Rebecca is the best! I have been training with her for six years and in that time I have lost 60 pounds and maintained that weight loss. I have more energy and feel better than I did 20 years ago. She is patient and encouraging and fun to work with. She challenges me to keep improving physically and I keep getting stronger and better at 74! If you are considering a trainer I highly recommend her.

She’s helping this 60 year old non-athlete become stronger! I’m learning to use my body without getting hurt. My hip, back and shoulder pain is not affecting my daily routine anymore. I’m having a great time working out with Becca!

Rebecca has been my fitness trainer for more than 3 years. As a sixty something who began working out later in life, my physical challenges were many: lack of mobility in the hips, knees, ankles and thoracic spine and elbow pain. My goals were to gain strength and have a well-functioning body. After 3 years of training, Rebecca’s report card is excellent: A for Strength; A for well-functioning body.
Let’s look at four examples where improper form or limited joint mobility were holding me back and how Rebecca coached me to overcome these limitations.
The first example was to perform two of the best all-around body exercises - the deadlift and squat. But first she had to convince me that I could do these safely without injuring my back. I had rejected previous trainers’ requests to perform these exercises. What changed with Rebecca was many discussions and practice protecting the spine, outside reading from Rebecca’s recommended reading list, the fact that she is a powerlifter herself and, after several months of training, my growing trust and confidence in her abilities. My deadlift 1 Rep Max went from 0 to 315 lb. and the squat 1 Rep Max went from 0 to 225 lb. My back and spine have never been hurt while doing these lifts. I feel my back and spine are better protected now because the back is stronger and the ingrained bracing habit extends outside the gym to wherever lifting motions are needed.
For mobility improvement, my initial squat depth had the upper legs at 45 degrees above parallel. Now, my squat depth gets to parallel. Mobility gains in the hips, knees and ankles were the reason. Rebecca is a master when it comes to stretching. With these gains in lower body strength and mobility, at a time when age-related declines start to creep in, it feels like the bio-mechanical clock turned back 10 years.
For the second example, Rebecca diagnosed improper shoulder position during the Lat pulldown – I was not packing my shoulders. Instead, I would hang by my shoulders and pull from that position. This was due to practiced movement patterns over a lifetime compounded by weak lats. Rebecca was unwavering on the form and kept after me. Today I am able to pack my shoulders for this and related exercises. This correction had a positive impact on my upper body strength and functioning.
For the third illustration, Rebecca noticed during the Lat pulldown I would rotate my upper arms to assist in the pulldown. This placed unnatural pressure on my elbow joints and led to the elbow pain. With this movement correction, my chronic elbow pain ceased. (Note: I visited an orthopedic surgeon regarding the elbow pain. The doctor proposed an injection and physical therapy. Neither the doctor, the physical therapist nor previous trainers diagnosed the improper movement pattern). Fixing the movement was a boost to strength; Resolving the pain was a boost to morale.
The final example features Rebecca’s approach to nerve pain in my right leg. She thought the sciatic nerve might be involved and suggested self-myofascial release techniques (foam rolling) that targeted the deep gluteal muscles. In my case, the targeted self-myofascial release therapy found an extremely sensitive (painful) area. After focusing on this area for one week, the sensitivity to therapy subsided and the leg pain ceased! It has not returned. Another boost to my well-being!
My training examples demonstrate that an effective trainer must have a range of skills and knowledge. Rebecca is knowledgeable in body mechanics, strength training, stretching, myofascial release and has a strong educational foundation with a 4-year Exercise Science degree. No one should settle for less.
These are some of the highlights of my training journey with Rebecca. After 3 years of meaningful strength and mobility gains and the elimination of pain sources, I have a deep appreciation for Rebecca as a trainer and a person. Your journey will be different but it can be just as productive! Give Rebecca a call.

Becca has been my personal trainer for several years and she is the best of the best! She motivates through kindness, humor, and hard work, and is a joy to spend a couple hours with every week moving bodies and meeting fitness & nutrition goals!! She also spends hours planning nutrition and workout plans that are up with the most scientific data available, which is refreshing and real.
I've always enjoyed my sessions with Becca and am so excited to see her branching out to her own beautiful studio space. She keeps the routines fun, listens to your goals (and your concerns) and modifies according to your body type and fitness level.
Truly a great trainer and person who will help you meet your fitness goals, no matter what they may be!

I trained with Rebecca at 24 Hour Fitness from the summer of 2017 to the spring of 2020. I felt at ease with Rebecca from our first meeting as she has a very clam, friendly and reassuring personality. She listened to my goals and developed a program for me based on my ability and fitness. Rebecca had a great talent for challenging me to test my limits while making the whole process fun. She has an in-depth understanding of the human body and how it relates to range of motion, physical strength and overall health. She also has an extensive knowledge of exercise variations and techniques, and she continuously furthers her education. Rebecca is a great communicator and was able to adjust her instructions to what was easiest for me to understand. I started training with a goal to improve my overall fitness, but with Rebecca’s encouragement, I challenged myself to complete a Spartan Race. That goal seemed intimidating at first, but she guided me through a specific training program that prepared me for success. After the first Spartan Race, I then trained to complete a Spartan Trifecta in 2019. Again, Rebecca prepared me very well for the challenge, and it was extra fun as we both were on the same team for the Spartan Trifecta races. Rebecca is a competitive powerlifter, and after watching her train, I became interested in trying it too. I started training with her to learn the powerlifting fundamentals, and then I joined a powerlifting team and continued my training with the team. I now compete in powerlifting events! Rebecca became a friend and mentor who helped me reach goals beyond my wildest imagination. I’m thankful that we crossed paths.
I highly recommend Rebecca as a personal trainer. I am confident that she can work with a client of any age, health or fitness level to help them achieve their goals. I watched her open her own fitness studio and am sure it is a first-rate and safe facility.

I started out as a 73 year old weakling and Rebecca has moved me to a 75 year old progressing powerlifter, taking into account my personal physical issues with my back, which causes some limitations. She is always cheerful and optimistic, gently pushing me to improve.
