Ryan only has 5 star reviews for a reason: he is great. He made a custom, advancing workout and diet plan to help me meet my goals. He adjusted it when needed, if something wasn't working for me yet. I came with no former weight training or workout experience at all, and he helped me learn everything. He helped me lose weight, gain muscle, and stick to a healthy diet. If you stick to his plan (that he makes sure you can do) you'll meet your goals.

I started training with Ryan in the middle of COVID, recruited friends and family, and we are all continuing to this day. I am so impressed by his ability to help people of different ages, sizes, issues, pains, and goals. He is a professional, takes his training career seriously, is easy to talk to, and down to earth. Training over video is convenient and Ryan is very experienced with this approach. To keep me in balance and injury-free, he rotates my routine every month through strength, stability, and cardio. Getting stronger is helping me through menopause, building my confidence, and I'm sure helping my bones. I was always active through my job but never had a gym or cardio habit. Making my appointments with Ryan keeps me accountable and progressing. When life gets in the way he is encouraging but also understanding. I have never felt judged. Try him! No commitment interview.

I have been training with Ryan since March 2021 virtually at home, three times a week, I see great results and overall physical improvement. My goal is to get healthier and stronger with accountability to commit to training in the long term.   Ryan switch program every two months, focusing on both balance/ stability and strength, he uses different workout sets to boost variety with new moves.  I can easily finish 10K in one hour without a joint problem now,  workout three-time and running two days per week are a lot for me if this is two years ago, but now I feel more energetic and always look forward to my training sessions with him. he is an absolute professional, always on time,  incredibly positive and knowledgeable.   Give great advice on a healthy diet, workout recovery, and pain management.  I would highly recommend Ryan to anyone wanting effective fitness training.

Update: March 15, 2021

Ryan is the best personal trainer, all around!
Started back up (after a few years ago- review below) and have lost 10.6 lbs January 20- March 15! I will continue to count down towards my goal of losing 30 to 40lbs.
I honestly thought I would prefer in person vs online, but to my surprise LOVE the online training! I purchased weights, a mat, a ball and am all set for my workout sessions all from the comfort of my home. No distractions or excuses! My plan includes 4 days a week with Ryan online for 1 hour and 3 days personalized cardio on my own.
I really enjoy all the helpful advice from daily nutrition (including my personalized meal plan) to shoe recommendations, as well as everything in between! It has changed my life and workouts tremendously!
Thank you so much Ryan for truly caring and helping me to achieve my goals! It's always such a blast!!!

Previous review: October 2018-March 2019

Ryan has taught me so much about different workout techniques along with a personalised diet plan to follow. It's been six months since I started with him and I feel so much stronger, healthier, and so much more knowledgeable! He makes the whole experience fun with a great atmosphere. I would highly recommend him to anyone, friends and family!!!

Thank you Ryan!

Been meaning to write this review for a while now. One day I woke up 217 lbs and decided I needed to make a change. Signed up with Ryan and worked out with him 3 days a week at an affordable rate. After telling him my weight / health goals, he not only set up my work outs but also helped create a change in my diet and motivated me to do cardio work on my off days. Ryan has a talent for pushing you to your limits when you need pushing but also can tell when you’re hurting and need a break. After just one month I lost 5 lbs and lost another 4 lbs the second month. But more importantly he has set me up for a lifetime of success, not just a quick fix. I’m now stronger and noticeably healthier then I’ve been in years. Unfortunately Covid 19 forced him to close his physical location but he still offers online classes that are just as easy if not easier to do from home. Trust me, if you need a personal trainer you’ll have a hard time finding one better than Ryan.

Look no further, you've found your trainer. Ryan is amazing! From custom meal plan creation to nutrition advice on the fly, he made it easy for me to modify my eating habits. Workouts are great, hard enough to push me but not to defeat me. His other clients are awesome and it's a very comfortable environment. I truly felt a difference within 2 weeks and continue to feel (and SEE) a difference every week.

UPDATE: After 1 year of working with Ryan, I've lost nearly 70 lbs and we have built a sustainable lifestyle for me that will ensure my continued success. Why are you still reading this? Go! Call him! Change your life! DO IT.

