I think for the price and the services offered.It's a good buy. Did you charge you like a fifty dollar yearly fee?But other than that, it's fifteen dollars a month to the basic, and you know, have several machines worth using.I think my biggest complaint about it.Is that there's a lot more cardio access than machines?But even then, the best workaround is just to come.When they're not busy

Over the summer, I went in to pause my account, and a staff member told me it was successfully paused and that I wouldn’t be charged anymore. However, when I went in today around 5 PM, the front desk worker was extremely unhelpful and had a poor attitude. They told me that pausing accounts isn’t allowed and is “against policy,” which completely contradicts what I was told earlier.

I’ve now been charged for months without my knowledge because of misinformation from their staff. The lack of communication and customer service is really disappointing, I was just trying to go to the gym, not deal with billing issues caused by staff errors.

This place has really gone downhill off the last couple of months. To start, its not open 24 hours which is a huge downside for tons of people with unconventional schedules or people who just want to go at less busy times, isn't planet fitness known to be 24 hours?? Also, the machines are broken for a pretty long time before they are fixed. I notice a bunch of the cables on the cable towers feel super slow like they havent been oiled or maintained properly. This is recurring problem for other machines as well. Positively, the place is usually pretty clean and the staff are nice (though a bunch of their closers seem to distract each other and not really do their job, but i dont care)

One of my favorite Planets I’ve ever been to! The staff is always friendly, though sometimes they lack ambition when cleaning tanning booths. That being said I’d recommend this gym to anyone! It has such an open atmosphere and there are many kind people. I especially recommend it if the staff worker ‘Austin’ is in! He was super enthusiastic and actively invited me back while he cleaned my booth today(5/28 @5pm)! The transparency was awesome!

Pretty large which is amazing and the staff is great EXCEPT the seemingly new manager? He is shorter and a little bigger, with a lot of a facial hair. He is grumpy and is very serious. Makes it much harder to enjoy coming in. Not only that, he is also very rude. He needs to work on his tone and expressions.

Decent gym. The only one I’ve been to that isn’t 24/7. Just got kicked out in the middle of my workout at 7pm. Other than that, worth it.

Update: Hours aside, can’t escape the groups of college kids that take turns for hours on every single bench and squat rack. No matter what time I go, it’s never early enough to take 15 minutes on a bench or rack before I’m done and 4 people can share it for 3 hours. Cancelled membership. Get more benches! This wouldn’t even be an issue if the gym was 24/7. Then I could go when I actually have time and when the handful of benches aren’t being used.

Today at the gym, we had a negative experience when a staff member aggressively approached us because my son wasn’t wearing the proper gym shoes. I felt her behavior was hostile and uncalled for. If this type of treatment continues, we will be forced to cancel all three gym memberships.
We understand the importance of following gym policies, but we felt the approach taken was unnecessary and could have been handled more respectfully. We value a positive environment and hope this can be resolved amicably. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

As I sit here waiting to use the hybrid tanning bed waiting patiently and was told it would be about 7mins, it’s been over 20 mins and everyone at the counter rather just chat with each other then do their jobs and wipe down tanning beds and let customers know that they can go back.. very unprofessional kids just there to collect a paycheck

Serious maintenance needed! At least 15 pieces of cardio equipment are broken despite notice to management. The HVAC air filtration system is DISGUSTING! The air return vents are covered in a layer of dust, pollen, etc. so thick that they look like they are covered in snow. Management has not serviced the HVAC system in years. If you have asthma, allergies, a weak immune system, or want to avoid the flu-beware of this facility.

Nice place for a good workout. Crowd meter on app helps you know how busy it currently is. Clean equipment. Staff available for help upon request. Each piece of equipment has a QR code if you don't know how to operate that equipment properly.

I was just visiting and decided to drop by for a quick workout and i have to say before even entering the exterior design of the building is super nice. When you enter the staff is welcoming and the interior of the building is very nice as well. I loved that they have updated equipment and the bathrooms/locker rooms are really clean and that there’s space big enough for everyone to have their own space. Compared to my current home PF this place is very impressive i will be back again!

