Staff was rude when I first entered the gym to scan in. I said hello and was greeted with a disgusted stare by 2 female employees who just appeared bothered and didnt say anything back.

I just used their snobby attitude as fuel for my workout so I was unbothered. However, what did bother me was the fact that I left my $200 earbuds in the locker room, and by the time I realized it, I was 8 hrs south with no plans of going back as I was only passing through Grants Pass. I called and asked if they could find them which they did. I asked If they could please send them in the mail back to me, and I would pay for shipping and even pay the employee for their time.

They refused and I had to reach out to corporate who then immediately made them send them back to me and covered the shipping for the trouble.

Gym was pretty average for a planet fitness, with above average entitled employees/manager.

I strongly caution anyone thinking about joining Planet Fitness Grants Pass, OR. From my experience, the staff are consistently rude, dismissive, and unhelpful. Calls to the club often go unanswered, and when you do speak to someone, it feels like they don’t care at all about members’ questions or concerns.

I am no longer a member, and my account was sent to collections, yet no one at the local club or corporate office would tell me which collection agency is handling it. The lack of transparency and accountability is frustrating and unacceptable.

It’s clear that once you leave or stop paying, Planet Fitness no longer cares about you as a member — they are only interested in taking your money. Be extremely careful before signing a contract; they make it seem like a welcoming, professional gym, but in reality, once you’re out the door, good luck getting any help or honest answers.

I would not recommend this location to anyone who values basic respect, professionalism, and accountability.

I very much enjoy working out here; I find the majority of the staff specifically Ben the assistant manager, Big Ben, and Jeremiah all to be very professional and incredibly pleasant.

Update: The assistance manager and manager stood talking for several minutes while I struggled with the scan tag. When I asked for help the assistant manager literally walked over and stood in front of me but with his back turned still talking to the manager. The conversation was not work related. I had had 4 other such bad customer service experiences and I have to say I finally had just had it. I asked for him to please assist me and stop their conversation. He asked me what I had done wrong to make it so that the scan wouldn't work. That really boiled my blood. How do I know!? I told them the customer service I'd been consistently having there was like this. Very hit or miss. I expressed that I was terribly frustrated and not going to deal with it and so me and my sister left. When we got to the parking lot I called to speak to management knowing I would either have a good conversation or cancel my membership from the outcome. The man of this pair answered the phone. I asked him what was happening with the customer service there. He told me in no uncertain terms that if I didn't like it I could cancel my membership right from my phone. I was flabbergasted and said so. I asked to speak to his manager and guess who that was? The female of the pair! She answered the phone and I asked her if she thought they were doing well with customer service after I knew she had just heard him tell me to cancel my membership. She said yes and then she said, "Do you just want to fight?". I could not believe my ears. I asked for her name and her supervisors name and she hung up on me. I called back thinking we'd been disconnected and they just let the call ring. As the owner of small businesses I have a modicum of expectations when it comes to customer service. Don't you?
Update: after emails from customer service a voicemail was left by the regional manager while I was at work. I called back and left a message. Have never had a call returned which is another disappointment.

Be very careful when giving Planet Fitness access to your bank account. Read ALL the fine print.

Even after canceling my membership, I continued to be charged—twice. I was billed for two memberships, two sets of annual fees, and then hit with late fees and return fees after my bank declined the unexpected charges. Altho PF recharged my account repeatedly until the transaction was approved. And STILL charged extra fees. I provided proof that I had canceled and was overcharged, but they refused to issue a refund. Specifically for three account for my high school student that is allegedly free all summer. Apparently not.

It took multiple attempts to finally speak to a manager. When I did, I was told—word for word—that “we’re not responsible for your financial decisions.” This was after I explained how the unauthorized charges had taken away money I needed to buy groceries for my family. For charges I should not have been charged for memberships that are canceled. I've called and emailed to ensure of it multiple times.

No returned calls, no accountability, and absolutely no customer care. If you decide to sign up, watch your billing closely and know what you're getting into. I regret ever trusting this gym with my bank account. There's a reason that even when things claim to be free(or cheap) they still want your banking info.

As a regular I've almost always had a positive experience here. Staff is friendly and kind enough to greet you when you walk in and when you're on your way out. It gets a little packed during peak hours but it's always manageable. Plenty of parking available. Some of the teenagers that go have poor gym etiquette which is unfortunate. The cell service is a bit weak but the WiFi works fine for the most part. I'd recommend to anyone in Grants Pass because this is the best bang for your buck in town.

