and followed the business over when it relocated. Owner Kim Russell is punctual, personable, cheerful, caring, and energetic. There is a great variety to her workouts, which are always challenging and sometimes diabolical. The space is well laid out, bright, well-equipped, and welcoming. Her enthusiasm and experience show through in every class she leads. I also enjoyed the one class I took with Jacqui, who's been trying to get me to go again. Someday, when the scheduling works out.

The instructors make this a very welcoming atmosphere and fun environment while still focusing on proper form. Perhaps the most fun part for me, though, is seeing my husband actually get excited about exercise! Super welcoming atmosphere and knowledgeable trainers. Small class sizes make for great community feel, and great personalized instruction. (Not to mention accountability- if you don’t show up you will be missed!) I love the broad age range and skill level present in each class, and the instructors do a great job adapting the workouts to fit all abilities. Every workout is different so you never get bored.