ANOTHER UPDATE: Over 100 lbs down and I seriously cannot recommend Ryan enough. Call him now!

After a serious illness in 2018 that left me unable to do anything except sit and read or sleep, I became desperate to get back to feeling “alive”’. I saw a review of Pride Fitness in Kailua, and all of a sudden I realized that I needed a personal trainer who could tailor my workouts to me specifically. I have been working out under Ryan’s supervision for almost 3 months, and it’s wonderful to feel “alive” again. He is also helping me with my diet so that I can lose fat and build muscle. Ryan is fun, patient, kind and knowledgeable. He is changing my life.

I first began working with Ryan a couple years ago after completing my first marathon. I had never done any kind of strength training and in 3 months he had me in the best shape I’ve ever been in. I dropped over 15lbs while increasing muscle mass. More recently I began working out at home more and have been working online with Ryan. It has been great! Personalized plans geared to goals I have using the equipment I have at home. It makes it easy to get up and workout early without having to wonder what I should do each time. Thanks Ryan!

I have been working with Ryan for two months now and I have never felt better! Before I started at Pride Fitness with Ryan I worked out 4-5 days per week and ate fairly healthy. However, I didn't feel like I had energy, I wasn't at my healthy weight where I feel good at, I was getting frequent headaches and I went to the gym feeling like I was spinning my wheels. Ryan put me on a super reasonable meal plan and showed me some things about my diet that I could improve on, and had me increase my water intake. He started me on a fitness plan that was challenging but not anything over the top difficult that would have me feeling frustrated. And slowly but surely I have gained muscle, lost inches and I feel much leaner than before. What is great is that I have energy and haven't had a headache in a couple months. I just feel great! Ryan is super professional, knowledgeable, and motivating. He is very cautious about preventing injuries. His gym is organized, clean and not intimidating at all.
As a nurse practitioner I see so many people with preventable diseases, most of which could have been avoided by healthy diet and exercise. In my opinion there is no better money you could spend than on your health! Having a personal trainer like Ryan gives you the confidence that the time and effort you are putting into your workouts will yield results. He knows his stuff! I am so happy I started working with him!

I was skeptical when I first was talked into seeing Ryan at Pride Fitness for a consultation. After the Consultation I was extremely impressed with Ryan, his plan, his questions, and his understanding of my needs and goals. I had lower back pain and was 25 lbs overweight and hadn't exercised in some time and didn't have the focus to get going again with an exercise plan. By the end of the first week my back pain was gone and over the next several weeks I began to see great results not only in weight loss but in lean muscle mass. In 3 1/2 months I lost 20 lbs and never dieted but ate according to Ryan's plan without going hungry. At 55 I feel healthy and am thankful for Ryan's "life changing" plan and program without which I couldn't or wouldn't have achieved or seen the results I now enjoy. He's a "10" in the world of trainers and the incredible results he achieves with his clients.

I have been going to Pride Fitness for one and one half years and Ryan, the owner and personal trainer, is great. He works us hard but smart, meaning that if you are not young, he will taylor exercises so as not to injury you. Yet, you become fit do to rigorous exercises (free weights, balancing, etc) but instead make. He is extreme knowledgeable about various exercises to strengthen your body. Also, the first 15 or so minutes of the hour are spent on stretching and cardio to prepare you for the balance of the session. I highly recommend Ryan and Pride Personal Fitness.-

I am a career Registered Nurse looking at retirement. Last spring I realized that I was so out of shape that I might not be able to enjoy my retirement years. My husband, also a Registered Nurse, was feeling the same concerns. We needed to change but we needed help and direction. So I went searching. Ryan's website noted that he could focus on senior strength training and weight loss so we took a trip to his gym which ,by the way, is the cleanest gym I've ever attended. I also appreciated the privacy, since I was so out of shape.
One of the first questions Ryan asked us was what did we want from him and what were our expectations. He assured us that he could help us become stronger and that the weight would come off if we followed his plan. Ryan has done this and so much more.
Ryan expects you to COMMIT and holds you accountable every week. He does this with gentle but persistent prodding ( and humor) but he will NEVER let you SLACK!
We have a way to go, but we can tell you that if you want to change your lifestyle and get back on a healthy track, please visit Ryan and see how he can help you. We will always be grateful for what he has done for us. I highly recommend Pride Personal Training.

