I am 82 years ago and I worked with a trainer years ago. I am visiting my daughter for a month and she suggested I see if Matt would have space for me while I was in town. I am astonished to say that even with five sessions, my balance has improved, my knees feel stronger, and I feel invigorated. Thanks Matt. 10 stars!

My goal for working with Matt was increased flexibility and strength. With his support, I'm reaching those goals and exceeding what I expected. Matt understands how the human body works better than any physical therapist I've worked with, and tailors his workouts to your needs and abilities. That's important at 90! He pushes—oh, so gently. Never too much. He's a cheerleader in the best possible sense. With once a week sessions in Lake Oswego, my husband and I are improving our stamina and confidence in living the years in which it's so tempting just to sit around.

I began working out with Matt a year ago. I am 84 years old.
I spent most of my life with ample access to out-of-doors in SE Alaska as a whale researcher, living aboard a boat and then later in Canada where I hand-logged year round to heat a large home - I have led a physically-demanding life.
As life has it, I went through a series of dramatic changes in the last decade, some internally and some externally - from hernias to worn-out joints. A head-on collision two years ago affected my cervical vertebrae which now compress my spine reducing feeling in my lower body.
I acknowledge these changes and with Matt’s help (I see him four times a week) — I am inspired and I am happy. Matt has offered me a new view of my life. Exercise with him has improved my body and my mind. My time with Matt is something I look forward to every day. I feel eternally grateful for what he does for me.

Best instruction on body mechanics I’ve received. I feel safe in this environment. I’m not going to come away with aggravating my old injuries or adding any new injuries. The process is slow and deliberate. I’m 70 and starting to feel like I’m in my 50’s again. Thank you Matt!!

The year before I turned 60 I realized I was staring at my future as I watched my eighty year-old parents age. I can see what breaks down, gives out, causes pain, reduces mobility, frustrates, and makes us feel old. I made a commitment to find someone to help me maximize my body's ability to protect itself. The person I chose was Matt Del Garbino.
Matt’s approach to helping you gain strength and balance is methodical, studied, and thoughtful. I told him I had three goals: protect my back, protect my knees, and reduce my slumped posture. I am meeting and exceeding those goals and I feel eternally grateful for this. I feel grateful for having found someone who will take the time to help me build what I want in my life—now and in the future. I asked Matt how long his clients generally stay with him and he said some have been coming for over a decade and I decided . . . I will be one of those too.
Matt tracks everything, and the routine is varied. He is beside you, encouraging you, correcting your position and posture, reminding you to focus on the muscles you are asking to work, and suggesting you do 2-3 more than you think you can. I am learning about my mind-body connection. I am learning to trust in my abilities. When I feel weak, Matt says: “look at what you are doing - you have the strength” and this is true.
Matt’s knowledge about the body and how it works astounds me. This is not just a guy who likes to work out - though I know that is true too - Matt’s knowledge is on par with the physicians and physical therapists I have seen, only better, because Matt takes the time to work beside you. He is able to combat pain caused by injuries or weak muscles with targeted exercises that produce results within a short time. Where PTs have fallen short in my life, Matt has restored my faith.
The variety of exercises makes it fun. After a year and half of working with Matt three times a week, I have a basic sense of what the routine will be, yet every workout is a little different and I love this. I am getting stronger. I feel my power returning and as a woman in particular, this is significant. Thank you Matt.

Hugely happy with the time I've spent with Matt! I've only ever gone to the gym and done what I've seen other people doing and just trying to get the work out done. It is such a game changer when someone is demonstrating how to do a specific exercise and there counting so all you need to focus on is your set and breathing. Generally I've always just lifted as fast and hard as I can, but Matt showed me a new way of going at a slower steady pace which keeps me more in control. Super happy I got connected with Matt and would recommend seeing him if you're motivated to learn and want professional guidance.

I have been working with Matt for about a month and a half now and couldn't be more pleased. I'd never worked with a virtual trainer before and was dubious that the quality of the workout would be as good as in-person.
He very quickly proved to me that it is actually a great and efficient way to train. He is knowledgeable, always comes prepared and pays close attention to form. I highly recommend him if you're looking for someone to help you with your fitness goals.

Prior to starting Myhomefitnessplan, I had a hard time getting motivated to train on my own and would always find excuses! If I did work out, I would do the same machines each time and would easily get bored. Training with Matt at Myhomefitnessplan has changed that! Not only does he teach me new exercises, he also educates me on what muscles are being worked and why it is beneficial to me. Starting my day training with Matt sets me up for success mentally and physically. I have also noticed that on the days I do workout, I willingly crave healthier food choices, an obvious bonus! :D Thank you for showing me that I don’t need to workout for hours to get results, 30 minutes and a great nutrition and exercise program will do just the trick!

I signed up with Precision Nutrition Coaching through My Home Fitness Plan and Matt Del Garbino this past summer. The program is different than other workout plans or diets. It is more about the journey. You are not on any crazy detox or trying to force yourself to do some 30-day CrossFit challenge that you are not ready for (or even want to do). Instead it is about learning how your mind and body work together for a healthier and happier you.
You receive daily articles that only take about 5-10 minutes to review (or listen to the audio). They are short bursts of opportunities to do good for yourself each day. You will also have a daily action item called your Daily Habit. You will learn that starting slow with achievable goals such as a daily habit will allow you to see success and stick with this program. Matt is then there for you every step of the way (or will back off too if you want). He directs the plan to you and your personal style and the pace in which you want to work.
The articles are great. They really dig into the science behind nutrition and how it impacts our bodies and you also get some great nuggets about mindfulness and the Why behind getting strong and healthy. A big support for those who may struggle with motivation (that would be me). If you like, you can keep a daily journal and record your stats/progress photos. Again, it is all up to how you want to manage your fitness. No pressure, which I really liked. My coach, Matt, was always available with feedback on my journal, he was there to hold me accountable, and available to just answer a quick question.
Matt has a fabulous home based gym to supplement your nutrition training but since I am not local, he provided me with exercises that I can do on my own. It is easy and it works!

My Home Fitness Plan has been great for me. Even though we’re on opposite sides of the country I still get the personalized plan creation, care, and monitoring I would get in a local gym. The plans are easy to follow and fit well into my life schedule. I really enjoy using the app fitness tracker as that helps remind me of what I’ve accomplished and what’s coming next.
