I like the Planet fitness in McMinnville for it's clean areas both in workout area and bathrooms. I don’t know why with all the nice equipment and now free weights there are no bands for warming up before lifting. I have also been frustrated with people sitting on machines for 10 plus minutes listening to music and doing 6,7,8 sets with rest in-between. Sometimes with only one machine for that particular exercise. Trust me the people who are spending that much time on one machine do not know what they are doing. Very few athletes will ever do 8 sets of one lift and these are not athletes. You may be thinking what does he know? Former high school and college All American, two hall of fame inductions, Nation Champion, National past record holder, currently hold 45 year old College record and Olympic training at the Colorado Springs training center for the Decathlon. Oh by the way operated fitness center for 30 years as my occupation.

I’m traveling in Oregon. Staying fit is imperative to me. I tried to join this place. They are awful!
I belong to Crunch in Boulder. And I love These gyms so much!
However there are no Crunch gyms around. I figured I stop by and find out about PF. memberships. Of course it was a complete waste of time!

Planet Fitness offers a day pass. Free. But it will cost you time!!! So not worth it. For a day!! (I got a week free at Crunch, no hoops to jump!)

After all the time spend trying to get this pass, I was informed that only a few Pf honor this promotion. A day pass!!!! One day. And the club doesn’t honor it. Not in this areas. A total joke and waste of time!!!

Like the gym. Don't like the hours on the weekends. Some people like to work out on the weekends and have work schedules that conflict with the hours. I suggest staying open later than 7. Makes it difficult to work out when hours are restricted and cannot because of work schedules. Might have to withdraw my membership and look for another gym.

I loved this gym so much but the new remodel is AWFUL and not friendly to women at all. Good luck getting anyone at the desk that can take said feedback either, like the responses to the now numerous negative reviews on this remodel keep saying to do, because I spoke to two different people at the desk, neither of which had any idea how I could share my feedback and both were unable to locate an email or card for the manager.

The numerous ways in which the new remodel is horrible:
- They eliminated the majority of the very popular cable machines, it was already hard to get a turn at one and now impossible
- they eliminated the calf extension machine, goodbye pretty legs and strong ankles
- they eliminated the hip abductor and adductor machines, not only some of the most popular machines in the whole gym but a particularly critical and popular machine for women for toning and pelvic floor health
- they've needlessly put so much stuff against the walls there is now less than half the space available that there once was for floor mat work againsta wall. This is a particular disservice to women or anyone not interested in stretching with their hind end out towards the room for creeps to look at when they can't see, because there are no longer enough spaces for floor work where you can put your back to the wall
- the new row machines do not work for a short person with breasts because you cannot lift the seat high enough to get the chest pad under your breasts, which is painful during use
- the leg lifts frame is now awkwardly and uncomfortably sized for smaller stature and frames as well

We did NOT need more giant rack machines, I never saw them entirely full at peak hours anyway. There was no need to replace ALL of the machines and just eliminate ones entirely that worked perfectly well. This remodel is taking it from a safe inclusive space for all, to a more traditional toxic "dudes club" environment. What an absolute waste. Should probably pay attention to your mounting negative reviews over this remodel.

This Planet Fitness used to be 5 stars. A few weeks ago they decided to "remodel" and they eliminated 40% of the cable machines for resistance training and replaced them with free weights like some prison yard gym. I'm a black card member, but I don't think I will continue unless they fill up all the empty space they left wide open with some machines that are for regular people.

We love the actual facility and generally most of the staff are very friendly , Planet Fitness always has been a great place to work out and is very cost- effective.

the reason I am giving a one star review is because of the manager Derek, he treated me horribly on the workout floor in front of others .

I had my headphones on working out, took off my hoodie, stored it near by against the wall out of the way. Derek abruptly Interrupted my workout and rudely demanded for me to pick up my sweatshirt, or he said I would lose my membership !
It was unbelievable. I’ve never been treated that way in my life. The place is great but the manager Derek is horrible and rude. He could’ve easily kindly introduced himself and explained this policy and that would have been great . I have since canceled my membership and now go to the Salem location

$20 for one time day pass. $1 down plus 49.99 yearly fee in 1 month. Those are the costs at this location. Not cheap like other states Arizona or Texas. Disappointing price for 1 day pass. After 1 month rate can be either $10 or $20? monthly cost. Arizona 1 time day pass is $5. Texas charges .25 cents for the 1st month, not the dollar. Just looking for a cheaper day pass.

Travel Nurse 😷 Overall, the facility is clean. 5 out of 10. 2 used showers not cleaned need sanitized. Staff are friendly; however, no more than minimal expectations. Tanning room trash half full. The door appears locked. the push button was not. I tried it . It's not a safe feeling at all while tanning in the hybrid. First door to the left. No way to keep the bathroom door shutwith your stuff in it while showering.So you can't close the shower curtain because someone could sneak in there and steal your things.Not that someone would , however , you never know.