During my recent visit to the gym today, I followed my usual routine, scanning my membership and proceeding to the back for stretches. However, upon returning to the front desk to utilize the massage chair, I was informed that there was an issue with my account, indicating a balance due. I approached the front desk associate to resolve the matter, but she responded by repeatedly yelling at me and demanding immediate payment of the overdue balance. Despite my calm demeanor and explanation that I had no intention of neglecting payment, she maintained a cold and dismissive tone. I emphasized that I would settle the payment that day and expressed my concern that if I were to continue my membership, I would face future interactions with staff in a similar manner. I believe that there is a more effective way to communicate potential issues, and I am hesitant to continue my membership if I am treated in a dismissive and aggressive manner. I expect a safe and respectful environment, particularly when addressing clerical matters. The person working last night first name starts with an L. When I Planet Fitness back later on to try to address the concerns I have, I was told that my membership would be cancelled because in her eyes I wasn't kind and courteous. I hope that I can get ahold of a manager before I decide if it's a good idea or not to pay the balance that is due. Dealing with here and unnecessarily getting yelled at and talked down to in front of people was totally uncalled for.

I've had a very poor experience with Planet Fitness due to billing issues, I had lost my job a while ago and was unable to make payments and was given a few months Grace time and I came in recently to find out that my old account has gone to collections and so I made a new one just to be turned around and told that I could not use the gym facilities until the overdue balance that is in collections is paid off youtube, I had expressed that I would be able to pay in a couple of weeks and was trying to come back to work out again until I can pay off that overdue bill and was told that that was not going to be possible and that I could not come back to the gym until my bill was paid off. Planet Fitness is a joke I most likely will not be coming back ever again because of this

Why are you guys not 24 hours and the membership price is the same? Every other planet fitness in Oregon is 24 hours and the membership price is the same? Covid was the original reason for cutting back hours however we’re past that so we should go back to 24 hours right? If not our membership prices should be reduced because we’re not getting the same accessibility as everyone else going to other planet fitness’s. When I want to get a late night workout in I’m forced to travel to another city for the gym. It is not fair to the customer to charge the same price with less services. Please fix your hours or reduce the cost of membership in Corvallis.

I was accidentally charged an annual fee after changing my membership. When I asked about it, they said they would reimburse me. It has been well over a month with me emailing and speaking in person to the staff but still no reimbursement.
Everyone I have spoken with has tried to be helpful but unable to just reimburse me. This is potentially a frustrating gym to go to.

Canceled my membership due to transportation issues, get a 50 dollar fee a few days later. After being promised a refund MULTIPLE times in a two week period and getting stalled, ignored, and flat out lied to, the manager finally gets ahold of me to say that they aren't refunding it because apparently I'd have to cancel before the 25th to avoid the 2 month fee. I signed up on the 11th of July, was told I need to cancel 5 days before the 2 month period ended, i thought that would be the 6th of September. I canceled on the 30th of August. Was planning to go back when my transportation issues were solved, but ef that. I'll go to albany everyday for my workouts and physical therapy before I set foot in here. This was scummy and effed up. If I could rate zero stars I would.

Thorough incompetence. When joining, I asked explicitly if my son could work out with me as my guest. He was 11, and I clearly conveyed that, because most facilities don’t allow pre-teens. As long as I was with him at all times, they told me it was fine. They seemed excited for him to be there. And this was the activity he wanted to do with me, so I joined. For many MONTHS, we attended together with no issues or questions. Yesterday, suddenly, that’s always been the rule, and he can’t come back for a year when he turns 13.

So I said I wanted to cancel and get a refund for time left in the month. I was told they don’t do refunds (fine whatever), but I could use the membership for another week when it ran out. I checked my app when I got home, and I no longer had a membership on my app. The person claiming to know the rules so well misinformed me.

