Feels like a pretty tight course with lots of elevation changes and slanted fairways. Fun course though. Make sure you hit STRAIGHT.

Sharing some feedback about my sonβs experience at your course today. He is 17, drives a truck responsibly every day, and came excited to play a full round of 18 holes after work. Unfortunately, he was denied the ability to rent a cart due to being under 18. While I understand there may be liability concerns, the end result was that he paid for 18 holes that he likely could not finish on foot.
From a parentβs perspective, this feels unfair. My suggestion is that courses consider allowing a parent or guardian to sign a waiver of responsibility for a licensed driver under 18. That would create a reasonable middle ground that still protects the course while allowing young golfers, who are the future of the sport, to fully enjoy their round.

The River's Edge offers a picturesque golfing experience for enthusiasts. Its stunning views of both the mountains and the city create a memorable backdrop. The course provides a challenge that seasoned golfers will appreciate. At the same time, it ensures a fun and engaging game for everyone. You'll surely enjoy your time there.

Loved our round of golf at River's Edge. Our family of 4 played best ball and the pace of all groups was good. Marshall was very nice and inviting and drink cart was timely. We ordered hotdogs at the turn we're ordered via the QR code in the cart.
Overall our kids and my wife and I had a great time, next time we're in Bend, we'll be back!

Great layout and would recommend to anyone visiting this area. I played on a Thursday in July and there was not cart person. I would recommend not renting clubs from the course due to them being generic and not maintained.
7-7-25...Killed some time at the driving range. Plenty of room. Looking forward to my Thursday tee time.
7-10-25. Course was in great shape. Four hours to play (absolutely not complaining).

Starter was very nice. Course was very difficult, even playing from up tees. Requires lots of precision, lot of holes donβt require driver. Cart recommended. Conditions were good. Greens are very cool.

This is probably top 5 worst courses Iβve ever played. The condition of the course is an embarrassment and if I were the GM I would find a new profession. Itβs a fun layout sure, but seriously guys? Do you care to repair or even maintain the greens. Carts are falling apart, greens are harder than concrete and bumpier than punched greens. Tee boxes are damaged beyond belief and unlevel. If youβre thinking of playing here do yourself a favor, donβt waste your money because I wish I could get mine back. Play a better course like aspen lakes or eagle crest, you wonβt regret it

I really like this place, everyone is so friendly and there are so many challenging greens that are so much fun. I left my Bluetooth speaker (Blue tees) in the cart this morning and I still haven't found it. I hope whoever took it will return it to the office.

This golf course has undergone remarkable transformations since the homeowners purchased it! In particular, the past year has been nothing short of spectacular. My husband and I golf here at least three days a week, and itβs simply breathtaking! If youβre visiting Bend or a local who hasnβt been in a while, you must check it out. You wonβt be disappointed. I even walk my one-year-old through the 18 holes, and he absolutely loves seeing all the wildlife, especially the deer. You should really check it out!

Honestly a difficult course due to the change in elevation. But the two stars come from lack of direction or signs to point you towards the next hole unlike any other course I have played. The greens were a lil messed up. The cart girl was probably the best experience, she was frequently showing up like the most Iβve ever seen from any other course. Like I said just getting completely lost in where to go was ever so frustrating. The fairway had so many divets and random spots of just messed up patches.

Course management is a bit rough around the edges. The practice areas (putting green and driving range) are a mere token of what they used to be. It's Central Oregon, with vast amounts of sunshine, why can't you grow some grass? The course is decent but water mismanagement has alot of wet spots (played after noon on an 86 degree day) and dead spots and fungus on the greens. Lastly, they have a cart pickup and return policy that doesn't allow you to drive the cart in the parking lot. This forces you to lug your clubs from the car to the cart and from the cart return to your car. Total BS. Most if not all public courses in Central Oregon allow carts in the parking lot which allows you to conveniently start and end the round. Small details yes, but a customer satisfaction issue. This course was a gem 25 years ago. Let's hope the homeowners ownership gets their act together and brings it back to the condition it was then.

Wanted to get out and try this course considering itβs 10 minutes away from my house and for 50 bucks for 9 holes I thought it was going to be up to par with the other courses around bendβ¦ the t boxes were sloped and some barely had grass, some of the greens had a βwaste areaβ in the center of them and the bunkers barely had enough sand in them to hit out of themβ¦ I really wish this course was a gem for the price, but the only good thing about it was the trackman on the range.

Played 9 holes at 5pm and it cost $65 per person. We thought we would splurge and expected the course to match the price. DEFINITELY DID NOT. Upon arrival in the golf shop, I wasnβt greeted by the service rep, he just asked when our tee time was. As well, he wasnβt friendly, didnβt direct to me the cart I should take, nor where the first tee time. As a former golf sales manager, I wouldnβt be pleased if this was the first interaction my guests had. There were signs everywhere noting that carts werenβt allowed in the parking lot, but there was no one manning bag drop. Lastly, the course was in horrific condition with very dead grass, holes everywhere, and unkempt conditions. Wonβt be returning and would recommend that you try out Old Back Nine!!
Update: Course management refunded the full amount which is appreciated.