I have been a loyal planet fitness member for idk 8 years maybe longer. I have traveled across the country and used planet fitnesses across the US. I even worked at planet fitness for 3 years at the McMinnville location then I moved to the Corvallis location. I literally know the current COO Justin Andrews. I have NEVER had a bad experience with the staff until today and I hate leaving a poor review because I love planet. I was asked by the staff to not leave my sweatshirt on the floor which I was like yeah cool no prob then proceeded to put it in my locker. I went up to the manager at the front desk and asked hey is this a new rule? He was extremely rude and said he can show me the website. So I told him I only ask because I used to work here for 3 years and it was never a rule then (granted it has been a few years since I’ve worked at planet). He was just super standoffish and handled a simple question like I was questioning his authority. I am clearly okay with abiding by the rules my sweatshirt was already put in my locker. It was unnecessary and if he treats every member that asks a question like that. That is not cool!!!

A large, well-stocked gym. It is always clean- staff wonder around cleaning and members are good about cleaning equipment after use. Plenty of machines and free weights so you rarely need to wait for anything you may want to use. Staff is friendly and helpful. McMinnville is a small town, and everyone seems to go to Planet Fitness so be ready to run into people you know at your sweaty, panting best.

Why this keeps happening ? I’ve tried talking to my bank at OnPoint. Both planet fitness and OnPoint just point fingers at the other saying the other is causing the problem. I probably got at least $100 or more of just the double charge alone.

Derek, the manager at the McMinnville Home Club location, has been someone I have interacted with on several occasions. In May 2024, when I initially signed up, I encountered issues with his professionalism. He displayed rudeness, dismissiveness, and false advertising regarding the membership terms. Despite never mentioning the payment schedule, he misleadingly claimed I would have a month before my first full payment. Within two weeks of becoming a member, I was charged twice by Planet Fitness from my bank account on the same day.

When I addressed the double payment all in one day in person, Derek shifted blame to my onpoint banking because they're next door to each other, stating they were responsible for the duplicate charges. However, upon contacting my bank, they confirmed that it was indeed Planet Fitness that had overcharged me, with two charges appearing on the same day in my bank statement. Upon raising this concern with Derek, he dismissed it and refused a refund, claiming he lacked the authority to cancel memberships and issueing any refunds and he directed me to a few phone numbers for cancellation. Despite having the membership for less than two weeks, being double charged, and not using it, I wanted it canceled.

After calling the helpline numbers provided by Derek to cancel my membership, I was informed that he was the one who needed to process the cancellation from the helpline representatives.

Despite relaying this information to Derek over the phone, he still declined to issue a refund, and cancellation citing his inability to do so without offering any alternative solutions.

I also requested the cancellation of my account last month of June upon noticing the previous additional charge and being informed about an upcoming annual fee by the helpline on July 1st, 2024. Despite speaking with Derek over the phone to confirm my cancellation before the annual fee was due, no refund was issued for previous issues nor was the membership cancled per multiple request, in person or over the phone and I continued to be charged. I haven't utilized my membership since the initial problem in May.

All I have requested at this time is a refund of the annual fee of $49 that was charged July 1st, 2024 due to me trying to cancel my membership since the month of May and not utilizing my membership since the initial encounters. Along with fully canceling my membership and not having any additional charges coming out of my bank account without my permission.

Planet Fitness needs to improve its cancellation and refund protocols and ensure that not only the manager holds all the authority at the location. While conflicts may arise, the unprofessional behavior displayed by Derek, the manager, towards customers is truly unsettling in this scenario. I can also see from previous reviews that management, payments, customer service skills, and cancellation policies is very much a continuous unresolved issue at this location.

Overall the staff is very nice and very polite. Sorry I can't say the same about the current manager. Many members, including myself, feel he is rude and standoffish most of the time. Of all the planet fitnesses I've been to this one has the least amount of accessories, sometimes only one of a particular type of machine accessory. Also disappointing when a machine is broken it can sometimes take weeks for the repair. Also wish it opened a little earlier in the morning like 4am or was a 24 hour facility.

Joined and started using in early February and was impressed how clean the facility was and friendly the staff was. Glad it isn't really busy during the day. Have had some great interactions with Jessi, who is always friendly and seems to really care about how the gym looks and operates. She seems to always be on the go and listens to repair requests and keeping things clean and operating. I hope Planet Fitness corporate reads these and gives bonuses/kudos to great employees! Glad I did the black card, as it is really a good deal when you take all the benefits into account.

Clean gym, friendly staff, not enough non bike machines. The gym also seems to have the last dial-up internet connection in town as its wifi is down more days than it's up and functional. Spending 5 to 6 days a week here, it's annoying. When you ask about it, no one knows anything, and it's always the first time they've heard of it.

I have slipped and busted myself on the locker room floor, both times pregnant. Once by the showers, where reasonably makes sense but today (36 weeks pregnant) by the lockers themselves where there was no reason a massive water spot should have been. My husband also observed one of the staff pulling a garden hose into the men's locker room and proceeded to wash a filthy trash can out in the shower and not disinfect the shower afterwards.

Nice selection of equipment is the upside, but doesn't outweigh the negatives associated with the business and environment.

