Chris has been my first real experience having the expert guidance of a Trainer to improve my fitness, and I was impressed.
Chris guided me with specific exercises to strengthen supporting muscles that had weakened as part of the collateral damage around an arthritic hip joint. His approach was quite different than I expected going into this but the results were very helpful.
I naively thought I would be lifting heavy weights but the exercises he recommended were very specific and targeted to strengthening the muscles I had been neglecting because of my hip pain. After several months with Chris's direction, I am now better equipped to continue training on my own in a much more targeted way for continued improvement.
I will not hesitate to contact Chris in the future for guidance or support if my personal efforts prove insufficient.
I highly recommend Chris as a personal trainer or coach. He has the practical expertise, a no-nonsense strategy based on your personal needs and the right amount of empathy where needed.

In a few short months, Coach Chris has me ready to jump back into my recreational sports hobbies. After years of “I’ll work out tomorrow” flew by I knew I needed to find a professional to keep me accountable, teach me the correct techniques, and make sure I don’t overdo it and injure myself (a reoccurring habit). Coach Chris quickly assessed my current fitness level and fitness goals, and over the last few months not only have the weights increased in the gym, but outside of the gym I have more energy, my posture is better, and I simply feel more functionally fit. Coach Chris has easily exceeded my expectations.

I went to Chris because I wanted to learn Olympic Weightlifting and, let me tell you, I went to the right person. I had no idea how technical and complex the snatch and the clean + jerk movements really were, and he broke them down into easily digestible pieces for me to work on. Over the course of 4 months he built up my strength, technique, and overall fitness. He even drove up all the way to Portland to coach me at a competition there! With his depth of knowledge and experience, he guided me through what otherwise would have been an incredibly nerve-wracking situation and helped me lift numbers I never thought possible.
Overall, whatever your fitness goals are, you can't go wrong with Chris. He'll help you get there in a fun, friendly, and encouraging way. He's down-to-earth, flexible, and also offers online training, which I plan to take advantage of when prepping for my next comp. So go reach your fitness goals with him!

Chris is a low key but encouraging trainer, and a friendly guy. He has taught me correct form on the exercises and helped me get stronger, doing more than I ever imagined. He also listens to me if I need to back off, but still makes the workout count! I was a little nervous going to a trainer, but it's been a great experience and now I know what to do when I go to a gym. I have no regrets.

Now I understand why having a personal trainer is so important. I was interested in starting a weight-training program from total scratch as a mom in her late 40s. I wondered if going this route was worth it, or if I should just join a club or a class. I tried a free session or two around town, and after pulling a muscle in my neck badly enough to feel it for the better part of a week, I was back.
After a few months, I now have enough confidence and the skills to walk into a gym or a class and hold my own. With Chris’s help I have built a foundation for my practice: I’m “in it,” now, and there is no going back (which is saying a lot for someone who went from a few years of no exercise to 3x/week). I’m physically stronger, too. I can pick up my four year old without straining my back, which was something I’d hoped to carry on doing for as long as I can.
Chris is a great person, very professional and focused, and also relaxed enough to let me bring my kiddo in, which I know my little one will miss. It was fun, it kept me accountable, and I am closer now to reaching my goal of being stronger and healthier for life.

Chris is a great coach. He took into consideration my limited strength starting out and made me feel comfortable as we progressed in my training. He has really encouraged me to challenge myself!

Chris is a an excellent personal trainer. Given is professional experience, he knows how to structure workouts to meet individual goals. Every session I have with him is different, yet it follows a consistent theme. I never get bored, yet I am consistently gaining strength in my legs and torso as my goals are related to increasing vertical leap.
Whether your goals are modest, like losing weight or gaining overall fitness, or more aspirational, he is experienced enough to deliver. This along with his excellent private workout facility separate him from other trainers I have seen at local gyms.
In person he is a great motivator as well.

The Corvallis Strength Training Studio stands out as a great private workout facility, and Chris, the trainer, is an expert in his field. My decision to start training with Coach Chris stemmed from a desire for a conveniently located gym near my office, but what I've gained far exceeds my initial expectations.
The personalized attention and one-on-one training sessions have contributed significantly to my progress. Despite not being a dedicated weight lifter, Chris has tailored a program for me that focuses on enhancing my overall strength and endurance.
The studio itself is immaculate, providing a refreshing and motivating environment for workouts. The efficiency of the routines ensures that every minute spent there is productive and rewarding.

