The gymnastics coaches all seem really good and nice; however, there is a SERIOUS problem with space here for anyone with the kiddos to sit. Apparently no one cares? Outside of the summer, the gym runs all classes at the same time and parking is difficult and sitting inside is even harder. The fact that parents are rude and don’t make any room for people to sit (but have plenty of water bottle space) is an added issue. NAAG… use some of alllllll your $$$$ to buy a bigger building to accommodate parents spending a ton .. so they have somewhere to observe the participants. Some people only come with one kid (so the big families that take up the one bench for over an hour is an issue. Geez ..🙄 … I wish someone that works here would post signs to ask people to eat all their snacks in the lobby (for allergy reasons) and I wish someone that works here would post a sign telling these parents to set their metal
Water bottles on the floor so that they aren’t constantly hitting the bench that EVERYONE is waiting on! I wish someone that works here would tell all the kids walking and sitting in handrails to get off of it… I wish someone that works here would maybe let all these people know that if they come every single class with extra kids (not in classes) and both grandparents and both parents then it may make it to where one disabled mom who can’t drive herself may have nowhere to sit (when she can’t stand) because everyone comes to every class and NAAG won’t provide more space for everyone!!! Adults are so oblivious here & the front desk lady is always rude and unhelpful.

Anyone off the street can come in regardless if you told them they can't, not even if you rented it for a party, they can come in and join you. as far as epd is concerned this is a public place. As far as the employee is concerned, they have to call their boss first and if they can't get a hold of said boss you're out of luck. Take your money somewhere else that actually manages their business.

Edit: to follow up in response to the owner, said person was not invited to either party and did not have an invitation and was stopped at the door before entering but entered after trying to find employee.
Both parties were 1 family.
Straight from EPD, this is a public establishment and anyone can come in and can only be removed by the owner of the property, not an employee.

We've been taking our toddler to gymnastics here for over six months now, and we have been very impressed. The program is organized and age appropriate. They clearly know what they are doing. We've loved each of the coaches: KJ, JoJo, and Megan. I've had multiple family members take our toddler and each of them have reported a great experience. My dad, as a former gymnastics coach, was very impressed by the equipment and skills taught.

We couldn’t be happier with our experience at the National Academy of Artistic Gymnastics! From open gyms to summer camps, every interaction with this incredible team has exceeded our expectations. The professionalism and expertise of the staff are unmatched—but what truly sets them apart is their emotional intelligence and ability to connect with kids and teens of all ages.

The coaches create a supportive, encouraging environment where children thrive not only physically but also emotionally. They understand how to meet each child where they are developmentally and help them grow with confidence and joy.

This place feels like a cornerstone of the community. We’re beyond excited for our children to start classes this fall and continue their gymnastics journey surrounded by such dedicated, knowledgeable, and inspiring role models. The foundation they’re building here will benefit them in every physical activity and sport to come. Grateful to be part of the NAAG family!

Oct 2024 update:
After changing my review because of an issue, they immediately responded and solved the issue. Love that they listen!

Editing review from 5 stars to 3 stars.
I've been going to both Tuesday & Thursday open gyms for preschool ages. Every time a bigger 7+ year old class is in the gym at the same time and it is completely unsafe. This time takes the cake when kids are running back and fourth during a game and my 1.5yr old son can't safely cross the gym to play. This is so unacceptable. I'm very frustrated that I'm paying for open gym that they're very strict is only for preschool ages, yet I'm having to keep my child from crossing the gym for fear of him getting hurt after a bigger kid already tried stepping on the hula hoop he was playing with and almost hurting him. Very upset with this dynamic. I love coming here and now I'm considering not coming anymore.

Absolutely love this place! My son is 1.5yrs and he has so much fun! Instructors are awesome! We go to the open gym times, trialed a wiggle worm class and he just wasn't quite ready for all the stretching and prep beforehand, but we'll be doing those when he gets a little bit more understanding of what's going on! Great facility, clean, child proofed really well!

We did a trial class and then enrolled in a morning Gymbug class for our three year old. When we did the trial, the class was combined with a toddler parent & me class, which was extremely chaotic. Our three year old was basically being pushed out of the way by all the parents, and spent majority of the class waiting around as the littles did their group with no assistance from the coach. When I asked about this, I was told the Gymbug class was small so they combined it, but that they could split it like it's actually intended to be, since we wanted a more independent and age appropriate class. Upon that confirmation and promise that they would run the classes as intended, we enrolled. After only one week, we showed up and the class was combined again - and the girl said that "a coach just didn't show up this morning" (david) so there was nothing they could do. Again, a very large baby class with all the parents so the three older kids were shoved aside until the coach finally showed up and my husband helped him. There was no real assistance with the Gymbugs and the class was extremely disorganized leaving the kids to basically have free play all over, as the toddler parents were also in all of the areas with the littles. (no hate on that, the parent and me class is it's own great thing that should be aside from older kids) I got a refund and we have since explored other gyms, but it was super disappointing after going through the enrollment, being assured classes are legit and that we wouldn't have to have our child fight off parents to do activities, and then being told sorry, what can we do. I am not sure if there is a lack of care or lack of coaches, but we were pretty bummed with our experience.

NAAG has been a local institution for over 50 years, and its co-founder is a three-time Olympian and legendary international judge and choreographer. I competed for the Academy as a youngster and now my daughter takes rec classes. The coaching community there is made up of gymnastics lovers of all ages, all of whom spent much of their own lives training, competing or learning the art of coaching. The environment can look chaotic during peak times — what giant room full of kids isn’t? — but the coaches are so committed to helping the kids be the best version of themselves. Gymnastics has become such a positive and empowering sport in recent years and NAAG has always been committed to this. For so many kids in this community NAAG is a second home — and for not a few adults such as myself too. The coaching staff is also deeply committed to professional development and is there is a change you’d like to see, just ask at the desk and you will have the ear of someone who really sees you and cares about your child. Do your research before you choose a gymnastics program for your kid and know what to expect (a lot of sensory overload etc!) and you will have a great experience here.

