About the Club

NW Core Balance Pilates and Fitness is a quiet, supportive Pilates studio and personal training gym in Tualatin, OR. We offer Pilates private sessions and small group equipment classes (3–7 clients) designed to improve strength, posture, and flexibility. Our personal weight training programs are tailored exclusively for women, with private sessions that focus on building confidence, bone density, and long-term strength in a low-key, welcoming environment.

Had my first ever pilates session here! It was a wonderful experience. As a beginner, I really appreciated instructor Tiffany for her patience, care, and positive energy. She provided very clear instructions, demonstrated a wide range of knowledge, and accomodated/adapted exercises accordingly. It was challenging yet relaxing; my body simultaneously felt stronger and meditated afterwards. The atmosphere at this studio also felt so zen, safe, and judgement-free. I highly recommend!

All of the instructors here are amazing! They are so knowledgeable and kind and really make an effort to make classes challenging and fun. Every class is such a great, full-body workout with a lot of variety. The time flies by and I feel amazing after each class. I have gotten so much stronger from training here. The studio is very inviting and not intimidating. Instructors can make class accessible for you whatever your physical abilities are. This is your place for classical Pilates!

I love NW Core Balance! The studio is quiet, welcoming and never intimidating. I had never tried reformer pilates so I was pleased to learn there is an introductory class where you have one-on-one help to learn the machine and feel ready for your first group class. I feel stronger and my posture had improved greatly, especially since I work at a desk all day. Highly recommend to any woman looking to feel empowered and build lifelong strength at any age!

If you're undecided to try Pilates, DO IT! I have noticed a positive change in my flexibility and core strength. The change is gradual so it's easy to stick with the classes. The class schedule is easy to fit into my calendar, even when I travel for my job. So glad I took that first step.

NW Core Balance is the best. I have been taking classes for about 1.5 years. I originally started because of a back pain issue. My physical therapists recommended pilates to help strengthen my core and reduce my back pain. I have definitely seen improvement in my back pain and overall strength level. My core is much stronger as well as my entire body. I highly recommend trying pilates at NW Core Balance! Shelley and Ellie are fabulous!

I found this place through a friend of mine. She had been going for a couple of months. She said Jan you need to at least come try this out with me. So I decided to. Wow Pilates has changed my life. I have been going for almost 3 years. I have never felt better or stronger. The Instructor's are amazing knowledgeable and so professional. I started with NW Core Balance nine months ago. Shelley is an amazing instructor. Professional and knowledgeable; patient and encouraging. I had never tried reformer Pilates prior to NW Core Balance, but now I hate to miss a class because I enjoy it so much. It is amazing how much better shape I am in than when I started. I am both strong and flexible. And after taking a few classes elsewhere while I was on vacation, I have come to appreciate how special the studio really is. The equipment is top notch and the studio space is always clean and comfortable. I feel fortunate to have found this studio when I did.

This place is really top notch! The owner, Shelley, cares so much about the quality services she and her coaches provide. I don't know how she does it, but she knows every single person and their unique abilities/needs/injuries and fine tuned their workout to a "t"! I appreciate the very small class size, you are able to get plenty of personal help if you need it. But, they offer classes for all abilities (even first timers to Pilates like me!). Highly recommend. Only down sides: limited parking and limited space. You have to contact early and sign up for classes as they fill quickly and the space in each class is limited. But again, this intimate feeling is what delivers such personalized care. I'd give ten stars if that was an option!

Update!! Now that I've been going 2-3x a week for the past few months I decided to measure myself ~ and to my jaw-dropping surprise, I've lost 5.5 inches in the past 45 days only by doing Pilates! This place is totally the real deal. Thank you Shelley!!

Can I just say, "I am addicted"! I never thought I would say that about any type of exercise but I guess, "never say never". I love everything about northwest core balance. Shelly and the other two Instructors know the intricacies of the body so well and how it moves. They provide tailored feedback to each individual, keeping in mind weaknesses and injuries. Workouts have been fun, challenging, and versatile. I feel stronger after each one. I have been attending classes for I believe 6 months now. I absolutely love it, it is my happy hour.

I came to NW Core Balance as way to strengthen my core for my triathlon racing. In a short amount of time I have been able to see improved flexibility in my shoulders for swimming and core strength for my cycling. My upper body is a lot more still when riding, no more bouncing around in the saddle when standing!!