Thought the course layout was good. Course has an infestation of chipmunks and ground moles with holes everywhere. If we saw 10 we saw at least 100 scurrying everywhere. There was animal feces on many tees. Course condition was poor with dead areas on many greens and fairways. It was obvious that the course isnβt cared for. It was the second time in 50 years of playing that I walked off after 9 holes. The staff refused a full refund for my wife and me for the 9 holes we didnβt play. Pretty unhappy with this experience!!

Ist time playing RE and enjoyed how technical the course is setup. The occasional tier-greens were very interesting. Golf carts are setup nicely with GPS, built-in coolers and ball & club cleaners. The only downside of the 1st-time experience was the Grill. Food was mediocre and it took an extraordinary amount of time for the food to be prepped and brought out. Case in point, my order of a simple hot dog ended up with the dog coming out relatively promptly, but it took almost 30 minutes for the french fries to come out. One of our group ordered the prime rib sandwich (one of the speciald) and it took forever for a meager sandwich to come out with a small handful of soggy Fries. Salt in the wound... guests the came in before us were served before us. (Perhaps they preordered via the phone or Q Code provided in the golf cart. Thr staff seemed overwhelmed. A sad ending to what was a good day on the links.

Picked this course for a bachelor party. 11 of us plus a rider. I called almost a month early and talked with a guy that said its was fine to have a rider. Once we checked in today he said that we couldn't have a guy ride ( guy just had surgery and couldn't golf) because of not enough carts. But then proceeds to say if he pays the full charge of $75 to golf he could have a cart.?! At least have a charge for a cart maybe? 15 carts sitting when we started and more when we left. Course wasnt busy at all. Didn't sit well considering we spent a good $1,500-$1,800 with beers food etc. for our group. Customer service inside was TERRIBLE- best part was the starting marshal and the course itself. Im not one to leave a review but as business owners ourselves we thought someone would want to know. Course itself was challenging and good shape. Fun time golfing just wish it didn't start poorly.

I HAVE PLAYED R.E. AS MY HOME COURSE 11 OF THE PAST 15 YEARS.
THE ORIGINAL DESIGN OF THE COURSE IS OUTSTANDING, BUT MAINTENANCE HAS ALWAYS BEEN AN ISSUE, WITH BEING PENNYWISE AND POUND FOOLISH. I WOULD RATHER PAY 20% TO 30% MORE IN ANNUAL DUES IF THE TRADEOFF IS A COURSE MAINTAINED AS IT SHOULD BE.
EXAMPLES:
#15 GOLD TEE BOX WAS COMPLETELY RENOVATED A FEW YEARS AGO THEN ALLOWED TO DETERIORATE SIMPLY FOR LACK OF WATER.
SOME AREAS WERE SEEDED BUT NOT ROPED OFF AS GUR ALLOWING CARTS TO DESTROY THE SEEDING. ON #12 THEY DID ROPE OFF AND IT IS FILLING IN WELL.
BUNKERS IN GENERAL NEED TO BE RAKED REGULARLY AS THE QUALITY OF THE SAND IS TERRIBLE (EXCEPT #10) AND HEAVILY COMPACTED.
IN SHORT, IGNORING A LOT OF LITTLE THINGS CREATES BIG PROBLEMS.

Friendly staff! Course itself lends to a balance of challenge and fun design. The only reason this is 4 stars and not 5 is due to the effect the wildlife has on the course. Too many gopher holes and geese droppings on some holes. HOWEVER we did see SEVEN deer and THREE 9 point bucks. Definitely felt like another planet. Worth the price.

Quirky layout, tough to play for the first time with the blind tee shots. Small greens recently plugged and sanded that was not mentioned, a couple interesting pin placements that allowed balls to fall in behind the cup. No way to wash balls, new carts should have the option. Would not be rushing back here to play again. There is lots of work being done on the course, but there are much better options in the area. Drink cart over serving the bachelor party in front of us made for a really long round.

The course is in miserable condition. Seems like too much has been spent on non essentials and too little on the course. Practice area is in terrible condition and the putting green has been terribly neglected. Not to mention several of the course greens and the horrible timber staircases. I played this course growing up and came back after 15 years. Current state of this facility is very disappointing. Signs everywhere claiming youβre only paying for half a golf cart. I assume that means they would charge me $20 for a cart and could still force me to share it with a stranger. Ok course. But I wonβt be back as long as this golf cart policy is in place. Playing with strangers can be fun, and is part of golf. Being forced to share a cart with a stranger is a different animal entirely, and something that would massively detract from my enjoyment.