There's nothing wrong with this gym location if you don't mind having shorter men follow you around and take pictures of women when their backs are turned while doing squats. UPDATE: As you can see from Planet Fitness' response, they state they do not allow cut-offs... nowhere in their dress code policy online sites it state this. Again... appropriate action should've been at most, a ban at the specific club, not ALL of them. Ridiculous!!!!
If I could give 0 stars to this establishment, I would. 4 days ago, my son, who has been a member for several years and consistently going for a year, was at the GP Oregon location (normally he uses the medford facilities) and for the second time, was harassed about his gym attire.... specifically his shirt. After the first time he was "warned" about his shirt, (let me just state I have looked up their dress code, and it in no way violated that dress code) he was quick to apologize and tell the employee he would not wear that shirt again. It was not offensive at all. It was simply a t-shirt that had been altered by cutting out the arms and resembling more of a loose tank top. Fast forward to 4 days ago, and my son was again at the GP Oregon location. He had on another shirt, similar to the other one being that it was also a t-shirt that had been modified into a tank top. There was nothing offensive on the shirt, nor was it too "revealing... which is a whole other issue if that was, in fact, the employee's reasoning, as there are a large number of women working out in EXTREMELY revealing clothing, i.e., shorts, sports bras, tank tops, etc. The employee did not even have the courtesy to speak to him face to face. She had the audacity to call him while he was still in the parking lot and tell him that not only was he banned from her location, but ALL Planet Fitness locations! Seriously?!?!?! This is nothing more than an employee on a power trip. My son contacted the corporate office immediately. They said someone would get back to him in 3 days... it has been 4. It's no wonder that I've heard very little good about this fitness center. BEFORE RESPONDING WITH THE TYPICAL, "we're sorry to hear that you feel this way. Please reach out to blah blah blah." HE HAS! HIS CALL HAS NOT BEEN RETURNED BY BLAH BLAH BLAH

I just cancelled my membership. And they made it EASY, no shenanigans, no drama. I loved the staff, all good people. The equipment is plentiful and clean. The bathrooms were always and clean and well stocked. The other patrons were polite and d considerate. The massage hydro beds were my favorite. I even tried the stand up tanning bed, pretty cool. So, they wouldn't cancel my membership by phone since I moved out of the area. I was told it was my fault for not taking care of this before I left town. I'm sorry, but I was in the middle of a move and assumed that Planet Fitness was run by humans who could do human things. Like help a guy out on the phone. Nope! They wouldn't cancel by phone, yet, they did offer to transfer my account to a nearer facility so I could cancel it in person. This is what doesn't make any sense to me. They are willing to get on the computer and alter your membership but not cancel. Wouldn't canceling it be just as easy? Stupid. Very very stupid. They say they need written consent to cancel, but not to transfer or alter. What's the difference?

Clean, very reasonable prices. A few members complained that the showers have been very cold the last few months. They do offer basic shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Bring your own towel. Great gym for the most part, at least the gym area. Don't understand how the shower room is always so dirty and unkept though. I've grown tired of informing staff that their soaps are once again empty and have just resigned to always bringing my own. Really makes one wonder how good their cleaning practices are when every soap dispenser remains empty for days on end.
The heat control in one of the showers has been broken for at least 6 months now. The curtains are more often than not scummy on the inside (like the shower side hasn't been cleaned), and some of the curtains aren't even wide enough to close entirely so forget privacy (they look like they've been cut by a child with scissors). More than once I've had to deal with bandaids and other bodily discards left behind by other patrons and overlooked by staff. One of the main reasons we have a membership here is to use the shower facilities, so it's quite disheartening (and sometimes downright aggravating) to feel like my money isn't purchasing everything it's supposed to.

So to sum up, the gym is great. Equipment is well maintained and staff is very friendly - I just think they need to pay a little more attention to the state of their shower/locker area.

I love it here! The staff is very friendly and good at what they do. The gym has always been very clean. Van lifer here. Came for the showers only. They were very clean. I’ve been to lots of planet fitnesses and it’s rare, so it was a delightful surprise. Very well taken care of. If they clean their showers this well, I imagine the rest of the place is top notch too.

The people working the front desk are rude and completely useless. Zero customer service skills. Went in and told the girl at the front desk I’d never been in before but was thinking of joining. Wasn’t offered a tour or anything, just told to download the app. I asked if there was anyway to join without the app and another girl said I could go to their website. I’m standing inside the place of business, talking to two employees with computers in front of them but I’m told I need to go online and sign up myself?!? I ask if I could just sign up here in person and got eye rolls from the girls and one actually said “We can try and do it on the iPad but it takes a long time.”

Nice to have a place to workout at that is closer to home. I just wish they were 24 hrs like the one I used to go to before I moved here. It's frustrating not being able to workout when I work a lot of late nights. They are always closed when I try to get a workout in. Especially on the weekends.

Friendly and accommodating staff greet you with a smile when you check in. The restroom/changing room/locker room is sparkling clean and well stocked. Lots of machines with descriptions for proper use.

Came in to sign up and the two running the front desk were very rude and unprofessional. Started our experience listening to the girl make fun of a lady customer to her counterpart. We felt extremely uncomfortable. We wanted to ask a few questions before signing, but they both just pushed for us to use the app. They told us they didn't need to help us and that we can do it all ourselves at home and then we could come back once we were signed. They weren't open to answering our questions. We have chosen to find a gym elsewhere due to their poor customer service.