Billing issues, inability or no desire to deal with bullying of the elderly, huge staff turnover with an outstanding and uncanny ability to hire for off the charts rude demeanor in new employees. Sheer inability to use strength equipment for hours at certain times makes the whole package a 1 because can't be rated lower.

besides technical issues they upgraded all their workout equipment, and besides the tanning rooms always having Kleenex in them to my knowledge ive never seen them cleaned maybe they do this during closing but should be cleaned in between each individual. Price is the ONLY reason to come here. It's rarely clean, machines stay broken for months (fixed one last week, now a new one is broken) and their hours aren't very good at the mcminnville location. Dumbells of course only go to 70lbs. They cater to old inexperienced members.
UPDATE: They have a new manager and he's not very nice. He confronted me about my bag while walking a potential new member around, not only interrupting my workout but calling me rude as I quickly explained that I've got a Dr's note on file while still trying to catch my breath. After my workout I tried to talk with him to explain my attitude and he blew me off like a child. Talking to management does nothing. It's the first time in 2 years any of their employees have been rude and unprofessional.

Worst Gym to exist. Had an unpleasant experience as a weightlifter and one of the employees harassed me to put my gym bag with my equipment in a locker because apparently now it’s a tripping hazard!? I’ve been there for two years and now they start making people put bags in lockers. Don’t they realize that we have belts and grips in our bags for our workout, and they expect us to walk back and forth to a locker because some person has a risk of tripping over a gym bag!? What next a dress code like in highschool!? I recommend if anyone is living in McMinnville and working out don’t go their waste of time and money. Honestly it makes sense that the employees are doing this because clearly they don’t understand about working out because it looks like they haven’t done any in there lifetime.

The staff has been really helpful and friendly. Most recently we had great interactions with Austin who always seems to be keeping busy and helping customers. He always makes a point to greet us when my husband and I arrive and save goodbye when we leave.

This dump is a joke they do nothing but judge in this place not to mention when you go to cancel you black card membership they say they did but yet you are still getting charged three months down the road and just about time you save 60 dollars spent from your check for something they go ahead and take that too and say they can't give it back because I canceled the same day they took it from me witch I actually cancel months ago but some one don't know what there doing cuz obviously I was still getting charged so why should I be paying for another month when I canceled already there highway robbers is all

It's alright. People that work here are cool, the equipment works but some often are broken. Overall it's a pretty decent gym. I wouldn't say it's better than an independent gym in my opinion, but it's alright.

The club here is really nice and clean. The spa amenities are fantastic. At this point everyone knows, but it should probably still be noted, Planet Fitness is NOT a body building gym

The gym is filthy. The locker rooms always smell & have wads of hair/ dirt everywhere on the floor while you are trying to change. Yuck! Every time I check in they are on their phones or gossiping up front. Half the time they don’t even notice you’re at the desk. They always have a hard time checking my guest in. She’s had NUMEROUS issues. The tanning bed floors are disgusting always wear socks. I’m not sure they get cleaned. The lack of cleanliness in this planet is crazy to me. I’ve been to so many and have never seen one so dirty.
The rating would be a 4 if they cleaned the place up a bit. The young staff is def something that can be looked past. You have time to lean you have time to clean.

To my understanding the reason planet fitness here in McMinnville went to only being open certain hours and not 24/7 like it’s supposed to be was due to covid but since everything has opened up and we longer have to wear masks why hasn’t the gym hours changed I’ve been a customer for a year now and I think I’m going to cancel since they don’t plan to open back up to 24/7

I've been to hundreds of planet fitness locations across the country. This location has one of the dirtiest locker rooms I've ever seen. Trash all over the place toilets dirty and gross. Showers smell like mold. How can it be this dirty just 2 hours after opening? When the reason for not being 24 hours anymore is "to give team members time to deep clean and sanitize the facilities" seems like they just lock up at 10 and roll on home.

I like Planet Fitness. It's not easy to feel welcome at a gym when you're a hundred pounds over weight, but I always do.
So far I'm down 8 pounds!
I'm looking forward to more weight loss. Did 60 minutes today!

I've been to probably 10 different PF gyms in the Portland area, Tigard being my main gym.. I have to say that McMinnville location is a great gym, with some of the same, and sometimes more, equipment than many of the other gyms. Plus the front counter guy was really nice..

Although the cleanliness was very subpar. I got there on a Saturday morning right at open. So not to many ppl in the gym. After my workout I usually shower. But the showers were disgusting. Soap, shampoo & razor in one shower stall. Along with hairs in another. Tried to use one of the lockers, but looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks, had garbage in it. I have to say I won't be using this gym in the future.

One of the only things I do not like about PF is they force you to sign up with a checking account. Presumably because credit/debit cards expire. This way you would have to close your checking account to cancel membership. Unless you cancel, in person, at your "home" PF. If you happened to move away, they tell you to go back to the one you signed up in. Happened to a friend. She wanted to cancel after she moved but her new local PF refused to do it so she had to drive 80 miles one-way just to cancel. Sure, she could have transferred membership, but there were caveats to doing that as well and she needed the money to not be taken out as she was short that month. Seems like a weasley way to do business. But the facilities are good. And the price is relatively cheap.
