I like it here. It's super convenient for my temporary lodging. And I'm used to only free weights.. so it's a nice change up to have access to some of the machines. The staff and the service hear are amazing. I have seizures and have a service animal that is w me 24/7 and am used to business's giving me a hard time about having her come in with me. My favorite gym in Portland, the staff are amazing and I’m able to bring guests all the time, I use pretty much all the amenities and machines and make the most of my black card each month via drinks like water, Celsius etc. the tv’s and music are good too and there are a lot of options to choose from whether ur doing weight lifting, cardio or just stretching out.

Buyer Beware! This is the OPPOSITE of a " Judgement Free Zone ' has a WIERD VIBE, starting with the arrogant manager , reception staff down to many of the patrons. Many seem to attend to either have a bathroom facility where to take a bath ( the restroom is sort of smelly and dirty) or spend their time as spectators, focusing on other people with the typical "gym bro" attitude. Been a customer for over 10 years, several states, multiple locations. Never had such bizarre experience. PF boasts their gyms are "a place where everyone feels welcome", it couldn't be further from the truth.
What broke the camel's back: spent first two days running around the gym avoiding the constant " stare down " from several patrons while trying to focus on my routine, had to cut it short because went from distracting to straight uncomfortable. First thought it was the weekend crowd , (started on a Saturday) thought to myself should just come weekdays outside peak hours avoid the crowds. Monday, show up really early, not only was it the same, even the manager, did the same. cut my routine third day in a row decided to call it a day, got changed and on my way out sat down on the sofa in reception area to cool down while it stopped raining. Sat there reading a book, the manager walked towards the reception, laser focused on me, when I turned to look, notice him so I made eye contact and as he kept looking directly at me he asked me ""you good?". Confused as I was I said " I think so, why? Is there anything wrong with me sitting or being here?" He quickly retorted that "the lounge area was solely for people waiting for a ride" to which I responded that this had never been the case in any of the other PFs I had ever visited and that I had seen people lounging there on the weekend on my way in and out. He desisted, went behind the counter and kept staring behind the computer while he said something to the girl working the reception. At that point I had realized that I was in the wrong place and decided to walk over to the counter and ask him to please go ahead and refund my money and cancel my membership because I was feeling super uncomfortable and it was only my third day , to which he responded 'sure, I can go ahead and cancel your membership". I told him I wanted a refund and not a cancelation since they were not following though with their part of our contract agreement of providing a "Judgement Free Zone ' where one could feel welcomed and actuall workout. After insisting on my request he went to say that he would contact the head office to get my refund and he would cancel my membership, and so I asked him for something in writing as evidence of this verbal agreement, and he ignored my request and kept saying he would call so I insisted he call as I stood there but he refused. I told him not to cancel the membership that I would go ahead and contact corporate to request the refund and subsequent cancelation. At that point he said " you know what, I am going to cancel your membership and I'm going to ask you to leave or I'm going to call the cops". I really couldn't believe what was going on. I told him " no worries, I'll contact corporate right now " walked outside and stood in the parking lot while I made the phone call and as I was speaking to the customer service rep. from corporate when all of a sudden three Portland Police Patrol vehicles pulled up like there was a robbery being committed. After they realized that I'm on the phone with the company, they asked me what happened , I explained and they were nice enough to just ask me to leave the shopping center premises, it was just"part of their job". As I walked out of the the premises and wrapped up my call with the company's headquarters I was told I should hear from them within 3 to 5 days. I learned my lesson,done with Planet Fitness! Went on Facebook and found a basic set of bars and weight plates for $75, enough to get a proper workout at home without the need to be subjected to this kind of bullying by any business employee.

The old manager and “new” manager Darren are horrible at customer service.

I signed up for a membership wasn’t given a tour or any details on the gym. I was in the gym for 30 minutes and in that time I realized the equipment is low quality. The gym is filthy. Their weights are limited and smell.

There are no benches or squat racks, only smith machines.

After the 30 minutes of realizing the gym wasn’t very good I asked to cancel my membership.

The front desk employee knew how to create my membership but didn’t know how to cancel it. I was told it would be relayed to a manager whom would reach out to me. That never happened. A month later I’m getting notifications that I’m late on payments for the account I asked to be canceled. When speaking to the new manager Darren he says on the phone that he can’t help me even though his employees didn’t know how to do their job. That he apologizes that I have to pay fees because the employees didn’t know how to do their jobs.
Upon asking Darren where the fairness is in that he stated that it was “not his problem”.

As their new manager it’s not looking good because Darren was very rude and gave horrible customer service!

I gave up on trying to resolve the situation and just chalked it as a loss and learning lesson.

I would not recommend this gym ever for anyone. The rumors and memes are all true, it is a circus.
You couldn’t pay me to return to this gym.