Ryan at Pride Personal Training is awesome. Just by watching me do a few different body movements, he was able to tell I was tight in some areas. And then he designed a workout program to address that. He also took into account my past injuries and built those areas up with resistance training before working them hard. In short, he took the time to get to know me, and then designed a program specifically for me. No cookie cutter workout routines here.
Bottom Line: I feel great. I'm working areas I never knew needed work, and am feeling much more fluid and strong overall. Thanks Ryan. Keep up the GREAT WORK!! - Mike Neilitz

I started working out at Pride a little over 2 months ago, and the results are amazing. I am a 64 year old female who has struggled all her life with running, and now I can run 2 miles effortlessly. I feel better and fitter all around, have more energy, and a more positive outlook on life in general. I feel 10 years younger and am in better physical shape than at any point in my life.
What I like most about Ryan, the owner, is his careful and very personalized approach. He is very mindful of avoiding injuries and adjusts any workout to personal conditions or limitations. He believes in long-term results and building up strength slowly.
I intend to keep working out with Ryan for a long time, because, as we age, good balance, flexibility, and strong bones become even more important.

I am proud to say I am his oldest client at almost 80 years old and he still works me hard, pushes me beyond what I think I’m capable of doing and celebrates my successes with me. When I started with Pride Fitness, I couldn’t lift my arms over my head and had a lot of pain. Before starting a workout program, the only "shape" I was in was "round" and "out of." My wife and I made a commitment to each other that we would do something about getting in to some other shape.

Enter Ryan. He has provided the guidance, support and the push needed to complete the workouts. He has given me the encouragement to continue when I was discouraged or tired. He has provided me the incentive to continue to workout by showing me results! After all, results are what count and he has worked me hard to achieve those results. Now I see and feel a difference in how I look, how I feel generally, and how I feel when I am active. I am not so round and I am feeling much better about myself.

To anyone serious about getting into shape, I highly recommend Pride Personal Training with Ryan. If you are serious, you will get serious results and Ryan will make the experience an excellent one. Thanks Ryan!

As I started to reach new levels with my golfing, I knew I had to do more than just practice to reach my full potential. I've always been very skinny and tall, so increasing my physical strength by adding muscle would be the perfect place to start. But what I didn't realize is how important proper training is. After starting to work out at my High School, I ended up breaking my ankle. I then realized I better start training with someone who knows what they're doing. I needed to find a trainer who could have me work really hard while keeping me from injuring myself. After I started working with Ryan I saw immediate improvement in my strength, flexibility, and how I felt. You do have to be very dedicated but when you're working with a a great trainer like Ryan, all of your hard work will pay off, and you might even be surprised like I was with how much I improved. Without Ryan Kridel at Pride Personal Training I don't think I could have won my state tournament by 5-shots and won the AJGA NATIONAL TOURNAMENT by 7-shots.

About a year-and-a-half ago, I returned home from a spring
vacation to find a Pride Personal Training promo card with
a Post-It note from a fellow traveler attached, upon which
he’d written, “This is the best personal trainer in the World.”
Apparently he thought I needed to get in shape.
I have been training with Ryan ever since, and am now no less
a champion of his personal training services than my abovequoted
friend. Ryan quickly assessed my needs, going beyond
the one I went in for, to lose weight (down 30 pounds to date),
and developed a meal plan and exercise program for me that
has resulted in my being not only lighter, but also stronger. I
feel much better than I did before starting with Ryan, and no
longer need blood pressure medication.
I’d encourage anyone to train with Ryan, even if weight is not
an issue, as the workouts simply make you feel better and
healthier. An additional plus is that Ryan is an entertaining
and engaging trainer. Working with him makes training an
enjoyable experience.