After 6 months of working out at the Iron Beaver, I am now fully dedicated and a bit "addicted" to transforming my health, body, and mindset. I currently do three, one hour, personal training sessions per week and am excited to add in more.
My perception of a weightlifting studio has completely changed thanks to Coach Chris. I told him right off about my apprehensions and he immediately made me feel very comfortable and at ease by showing interest in my personal life and goals. I can tell he is listening and cares.
He constantly challenges me and pushes me to my limits. I am very surprised and happy with the dramatic changes to my body and self confidence. I highly recommend Chris to anyone looking for a personal trainer that will help you achieve long lasting results. I like thinking of myself as a weight lifter now!

I cannot say enough about Chris and his professionalism. It’s intimidating to walk into a private weightlifting gym for the first time. Chris is so calm and puts you right at ease, he is non judgmental and inspires motivation in you. Do not get me wrong he makes you work but it is amazing to watch yourself transform into a strong human being no matter your size or shape.
I used to have to visit my chiropractor because my ribs would go out. I’ve been to the Chiro once since working out with him and that had nothing to do with my back. My core is so strong now, it’s amazing. I can do lunges with my back leg elevated. Who knew?!
Chris knew 😁 and he helped me train to get there.

Iron Beaver is a welcoming, close-knit community. Chris is a wonderful coach and has dedicated much of his life to making the Iron Beaver facility and weightlifting team what they are today. All of the coaching staff are very knowledgeable and have the experience/credentials to back it up.
I originally came to Iron Beaver two years ago for help with fixing my overall lifting technique and start training Olympic lifts. Chris gave me some extra attention initially to get familiar with the Olympic movements and is responsible for significantly improving my weightlifting form and performance. He provides specific, actionable feedback without overwhelming beginners and programs just the right amount of "suck" into each workout.

Chris is a top notch trainer! I contacted him with specific goals in mind and a short time to achieve those goals. I have no experience lifting but have been an avid runner. He went above and beyond to help me reach those goals but more importantly I learned a great deal during the process. Chris is highly educated and that along with his personal experience and time in the business really set him apart. His style is genuine, encouraging, educational and professional. I enjoyed my time so much that I got my 14 year old son in the gym. Chris quickly adapted to our teen and it has been a very rewarding experience. Chris came highly recommended to me and I would highly recommend him to others.

Chris is a great teacher and motivator. He is very patient and he makes sure I am properly doing the exercises with good form. I have never been one to enjoy working out with other people in fear of being judged. However, I have no issue here. Chris has great communication and is a down to earth dude. I am happy with the results thus far and look forward to any future progress.

I've been going to Iron Beaver for about 6 months now. In that time, I've watched my life and my body change in front of my eyes. I finally have a place where I don't feel judged, and I have someone to help and support me while achieving my goals. My goal is to be strong for my young kids. I want to be able to keep up with them as they get older. I want to be an example of a strong woman for them. Chris is helping me achieve the body I've always wanted. He's there to help me lift correctly so I don't injure myself. He's also there to push me to the next level when my mind tells me I might not be ready. Most important, he's my personal cheerleader when I think I can't do one more rep. Chris has a gift for pushing you into a mind frame of "I can do that", its a very special gift. I am getting personal training but in a small group setting, and it's the actual best thing I have done for myself!! I highly recommend Iron Beaver and Coach Chris!!

I started training with Chris at Iron Beaver Weightlifting when my CF/Functional Fitness gym reopened after the first 2020 shutdown but with no barbell access. Lucky find for me - I was looking to lift weights for fun and a good workout and I found a great and caring coach. I work with Chris individually which has been awesome during COVID and as gyms have opened up again. And, I am so much stronger now with programming that Chris designs for me so that I make gains without injury and I feel successful. I have a small home gym, I've worked out in garage gyms, globo gyms, CrossFit and lots of other styles. I make better progress both in my fitness and in technique when I have someone who works with me specifically on cues/confidence/technique. Chris is a total professional and I appreciate what he does for individual coaching clients like me to help make faster, safer and better progress toward fitness goals. If you haven't tried weightlifting before, it is so awesome to learn in a small, personalized environment where you can ask questions. As I've progressed into being more of an intermediate lifter, it's been great to work with someone who knows exactly how to help me get to a new level.

I started a contract there and had one session. Then my life changed and I wasn't able to continue because I ended up moving out of the area. I emailed to cancel my contract, but the next month I still was charged. I contacted Chris who said I needed to do it through his website (which he could have told me when I emailed him regarding the cancellation in the first place). Fine, so I did that. Now I am STILL getting charged! I have tried to contact him but he no longer responds to emails. If the charge continues, I may have to resort to legal means. I cannot recommend this business.
Edit/Update: I finally did receive a communication that explained the circumstances and a refund; I am satisfied with the resolution.