I’d leave one star, but the membership is relatively inexpensive, and my son and I did enjoy the facilities. And this is the type of gym where you mostly just need staff to watch you check in and turn on the massage bed stuff. You get what you pay for. And also, incompetence from the staff is a product of incompetence and/or mismanagement in leadership.

I would give it 5 stars but their air conditioning hasn’t been working and it’s so hot and humid, my arms stick to the message chairs, and my glasses fog up. The heat index is so high, it feels like Miami in August! I will have to put my membership on hold until the weather cools off, or they restore the air conditioning. Otherwise fine. I will be rejoining the Timberhill for the rest of the summer.

This is a great gym! The staff is always super friendly and from my experience all of the equipment has been really clean. The bathrooms and changing rooms are also very clean. It seems like a lot of the other members also intentionally wipe down equipment after they've used it and people are very polite.

Gym exercise areas are often dirty except foyer & restrooms. Tanning area is hit or miss if it's clean. Other PF GYM locations prioritize washing all equipment ( every inch) down regularly (in frt of customers in a zoning fashion throughout day) however this gym "NEVER" DOES. I clean equipment from top to bottom, sides & everywhere after my use bc i know its the only cleaning it gets. Never seen so much dirt in equipment cracks like this gym or under equipment. Ceiling filter hasn't been cleaned in 2.5 yrs despite comments to mgmt from guests. The employees at Corvallis are nice & helpfull though. Gym is cleaner when female employees are on duty vs male but all are nice staff. Mgmt is the problem, he doesnt prioritize hrs needed for a staff to clean so employees that are there dont focus on it vs like other gyms do. Gotta say, I do drive a longer distance to go to a cleaner gym like PF Salem location on Commercial. Wow Salem "really cleans" all day. I sure hope the Corvallis male Mgr doesn't work or manage the new upcoming Albany gym, would be such A bummer if it's run the same dirty way. I go to a lot of Planet Fitness gyms in travel & none are run like this.

planet fitness really is going downhill. The toilets are covered in toilet paper/nasty and the showers….. are so nasty. No one ever cleans the mold and now blood?!?! This has been here for days!!!! How has a worker not realized this and cleaned it? You need to hire better employees because this is awful. Don’t reply with the “please let an employee know.” I shouldn’t have to tell your employees how to do their job. The mold has yet to be cleaned after months of me coming here. I’ve been showering every time I come here and not once have the showers been cleaned. The shower curtains are covered in white mold. I checked them all to see which one I should go into, and come to find out every single one is covered. The seat in the handy cap has pink mold all over it too 🤢 is there no rules about cleaning the showers? Because every single week/day I’ve come here, they’ve looked the exact same. I definitely won’t stop coming here because it’s the cheapest gym around, but this is kind of gross…. I saw a previous review about the mold too. Someone shouldn’t have to complain to the mangers about the mold for it to be cleaned. It should be a daily (at least every other day) thing to clean the showers. It’s been almost a month and I’ve not once seen them cleaned. The employees are usually standing up front talking…. I suggest they start cleaning the bathroom and showers. Speaking of the bathrooms, the toilets are constantly clogged and covered in toilet paper too. At one point only one stall was useable/clean while everyone was up front talking.

Decent gym for having a reasonable monthly rate. If the rate ever increases, I will probably cancel my membership and join a gym that has more flexible hours because it closes at 7 pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Clientele are usually respectful with a handful neglecting to wipe down the equipment. There are the typical weight lifters that slam the weights down in between reps. If you aren't strong enough to lower the weights correctly, decrease the pounds.

My favorite gym experience w/ 3 years of being here; the equipment is clean and new, and staff are helpful. The management takes recommendations and feedback seriously and works hard to keep the place running well. I think some of the standardized corporate equipment design could be modernized / improved, but it currently works overall to accommodate most people. A super well run organization.

