I recently joined Planet Fitness through John, the manager at the Oregon City location. He was extremely helpful in explaining the plans and what their membership offered. I could tell he was passionate about his job there! I typically go to the Milwaukie location where Josh is the manager.
Again, like John, Josh is always up front smiling and greeting members! I usually see him working up front, cleaning or working with his staff. He always helps answer any questions fast and friendly.
Both gyms are very clean and always maintained. I appreciate the ambiance of not having bright lights so when your there you can just go in your workout zone :)
I think the only thing that is needed by (corporate) is a few signs that I have seen at other PF that are placed around stating to be mindful of being on their phones while sitting on the machines. Many people sit there getting lost scrolling while people are waiting.

Honestly the 5 stars are all due to Josh. Even if there is another deal, equipment piece, or location that may be a tad more convenient, I have still chosen to follow Josh to whichever location he resides in. It makes total sense that he would be in management. He's always been beyond professional, accommodating, friendly, and really embodies what I would look for if I was to hire someone for a leadership role in my company. He's also very quick with check-ins or problem solving and finding solutions. I'm really happy to get back in the gym after having recently had a major leg surgery where I wasn't able to use it. I reached out, got a hold of him and he was able to set up my account all over again for me💪🏽☀️

The ONLY serious feedback I have is that I really wish that they had more of the ad machines where you can sit down and pull the wishbone rope forward and back. The other would be the cap and quad machine where you are leaned forward and kicking back. Both seem to be a favor one at times and personally it's a primary in my piece of equipment and any routine I have ever had. I think there is one more but it's in the center of the room which personally I find uncomfortable.

I just wanted to give a big shoutout to the staff here. They seriously went way above and beyond for me this past Friday around 1 PM. I accidentally dropped my earbud inside one of the StairMasters, and before I could even ask for help, several staff members (even ones who weren’t on shift) jumped in to help me get it out. There were about four people helping, and they were all so kind and genuinely caring. It really showed how great the team is here. I left super impressed and grateful. Thank you all again for being so great!

dumbest hours I've ever known a business to have. Who needs the gym open at 3am on a tuesday? whole world is asleep. close at 10pm everyday except those two random days means EVERYONE and their mom is at the gym from 2-6 pm because everyone gets off work at 2/3 and no one wants to be at the gym past 6 when you have to be asleep in two hours. Which means actually trying to have a work out is miserable, you have two people standing around you waiting for the machine you're on at any given moment. make saturday and sunday 24 hr instead so the whole population isnt stuck working out in that alloted 3 hour time slot every day. I would have kept my subscription if I was able to work out at 10:30 on a saturday. Hours are so inaccessable for a company that performs inclusion so intensely.

My husband and I went this morning for our first time. I just purchased the PF black Card membership. When we went in this morning I wasn't sure what to do so I asked the front desk lady. I explained I was a new member. She took my name and ID and explained what I needed to do next time but it would have really been helpful to have a fast walk around to where things are. Like restrooms, locker rooms, massage bed ex.. I felt completely lost. Other then that, I had a good first work out. Just a friendly suggestion to help new members out and to make us feel more comfortable.

This planet fitness was larger than some others, equipment seemed cleaned and maintained by the customers. Additionally the showers seemed to not be cleaned for some time and they have a bad drain gnat problem in the showers.

Update: Based on the owners response, that explains why the gym bathroom is in the condition it is. They expect the customers to ensure that the staff are doing their jobs. Perhaps the owner should ensure quality and standards are being maintained. I’m pretty sure this didn’t happen in one day with there being mildewed shower curtains, layered soap scum on the walls, broken faucet handles and an infestation of drain gnats in the showers. Also rather than taking ownership of the issue their response just puts the issue back onto the customer.

Recently saw an employee personally training a disabled elderly man. The kindness and way she spoke to him, not patronizing but like an old friend would joking with him as they worked out seriously warmed my heart. When it comes to the gym, I've been going here since it opened and this standards for cleanliness exceed any other gym I've been to and it is consistently perfectly clean. They get new equipment and fix anything that's broken regularly. I cannot stress enough how much my entire family loves this gym, got my parents into lifting & they go here every single day now. LOVE the wellness booths with red light and vibration plates. So good for my nervous system. I also love that the facility is so clean. I've seen hair wadded up in the bottom of the shower a few times, and the curtains need replaced more often. Other than that everything is cleaned often. It's a relaxed, friendly environment. It's so clean, my hubs was now convinced to switch from 24HR Fitness because they never clean there and it's absolutely disgusting. So happy with my experience thus far at PF.

I have been working out here for 2 years now and I have only been treated respectfully, above and beyond 2 other local gyms that I've experienced. Anyone who rates this lower than an 8 is just trying to "monkey-wrench" a solid gym for the area, OR has a mental issue that nobody in their capacity can resolve (these folks exist in here, but are few and far between). The manager, Kameron, is mature beyond his years and is solid in greeting people and treating them well, even if they seem to "push the limits." For instance, when a guy seemed like a complete nut, Kameron said he would observe what that person was doing before making any kind of judgment. That balanced manager-dude didn't yell at that guy to mellow out, but afterwards I realized that guy wasn't necessarily breaking any of the golden PF rules either. Every worker that sticks around for more than a month seems to care about the individuals that come in, with Jose, Bill, Elle, Paris, and "New Whateverthenametagsays" being standup individuals. It seems they may even get rid of below-standard workers as the only two attendants that seemed overly obsessed with phones, or slacked, were gone within 3 months. Overall, I recommend this gym to my less-than-fit soccer teammates, and I think anyone that is in the area looking for a top gym should give this place a trial.

