I was encouraged to join Susie Mclagan‘s original hot yoga by her daughter Chelsea about two years ago. This has been one of the best decisions I’ve made in a long time for my health and fitness. First and foremost Susie is a highly qualified and superb instructor. She is very intuitive about each students needs and tailors her instruction specific to that person.
I read a brief article on her website about how Yoga can improve bone density, Well, I’m A 71 year old woman and I’m here to tell you it’s absolutely true. I recently had a bone density scan and it showed I’m no longer in the osteoporosis range, with 17.3% improvement over my last scan. I contribute most of this to Susie’s original hot yoga class- I also do weight-bearing recreation which also helps.
Thank you Susie for bringing your skill and indelible mark to Baker City.💜

I went to my 1st hot yoga class as a total yoga neophyte. I have a sometimes uncooperative knee and another new woman had a similar shoulder. Susie prompted both of us into alternatives and was extremely patient and kind. There were very experienced practitioners right on down to beginners like me. Besides loving how the hot yoga made me feel, I sincerely appreciate that I was made to feel as much a part of the group as anyone else there. The studio is spotless and Susie is a gem!

Susie and the other instructors are the best, so knowledgable and encouraging. The studio has a great vibe; everyone leaves their busy multi-tasking lives at the door to step into the calm (I mostly do the Original Hot Yoga). The classes are challenging enough that the “monkey mind” actually stops bouncing around for a whole 60-90 minutes at a time, and the heavy sweating is good for the skin. With a single yoga class you get the benefits of the gym, a meditation center, and a spa/sauna!

Where do I begin? Susie is so motivating and now I don’t want to ever miss a class with her. Whether you want to try yoga or Pilates, you will get your butt kicked either way. If you’re worried about whether or not you can handle the heat, just give it a try, and listen to her words. 😉 There are so many fun and inspiring people that attend these classes which is yet another reason to join a class.