Really good local course. Was skeptical to book here just because of some reviews and because of what I heard from some locals but it seems to me that it was just cry babies posting reviews. Is the course perfect? No. But the greens are in great shape minus a few minor spots from the winter (just like literally every course in the area), the fairways are fine, again minus the spots they're working on which isn't nearly enough to be a problem. Only real criticism from me would be 1. The tee boxes could use some leveling but that's obviously easier said than done and 2. The paper towels in the bathroom are too thin and fall apart haha

Riverβs Edge is a challenging golf course because of its location on Aubrey Butte. The layout of some holes is difficult because of the slope. When I played on August 24, many of the tee boxes were not in good shape. They were not very flat and not recently mowed. Also, the grass tee area of the driving range was in terrible condition. Buyer beware! Shady practices all around. Made an online reservation through Chronogolf and was told we could reschedule. When I attempted to do so I was forced to call the clubhouse. Then I got the runaround and only Pat, the clubhouse manager, could reschedule. After calling multiple times, finally got ahold of Pat, who could not accommodate our schedule and offered to cancel the tee time and refund our money. He repeatedly reassured me that he would personally make sure that Chronogolf refunded our money. I was not refunded a few days after the tee time was originally scheduled and called Pat again. He again said he would "fix things" and call or email me back by the end of the day. A week went by and he did not call, email, or have our money refunded. I called the clubhouse and left 4 messages over the past week. Guess who still hasn't returned any messages? Avoid the hassle and golf at a different course in the Bend area.

The course is in horrible condition, the ground squirrels and rock chucks have taken over. The greens are like putting on a plinko board. I can't say that I particularly like the course. It's on the side of a hill, it's a hike, and often times good shots take bad bounces because of this. The views are nice and it is well maintained but I can't think of a hole that I really like and I wouldn't play it again without a cart. It's got a nice putting green, a great deck to have food it a drink, and really friendly staff. Great place to stop by after work for a quick drink.

Cool layout. I played the ridge course, the greens were horrendous for the price. $79 green fee for greens that felt like $29 greens. Wouldnβt play here again just for that reason. They also over water before the greens which making a few spots throughout the course muddy.

Well...let's start with the positive. A couple of ladies in the ProShop were pleasant at check-in and regarding a charge error. Now, for the not-so-positive: Wow! If you're wanting to play a course that is worth your $$$, avoid this track. I'm sure facility staff are trying to do their best with the resources they are provided....but, there were a couple of holes with tee boxes (Gold Tees) that had been plugged (in July?) and were growing weeds. Another hole had a green with grass that burned, meaning we were putting over dirt. Of course, had we been told this at check-in...may have passed on the round. The cost was $86 for 18/cart. We played the Woodlands at Sunriver the day before...$95 for 18/cart, with a course that was virtually pristine. So....until there is evidence that these issues are figured out, would recommend checking out other tracks!

This is the Goat Hill of Bend. Owner clearly doesnt care, or at least doesnt want to spend the money. Coarse has been in real poor shape for awhile now. Even if they did take the time to fix things up, the front 9 is built on the side of a hill and feels like it was forced into an area that was never meant for a golf coarse. All for the completely outrageous price of $70, its a $35 coarse AT BEST. Your money is better spent at literally any of Bends other coarses.

It looks like they are going to sell to a developer, which is a shame. Fun course, traps aren't maintained, but then don't hit into them. Very hilly but the greens are in very good shape. Incredible views of the valley and mountains behind. Gal in clubhouse was very friendly and all in all a fun experience.

Semi-challenging course which I found to be enjoyable. Iβd say it was priced on the high end but it is desert golf and requires constant watering especially this time of year. Pace of play was good for mid-week.

I would not recommend this course to anyone unless the price for 18 holes is $10.00 or less. The course is not well maintained and not worth the price. I was looking forward to a nice round of golf on Friday, June 16th 2021, but found many aspects of the course undesirable and left the course in disappointment. The views are amazing on the course, but the course is not taken care of. If you have time, I would highly recommend going elsewhere. Additionally, I was overcharged by the pro shop and have been unable to obtain a refund because I am not able to make into the pro shop as I was visiting Bend from Portland. I spoke with Elaine on the phone, she was extremely rude and not helpful. Overall, after playing the course and interacting with staff that do not hold a high standard of customer service, I would recommend you go to another course in the Bend area.

Very disappointed. We were charged top dollar $79 green fee for a course that is a $35 a round max experience. The golf cart fee was ridiculous. $17 per seat. The cart seats had big tears and holes, the fenders were cracked or completely broken. The course grass was burned out to bear dirt in a number of areas on all fairways. The greens, the #11 the worst, had grass burned/dead areas to dirt (10 X 6 ft) Several of the sand bunkers were full of grass and weeds. The real problem, all the fairways have been infested with ground burrowing Beldingβs ground squirrels (Sage Rat). Lost my ball down one of their holes on the #10 fairway. Save your money and golf somewhere else in the Bend Oregon area.

