There might be no windows, but we don't need that distraction. The machines might be on the older side, but they are the ones our heroes used. The lighting might be 1999 strip mall, but we're not here for social media. Never felt more comfortable in a gym. 5/5.

Love this place. Signed my son and myself up months ago and we now go here almost daily. It’s a unique gym with everything you need to work every muscle. I’ve made a number of new friends here. Management is great and we look forward to being power palace members for years to come !

This place is fairly bad. The problem is that while it is quiet (so few customers), the people who do show up tend to be the powerlifter types who grunt, shout, drop weights and smell pretty horrific. Most people in Newberg seem to have given up on the joint. Also, there seem to be many false reviews from the owner on Google. Check Yelp!

Power palace is a fantastic gym. Lots of really effective machines that you don’t see often at the chain gyms. The atmosphere is great, no waiting around for equipment and everyone is really friendly. I drive past 2 other gyms to go here as it’s hands down the best in the area. Customer for life!

Quick summary: This gym is filthy and managed poorly, but you can get a good workout in. The gym is open 24hrs, and there is little selection in Newberg; 3 stars.

Started working out at this gym ~3 months ago. It is near my home, it is open 24/7, and has good weightlifting equipment. That all being said, it is run down. The gym itself is humid, smells, and is honestly one of the most filthy gyms I've ever been to (a few photos below). There is also just a lot "going on" in the gym. There is blaring music 24/7, lights that run around the ceiling changing color, posters of actors and bodybuilders everywhere, and motivational qoutes. There are DIY disciplinary signs posted all over the gym by the owner and power cords poorly taped to walls or not taped at all and hanging. Coming from other gyms to this has been a complete shock. There is absolutely no attention to detail. To sum it all up: Imagine a dusty garage gym, scale it up, and it is this gym. You can for sure get a good workout in, but for $55 dollars a month, the management and overall condition of the gym is atrocious.

I am not sure what is happening with the other reviews, but this is a real review. The gym is a cool idea but needs a ton of work and attention. I made an account with a different name to post in hopes that the gym owner cleans this place up. I still will continue to go to the gym, and if it improves, I will delete the review.

Edit: Can't believe I'm arguing with the gym owner, but I guess this is where we are at. Like i said, poor attention to detail. I specifically stated I was using a fake account. I am a member, but as you've shown you cannot handle any criticism, so I didn't want to post my name. It's wild that you only assume criticism is coming from people that have never been there, and are taking no steps to improve your business. To anyone reading this, take the owners actions into your gym considerations. To further prove that I am a member, I have also now added a photo of my key fob.

It seems that anyone who has been to this gym, loves it. Meanwhile, any negative reviews seem to be from people who have never been to this gym and/or have ulterior motives.
Here are the facts;
Big franchises that care more about the bottom line than the quality of the equipment or the experience of their members dominate the gym scene. Power Palace is owned by people who love strength culture and want to provide the best equipment, best experience, and best atmosphere for members (and it shows).
I could write numerous paragraphs detailing every reason why this gym is great, but honestly if you just go and check it out for yourself, you'll get it.

No strings attached straight forward sign up process and reasonable price five-ish minutes from my house. Diverse collection of equipment. The heavy bag is a huge plus for me personally - rarely see them anymore at a gym. Guy who runs the place is a nice dude and the walls are filled with pictures of some of my favorite body builders and actors from back in the day. No complaints.

This is the premier gym in Newberg and easily the best within a 30-mile radius. You won’t find a better selection of top-tier machines, including Nautilus, dumb bells above 100lbs, or specialty bars and grips at any other gym nearby. I’ve been coming here for the past few months and have no regrets about switching from the prior gym I was going to. The owners do a great job maintaining the equipment to ensure members have a clean and safe environment to workout in. The entire space is a shrine to fitness with a tilt towards the golden age bodybuilders who are prominently displayed on the walls. You get 24 hour access with a key fob that opens the door and ensures no matter what your schedule is, you can always get a workout in. There are trainers you can book sessions with here too if you are seeking that. If you enjoy bodybuilding or powerlifting, you will not find a gym with a better price, selection of equipment, or 24 hours access.

