No real positives now my Physical Therapist moved out. Old equipment and no solid Internet. If no parking and smelling BO is your things this is your place . Cancelling membership, much better options in The Dalles and HR. Staff is never behind desk.. usually working out or in the sauna., instead of cleaning this dump.

I love that Parkdale has a 24 hour gym. However, this place is not maintained well at all. Multiple machines are broken and stay broken. Ive been going here for about 6 months and none of the broken equipment has been fixed. Also, the cleanliness is very bad. Its hard to believe that you can't afford a good cleaner to come in atleast once a week, when you don't even have to pay employees at this location. My shower at home was out of commission for a while so I frequently used the shower at the gym. It was disgusting 80% of the time. Pic of the clogged sink full of someone's beard hair included.

Grabbed a day pass since I was passing through town for business and hotel gyms aren't the best. Super convenient I could do everything electronically. Gym had everything I needed.

Old school gym with old school charm, best in Hood River. I love the community here. They have everything you’d want and are open late which is awesome.
None of this justifies the $70/mo price tag however. After three years coming here, I can’t point to any significant improvement aside from basic repairs and a small portable sauna installed (which takes 90 min to heat up…)
Everything else has gone down in quality. Sweat rags which used to be free are now $3 for purchase. Key fobs were phased out in place of a clunky mobile app that doesn’t always work. Staff is hardly present, even during staffed hours, communicating only in cheaply printed all-caps notices taped about the gym. One has to wonder where, if anywhere, their money is going.

Gym playground; Old school gym with personality!
PSHR is a great gym for most. What I imagine the gym Arnold and co would train at in the 70s.
It's not your soulless corpo gym with 20 treadmills to every one squat rack blasting top 40s hits.
At first look it appears to be very weight lifting/cross fit ish focused. But my favorite thing about this gym is the free-form nature of it; want to do duck walks up and down the gym, no problem. Need a space to do military type calisthenics, they got you. Need a group class to get you going, well they got that too. Want to do stair master and then hit a few machines you can do that too. It's a gym playground!
sad I moved away and am back at a big box gym.

A phenomenal “old-school” gym with an extremely wide array of machines and equipment. An incredible gym for weight training. I visited the gym twice using their daily guest pass option while in town for a wedding. The staff were extremely friendly and the integration with a mobile app to allow you to access the gym at your convenience worked flawlessly. I can’t recommend this gym highly enough if you are looking to train.

Had the pleasure of using Power Station while on an extended work trip to Hood River. The gym has absolutely everything you need; racks, weights, CrossFit room and the family atmosphere to keep you coming. If you’re ever in need of a new gym to check out, stop by and talk to Adam and they’ll get you taken care of.

Best gym in town if you need a place to workout and don’t want to deal with annoying membership shenanigans.
Wow! Been through town a few times for work, though this time was for vaca. Wanted a gym to lift in for just a day or two at most. Power Station’s use of an app that uses Bluetooth to let you into the bldg at your convenience is unbelievably useful and ahead of its time compared to other gyms I’ve used in passing. Equipment served the purpose I needed it to, and it was right next to my hotel. Thanks for running a smooth operation!

Needs improvements on old equipment, I’ve pointed out equipment that has Hiem joints and they’re uneven causing it to put most of the weight on one arm. Im a disabled vet that’s also recovering from a scapula break and i reaggravated my injury from this under maintained equipment. I’ve traveled most the US and this gym charges TOP DOLLAR for a mediocre gym and equipment from the 1990s that again isn’t maintained. The dumbbells are pieced together, they have 1 70lb and 1 75lb dumbbells. They’re also missing 40lb dumbbells. They seem to listen to my issues but again just listen and not fix.

Great gym, clean, easy to access, good prices for what it is. I'd give it 6 stars if it had more cardio machines but then I realized I can just run around outside.

I visited this gym while in town from Indianapolis and had a great experience. They have a great vibe and all the equipment needed for my type of training style. I would definitely recommend and visit again the next time I'm in town.

Staying in the Dalles overnight and needed a place to work out. Day passes were available and they were open late. Everything I needed was there. Bigger than you think! Wish my gym at home was maintained like this one.

The Power Station is as good as it gets in the Gorge! It is clean, not overly crowded, and comes with a super friendly/helpful staff and generally welcoming vibe. Recent renovations such as the locker rooms that include lockers and showers and the upstairs lounge area really complete your gym experience. If you are looking for a new gym in the gorge The Power Station is your best bet.

The Power Station is the best gym in Hood River, which isn't saying much. The ambiance is nice enough it's slowly being renovated and every week looks a bit nicer. The quotes on the walls are funny and encouraging and Cheno is the best part of the entire gym. There are no areas to stretch out or do plyometrics outside of a tiny space under the stairs where there is a boxing bag in the middle of the space. There is half a rock wall and the free weight area of the gym is connected to a cross fit gym. The cross fitters are the most important clientele at this gym and get clear better treatment than the rest of us. My biggest issue with this gym is who I assume to be the owner/manager. Though I appreciate her zeal to maintain the glory of her hard work, my boyfriend and I have had quite a few run ins with her and have watched her argue with other gym members when they do not treat her weights in her desired manner. I understand that this is a local small business and generally that is something I would love to support but often she is more irritated with us gym rats than motivating. She is often curt and demanding opposed to open and welcoming. I clearly will still go there but it is mainly because there is nowhere else in Hood River #smalltownliving