Challenging course that is quite well maintained (despite some inaccurate recent reviews). There is lots of construction going on near the course which does reduce the ambiance a bit. We had a spectacular day on this course though. Provided it doesn't sell out and become a 9 hole, I would definitely recommend.

I was in town for the day with no schedule so I decided to check out this course. I was able to get in mid-week with little notice and play the back 9. Itβs a really nice and entertaining municipal course. The back 9 are newer and thereβs much more terrain and elevation change to keep things interesting. My best joke was getting a or on 12. I made the green on my second shot and took par on the hole.

Speechless!!! Came to Bend to get away and relax. I am a veteran and Alex was very generous with a discount. At first was bummed the golf boards werenβt available, but Alex was such a great staff member and made us feel so welcome and excited to play at this course anyways. Thank you Alex !! π

They treat the customers very poorly. Not a good experience and I would never golf here again. We had a major issue of grounds crew always in the way on every hole. After the round I made them aware how unhappy we were and they seemed bothered I complained. That is so unprofessional and no way to run any kind of business.
I would avoid this course for that reason.

Course condition very good, tee time spaceing good, golf carts very old, very hilly terrain, you don't want to walk, prices just ok, scenic views, North, South and East.

We didn't mind paying $200 to play golf.. we did mind the staff who were saying profanity on the golf cos course. We did mind the fact that we rented a goo golf cart and couldn't drive on atleast 6 fairways and no one told us. We mind that over half the fairways were in terrible shape. The worst we have ever played on infact. We still drive to Prineville tio okay again next time.

The place is not cheap, $180 for two people with 1 cart, but for whatever reason their course was in terrible shape, not sure if it was the construction around there or the animals but not worth the price of admission........

First course I have played in Central Oregon. I was a bit frustrated with the employees. They had limited carts for use and some groups grabbed them even though our tee time was before theirs. The course was in decent shape and was happy with the conditions. Btw limiting beer amount to only two beers per person. Knowing that there is no beverage cart on the course is annoying. I'm not a 21 year old at the bar trying to get hammered. Let me be an adult and make that decision.

Course is in rough, "GUR" condition in many spots. For same price I'd say Widgi Creek is in pristine condition! I'm not sure what course the other reviewers were playing!! Course is a tough walk. Nice variability on the holes. Too many new cookie cutter homes ruins the ambience too.

Played here today and the course is in excellent condition and I had a good time. I didnt have a teetime to start with and the pro shop staff met me at the drop off area and offer me a cart and she was very friendly and of course the Marshall's name Jeff was also great, to make it short it's a 5 star...

I love Rivers Edge, I went to bend for a birthday weekend and decided to go golfing while I was there. I chose River's Edge for the unique Geographic layout but this course played so fun. I have to thank the management for letting me tee off solo at 7:30 a.m. on a Saturday and letting me play by myself for what would be honestly the highlight of my weekend this course was fun it was in fantastic shape, it was a challenge but so much fun, and I enjoyed my day. I would highly recommend playing this course anytime you're in Bend

Great choice for golf, close in to Bend. Challenging course in good shape. Pro shop staff is helpful and friendly (none of that resort course attitude found at more expensive courses 15 miles south of Bend).
Front 9 fun and easier than hilly back 9. Pace of play excellent, both rounds I played were under 4 hours. Affordable.
Only reason I knocked off star 5 was the abundant water hazards were dry. Not sure why, fairways and greens were in excellent shape.

I have played Riversedge over the years on many random occasions ever since I was a high handicapper. Back then I played the white tees and found the course to challenge me but not chase me off by impossible shots and to much trouble tee to green ... In more recent years I have really enjoyed the friendly welcome, the attention to detail, the care of the course and the value they offer to all skill levels as well as the challenge from the tips. Go play!
And ask about the 19th hole Reef flip-flops that I bought from the pro shop.
Thank you Troy and Debbie and team. See you soon when I am back in town!

I have been golfing at Rivers Edge for 10 years One of the most challenging courses I've ever played in the last three or four years has become one of the best courses I've ever played the staff there are phenomenal friendly and some of the most personal people I've ever met I wouldn't think about joining anywhere else. Thank you Troy and Debbie for all the great times that I've had and I look forward to many more

What a beautiful course! I am so glad we played here on our vacation to Bend. I felt the hillside slopes were a plus to any drive. The greens were fabulous and we saw wildlife on almost every hole. The elevation changes, the ponds, and the natural landscaping added so much to the course. I am not a great golfer but felt very comfortable playing this course and did well enough to want to go back. I highly recommend this course and can't wait to play it next time.