I’d give this place 4 1/2 stars if I could, because it’s a great gym, but it not being 24 hours makes it not worth a full five stars for me. Considering the other Planet Fitness’s in the Willamette Valley are 24 hours and this one is the only one that isn’t, and I get off of work an hour before it closes. It would just be more convenient if it were 24 hours, not just for me but I bet for others as well. It would also make this gym an even bigger competitor in this area, especially given the very reasonable membership prices. Other than that I have no gripes, but I would consider, owners, changing the hours either to 24 hours OR if more agreeable, 11:45 - midnight. Besides that, great gym and staff, very clean and a positive atmosphere.

Even though it's vastly advertised online and on PF website, there's actually no Free Day Pass on this location! This was puzzling and disappointing to me because as a Black Card member, I was trying to show the gym to some friends to talk them into joining. I guess they won't, after all.
I understand this franchise is rather limited on work-out machinery and amenities, but at least it appears okayish at a beginner's level or just to maintain what's already built.
I mean, no one was asking for a freebie. We were just merely following what is falsely advertised online. That's all.

Everything's great until they stop letting guests go in the massage rooms. There's only two membership things and if you do the $10 you can't do the massage tables and if you do the $23.99 one only one of you can do it. The one thing I really liked about planet fitness is that me and my daughter could split the fee. I have breast cancer and I am trying to strengthen up my muscles cuz I lost a lot of my muscles going through cancer for The last 5 years. And the massage table made all the difference to me. I can't afford right now to pay the $23.99 or I would. You should think about changing the rules of that because I needed that massage after working out and you guys let me do it all the time and then one day you said no. Just thought I would let you know how I feel about that whole situation. Thanks

I just started working out at this gym mainly because because of its reasonable membership fees which also has great perks that come with it too. Another reason I chose this gym is because of its no judgement policy's which should be the case for all gyms anywhere. I agree that people should feel comfortable going to gyms and not have to feel like they are competing with others or feel embarrassed if they fail. I'm just speaking from experience. Anywho the first thing that I noticed walking in on my first day is how big it is on the inside which they have wide selections of work out equipments to use up which is great because the focus should be on full body works. The staff here seems friendly and are on top of maintaining a clean gym. This is only my first month and so far I am really impressed with this gym.

The gym itself is great. It was built that way. But the staff being small and opening hours being restricted still, it can make or break someones day when members can't make it during the set gym hours or when something like today happens and a staff member is late for more than 30 minutes. Not exactly the first time someone has failed too open doors on time either. People will be late. No one is upset with that. I'm only leaving my review here because I'm hoping more people will be encouraged to complain about the operating hours and maybe we can get those adjusted for those of us that would like to come in earlier or at least if someone is going to be late opening it still give members a chance to put in a morning workout during the only free time they have during business hours. I get it, "y'all need more foot traffic" but that seems hard to accomplish with the very limited operating hours.

Do not join. They will steal your money. I moved and tried to use my account they said it had expired so I needed a new one, turns out they were double dipping and no one is responsible because they are franchised out. “Oh that’s a different planet fitness, we can’t refund your money even though we lied and said you needed a new account”. They make it impossible to cancel and random maintenance fees stack up. Still paying for this gym. So far they’ve cost me over a grand. Don’t join.

Up date Our first-timers great people and clean. Spaces nice however we canceled out members ship in a letter on the phone and went to confirm. Cancel in April in letter payed April and may. Overall what you would expect for a gym that costs $10 a month. One major complaint is that they either don’t turn on the AC or do not have functioning AC so it can easily exceed 80 degrees inside during the summer.

I was still being charged the monthly membership even after they closed from COVID. When I addressed this issue with PF after they reopened, they had no resolution. Their manager had no resolution other than "that's weird." Fed up with no solution, I tried cancelling my membership. They wouldn't let me since I had an "overdue balance" from when they tried charging me while temporarily closed. I ended up closing my bank account since they wouldn't stop pulling money from my account. Save yourself the trouble and choose a different gym. Planet fitness is unprofessional, money hungry and doesn't care about their customers.