I was pretty excited about this gym and its offerings. I took the tour, understanding that since it had opened only a short time ago, the equipment was still being organized. I did not look into the changing room area, and they said they were still sourcing lockers. The reason for the one star rating is not only about the condition of the establishment (a definite work in progress... with all the mess, dirt and dust involved in that) as the cofounder has absolutely ruined any trust I have that the establishment is able to maintain an open and safe place without judgement of any kind. If you are looking to join, be sure that you and your beliefs align with theirs (easily found at their blog website). Power Palace Gym does not deserve my time or money.

1) By your admittance...
Incorrect, my review has everything to do with the gym and its service. It is messy, dirty, dusty, and unorganized. There were no spray bottles or wipes in evidence for people to clean the equipment before or after they used it. The locker rooms have no lockers. The owner does not make it feel like a safe, comfortable and non-judgmental environment.

I left a one star review because I do not feel like this place deserves my time or money and I wish to warn others of the expectations they should have when they enter.

3) You probably never...
Nobody is good at investigation if they find truth by just claiming it to be so. I have two feet, they walked through most of the gym.

Any business in the modern day should be regarded as a 'Judgement free zone' and if it is not, that business is an unsafe place for anyone who does not fit into the view and belief of its proprietor.

5) Gyms are a place...
I can agree with this.

Incorrect and an outright terrible thing to say. Not to mention unnecessary.

This may be true, I am glad you feel that way.

This review is based upon my own tour of the business, the attitudes I received during that tour, and the owners already publicly available statements (discovered after the tour because of impressions made during the tour). It is my own belief that a person who enters this gym should be aware that they are patronizing a business which promotes and supports these views.

11) We have many...
This is not my experience or expectation from this gym. This is my reason for an one star review. At this point, I can't imagine that changing based upon your response to my review, and my own initial impressions and subsequent research.

Ok, please mark me as of one of those 1/10 people who didn't sign up. I will also wonder how you get your statistics.

13) Our gym members are...
It does not matter to me if members are great people when the owner and cofounder has shown to me, (through multiple avenues, including this entire set of interactions (tour, review, owners response)) that he is not. I see no reason to fund and support an establishment where the proprietor's views are anathema to mine.

I don't care whether or not everyone at the gym agrees with my political beliefs. I expect that most of them won't. I do care if the person running the gym is going to respond to my review with attacks, dismissal, and gaslighting.

I again state that this establishment is not worth my time or money. I hope this review, owners response, and addendum can help others to make their own decision.

This gym is fantastic. I’ve been to plenty of bodybuilding gyms, and this one ranks amongst some of the best ones I’ve been to. The atmosphere in the gym is friendly and accessible enough that I have seen people of all ages and exercise experience come in to workout. I also had the pleasure of meeting the co-owners of the gym, both of them were nothing but kind and welcoming to me. They are serious about making this place even better, and in the short time I was there, a bunch of new equipment was brought in. The saddest part of leaving Newberg was not having this gym anymore! A heartfelt thank you to Carey and Rock for making my time in their gym the best!

Ignore the folks leaving 1 star. They are members of our local cancel culture Progressives and they don't like the owner. I've been to the gym and it has a truly great atmosphere for fitness and lifting. The equipment is comprehensive, good quality, and thoughtfully arranged. The owners are really friendly and helpful. Visit and you will see for yourself.

This is a fantastic gym!!! best choice I’ve made. Training at Power P. from ownership, to management, trainers, by far the nicest and most knowledgeable staff in the business today. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone. Trainers really care and go above and beyond to help you achieve your goals. It’s great having a good gym in town! They have all the equipment I need, it’s comfortably air conditioned, and it’s not too crowded. I take my son here so we can get fit together. I work some crazy hours, so it’s really nice not having to worry about whether or not the gym is open when I get off work. The owner is a genuinely nice guy and is always offering to spot me when I’m lifting. No complaints whatsoever.

This gym has a lot of really great equipment that you won't find at a lot of commercial gyms. It's not the prettiest gym i ever saw, but the staff was really knowledgeable, and they have everything you'll need to build yourself! Including a lot of Nautilus equipment which are pretty rare, chain driven machines! It's reminiscent of many of the gyms I've seen in body building documentaries! Great little spot to checkout!