I am a person who has always known the importance of eating well and working out, but I haven't always found something that I enjoyed enough to stick with. When I started with Ryan at Pride Personal Training in the early Spring of 2012, I was excited to be trying a new approach to regular exercise, but worried that I would grow bored of it or find it too difficult -- just like everything else I've tried.

From the first time I met with Ryan for my complimentary consultation, I felt confident in his knowledge and abilities, and encouraged by his demeanor and the respect he showed me. Once I got started with regular sessions -- the fun began! I went in 2-3 times per week most weeks, and the part that REALLY surprised me was that I actually looked forward to going! Even on my worst days -- at least I didn't mind going! I never once, in the past 3 years, felt like it was a drag or dreaded going. I say this because this is an all-time first for me! Also, Ryan's food plan that he created for me was tasty and easy to follow -- what a pleasant surprise!

Prior to meeting Ryan, I had never found a gym, workout, or activity that I liked well enough to "stick with it". Ryan's workouts are both challenging and fun, and they vary often enough (a bit different each day, and a whole new workout every 2 weeks) to keep my interest. That, combined with the fact that I have an appointment each time -- with someone there waiting for me -- that I will pay for (or have already paid for) really motivated me to hang in there. I think I just needed that accountability piece. I also enjoy the fact that there are only ever 2-3 people in there at a time. Even though it is a gym for both men and women, for the highly trained athletes and regular people like me -- everyone I've encountered there has been interesting, kind, encouraging, and supportive.

I can honestly say that this is the best experience with exercise, diet and fitness I have experienced to date. Ryan is helpful and professional, but has a great sense of humor and keeps things light. From regular routines, to Tabata training, to boxing lessons -- it's all great exercise, and it's all great fun! And, now that Pride has moved into its newer, larger facility, there is even more space and even more equipment to take advantage of during your sessions!

With Ryan Kridel and Pride Personal Training, you're guaranteed to "Train Smart" & "Achieve Greatness"! Many thanks for the positive blessing you've been in my life, PPT!

I'm a 53 yr old woman, and I've been training with Ryan 3x a week for about 3 months so far, and I just wish I would have started with him years ago!

Thanks to Ryan, I've seen great progress toward my goals of weight loss, fitness and health, having lost over 23 lbs and 16" so far, while gaining muscle mass and losing body fat. I'm seeing and feeling muscles I never knew I had, and it's so exciting!!

Ryan pushes me hard (which I really need), and is understanding of my particular challenges. He's soooo encouraging and even though I sometimes wanna kill him, I keep coming back for more abuse - because IT WORKS!

The eating plan Ryan developed for me was a strange concept at first. I've always followed very lo-cal or lo-carb diets, but now I fuel my body - a lot of good food frequently throughout the day. I've come to love weight training and building muscle. It's a minor miracle to someone that's struggled for decades with obesity.

Ryan and his other clients are so positive and fun to work with! It was easy to get comfortable going there, which was important to me. Love Ryan's taste in motivating music too! That stuff matters.

Bottom line, I'm very impressed all-around with Ryan and his program. I've reprioritized my budget to make this happen, and I tell ya, he's worth every penny. It's changing my life, and I'm loving it!

I’m one of those people who always believed it was important to work out, but frankly never took it too seriously. I kind of always resented the time that it took to go to the gym. Then I started hearing from some of my friends and acquaintances about this really great work out trainer named Ryan Kridel at Pride Personal Training. So I thought, what the heck I’ll give it a try. That was almost a year ago and I now think it was one of the best decisions I ever made. Ryan is just one of those special people who everyone seems to like. He’s extremely knowledgeable about personal fitness, training and diet and always eager to share with you his expertise, while at the same time very humble, humorous and gentle in persuading you to achieve your best. His gym is attractive, neat and very clean. And as much as I hate to admit it, I almost look forward to working out now! Thanks Ryan!