Probably one of dumbest experiences I’ve had, went in, first of all no free trials in Portland area so I myself as a travel nurse can’t even check out the gym to see if I enjoy it/ a good fit for me. So I decided hell I’ll just apply for a membership since it’s so close to me where I’m staying. Nope, their systems weren’t working and the guy proceeds to tell me to apply online when I go home but wouldn’t even let me workout there for the day and told me to go home. Like cool. I’ll drive the extra couple miles over to LA fitness.

Planet Fitness in Saratoga is an excellent gym with so much to offer! It’s always clean, well-maintained, and has a great selection of equipment. The staff is friendly and welcoming, making every visit a positive experience. One of the biggest perks is its convenient location near several shopping centers, making it easy to run errands before or after your workout. There’s always plenty of parking available, and for those with EVs, there’s a Tesla Supercharging station nearby, which is a huge bonus. Been going to this gym for years, and usually come with my $30 "fitgirl" bar pad, I lost it at some point and just accepted it. I dont lose things and this pad stays in my car 24/7 unless im at this gym. When I went to rent a bar pad they handed me mine that i lost and asked if I could take it back, I showed them the receipt on Amazon that I bought this bar pad. The girl at the front desk said if I show her the pad before I leave that I can have MY bar pad back. When I went to leave and showed her the pad and my Amazon receipt and she claimed she can't let me leave with it because her manager said they "order them in bulk from amazon" a gym that charges $20 bucks a month orders $30 bar pads in bulk from Amazon as well? Planet Fitness stole my bar pad, its not about the money but the principal. It's one thing if I lost it and someone took it home but planet fitness is literally keeping my personal belongings and letting others use it.

If you can sign up online, you should be able to cancel online. Forcing someone to take time out of their day to head to a location to cancel service or go buy a stamp to hand write a letter would make sense in the 90s.
I have not attended for 3 months, with a $10 "late fee," so $40 total. Easily noticeable that I have not attended the gym since, and they offer no other relevant options to cancel or to waive fees in the year 2024.
Thankfully, I will be contacting my bank to stop the payment order. I'd rather invest my time into keeping what's rightfully mine.

After flying a long day of flying I needed a hot shower an a really good workout.

This Planet Fitness is opened 24 hours so the great thing is even though I landed late at night I was still able to come in and get what I needed.

This is by far one of the cleanest Planet Fitness I have been in.

When you walk in you immediately smell freshness.

The Spa area is to the right once you enter, the locker rooms are in the middle of the gym on the back wall.

There are mini lockers that can be used without going into the locker rooms make sure to bring a lock.

All lockers inside the locker rooms aws well as next to the service desk need your own lock.

The service desk does offer locks, eye protection, tanning lotions, shirts, beanies, workout bags, tumblers, workout towels, drinks to hydrate (water/Gatorade/muscle milk).

This gym has 2 total body enhancement machines, multiple standing tanning beds, there are 3 recliner massage chairs, 2 hydor beds, and 2 chair massagers.

I will say that both hydro beds where being repaired as well as one of the hydro recliner chairs. (There was a mechanic working on them while I was in the gym so that lets me know that they are quick to fix their equipment.

Especially in today's world we need safe spaces to workout.

So grateful and thankful for the staff and the atmosphere!

Overall this was an amazing experience and GYM.

So here’s the deal. There’s a lot of negative reviews on this place that are easily solvable. When you sign up for an ongoing membership, take a minute to read the terms. Yes it’s $10/month with a $49 fee that’s paid once every year. In totality that’s only $169/year. You won’t find a better deal anywhere. Period.

So do your due diligence and read the T&C.

The facility is in good shape. They just got more new machines. The staff is helpful. If you have a problem, have a conversation with someone on duty. They can’t read your mind. So say something if another gym goer is causing issues.

If you're looking to go to an actual gym this is not the place. There's no free weight squat rack or bench press. They only have the Smith machines. Dumbbells only go up to 75 lb. There is plenty treadmills and machines to get you in shape. I pay $24 a month which is a great price.

Recently I had my car towed from the parking lot here , I come here everyday to shower and unfortunately my car got a flat tire and I couldn’t afford to have it towed out til the end of the week when I got paid but I figured since I am a member and show up here at least once a day to check on it and use the gym that it shouldn’t be a problem , I was given no warning or any type of note saying it being there was a problem I even asked a couple staff memeber me if they thought it would be okay and they all said they didn’t see why it would be a problem as long as I showed up at the gym each day .. they don’t even have tow signs visible from the parking spots either . Unfortunately my check wasn’t enough to pay my bills n to get it out so I had to wait til I got my next check and now in the time it’s been it’s going to cost me close to 800 dollars to get it out

We have been coming here for years and it's great! They started doing a question of the day and it helped me stop and get to know the front desk!. Edited: took away one star. Apparently evenings here are even worse. One dude occupied one machine for my entire 30 minute circuit as I worked around him. Saw an employee walk by twice.