It's a fine gym. But so far everytime I've gone in. I l have scheduled a tanning bed. They say it'll be a few. Which is fine. I totally understand. But while I'm sitting there waiting two other people came in for a bed and they got it? I've been sitting here for the past 20 mins. And this isn't the first time this has happened. So annoying.

May not be 24 hours, may not have all of the equipment you need, but still one of the better gyms in town in my opinion. It's huge and well maintained. I don't think there's anything else in town that can match. It's well priced and the tanning and massage chairs are well worth the black card membership. It focuses too much on weight loss with treadmills though and not enough on muscle building in my opinion. If you're trying for size or strength, you're looked down on despite the inclusive 'meant for everyone atmosphere.' Finding a bench can be tough at times. It all depends on your goals.

Unfortunately this place is not as judgment free as they claim. And it is not enforced that people clean machines after use. Bathrooms regularly disgusting. Staff can’t keep up, either… not their fault… local branch management terrible. Not sure what Happened to the rest of my review- the larger issue- it disappeared, so I am reposting-but we had a terrible time attempting to deal w the local manager, Caleb on multiple occasions. . .but just one issue. Never would return calls and never sent calls to regional manager- who my daughter and I met when we first joined - he was lovely—but we could never get in touch with him through the local store. Caleb refuses to be considerate and is extremely judgmental in a “judgment free zone”! We had to pause our membership, along with multiple people… even once the club opened back up. Caleb promised we would not be charged for the next $40 member fee when - based on his behavior- we decided we would cancel our membership- Way before the one year mark—he said if we would not be charged and if we were charged he would ensure it was refunded. Neither of those things rang true and then conveniently, Caleb was no longer available. I spoke with Austin and asked if he was gone, because he was impossibly unavailable. Nope. Just not around, I was told. Never returned calls. All of the associates were amazing- hire someone who cares about your customers such as Carlos, Austin or any of the girls at the facility a year ago. They all were lovely with customers. We and many others have had difficulty with this man. He is the sole reason we do not go to that facility any more, which is sad because we LOVED to go there for the brief time we had gone, despite the issues with cleanliness - and we had never seen or heard Caleb before this…and frankly, after. We were really only able to go for 3 months during an almost one year time with Planet Fitness. We should have been refunded that $40 as Caleb promised and Caleb should not be there with his judgmental attitude. Things are tough for everyone- no one comes to the gym to be judged, though. Your constantly dirty bathrooms were the least of the issues… so it is curious to me that was the part left in of the original review…because at least I know the staff cared and tried to keep up. It would have been great if the manager would support where necessary- with staff and customers.

Update -2/7/22
Masks are required at all times in the gym. You are supposed to wipe down the equipment you use before and after although that is a 50/50 chance of being done. There is no more distancing on the cardio equipment and the locker rooms are open again.

Generally most people are aware and considerate of others. Given the time of year it is busier with new members.

During the COVID Reopening PF has clearly marked cardio machines to allow social distancing, they have sneeze guards at the front counter, employees wear masks, there are extra hand sanitizer stations and cleaning supplies available. We were told they hired a company to come in and deep clean regularly.

All of the machines are weight assisted, with no free weight options past 60 pounds. They don't have hex weight bars, free bar racks, or even boxes for jumps and elevated workouts. This is very much a gym for people working out because it's "good for them" as opposed to a gym where people workout because they "enjoy working out." From the perspective of a person who truly enjoys and has made fitness an important part of their life, I think this gym is subpar, I will probably change soon and feel held back due to the lack of free weights and vital weight lifting equipment.