Coaching is inconsistent with many not knowing how to work with children or help them learn. Program is disorganized and space is way too small for the amount of kids and classes.

We have been sending our girls here for the last few years and can’t recommend it enough. In addition to learning gymnastics in a positive environment the coaches are amazing. You can tell that they are really passionate about what they do and care about the kids in their classes. The coaches who teach and own it are amazing!

We have been going to NAAG for 3 years now and have absolutely loved it! The coaches are kind, attentive and make classes super fun! One of my daughters is very outgoing and the other much more shy and timid… both have grown and excelled during their time here! The coaches give individualized attention and really do care about their students! I also have a little guy who just turned 15 months… while some places can become annoyed with the energy littles bring…the staff at this gym are extremely family oriented and welcoming! I truly appreciate how caring they are and the relationships they build with their students/parents!

I never write reviews online but this was a TERRIBLE experience! Took my son to what was supposed to be his trial class today. He was neither greeted nor introduced to the instructor. Instead he was thrown into a class with kids who were clearly older and more skilled. The instructor spent the entire time chatting with the few older girls in the class and never once spoke to my son or showed him a single thing (same with the other little boy in the class, incidentally). Literally zero interaction. They divided the class into two groups and the instructor pointed around to different bar positions and quickly called out what the kids were supposed to be doing at each one. No demonstration, no explanation. It was completely bizarre. She also looked utterly bored and disinterested in being there.

My son did his best and tried to climb onto a bar by himself but as this was his first class ever AND because he received NO help or instruction he had no idea what to do. After watching him struggle for a few minutes, I called out to the instructor that he was new and needed help. Maybe she just didn’t realize he was new? Nope! She made direct eye contact, ignored me and continued to ignore him. After another few minutes my son sat down on a mat, frustrated and confused and started to cry. The instructor, not surprisingly, continued to ignore him. Totally checked out.

I went onto the mats and tried to help him but at that point he was just done. We left a mere 25 minutes in.

I’m in early childhood education and was floored by how badly this class was run. I don’t know if it’s a training issue or laziness or what. My kid was super excited to try gymnastics and a little nervous too - this was a negative enough experience I’m not sure we’ll be able to convince him to go back.

I will say that the front office staff was very helpful and immediately refunded the class. Kudos to the woman at the front desk who handled it with grace and professionalism despite how angry I was. A director is supposed to call me on Monday so perhaps there’s a resolution to be had here. Until then, I remained shocked at what an abysmal experience this was.

I will NEVER go here again. I attempted to bring my autistic toddler to wiggleworms class to get her involved in an activity and the teacher showed up late laughing about it, never asked about my daughter being a new student or about her personally at all. When she became overwhelmed by the loud music and teachers talking over top of it, she started crying and screaming. The teacher then told all the other students to scream as well, again instead of asking if everything was ok. I was furious. After the front office saw her breakdown, I asked for a refund in tears and was told refunds aren't normal and we can use it as a credit for future classes or merchandise. So there goes $82. DO NOT RECOMMEND

I have a kid in the Wiggle Worm program. Everything about the class is fantastic, but the kids trampoline area desperately needs stairs or a ramp. The area is roughly 3.5 feet above ground level and the only way to get up or down is via squishy spotting blocks. If you pick the wrong one while getting off you can be set completely off balance as you sink and injure yourself.

The coaches work so well with the kiddos!

However, I never look forward to interacting with the receptionist at the front desk.

Pretty unfriendly and short with her answers. In a way, she is the first interaction potential and current gym goers’ adults have and it’s not a good one.

It would be beneficial to NAAG to work on customer skills with her to greet those coming in occasionally, more friendly interaction with parents, etc.

I'm not sure how I feel about this place, I had a party here for my son but nobody ended up showing. So they gave me some free gym classes because they felt bad, which was very nice. Unfortunately I know the classes run pretty high in price and I was going to continue to pay for future classes, but every instructor iv met for the gym bug class has had very little patience and they always have an attitude if the kids dont do what they want. Mind you these are three year olds. I understand having to watch 8-12 kids at that age is hard, but also your job. I'm not very pleased. Iv seen eye rolling and close enough to call aggressive grabbing of not only my child but other children when not where they are suppose to be.

Edited to reflect the kind response of the staff. We've had varied experiences here at many bday parties, and the staff really is usually great. I think the experience could be improved by staff giving very clear expectations to the children and parents who attend birthday parties. Thank you!

I have had and attended multiple children's birthday parties here. Every time I have left, my children are happily sweaty and worn out. It is a great place to hold a birthday. During the winter they keep it a little cooler, sometimes too cold for the parents hosting the birthday party. Two birthday parties can be held here, one on the "pirate ship" side and the other in the gymnastics area, Halfway through the scheduled time, they switch. Staff are very interactive with the kids on the gymnastic side they do fun activities that my kids have always seem to enjoy.

Our daughter took gymnastics classes here for about a year and she and I loved it! The coaches are all so talented and friendly. We had to take her out for the last year because we moved but as soon as we are back in Eugene she will be going back there. Definitely recommend to all parents.

We've been to several open gyms at other gymnastics places around town and this one is by far the best and has top notch service! One of the coaches takes time to instruct the kids and has a little warm up for them. Not too mention the variety of activities they are able to participate in. My daughter will be starting up class there this summer after dance :)