Clean and the space is pretty open, I go on my lunches and its very pleasant. Staff is very nice and helpful. One experience I had my debit card stuck to my phone unknowingly in my pocket. I pulled my phone out when I was on the stair master the debit card fell into the abbeys of the stairs. Feeling mortified I asked for help and the gentleman at the front desk was quick to help me and get my card. He had the panel off in less than a couple minutes and found my card. Finished my work out and was very appreciative. Good people there defiantly recommend!

The chain is under new ownership so a few things were neglected but the new owners fixed machines and added some new machines. Younger workers who sometimes need a nudge to clean, refill paper and spray etc. But for the most part gym is clean, machines are spread out and organized and no one is rude. This gym fullfils almost all of my needs, pool would be great! 24 hours fitness gyms around here are old and falling apart 😢

Regular member. The ellipticals are falling apart :c. Feet/arms are loose on a lot of them. Please maintain equipment.

Reply to response: Do employees regularly use the machines to test for problems? It doesn't seem like it since at least 5 ellipticals I've used have clunking and/or loose components. Currently the dependent curl machine has a loose right elbow.

Edit: Updated from 3 to 4 stars because the ellipticals have been fixed (maybe) lately and haven't been an issue for me. Now if only we could get rid of the 9 to 1 ratio of cardio equipment and have more smith machines and weight areas since they are obviously always the busiest areas.

If you want to park over a mile a way due to lack of parking, shower in showers that have soap scum on shower curtains and aren't deep cleaned regularly-- not to mention, staff is never seen wiping off equipment (hello?! covid, MRSA,fungus, etc) instead stand around chit chatting, when they should be actively cleaning, this is the place for you. I forsee them being reported to the Oregon department of health in the future for lack of deep cleaning and basic upkeep.

The staff is nice, and the place is clean but it's obvious to me that the OWNER IS CHEAP!!! I travel for work, so I have been to a ton of different locations, and this is the only one that the MASSAGE TIME IS ONLY 7 MINUTES NOT 10 MINUTES! The massage is a huge catalyst to get me to the gym and they shave off time that I paid for in the black membership. I could see if it was an insanely busy gym and there was always a wait for the massage beds but that is not the case.

However, parking can be a challenge, especially for elderly patrons, due to overflow from nearby businesses like the dental office and Charles Tools Warehouse which is a block away. Despite clear 'Customer Parking Only' signs, some people still park illegally, often right next to the signs. It's unclear why management hasn't taken more action, such as towing illegally parked vehicles.

The last couple weeks the gym has been closing 10pm on Friday even though it's supposed to be midnight. Somethings always broke. Staff is pretty awesome but I think they need to send out alerts on app to let people know they will be closing at a certain time. It’s new and I just love it. It’s so clean, easy lockers, tanning, hydro massage. Staff is very friendly and helpful. My one teensy complaint is the heavy metal music. Maybe at night? Twice I have been in around 11 or 12 during the day and well… heavy metal is a particular taste but it’s so loud! The rest of the music seems at an ok volume but today I had my headphones on level 3 sound to watch tv and still could barely hear the tv over the music….Still I love this place!

I’ve been to several Planet Fitness in the area and this is one is my favorite. VERY clean and bright. Weight machines have rep counters. Friendly staff. Plus it’s right by New Seasons which is great for the post workout dessert and booze. 😉

In my opinion, as a casual exerciser, Planet Fitness is a good value. This particular location is still very new and clean. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Open late on weekends (wish it was later, like 12), spacious showers, welcoming staff, clean. This is my third favorite, first being Clackamas which is the sister facility to this one. Their computer was down for tanning and massage so i couldnt see what they had available, thier drinks are over priced and this location has a very limited drink section.

Large, well maintained planet fitness. This is not my normal location but this was a pleasant surprise to dip into. The staff was kind and the location was well kept. A little busy for my liking but I'm sure it was the time I was there. By the looks of how many people go here, I'd say this area could benefit from another Planet fitness 🤷🏼‍♀️

They want you to pay for the blackcard for the extra perks but don't change the tanning beds bulbs in a timely manner, put you in tanning in beds with 3 or 4 bulbs that are not working you are wasting very expensive tanning lotions you say something and they say we will pass it on and a month later still the same problem. I'm discussed bad management

Love this Gym! Signed up in October. The gym is clean, staff are nice and friendly. They are on top of refilling supplies for example paper towels for cleaning machines and making sure the bathroom is clean as well. I enjoy the positive atmosphere. I have stuck to my fitness journey and couldn’t be happier! I think allot has to do with how comfortable I am working out here ❤️

Clean, spacious. It's just a little confusing when you sign up online and then go in for the first time, and it would be nice if you could see a trainer for a consultation within a week of signing up, but their trainers seem to have very limited time

Tried to atop by to get a shower as they were one of two locations open later (sadly no 24/7 locations in Oregon) amd there was a sign on the door they had closed 3+ hours early

I’ve been a member for three years and due to the unprofessional new manager Josh I have cancelled my membership. Not only did he say it’s not his fault my 13 year old son didn’t have a cell phone to be signed in, he proceeded to harass me during my workout by only applying certain rules to me as a reason to come over and voice his frustration. I’m now a member at 24 hour and could not be more pleased. The $10 extra per month is well worth being treated fairly and with respect. I hope planet fitness does better because this treatment was beyond poor and shows how low they set their standards as far as representation of the company.