If weight lifting, calisthenics or body building is your focus I'd suggest somewhere else. The mentality at this gym makes being a "gym rat" synonymous to a negative, "judgey" person who throws weights on the ground. There's a "clunk" alarm in the gym that sounds if someone is "releasing their weights too abruptly," judging or grunting. I think this is literally the biggest joke ever. I'm going to grunt when I lift heavy because sometimes I can't control it and sometimes grunting gives you the extra push/O2 you need to get the weight up. I let go of the weight when I'm done lifting it because I'm done holding it. It makes a loud sound when it hits the ground because I don't lift small and larger mass = loud sound, that's on logic. Get over it Planet Fitness.

you tried responding to this saying the alarm is, " meant to discourage weights purposefully being slammed or members grunting loudly to annoy others." Have you literally EVER asked someone their intention behind their "lifting sounds"? I'd be willing to put a lot of money on that fact that 9/10 times their grunt has literally NOTHING to do with anyone else, definitely wasn't to annoy fellow gym members and sounding an alarm after making an "ASSUMPTION" that their intention is to annoy literally IS judging.

Also, your staff are judgey as hell so...all in all congrats to the staff and owners that commit their time to manifesting hypocrisy, none of us appreciate you and I think I speak for a lot of us when I say we all wish your customer service team ACTUALLY knew how to service customers. But I cant help but think that ALL the bad review regarding “cancellation process” and “predatory business practice on Pandemic situation” is TRUE.
In short, After I became a member and use my membership for the first 2 months, it closed because of pandemic for a pretty long time and I DIDNT get any compensation or anything like that even though I cannot use the gym at all.
I didnt complain at all about that and let them eat my money just like that for a couple months, but then I had to move out from corvallis and totally forgot to cancel my membership.
After a YEAR of them continue charging me for my membership every month that I did NOT use at all (because I moved already), I called them and ask if I can cancel my membership before my next monthly payment, or if there is ANYTHING they can do to help me about this. But of course the answer is “no, there is nothing we can do, we can send you our agreement if you need it”; and I still have to go there to cancel my membership.
So…. Yea.. I don’t know, I literally told them that these bills choked me since I don’t use it anyway, and I did not even ask for any kind of refund from them; only a little help of the cancellation or ANY HELP

aaaaaaaand they still charge me for this month 🙂

So far, my experience had been mixed. The first time I came in nobody even acknowledged I was there and there were 3 people working behind the desk (2 on their phones). Now when I come in and sign in, most businesses say hello or welcome in, even a thank you. These people don’t even look at you, make sure it you signing in or anything. Then when you you leave… you guessed it not a thank you for coming in or have a good day. Kinda rude!!!

On the plus side, there are lots of weights and cardio machines to choose from. Although I think their noise meter is broke. A guy kept dropping his dumbbells yesterday sounding like thunder and shaking the floor (meter was quiet).

I will post again when I have been here a bit and see if anything has changed.

For some reason even though you can make an account over the phone you are required to go in in person or send a signed letter to cancel. I ended up closing the bank acount my pf acount charged and they still send me daily texts telling me to pay the balance even though I have called and tried to cancel the acount multiple times after moving away from corvallis. Why make it so hard to cancel unless you know your buisness is trash.?

I absolutely love this gym. I would recommend a black card membership for anybody. But that's mainly because I am a big fan of the massage chair and Tanning. I like to massage workout massage and then go into tan. I never have found a time of day that I have to wait for anything that I want to do while I'm there.

I was a regular patron at PF. I had to leave the area temporarily and forgot to cancel my membership in the mean time. I attempted to cancel over the phone but they won’t allow that. The only options are cancel in person or by mail. I’m not spending the money to send a letter when I should certainly be able to cancel free of charge. I’m also not flying there to cancel a gym membership. After blocking the charge to my bank account, they took the liberty of charging my credit card on file. When I asked to speak with a manager on the phone about some of this I was hung up on I highly recommend going elsewhere.

Update following PF response below:
The response is insulting. There wasn’t miscommunication. An employee intentionally ended the conversation without a word after I asked to speak with management. I have zero questions about the policy and nothing was unclear. I am not able to be there in person and refuse to spend money to cancel a membership that I should have zero issues canceling. Instead I have been on the phone with the club several times and treated poorly by employees. Also for others who may face this issue. I decided to block the charge from my bank and PF took the liberty of charging a credit card that I have never used to pay for this subscription but purchases at the club (bottled drinks etc). Be aware of this.
