The teacher and assistant were abusive. I had to stop attending a class.

Love this place. I've started driving past several yoga studios closer to home just to come here.

Exactly what a yoga studio should be: a welcoming space with skilled and helpful teachers. They offer a variety of classes - vinyasa and hatha flows as well as more restful options like yin and restorative. They are frequently putting on workshops, the ones I've done have felt like a good value. I've noticed that people of all ages/genders/races are often in attendance which is a sign of a good place imo. Very affordable compared to other studios in town, I highly recommend.

Mirrorless studio with knowledgeable and mind-body connection focused instructors is why this is one of my favorite yoga spots in town. I've brought several friends new to yoga to this studio, and the morning flows are especially beginner friendly.

Accessible, welcoming, and a beautiful studio tucked away in an alley for some relief from the busy city. The studio set up is intentional and creates ease for students upon walking in. I visited for a class with April and loved it - hoping to be back!

Was in town visiting and went to a noon all levels Hatha yoga class with Jenna Darfler. The class was great! The studio was beautiful and it was so easy to drop in by booking through MindBody. Also appreciate the affordability of dropping in for 1 class. Highly recommend this studio and hope to return on future trips. Parking was easy to find and they also have mats you can borrow.

I've been a member here for almost 7 years now and it feels like a second home for my body and spirit. Class offerings are affordable and diverse, there are great community vibes, the teachers are knowledgeable, kind and provide a wonderful experience! I always feel so wonderful in my body after a class. Yoga is for everybody! And at People's they hold true to that!

The People's Yoga is one of the best spaces to practice yoga. Taking restorative is my favorite class. It helps me slow down and keeps me in the moment.

I joined for the trial month as I was in town for two weeks and the cost was still affordable. I enjoyed a lot of classes both in person and online, and took a few of the online classes even after I had gone back home. Each teacher taught me something and I enjoyed the diversity.

I have never experienced a more parasitic yoga membership experience! What would be an acceptable studio experience is completely tarnished by their membership terms and conditions, which are completely inflexible and are written with no regard to a persons financial struggles. First, you are required to submit to automatic payments for a minimum of 3 months. There is absolutely no way out of this agreement once made, so be prepared to pay an outrageous $85 a month for minimal class options. After informing them of unexpected financial difficulties that require me to cancel my membership, their only solution was to suspend my payments. Second, if you wish to end your membership after the 3 months you must inform them with a 2 week notice. The customer service is nonexistent. Meaning, you cannot call to speak with an actual person, and even if you email them you can expect a 3 to 5 day delay in response. Third, as if all of that wasn't enough, if you wish to take matters into your own hands and manage your account yourself (to cancel a membership, for example) you must sign up for an "On Demand" account which costs $35 a month. As you can imagine I am VERY hesitant to enter into yet ANOTHER payment agreement with a business who has repeatedly asked too much of me for far too little in return. The Peoples Yoga claims to be a low-cost community yoga space, however they are anything but!

My family was in Portland (from Chicago) for a mix of work & play, so my daughter and I were able to get to some yoga classes. We signed up for a hatha class & drove to the wrong location (haha) where we ended up in Roger's vinyasa flow class. Which turned out to be *exactly* what we needed! His vibe and his class were lit! We loved this studio & would def return to this class next time we are in Portland! Thanks, Roger! 💖

So far so good. Todsy was my 4th day. I bought the thirty day promional period. I was looking for hot yoga but no luck near where I live. People's yoga might be a good substitute for now

I just went to a very good vinyasa class. I feel like Abby knows every body is different and gives way more options than most yoga instructors. Usually I like to go all out but today I felt tired and sore so I liked doing less. I felt like her alignment cues were fantastic, her energy was good, and she can match the yoga sequence to the needs of the class. Honestly I was very impressed with her class and I’ve practiced yoga for 10 years and taught it for 5 (part time in medical settings). I also really like and benefit from Roger’s classes.

Excellent yoga studio with knowledgable and friendly instructor's! I've never seen a full class, so few people and a nice setting makes for a great experience. If you are new take advantage of the 30day for $30 deal. It's a steal!

Just took my first class here (gentle Hatha) and I could not love this studio more. The mask requirements/options were very clearly stated both on the website and in the email that I received when booking the class. The class was just the right size (8 people) and the instructor was very easy to follow. I went home and purchased a membership, and already booked my next class. SO happy to be taking class in-person again!

I did not appreciate the treatment given by this studio. I am vaccinated, but unfortunately can't prove it and was essentially shamed by another client and the teacher. I will never attend a class here again. If you are going to enforce an unreasonable policy at least be clear and consistent with it. I was told I could take off the mask once at my mat, but was then made to leave only after another client began acting strangely towards me, moved her mat away from mine then eventually asked me where my vaccine card was. The teacher did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to help the situation and began arguing with me as I tried to leave. The person at the front misinformed me, but I must be the one shamed. I am not putting anyone in harms way, I've been fully vaccinated since February, but my wallet was stolen and I never took a picture of my card....

A great deal for unlimited yoga! And the instructors are LOVELY - Abbi’s restorative class is the best way to wind down from a tough week. I always look forward to practicing here. So many studios have a competitive or comparative feel, but at the people’s yoga I feel like I’m able to just be in my body and breathe. They also offer a diverse selection of classes and times, so it’s an awesome place if you work a busy schedule!

I have been going to Peoples Yoga on and off since it was in the little upstairs room on Belmont. Today I took the Sunday donation class with Charlie (it was her 8th class teaching since graduating from Peoples TT) She had a great pace and tempo and gave us a 10 min savasana which was superb, supreme and much needed!

The new Hawthorne studio is conveniently located across from New Seasons and a bunch a great food places. It’s a big zen den of self care.

Feeling lighter and more loved.
Thanks Peoples🥰

Erin

The price, the studios, the instructors, and space, you absolutely have to check it out. You won't regret it.

Big shot out to Sarah Robinette, if you are looking for one of the best instructors in Portland look no further. Her knowledge of yoga, unique sequence, and how real she is as a person will leave you coming back for more.

You can truly tell she really loves what she does along with the rest of the staff at People's Yoga.

The People's Yoga offers a variety of classes from beginner to advanced, and from relaxing to more challenging styles. I can say that there is something for everyone. I have always felt more than welcomed by the instructors and touched by their insights and personable advice throughout my practice.
I started at the People's Yoga with their beginner special of $30 for 1 month when I moved to Portland. If you are a yogi on a budget, this will be the place for you to keep practicing, as they offer the best deal in town for a membership, starting at $60/month. If a membership is not your thing, their drop ins are only $10 as well. Great deal and great practice!