Throughout my long career and success with golf, I have always knew that physical fitness was important, but I really never focused on it. I would just play other cardio sports and go to the gym once in a while, but I realized I needed to improve my physical strength to enhance my golf game. After a couple of my dear friends started working out with Ryan, I was immediately intrigued once I started working with him at the beginning of my junior year. I found a great trainer who knew exactly what he was talking about and I saw immediate results. After the first couple weeks my flexibility and body strength greatly improved. If you want great results, Ryan is your go-to-guy, but you must be very dedicated and cannot be afraid to be pushed to your limits. When you work hard with Ryan and stick to what he is telling you, you will get exactly what you expected. After a year of training with Ryan I feel like a different person; a much stronger, flexible, and more determined person. Ryan Kridel at Pride Personal Training has benefitted greatly to my success in golf and I do not think I would be a state champion, Multi-AJGA champion, and be bound to play college golf at Northwestern University without him.

Ryan was awesome and gave me exactly what I needed to succeed in a short period of time. I walked away with some awesome tools to keep me progressing on my own.

In January 2012 I had a horse accident which put me in the hospital with multiple pelvic fractures. I recovered from the accident, but I had lost quite a lot of muscle, strength, and balance, to say nothing of confidence. Two years later, in January 2014, I had the very good fortune to start working with Ryan. I was 15 pounds overweight and a lot weaker than I had ever been. Over the last six months I have slowly and steadily gained muscle, strength, flexibility, balance, and confidence. My fitness is better now than it has been since I was 25 years old. (I am 54.)

The most important thing to know about Ryan's program is that, while he pushes you to work, he doesn't ever seem to take you past what your body is actually capable of doing. He is very skilled at moving you along incrementally; his forte is to know what and how much a person can and cannot do, to keep them progressing but to never take them past the point of what they are capable of in any given session.

Here's how I know Ryan's program is excellent: Because of Ryan's skill and dedication, and knowledge of how to train, I have been able to get strong, balanced, flexible, and fit enough to get back in the saddle, and I never thought I would.

Ryan is truly an outstanding fitness trainer! I have worked with personal trainers for years and Ryan excels at all aspects of the profession. Pride Personal Fitness exceeded my expectations. The location is very convenient close to Providence Hospital with more than adequate parking.

Ryan is amazing as a trainer. He really cares about helping you to meet your goals, be safe and make changes that can be maintained for a lifetime. He has a great sense of humor! He can be a task master but he does it with a high five and a smile! I always felt supported.

I need to say, I have never enjoyed exercising and have never considered myself fit. I am 60 years old and my job is more sedentary than active. I just decided I wanted to feel stronger and I wanted my clothes to fit better. My goals were modest.
So about 8 weeks ago I found Pride Personal training on the Internet - and in that time I have lost weight, fat and lots of inches! More than that I have increased core strength and balance, and energy. My clothes fit better and I have been able to wear clothes a size smaller.

Ryan teaches you how to be independently healthy - he helped create a nutrition plan based on the foods I love and the foods I really need. I work out both at Pride and at home using equipment that is not expensive and a program that I can follow. I love the "diet" because it is all about eating smarter. And I still get to treat myself when I meet my goal!

If you want to make changes, you will do so much more with a trainer like Ryan than you will on your own. It's so worth every penny!

I am not one for big, corporate run, meat market gyms. To avoid that, Pride Fitness is the place to go! At Pride Fitness you get that one on one experience while in a comfortable and safe environment. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia a few years ago and it was hard to get back to my way of life. With Ryan and Pride Fitness that all changed. Ryan adapted my workout to avoid my pain triggers but still getting 110% out of my workout. If you have been thinking about getting a trainer or where to start, I highly recommend Pride Fitness. You will not be disappointed!

If you are searching for someone that will understand your goals and physical needs, Ryan at Pride Personal Training is the best. I have reached further than I had hoped in my physical fitness. I continue to push myself and Ryan knows me better than anyone how far I can be pushed.
My husband had always disliked working out and last year starting working out with Ryan and has lost weight and feels much better than he ever has, even when he was young.
Ryan can do an assessment of your body and your goals and help you reach them and have a good time along the way.

It is truly a pleasure to work out with Ryan every week. While he has extensive knowledge in the field of fitness and training, he is also one of the most heart-felt, honest, and inspirational people I know. During the course of my 5 months of training, I have gotten fit, gained confidence, and feel so much better from my regular individualized exercise programs that Ryan develops for me. Thank you Ryan for all that you do!