At the end, I asked the guy if I could work in one set. He said “yeah, when I’m done.” I pointed out he was in the circuit and it had been 30 minutes. He told me to “get outta here”

I went to the front to ask for help. The reply was “yeah, we get those guys in there sometimes. We say something sometimes but we can’t just cancel their membership”

I didn’t ask for a cancelled membership, I just want access to the equipment I am ALSO paying a membership fee for. Staff was no help at all.

I chose planet fitness 6 months ago mostly because of the 30-minute circuit. I don’t want to be a 2-hr a day gym person. This location is large, plenty of machines, clean, never full… but the circuit area is CONSTANTLY used by folks either unwilling to use the machines in open air, or for folks that don’t care how they may be inconveniencing others. People sit and take two minutes pr more playing on their phones, taking phone calls, selfies, using it like a lounge…

If you use the area as intended and signed, I should never have to wait or ask to work in. But at least once a week, I do. I am happy to skip a machine while in use and come back; but I people sit down and occupy machines for 5-10 minutes or more at a time. Disregard the red light/green light system, oblivious to those of us moving through the circuit. I can work through my entire routine including steps and still have a machine occupied ten minutes later.

Signs say area is monitored but I have never once seen staff intervene. It is super frustrating when I can clearly see the same machines out in front are open and available and people still clog up the circuit area.

I honestly appreciate everything else about the gym, but it’s a bummer that the one thing that sold me is the one thing that is constantly abused.

I called to ask a question, and Jonas hung up on me. Then I called, got their name, and asked again, and they pretended they didn't hear me the first time. They were very unhelpful, so I asked for a manager. Then they said their manager was on lunch.
This conversation was at 4:40pm.
Jonas claimed that the manager works a 10am to 6pm shift.
Oregon State Labor Law says:
(B) If the work period is more than seven hours, the meal period must be taken after the conclusion of the third hour worked and completed prior to the commencement of the sixth hour worked.
So either Jonas was lying to me, or Planet Fitness is not adhering to Oregon State Laws.

Edit; they respond pretending they’re gonna fix things but really they’re not. They’ll charge you the annual fee even if you cancel, and refuse to refund you. Even if you won’t even be a guest for the year!! I’m a college student and that money was supposed to go to groceries. Y’all need to make this right.

The over nights Mr Tim and Miss Jenny were professional and polite. Mr Tim was kind and informative, and a real genuine person. Please treat him nicely.

This is a little Hidden Gem that has absolutely delicious pastries and Visually they are stunning. I feel terrible I didn't get a picture but next time I'll go in I absolutely will. Stop by say hi and you will not be sorry that you did!

I had sent them a letter to cancel my membership well over a month ago, and they apparently never received it. After I noticed two more charges, including the fifty dollar annual maintenance fee, I had to go back and forth with the HQ, only to be told that they couldn't offer a refund, only store credit.

I joined Planet Fitness in order to have 24 hour access to a quality gym.
Ever since the pandemic, though, they've shortened their hours to the point that I can't even go on a Sunday night past 7pm.
It's not as if PF can't afford to staff their gyms. It's just that they don't want to operate outside of peak hours.
It's become insanely frustrating. My work schedule is my work schedule. I pay for a black card membership and joined under the impression that I would have 24 hour access.
But I can't even go if I work late on certain nights.
Edit (in response to the owner's corpo-speak response): That's neither helpful, nor genuine. I'm sure that somebody in an HR role somewhere thinks it's perfectly appropriate but, as a human being, I prefer not to be met with robotic patronizing. PF is franchised. So why not just make the decision to return to the model your members were promised when they joined?

I've had some decent experiences with some other nice patrons. The equipment could use a bit of updating, and there are a few people that walk around like they own the place and are better than everyone else, but so far, it's good.
I do wish there was a closer facility in St. Johns to cut down on my long commute.

I had to close my bank account for them to STOP taking money out.. place is disgusting. Showers are never clean. People breaking into lockers and the manager, forget his name, needs SERIOUS customer service training. He's on a power trip. Ask him why he can't keep any women employees . This place is nasty

Not safe location. Someone broke my locker in the locker room and stole my stuff. There is no cameras in the locker room. So no one can help you if you are in this kind of situation.

Came in with my sister with a guest pass. First time, very friendly staff. Seemed clean. I wouldn't say they had a huge assortment of weight machines nor more than 1-2 of each. So if it's busy, you'd have to wait for your turn.
