Absolutely love the People's studios and teachers. I have learned a ton from the teachers here (including headstand which I didn't know was possible) and it was all so fun. Also love that some classes offer teachings of mantras and yoga philosophy since this can be hard to find at other studios. The space is open and everyone I met was friendly and inclusive. Highly recommended!

I love this studio and the teachers! I only wish they held early morning classes. The 7:30-8:30 classes are great but trying to get home, showered, and across town for work at 9 can be a real struggle for working folks. They have lots of evening options but there is nothing like a morning class to start your day off right.

Nice, large neighborhood studio, and I loved the beautiful plants throughout. The weekend class I attended was packed. I will say I was surprised at the poor quality of the loaner mats (which cost an additional $2). Beginners, travelers, and people without much money are more likely to need a loaner mat, and offering them a slippery, worn-out mat that wasn't designed for yoga isn't very inclusive :(

Do not recommend. They don't stand behind their online registration platform. I registered for two of us, which their platform let me do, and paid for two registration fees. When we showed up to class, they were full and said, "Our system doesn't work that way." Ah, so they know it but don't have any system in place to take care of customers who use the process in place. They could even see on my registration that I had paid before the class was closed. Too bad. They don't care. They obviously don't need new clients with all these 5-star reviews, and I don't need to take yoga in a toxic environment like that.

2024: Holy Snake with Veronika - 1 star
"don't drink water." "don't go into child's pose." "you don't need blocks; go deeper." "get into the position even if you're not doing it right." "my yoga teacher would pull the mat right out from under you if you wouldn't move." "someone in here is doing it wrong." this instructor is militant and aims to shame. you should have a lot of confidence before trying this class so you don't hurt yourself. class ended a half hour late with no notice.
2023: Loved the restorative yoga class I attended. Instructor helped students with prop placement and read a poem at the end of the practice. Lots of blankets, blocks, etc to borrow on site.

I love this place. Itβs so welcoming of all body types and skill levels. It makes such a difference to be practicing in a space without mirrors. Definitely the kind of vibe I look for in a yoga studio - more about everyoneβs own practice and connection with their body than anything else.

I love The People's Yoga and I love yoga teacher Margarita Smith even more! I take Restorative with her on Tuesdays and Gentle Hatha on Thursdays. As a result, my chronic neck pain has disappeared, my sleep is deeper, and my shoulders aren't permanently scrunched up to me ears. The space is airy and clean, the vibe is welcoming to all, and class prices are reasonable. So glad I discovered this space and this teacher.

I had a difficult week so yesterday went to two yoga classes here yesterday: one with Ian and the other with Margarita. Both classes were really great with good cues and proper attention to appropriate alignment. Very good energy at the studio and would highly reccomend.

Awesome ππ½ Variety of yoga π§πΎββοΈ styles based on teacher styles and focus (pranayama, asana (routine), sound vibration healing, etc) Having only been to 3 classes out of 30 (so far), but already loving the variety, personal challenge, and internal journey of Mind, Body, Spirit. Namaste ππ½

The People's yoga is a great neighborhood studio with a friendly and amazing staff, from the instructors to the front desk. There are so many great yoga teachers with an array of experience who all bring something a little different to the floor. And the addition of Heather Craig's Bootyluv classes is a total bonus!

I attended the alignment focused class. As a somewhat newbie at yoga (well, yoga in public that is) this was the perfect class for me. The movements were slow and thoughtful with plenty of explanation to try and improve form and effectiveness. The space was nice with friendly staff and instructor.

Down to earth, less pretentious than a lot of yoga studios I've been to, particularly the Killingsworth location. The instructors have all been amazing and a couple stand out as the best I've had. I love that evan a vinyasa class can be meditative.

I've been going to People's Yoga for almost 10 years now, on and off. As long as they remain in my neighborhood, I will continue to practice there; the class prices are still reasonable (they do $12 drop in compared to some studios who want to charge $18/class... which is just insanity in my opinion!) Studio is very nice, clean, and the teachers that I follow are fantastic. So glad I've got such a great studio just a few blocks from home :)

The diversity of classes and teaching styles are amazing. From Sarah's matter of fact yet light-hearted approach to kicking my butt, to Kimi's use of a tennis ball to free my neck, to Stephanie's ethereal singing to end a very sweet practice. Namaste The People's Yoga!

I've been going here for several years now, and have taken multiple classes with several of the teachers. Overall, I find them compassionate, responsive and good at listening to various body needs and wants. The instructors at People's Yoga helped me realize how much I love yoga. It's also a safe and welcoming community for a diverse group of people.

I don't know how you could have a bad experience here. The prices are fair, and the instructors (Yogi's) are knowledgeable and personable. I drive 20 miles from SW suburbs sometimes to catch a class. Wish there were more offerings south of the City, but that has nothing to do with TPY. Go here. Win!
